I am a returning student. I absolutley hate science, no matter what kind it is. Dr. Stoulig made it interesting. Being a returning student, it is sometimes hard to balance a full time job, school, and a home life. She is extremely understanding and willing to work with you on just about anything. If there is a way for her to help, she will.
She is a great teacher and if you go to class and take notes then you will do fine. If you take notes for her test reviews then you will do fine because the questions on the test come straight from the review.

She is a very good teacher and very helpful. She's a much better pick than Dick Miller. She relates things to medicine and more to humans than Dr. Miller and his stupid plants. She is a good pick and if you go to class everyday you will do just fine, I got an A just by going to class and working hard.
She puts everything on slides that you can print out and have to study and review. She tells you what is on the exams. She reviews the material before each class. She is willing to help outside of class. Very nice lady. She gives bonus quizzes before class that really brings up your grade. Take her and you wont be sorry.
she is very great. she takes time to see and make sue that if u dont understand something she helps you out. she really wants you to pass. i would recommend that if you have to take biol 152 to take her for definate sure.
Good teacher. Great references to real life situations. Her class takes some work, but its worth it and very interesting. However, she grades extremely nitpicky and takes FOREVER to get any grades back. Would still recommend her though!
wonderful teacher, easy to understand and is very helpful. I am even thinking of taking BIO 151--with her just because I know I can get a better grade because of her teaching style.
Great teacher. You do have to work but it is worth it
She is my fav. teacher at Southeastern. All of her slides (which she actually teaches from) are posted on blkbrd before we go over them in class. If you have any ?'s at all, you can go to her office and she will explain/help with whatever it is. She does review ?'s after each chapter & exam reviews before each exam. Her tests are hard, but fair.
I love Dr. Stoulig. Take her and i guarentee if you do your share, you will make an A. She is so sweet and always wants to help you. Her tests and quizes are easy and come directly from the notes. She is the cutest little thing too! I wish i could take every class with her.
AMAZING Teacher! She gives exam reviews for every exam, if you study these well you will make an A on the exam. Attendance isn't mandatory, but missing class will leave you confused. Makes many referenced to how the material relates to everyday life...Take her, she is so very helpful...
Dr. Stouling, is amazing. She's so nice and awesome. Overall, she's a great teacher. "Leo says Ger" really did help a lot. haha. I'd definitely suggest her to other students because she's a great teacher, willing to help out or work with you, and she has all SMILEYs from her students! ha. take her. she's great! :D
Excellent professor. Very concerned with students understanding the material fully. A little particular with some of the grading but fair overall.
She is an awesome teacher! She will do anything she can to help you. She has a really good teaching method and she is cute and very sweet!
She is very nice, however she is extremely unorganized. She always waited till right before class to post grades. She was even a hour late starting our Mid-term because she was not prepared. She starts class with a quiz but they contain alot of fill in the blank and spelling has to be perfect. I can't recommend you taking her for the LAB course.
She is a great teacher, but get ready to WORK.Her class is intense and if you miss you will be lost. Her test are hard, but fair. The textbook website it is a GREAT RESOURCE for studying for the exams, she is SLOOOOW getting grades back but fast responding to emails and being availabe to help you. I would def.take her again
Dr.Stoulig is AWESOME!! She's always willing to help you when you need it. But you must go to class in order to get a good grade. The online quizzes are helpful& tests are fair , they come straight from the exam review..I'd take her again!
Enthusiastic, Really helpful, her quizzes are easy if you pay attention to the lectures. Use the lab manual a lot but just listening to lecture/experiments you'll get an A. Drops lowest quiz and is extremely approachable. Very sweet and very knowledgable!!!!
Wonderful teacher who is great at helping studnets.
