Very good professor! My old roommate was a GEO major, so I had a little bit of interest in the topic already. Ms. Kneeshaw made the class very fun and interactive (there is a field trip involved in the class) and you can tell she genuinely loves geology and has a very good background and knowledge in the topics covered! GREAT PROFESSOR!

She is a very good teacher. You have weekly online quizzes and they are super easy to do because of how well she gives notes in lecture. Also, I did not even purchase the book, so you do not need it. There are also homework assignments that are super easy points so do them. I highly recommend her.

Favorite Professor at GVSU by far! She is very sweet! & she is clear about what she expects and when assignments are due! The tests are very simple if you study the powerpoints and follow the studyguides. All the quizes were generally easy as well!Do the HW assignments and take advantage of the EC opportunity. Overall great class!

Dr. Kneeshaw managed to make geology interesting. her power points are online, and she goes over them in class. Her tests are really easy if you study, and she gives take home quizzes which really help boost your grade. I recommend her!

I was very pleased with this class! Tara's peppy, and she is very organized and makes geo interesting. I didn't buy the textbook, I got by just fine by taking notes in class. All of the information you'll need for the tests are in her notes, and she posts them on Blackboard too. If you go over the notes a few times you should do fine on tests. :)

TAKE HER!! Seriously she is awesome! Tara keeps classes interesting and enjoyable. Also there is only 2 exams, a weekly online quiz that you can use your book for, and a field trip! She makes sure that you are more than prepared for exams and truly wants you to succeed. I recommend her over and over again!

Do the online quizzes once a week as well as attend the discussion (major points) and don't miss too many lectures. Recommend her over and over again. Awesome!

she is great prof, really enjoys teaching her students. She is always willing to help or answer questions. in her lecture. she reads off of lecture slides and post them after class. make sure you get a clicker and come to lecture because she does count that. go to her lab because she gives 25 pt assingment every week. when taking quizes save them

She is very knowledgeable in this field-and it's evident she's very interested in it as well! Her class reminded me of a Geology class I'd take in middle school-very slow-paced, easy, and lots of labs about rocks. Perfect teacher to take to get those Gen. Ed.'s out of the way!

Excellent professor, very easy to pay attention since she is so bubbly. Weekly quizzes and in-class clicker questions that she uses for attendance grade. Homework is simple. Fantastic for non-science majors, she uses great metaphors.

Awesome Professor. Very clear and easy to understand. She puts things into everyday terms. Attendance is a must, take good notes and follow along with the presentations and you will be fine. Book had minimal use, although the weekly quizzes were open book, so it was useful but not necessary. Great Class!

Kneeshaw is an awesome professor who is clearly passionate about her subject and teaching it to others. I took this class mainly for the boat trip which ended up not happening (the boat broke!) so she replaced it with a trip to the beach instead. :) I had a great time in this class!

Tara is a great professor! She is really passionate about the subject which makes it a lot easier to listen to her lectures. She uses clickers, so you have to go to class if you want the 5 points. Her tests are pretty hard, so you have to study. But if you study you'll do good. Not much homework. She uses powerpoint and puts them all on BB

Pretty tough for a 100 level class - for a non-sciencey person - she loves geology and is always really excited for class, so its not boring. However, its just a lot to know and the tests are pretty difficult. Never got better than a C. There are a lot of opportunities for easy points to keep your grade up though. not bad overall.

Great class for a non-lab credit for anyone. Do not need to use the book. Posts powerpoints on blackboard. Quizzes on blackboard every week or so.You get the choice to write an essay or go on a field trip. We went to a gypsum mine 20 miles away and it was awesome. She let us wander around the mine and use hammers to chip for rocks! Her

She is a great professor. She is extremely passionate about geology and really enjoys teaching the subject. She makes it very easy to understand subjects and concepts. Online homework and quizzes make for really easy points, and tests aren't hard as long as you look over power points and notes. Wish I could take her class again!

