This man is very hard to understand...plus, he has a real bad temper!
SPEAK ENGLISH MAN!!! I couldn't understand a word he said the whole time!
Is friendly and helpful, willing to meet and coach students outside of class.
He's not that bad. Is more than willing to help you outside of class.
Fattah is helpful, and explains everything clearly. Go 2 class, and learn.

If you listen to him you will be able to understand him!!!!!!!

Does not speak English understandably.
umm...please speak English
His accent is a little hard to finally understand, but after you do he is not that hard. He explains the material well and his tests and quizzes are not too tough.
he is a great person and will do anything to help you understand the material. His grading is fair and he works with the class for extra credit and bonus points for your grade. An excellent professor.
great professor! always willing to help you and explains material extremely well. truly a nice guy who will do anything to help you.

I had a hard time understanding him and when the class was stuck on a topic (which happend alot) he got aggrevated easily and said "i already told you the answer to that question" and would proceed to the next topic
If you go to class and attempt to listen, you'll get an A on every quiz and exam. A little book reading required.
He is a very nice man, and always willing to help, don't be afraid to ask for it. Course material is difficult but he lectures helpful notes. Study and ask for help if needed and you will do fine
He is a good chemistry teacher that likes to teach. In class, his notes are very straight forward and they are on the projector as well as blackboard. He pretty much follows the text. His tests are not very difficult. There is a weekly quiz. Homework is d
Anyone that thinks chem is going to be easy is wrong. I'll admit fattah is nice, I didn't do too bad in the class (b+) but it's still a lot of work.
Chemistry is not an easy class, but the professor will do everything he can to help you understand, if you ask for help. Tests are not terribly difficult, and there is a quiz every friday. Weekly homework also.
Its not an easy class, dont take if you arent going to study, its not an easy subject. He can somtimes be unclear, but he is more than willing to help you learn it.
I liked him! He was tough sometimes but he did make every effort to make me understand. He's always available in his office hours. Chemistry is hard but he made it look easy.
Fattah needs to stop teaching rite now!! His accent is hard to understand (but funny). He uses webassign which is very time-consuming and stressful. He purposely trys to make you fail!! He reads directly off the overhead and does not teach u chemistry!!
worst teacher ever, can't understand him, everyone is failing
Dr. Fattah is very nice and helpful. He is always available at his office hours to help. Chemistry needs math and two in one classes is hard but he made easy for me to follow.
122 was WAY harder than 121. I never study for any class and put in about 6 hours a week for this. The majority of students think he's a goober, but he's a nice guy. The class is hard but Fattah is the man
he's kinda hard, he either has really good days or really bad days
He's a great teacher, but very difficult to handle. Tests are hard if you don't know the material. Quizes are everyone Friday and can be super easy or super hard. Get past his accent, and he is a really funny teacher.
122 is def. harder than 121. Fattah's acsent is hard sometimes and he can make the class hard sometimes. Can make you feel dumb occasionally. Stick with the class-his grading system is awsome-I got F's on most of the tests and still got a B
Awful teacher. You would be better off just reading the textbook. His advice isn't very helpful. The tests aren't that hard in my opinion.
Much harder than 121.He makes this course hard. Take another prof if you can!!
class is easier if you just dont go...fattah knows what he's talking about but really he cant teach
I like his class, but tough tests. Wants you to work hard. It pays off though. He is a good teacher.
take this class if your good at chemistry, he is a quick one and not always that easy to understand, pretty funny though "bolish nail", ha i thought it was some kinda chemical.
Insulting, completely unhelpful if you have a question
Fattah is nice, not bright tho. He understands chemistry, but not reality. Here's a summary of my survival guide. Fattah Translations: denisy->density conasant->constant pear-ox-hide->peroxide corrspawnding->corresponding ferrdis->first I owe Nick->ionic lahzsha->larger formoola->formal
Dr. Fattah is challenging but that's because the material is challenging and he will help you if you ever need it. Plus all of his tests are directly from the notes he gives in class and the homeworks.
He's not very clear and you can't really understand him. He won't answer your questions right because he doesn't really know what you're saying. I wouldn't recomend this professor.
just read the book, going to class wont help at all.
Not a bad professor for this course... just make sure you pay attention and STUDY! His exams are very hard if you don't study.
I am a Chem minor and looked forward to taking Environmental Chemistry. However, almost everyone (about ALL 10 minors) from the class failed the course because of his section in aquatic chem. Definately, not helpful in this course. He's good in other lower level courses.
He's a good guy, just be sure that you GO TO CLASS, PAY ATTENTION, and STUDY. If you keep up, you'll be alright. If you slack...you're definitely screwed.