She is a great teacher, she is very clear about what you need to know for a test, and she does not try to trick you. You take online quizes, and she is very helpful. I would def take her for all my bio classes if i could! TAKE HER!!
you have to study her notes back and forward she takes off for the smallest things very detailed teacher she made genetics harder than what it should have been
I took her and made an A. She has straight questions and easy quizzes. You can take her classes. She has got very interactive nature with student but a less of bonus works. I enjoyed her class and her helpfulness has made me think to take any of upcoming biology classes with her.
She is a good teacher, but always wants you to know EVERYTHING about the chapter. She tries to make people interested, and if she catches you sleeping or texting, she'll ask you to leave. I'd recommend her, but only if you're ready to do some serious work.
She is pretty hard. She goes into deep detail for every chapter. My first two test were extremely difficult to study for. I then discovered that she gets the majority of her question from the online Mader text book multiple choice quizzes. KNOW THE ONLINE QUIZZES BACKWARDS AND FORWARDS!!It pulled my grade up from c's and D's to b's and A's.
She is a very nice teacher. You have to pay attention and attend her classes though.
Great teacher. You have to pay attention and take notes but you will learn a lot.
Great teacher!
She is an extremely sweet teacher and will go out of her way to help you. But you HAVE to pay attention to her lectures in class and you HAVE to study, otherwise your grades will wind up slacking. I made that mistake. However, she gives out a good bit of points and a few bonus points here and there which can help you bring your grade up. Recommend!
Dr. Turley is a sweet teacher. She is always enthusiastic about teaching. You HAVE to go to class, take notes, and print out powerpoints. If you don't, then don't expect to do well at all in her class. Her tests are challenging. Do not slack on the little extra assignments because in the end it will definitely hurt your grade.
Dr. Turley-Stoulig is an excellent biology teacher and an excellent person in general. Her focus is in human genetics, so that's the part of the class she gets most excited about. Pay attention in class, do the electronic assignments (they add up to a test grade) and hang in there! She doesn't offer any help with grades until after the drop date.
very interesting!! you will learn alot.. about human medicine! Class was challenging, but not impossible to get through. Study Hard for the tests because everything is oh so detailed. 4 Exams, 1 major paper, a group presentation, and additional HW. I enjoyed her class, but it was too much work for a genetics class.
Dr. Stoulig is absolutely awesome! She is very clear as to what she expects out of you at the beginning of the year, and she sticks to it for the rest of the semester. Her tests are hard, but if you study and attend the lectures they aren't too bad. Everything you cover will be on the test. I absolutely love her, and I recommend her to everyone!
Very easy. Do all the work and you pass.
I took this as an online course. The course required lots of reading from the textbooks, and all exams had questions taken from what you read. She was a very helpful professor, offered extra credit, and even gave you study guides. The study guide for the final exam was especially helpful.
4 tests, cumulative final, online assignments are easy.Take good notes, look over the chapter before class or print slides. Her study guide is her reading off the test and telling you what to study. very helpful, repeats important concepts and anything repeated more than once will probably be on test.I really enjoyed her class just DONT show up late.
Really sweet lady, but she is strict. She knows her material very well, but you MUST go to class, take notes, do the online assignments, and do the extra chapter online assignments. The only way to learn the material is to practice it. It's a hard class by nature so the work is to be expected. Tests-difficult because they involve much application.
Dr Stoulig is a very nice lady and she is willing to clarify anything you are confused with, but her tests are insane. you need to study long and hard for those bad boys and go to every class. no easy A here
She's very helpful and doesn't teach straight from the book. She knows her work and is very enthusiastic. I hate biology and passed the class with a C and barely studied. She offers extra credit and make sure you ALWAYS do the connect assignments.Just print out the power points for class and make notes. Go to class everyday!
If you read the chapters, bring slides and take notes during class, the tests will be easy. She teaches from the book and points out important things to know from each chapter (in class). I finished class with a 97 b/c I read each chapter, paid attention in class, made a few notes on slides, and did the easy homework before deadline.
Test are tough and you must study. Not an easy shoe up and pass. But she's very sweet, helpful, and energetic. Cannot text in class tho.