Professor gave great lectures, filled with humor and puns... "Geology Rocks!" Lots of outside class assignments that were quite reasonable and quizzes each week as well as fair tests.

She was AWESOME! The homework assignments are always easy but the tests are not fun. Weekly quizzes are online and will make your grade or break them so be sure to keep up with it. She was so funny and make geology dorks out of all of us. She uses power points for her lectures which are really helpful. DON'T BUY THE BOOK. I never once used mine.

She is super passionate about what she does and is usually interesting to listen to. 6-9 wasnt nearly as bad as I thought it would be. The field trip is actually kind of fun, only 3 exams during the semester and weekly quizzes. Shes a great person and I respect her knowledge! TEXTBOOK NOT NECESSARY

Professor Kneeshaw is an incredible teacher! She is really passionate and excited about Geology, and she shares that enthusiasm in every class. She is definitely part of the reason I chose Geology as my major. I would take the class again in a heartbeat.

Dr. Kneeshaw is such an amazing professor. You can tell she truly loves her job and the subjects she teaches. I learned something new every class I went to. Participation does matter so try not to skip. No text book but there is a $20 app you have to purchase. Only about four homework assignments. Very interesting class and easy to pass

Prof. Kneeshaw class was fun and interesting, She posts her lectures on BB. She does not require a textbook, but there will be readings to do online. To me, this class was almost common sense based, or information you would have learned in 8th grade. She is funny and helpful when you ask.

I am not into geology, but Kneeshaw included things in her lectures that you actually should know for daily life. I liked the way she did her lectures, and if you have to take this kind of class I would definitely take her. Do the work though!

Tara was a very enthusiastic professor and made the class so much more interesting because of her personality. She is fun and upbeat in a rather boring class. She gives extra credit so definitely take advantage because it wasn't hard. I found the tests to be a little challenging for a 100 level course. No book, but need to participate in class!

The tests are tough for a gen ed class; however I loved having her as a professor. She is super nice, helpful, and keeps the lectures interesting! Labs are not too difficult. If you pay attention and study for the exams you will be fine. I would love to take another class with her!

TopHat participation point, if you answer 85% of them you still get an A. Mandatory field trip w/ a super easy 1pg paper, 3 exams, online BB quizzes every other week, & 4 easy hw assignments. Material is common sense, & she teaches this class very well, so the tests were super easy. Always studied the night before & got A's. Take this class/prof!!

No book, instead you use tophat participation. It has one field trip and she offers extra credit only a few times. She's super spunky and is always excited to teach the subject. Taught the material very well. As always, what you put into studying for the test will reflect what you get on the test. Would 10/10 recommend

Prof. Kneeshaw has been one of my favorite professors that I've had at GVSU. She is so passionate about what she teaches and her lectures are interesting. She does have a very spunky personality which I loved! And she seems to be a very fair, very knowledgeable prof. I'd definitely take her again!

Dr. Kneeshaw is an amazing professor. I truly learned so much from her this semester. There is no textbook required. Lectures are VERY easy to follow and tests are based off of them entirely. Top Hat is used for lectures so attendance is a must. VERY fair grader. Would highly recommend and definitely take a class with her again.

This class demanded a little more effort than the usual gen ed, but it was very fair. Homework and quizzes were easy points, and the tests were always multiple choice and matching. She made lectures enjoyable and was a very respectable professor.

Tara one of the best professors I have had in college. She truly loves teaching, and that is something that comes through in every one of her lectures. She will make you want to be a geologist. It is incredibly refreshing to have a professor that actually cares about whether or not their students learn.

Really energetic. For being a 1 credit class, it's lot of busy and unnecessary work, but you need to show up and do the work. She was extremely helpful though and answered any questions you had. Take her for this class or any geo class if you can.

I really enjoyed this class. I thought I would hate it being a junior in a frehsmen level class but she made it easy for everyone to understand. Tons of quizes online but its not hard. Would recommend if not a geology major!

