Tara Koosak is a very nice lady, but she does grade on the harsher side, than other teachers at DBC. However, it's nothing any good student can't handle. I managed to get an A. As long as you just prepare for your speeches ahead of time, you'll be fine. Also she assigns 2 very small writing assignments, a pain but they are easy

She's a young teacher, very fun to talk to after class. The grading is a little harsh, for example, if you're over 5 seconds she'll take off five points, same amount that if someone goes over 4 minutes. We only used the textbook like 4-5 times to read something then talk about it in class. Fun class though, easy if you work hard.

I took this class and really enjoying the learning process. If you prepare speeches and worked hard, you will do well. I feel confident now to talk infront of people. Professor Koosak was my great teacher. Thanks

Prof. Koosak is cool and helpful. I am taking her class and learning how to give speeches in front of people. She gives suggestions when I need help building my confidence. It is not an easy class but I do enjoy the learning.

Great teacher! There was very little work. A single outline for each speech. I know it seems like a lot but there are about 5 speeches that you will have to give. I was originally very nervous about doing this class, but once you get in there, she really tries to help you do the best you can do. I would recommend her to everyone!

Of course, not interested in this class whatsoever. Professor Koosak on the other hand LOVES her job and loves this subject. She is not demanding. So makes it very clear what the assignments are, how to do them, and when they are due. In fact, I would say she was TOO lenient with most of the students that never had their stuff in on time.

I truly enjoyed learning how to give speeches with Prof. Koosak. She was straight forward in what was expected in class assignments. I followed her lesson plans and asked questions. I did well in the class and would like to recommend her to those who want to learn.

I did well in the class because Ms. Koosak helped me after classes. I was behind due to illness and she was understanding. She gave me reviews on many problem areas and encouraged me to study hard for the exams. I think she is one of my best professors and I will take her again if a new class is offered.

Oh ms. kossak, first of all she's really nice and understanding but you definetly have to work for your grade. I don't know what you have to do to get a 100 on a speech but I never met anyone who did it. Outline, powerpoint, notecards for every speech. very particular about her grading. she's easy going but she's not an easy "A".

It was wonderful to take Speech Communication with Prof. Koosak this semester. The lessons were crystal clear and well organized. We went in depth on how to create and present really great public speeches. I learned a lot from this class. Ms. Koosak is a great teacher and I recommend her to anyone who really wants to learn.

As long as you do your work & turn it in on time...You will get an A. (she can tell if you truly are trying :) Attendance is a HUGE PLUS! We rarely used the book, no need to buy it.

Ms. Koosak was one of my most favorite instructors. She is funny and kind. I emailed her often for help late in the day including weekends. She always replied promptly. Only 5 or 6 graded speeches that she explains very well and is available to help or set up appointments often. She is very easy to talk to and very fun. She does a lot of group activities usually ending with giving a short presentation with them. There are online quizzes that go through the ebook (which is $90) but are only 5pts each.

I love this teacher! She is so enthusiastic and very nice. She explains things thoroughly, sometimes a little too thoroughly, but all in all shes a great teacher. She makes the class feel like a family which is great for this type of class.

Prof. Koosak is a very caring instructor who wants her students to succeed. She's really understanding if you have situations going on and responds to emails quickly. Her classroom environment is extremely welcoming and feels like family which is super important for this type of course. With that being said- do your work! Slackers wont get an A.