She is very energetic and knows what she is talking about. her tests are very hard though. no matter how much you pay attention or study it is not easy to pass!!!
Lots of homework. Very tough grader. 89.99 is a B. no grace scores. no extra points. expects you to know bio thoroughly. you have to love bio to excel.
Very tough online class. Requires a lot of textbook use. There are about 5 exams, an online assignment for each chapter due each week, and a final cumulative exam. Out of all my classes, this course required the most of my time and energy and I got an A. She is very willing to help you and open to questions. It is very fast paced course.
Very interesting class. She is willingly to help her students. Listen to test review she goes what is going to be on the test. Must study.
Very helpful and approachable professor. She is extremely knowledgeable about the topic she teaches. She is keen in knowing what students expect out of the genetic class and tries to explain concepts diagrammatically. Having said that, her tests are hard and gets confusing. Her power points are extremely sketchy. You have to work very hard.
Great professor.Offers quizzes and extra credit through out the semester. She does not round, so 89.99 is a B. NO curves on exams. Very helpful. In class, very detailed at helping you understand what she wants you to get out of her lectures. Out of class, she is willing to Skype to help you understand the material. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
I really enjoyed Dr. Stoulig's class! She is quick to answer questions through email. She genuinely cares about her students and makes suggestions on how you can achieve your goals even if you don't ask for help. My only complaint would be that the instructions on moodle were not very clear.
Very clear in lectures and what is expected of you on tests, papers, or projects. Tests are a mix of multiple choice, fill in the blank, short answer, and essaydiagram drawing. Must be very detailed in answers because she grades tough. Overall, a very structured course and she is more than willing to help you.
Heard a lot of scary stories about her, but once I took her class I realized that she is nothing like I heard. She is a very down to earth professor that wants the students to learn. She does want you to know specifics especially in the drawings but if you copy it straight from the board, you will be fine. Her tests come from her power-points!
got an A easily. Go to class, pay attention, take notes, and study. Her class is interesting and she is a great biology teacher. Getting a B should not be hard.
She doesn't give a free A, but if you work for it, you can get an A or a B. Always be on time for class, because she does not appreciate late students. She is super willing to help if you need a little more explaining on stuff and she is a very friendly, non-threatening person. She also offers some extra-credit, which is helpful.
Great teacher!! You have to take notes and pay attention to what she specifically says to focus on. Study hard, do the connect assignments and you will pass.
Actually enjoy listening to her lectures and going to class even though its my earliest class. Always willing to help and enjoys teaching. Tests become common sense if you go to class and study, didn't need the textbook, most everything needed for tests comes out of her mouth, so pay attention. Great bio teacher, I'd take her a million times again.
Awesome professor! Her lectures are detailed but very clear and easy to understand. She is very willing to help whenever she can. Don't let the first two tests discourage you, it gets easier. Connect assignments really help your grade a ton, so do them all. She is fair and super sweet, and if you take notes and study an A is definitely possible.
would take her again. very knowledgeable, very specific
Dr. Stoulig was one of the best professors I've ever had. She made her class so interesting i changed my major. You have to go to class and study, but definitely take her!
Great teacher! Willing to help students who don't understand. Does not give bonus. Will not tolerate walking into class late or texting. If you read chapters, do the online assignments (worth big part of grade), go to class (and pay attention) you will pass! And if you study you will get an A. Love her, made class interesting.
She takes her time to explain what she is talking about and is always willing to answer questions.
I love her!! She is really good at lecturing, anything important she will repeat three times. Gives a lot of review for each chapter and gives a review before every test. She does stress that the review is just a guideline. You have to really apply yourself. Test can be tricky! If you study you do good in her class!
sweet. Would highly recommend.
She explains material thoroughly and makes sure everyone understands before moving on. I really enjoyed this class! She grades hard, and there are two projects she requires students to do. But she gives a study guide to help study for tests and stresses important concepts that will be on the test. The tests are hard, but fair. Loved this class!
even if you know the material, most likely won't know it for the test. test are extremely hard. really have to apply yourself. overall very sweet person.