Kneeshaw was a great instructor but beware of the weekly quizzes on blackboard. You miss a few and set your grade behind. No harder than a usual class but make sure you are organized because she does not remind you of upcoming due dates. Overall would probably take again.

Tara Kneeshaw is a great professor who comes to class everyday energic and ready to make the class seem fun even though it's about rocks. Weekly homework and quizzes online (all the answers are on google), Tests are fairly challenging but if the class does badly on a question she won't count it. Definitely a fair grader and a good teacher to take.

Prof. Kneeshaw is a very outgoing and energetic teacher that has tons of knowledge on geology. Her weekly assignments are easy and lecture attendance is not mandatory. She cares about each of her students and is very willing to help outside of class time. I would take her classes multiple times if I had the opportunity.

Tara is one of the best professors I have ever had! GEO175 is only a once-a-week class, so it was very important to show up for every lecture so that you would understand the material. The projects got more difficult towards the end of the semester, but if you had any questions Tara would walk you through it.

She is very passionate about Geology. Quizzes every week but they are open book on Blackboard. Exams are definitely not super easy but if you study its definitely possible to ace them all. A few other assignments throughout the semester but very clear and easy A's.

Most of the lectures are actually pretty interesting and Top Hat questions are simply graded on participation. Class is an easy A as long as you show up and do the quizzes. The tests can be long (60-70 q's), but they're not bad if you do the study guid

I never enjoyed science until I took Living with The Great Lakes. She's passionate about her material which makes lectures interesting. Do the weekly quizzes which are super easy, show up and you'll do fine!

Tara is so kind! She gives homework that is so easy and she gives you so much time do to it. She gives three unit tests, one final, and one essay. If you study, pay attention in class, and take good notes, the tests are extremely easy. Attendance is not mandatory, but she gives participation points for participating in questions on an app in class.

She uploads powerpoints. However, she does do attendance with TopHat. This class does not require a book, which is very nice. Def recommend taking w her!

Tara is always full of energy and ready to go during lectures. She uses TopHat for participation/attendance that has questions, but they are useful for when the exams come around. She is not one to give extra credit. The semester field trip is fun and she even brought her dog. She is caring, fun, and knowledgeable. I would 100% take her again.

If you have the chance to take Tara please do. I have a hard time listening to lectures and while hers were better than others it was easy to study for exams with the online material posted. She grades easy and gives a lot of feedback for labs and homework assignments. The exams are fairly easy if you actually understand the material. Do take her!

She is super energetic early in the morning and also very nice. Homework and quizzes are easy but the tests cover a lot and her study guides aren't the biggest help. If you want to do good on the tests I recommend you know EVERYTHING! She will teach you new lessons every day up until the test so you only have a day to study new things.

This course was an easy gen ed. Exams aren't hard but they're content heavy and she usually curves them. She's energetic and is very educated in what she's teaching. She gives a very reasonable amount of homework and quizzes. As long as you study and turn in assignments you'll be fine.

Dr. Kneeshaw is very easygoing, lectures are just PowerPoint. Tests are easy to score high, just know the terms. The homework is pretty light and quizzes are easy. A good professor for an easy GenEd science.

I love Tara! She is one of my favorite profs at GV. Some of the lectures can be a bit dull but she always finds a way to make it entertaining. She's a pretty easy grader, accepts late work, and is always willing to help you if you don't understand something.

Kneeshaw is an amazing professor. The class was very enjoyable. Every lecture was entertaining because she would have lots of jokes and all the information was pretty interesting. A few tests and quizzes. Fun field trip on Lake Michigan that is a huge portion of the final grade.

dr kneeshaw is amazing. she cares about her students, is amazing at teaching, and is a kind person overall. i struggled with some personal problems and she was able to accommodate as best as she could. i have since changed my major and i'll miss having her as a prof, so i will always recommend her to anyone.