Dr. Stoulig is very eager to help her students with anything they are having trouble with. There were four exams; the last exam was cumulative. She assigned two projects. The first was to write an essay on a specific disease and the second was a group presentation on a disease. She's a tough grader, especially on the essay and exams.
There is homework every week and a test about every 3-4 weeks. Tests are between 75-100 questions. Offers three different forms of extra credit at the end of the semester.
She definitely knows what she is talking about. She will always ask if everyone understands and if she needs to go over the topic again.
She really wants everyone to pass. She is very talkative which is good because you don't have to ask many questions. There are 4 exams given, not including the final. She replies to emails fairly quick. She always reviews and explains what will be on each exam.
I took Ms Stoulig's online biology, and would definitely recommend her! She's sweet and there if you need the help or have any questions
One of the best professors I've had. She encourages you to learn the material. Would highly recommend.
Stoulig is insanely smart. I truly enjoyed her class, I just didn't study enough for it. Study, go to class, pay attention, and you should do fine. Her tests are deceivingly hard, but not horrible. Her lectures are great and she tries really hard to get students involved in the class. I definitely recommend her.
She is such a great professor! She really cares about her students and expects them to do work outside of class.
STUDY STUDY ! She's very helpful and helps you understand what you don't know.
This class is impossible. The homework alone is really challenging but the tests? Yea, a single person can not take these things by themselves in a two hour time period with all of the ridiculous matching questions she throws in that take about 10 minutes each on their own. DO NOT take this class if you know whats good for you.
She is wonderful; however, I find myself falling asleep sometimes by the end of the class. Not her fault though:) I just know a lot of the material already and wished it was more advanced. Really helpful, but you do have a lot of homework though. I personally did not read the textbook a lot.
If you actually want to learn about genetics, Stoulig is the only choice. Great professor. That being said, she will make you work your tail off for that grade. Three tests, one final, one group presentation, and one research paper. Very tough grader, especially for the drawings. If you don't study everyday after class, you will struggle.
Super sweet and caring. She is very enthusiastic about teaching and wants to make sure everyone understands. You can always hit her up outside of class for help.
Horrible at putting in grades. Normally takes her 2-3 weeks just to put in a 5 question quiz. 3 weeks for our midterm grade. Quizzes at the beginning of every class period. Very hard grader on small things like workbook pages. She teaches okay. Overall she is very nice, but expects a lot of work out of you for a 1 hour course.
She is very clear as to what is on the test. No surprises.
Dr. Stoulig was awesome. She lectures off of power points and is very clear and understandable, but she gives homework assignments online that go into way more detail than the topics she covers in class and they are EXTREMELY difficult and time consuming!! Tests are all multiple choice and i studied my tail off and got an 89.9 & she DOES NOT round!
I never used the book. Online assignments are usually pretty difficult but you get three tries for each section of each assignment and it keeps your highest grade. She does not curve or round grades and offers few bonus points. The class is difficult but an A is not impossible if you study hard and meet with her for help and review previous tests.
Do not take this class online. Test are heavy and there is not enough time to take them. Homework assignments are pretty easy.
Her tests are obnoxious. Too much time is spent trying to match answers. No clear way of keeping up with class grade/average for her class.
Sometimes hard to follow during lectures. She wants you to succeed but really makes you work for it. Homeworks are EXTREMELY difficult. You have to know almost every detail if you want A's on the tests.
Tests are very hard. Do the study assignments or you'll fail.
Great teacher! As long as you read you will pass. Super easy.
Great teacher. You have to work for your grade. It's not a very hard class but it's definitely not easy. Tells you exactly what's going to be on each test, including final. YOU MUST STUDY TO PASS!
Do not take her online. The class is fasted paced and the test are +70 questions that you will only ave 2 hours to take. Two hours if not enough time. She does give a little bonus at the end of the semester which is not a lot. With the test, you cannot simply google the answers, trust me. In order to pass this class, prepare to read your butt off.
I wish I had not taken Bio151 online. Stoulig was very thorough in her emails and announcements and always made sure everyone knew what was going on and when things were due. The material was really difficult for me. Do not take this class online but definitely take her class in person. She is probably phenomenal in person.
Tries to explain things as simple as possible to make the class easier. The online homework doesn't usually line up with what she teaches which can be aggravating.
She's wonderful. she does stick sign questions at the end of each chapter which helps a lot. attend classes regularly if you want to pass. Mindtap assignments are pretty tasking but they help you study and understand each topic. Her tests are easy to me because they are things you'd come across in class or on mindtap or on the stick sign questions.
*disclaimer* I am not a fan of biology at all. But she was a great instructor. Outlined goals very clearly. Responded to emails quickly with candor and care for my issues and struggles. I ended up dropping the class because it turns out I don't need to take biology and I had a D. But if you need to take Bio, she is a good choice. Cares for students
She is a good teacher all around
She truly cares about her students. Gives a study guide on what to "focus" on when studying but it's pretty much everything covered on the exam. Explains things excellently & nicely. NEVER gets irritate. 10 point assignment due at the end of the chapter, relatively easy as long as you keep up with notes, assignments, and readings if you need them.
In her class you will fully learn the chapters. Requires studying, but her tests are pretty straight forward. Be prepared to study, but she gives Exam Reviews so we know what to focus on. She teaches the material very well.
Dr. Stoulig is a great professor she gives very specific guidelines. If you read the lab manual before every class and participate you will pass. She is horrible at putting grades in; if you cant handle not knowing your grade dont take her. She is a great professor she actually teaches and wants students to understand the material. An easy A.
Prof. Stoulig was definitely my favorite teacher! She explains material thoroughly and clearly, and makes the material easy to understand for all ranges of bio knowledge. She reviews material in class and lists the test material before the test. She is a great transition from high school to college. Take her!
Dr. Stoulig is very nice & caring. This class is easy as long as you read her ppts. and do the chapter assignments, which are also super easy. She gives 5 tests, but offers some bonus throughout the semester. She made biology interesting. I was in class when the pandemic hit & we all went online. She was by far the most organized. Would take again.
GBIO151 did not go well for me. She teaches really fast and its hard to follow.
Another great day in Hammond, America. Stoulig is by far the most unapproachable and manipulative teacher at SLU. Literally make you feel stupid for asking questions. Think you can pass with an A? Good joke. I finished organic with an A and barely made a C with her. If you are left no choice to take her I will be sending all the prayers your way.
I wish I could pick tough grader 100 times. This is by far the worst professor at Southeastern. She flies through lectures. Talks to students like they're children, especially when they don't understand things. And God forbid you have to miss class, even if its because you almost died in a wreck. The most cold hearted professor.
Had her for GBIO312 and GBIO341, and she was the most horrific professor. Don't expect to know your grades until a year later. And expect them to be terrible because she takes off for everything. Even grammar and spelling! Idk who messed her over, but don't miss class. She'll interview everyone to see if you were where you say you were.
You have to attend her class! Her only grades are 3 tests, the final, and 2 projects, but she takes forever to grade each. She goes through her lectures really fast. She is a tough grader and will take points off for any little thing. She also DOESN'T round grades up.
What a joke. I don't expect easy As in classes but making an A in ochem and a C in genetics is pathetic. Nitpicky with literally everything (-0.25 on an assignment, grading spelling) and her exams are outrageous. Expect your grades next century. Plenty of students are beyond angry. Won't round up even by 0.01%. THE MATERIAL IS NOT HARD, SHE IS.
I have never wrote a bad review before, but I'm writing this to prove that other people are not just bitter about their grade. Her test are incredibly confusing and she takes points off for the smallest things like spelling. Flies through lecture. Made the final cummulative, but included details that weren't on previous test. Just take anyone else
Recently had this professor during COVID and she made no changes to her normal curriculum to show that she understood students where struggling due to the pandemic. She is happy to meet with you, but will make you feel stupid when you do. I took her thinking I could finish with a B. I was less than .4 away from a B and ended with a C. DONT TAKE
If you have prior knowledge in biology you should do good in this class. She teaches like you should know everything already. Had to withdraw from her class because I never understood anything. Shes super strict hated taking her online.
She's an upperclassman teacher so she expects a lot. Doesn't teach or communicate at all (except to remind you of tests). Only tests and you're basically on your own to learn the material. At least for online classes.
Took her for online gbio. She over complicates things by a mile. Tests are HARD and you do not have much time. Not the hardest class but not the easiest. Very strict. Seems like she just wants you to better yourself but it can be really overwhelming.
Stoulig knows what she's talking about but she lectures very fast. I dropped her course mainly because I didn't like her teaching style, not because she's a bad professor. She had 3 exams, a final, a hw assignment and a research project. Exams were hard (mc, fill-in blank, drawing) because I didn't have time to study for her class.
Honestly, she is not a bad professor. Yes she goes fast in lectures and sometimes can get side tracked with her random science facts but she does know what she is talking about and if you take notes before class it is EASY to type while shes lecturing. If you aren't serious about science however, dont take her because you will fail.
Such a great teacher! Tests are straight from the powerpoints.
Dr. Stoulig is such a kind and caring professor. With GBio341 you're just taking notes on guest lecturers every week and you take 10-point quizzes online for each. You'll also do a few short papers throughout the semester but they're simple enough. I'd definitely take Dr. Stoulig for more bio classes if given the chance, she's great!
Yes, she's hard but she only sets students up for success especially if they choose medical school. This is an upper level so if you actually put in the work , it will pay off and you will learn so much. I especially liked how she focused on human disease as it relates to genetics. So specific for students wanting to persue med school.
Dr. Stoulig is dedicated to presenting a lot of material during every class period, but not in a bad way. Her teaching style excited you about biology and she is super nice. Definitely want to attend class as much as possible. Was challenging in some regards but overall enjoyable
Dr. Stoulig's class was difficult. However, she's super accessible outside of class. She's a really good lecturer and is very open to questions during and after lecture. You have to work for your grade in this class. She gives DSM modules. DO THEM!!! They will help your grade tremendously. Your grade is in your hands honestly! Study and attend clas
Dr. Stoulig is a very kind outgoing teacher and I respect her as a professor. However, unless if you have taken previous college bio courses and or are a bio major. Bio 151 can be quite challenging and would not recommend this professor if you aren't great at remembering very specific details and terms.
Well really you should read the textbook even thought she gives a PP If you know biology well than yes take her if you are smart with it & good at studying but if NOT DONT TAKE HER. Because if you don't go to lectures than you wont understand what's going on and won't pass test. She lectures straight from PP Tests multi & 50 ques. Final 100 ques
I took her for General Bio 151 and she really is not bad at all. You have to be willing to go to class and take notes and listen to her lectures. Her tests are pretty much what she lectures on and she always offers help outside of class. A lot of people complain but as long as you pay attention and study hard you will be fine.
I would not recommend this professor to anyone. Attendance is mandatory even though it's not for a grade, class time is spent with her reading over powerpoints that we have access to, and her exams are extremely hard. Other bio classes do not cover as much info as she does and have fewer exams. SHE WILL NOT ROUND YOUR GRADE AT THE END! 89.99 = B
This is the worst bio class do not take her attendance is mandatory although no points are given. The tests are super hard and meant to confuse you. I have never had so much trouble taking a class. If you don't already have a phD in bio don't take the class you will be lost. Most people are failing. There are 10 point hw assignments that do nothing.
Horrible
I love Stoulig as a person - genuinely a nice, caring professor. Expectations for grading are very high especially considering it takes a month or over to get grades back. Exams are drawing, multiple choice, and short answer. Material covered in class is very base-level while exams are extremely detail oriented. Feedback is passive aggressive.
Project is 50% of grade but in multiple parts - don't expect feedback for previous parts until the day before the next part is due. Very nitpicky with slides so yours better be perfect. Show up to EVERY CLASS or you'll miss necessary notes. A fun class but the added stress was unnecessary I think bc she teaches so many courses a semester.
THESE BAD RATINGS ARE STUPID. DR. S was the best professor I've ever had. I changed my major to Biology because of her. Yes her class isn't easy but life isn't. If you can't survive a basic 151 one class where the teacher is always available during office hours, has in depth lectures, and is passionate about the material. CHANGE YOUR MAJOR!!!
AMAZING SCIENTIST...EVEN BETTER TEACHER!!!!!!!!!
No science background=doomed.
Do not take Professor Stoulig. Incredibly unengaged with students and thinks every kid learns one way.
GBIO 241 is a pretty easy class. Just complete the assignments and you should receive a "P" for this class. The teacher communicated about the deadlines for the assignments and graded them in a timely manner.
Do not take Stoulig. She is super nice but man was the class hard. I had to study hard to pass the exams. It was super difficult if you don't already have a detailed background with bio. Final was cumulative and 100 questions.
gives good lectures and is available outside of class to answer questions, can tell she genuinely wants everyone to do well very nice. the test are very difficult though but with homework grades the class is definitely passable
This professor's tests were made to confuse the students, the test averages were so low. Sure her lectures were good but it was almost too in detail. She wanted everyone to read the chapter before we start the chapter so it would make more sense. You will need to study daily to pass this class with a good grade.
I had an exam the next day and it wasn't even posted or talked about until the day before. God forbid you have a technical difficulty because she will never let you take it a minute late. ALSO the homework takes an hour and is only worth 10 points. And to top it all off it's the end of the semester and she hasn't put one grade in.
This was one of my hardest classes as I'm not good at biology, but this professor made it 10x harder. She seems like a nice person, but tough professor. All tests are proctored and 100 questions, she sends emails all throughout the night (i got one a 4am), and she STRESSES that she does not round grades even by a half a point. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!
Test is totally different from the lectures. Expects you to know the course content before it starts.
If you want to learn genetics, take her!! She prepares students for what's coming on the MCAT/ in medical school!
She was pretty good. I took her last year, Spring 2023, but I'm leaving a review, so I don't exactly remember, but she was pretty good.
Overall not a bad professor, but you do have to STUDY A LOT otherwise you will not pass this class.
This class is a real challenge, but with dedication and tools like unstuck ai, it's definitely manageable. The professor can be tough, but engaging with the lectures and textbook helps a lot. Consistent effort is key to passing this class.
She is very to the point and as long as you communicate with her about late work, she's willing to take it. You're allowed to work ahead, there is no tests, and the longest assignment was updating your resume. She also had extra room on the field trip for one of her other classes and opened it up to us, very thoughtful, very demure.
Her online course was one of the easiest classes I have ever taken. You are allowed to work ahead, and she gives you feedback.
Awesome class and professor. There's not much I would change about it. It would be nice if things were graded within a week or so so we could receive feedback on how to improve. It would also be nice if the lectures were communicated a little better; sometimes, I would not understand something the way it was explained (or a tangent confused me).
It's really easy online. Just be prepared for 100 question exams. They're not bad.
Dr. Stoulig is AMAZING!!! she is very passionate and knowledgeable about what she lectures on. However, she is a very tough grader so you need to make sure that you know the material in her genetics class. I have taken her in 441 and seminar and passed with an A in both. She is not hard as long as you follow directions. I 10/10 recommend her.
Very easy class. Attendance is part of a grade in this course so you must attend class. Weekly quizzes are easy quizzes that are based on speakers talk. You do have 3 written assignments to complete throughout the semester but nothing extremely hard that is unmanageable. I would recommend taking her for GBIO 3410.