Kows material but cannot teach it at a basic level. Cannot speak english very well, i would reccomend that you do not take chemistry w/him.
He tries to understand and listen to your questions but he sometimes doesn't get what you are asking. His accent is hard to understand sometimes. There's a lot of studying you need to do on your own.

He is really really hard to understand and he is big on on-line homework other than that he is ok so far
he doesn't speak english!! he won't listen to questions when asked in front of the class, and never looks at you straight in the eye. he's smart and knows what he's doing, but has trouble expressing that due to lack of knowing english.
I like his teaching style. He is one of the best professors in this department. I know chemistry now better than before. :-)
hhahaha...Dr. Fattah is really cool! His labs were easy and he was fun to work with. Has a heavy accent, but is understandable. If you have a professional attitude and are a good worker, you will be on his good side, and have fun. One guy in my class made fun of his accent, and Dr. Fattah quickly shut him up...hahaha that was hilarious..Seriously...really cool guy
The English language is not the issue with communication with Fattah, he's brilliant, and can't teach on an amateur level. I don't think he should be teaching into/general chem, he should reserve his teaching for more advanced chem students. Considering this, the class is tough, and most likely you will need to seek help outside of the classroom.
I can not stand him!!! I went to him for help and all he did was give me a long speech on how "simple-minded" I am. He tries to be nice, but he has very smart remarks when it comes to some things. Some people like him, but most people I know are having a hard time in his class. Run far away from him if you can!!!!
he's ok. he's very helpful in his office hours too. he's funny and easy 2 reach. i wanna be a chem major and his class is good for me.
He's an interesting guy. He never looks you straight in the eye, but the class is easy, so who gives a ****. I recommend this teacher unless you are too stupid to be able to pass regular chemistry... blah
He's a good professor overall. Most labs are self-explanatory. It might take a couple of classes to get used to how he teaches, but after you do that the class is a breeze.
Professor Fattah is a smart guy but he's a TERRIBLE teacher. He is completely unhelpful and does nothing but make you feel worse about yourself.
He is definately intelligent, but that is not apparent in his teaching style. He never understands the question you are asking and continues to say the same thing over and over. Class notes are never important except for example problems. Plus, he has an attendance policy and weekly quizzes which definately do not help your grade.
Professor Fattah is a genius but he's not a very good teacher because he doesn't understand why his students don't understand complex concepts. If you go to his office hours he will explain until it's clear or you convince him that you have to leave cause your brain is bleeding from trying to understand him.
Had him Spring 06. Got an A-, I had Chem in Highschool and was rusty. Nice refresher course. DON'T TAKE HIM IF YOU'RE JUST STARTING OUT WITH CHEM. He's OK if you've already taken Chem before, but if you're just starting out new, you'll have to work v. hard just to understand some higher basic concepts. STUDY!!! Nice guy in office hours though...
He is a horrible professor, and his tests are next to impossible because he doesn't go through exactly what we need to know.
Intro to chem class so the lectures were boring but he is a good professor. He has a heavy accent but you can still understand him. He had problems answering questions and rewording things but gets the basic material across and gives you lots of practice. You can tell he is passionate about the subject. Lab was easy and fun as long as you attend.
He is a little difficult to understand at first, but when you give him a chance and accually listen to what he has to say he truly wants to help his students. I have had him for 10+ credits now and have seen him get personally upset when his students dont do well. This guy is truly out to help you if you give him a chance.
Professor Abdel-Fattah is a GENIUS! He has a bit of an accent and isn't very good speaking in front of people, but he really wants you to understand the concepts and is very willing to sit down with you one-on-one if you don't understand. Don't ask stupid questions. He expects you to have SOME prior knowledge of the subject. His lab class is great.
If you aren't interested in Chem, don't take him. He makes powerpoints from info in the textbook and then he reads them over in class. Few examples...difficult class if you aren't committed.
This lab is pretty self explanatory, he is a little hard to follow but as long as you are taking chem lecture with this lab it will be fine. He grades labs easily and is very nice.
He is a very nice teacher. I did learn a lot from him. He is very helpful and always there in the lab when I needed him.
Professor Fattah is a cool guy.He wants us to understand the labs which are sometimes hard to figure out. I like him a lot
He was totally incomprehensible in class and never spoke directy to the students. I would never take a class from him again.
He is a very good teacher. I did learn a lot from him. He is very helpful.
Although he can be a little tricky to understand at times (he often speaks rather fast), Dr. Fattah is definitely one of the greatest professors I've had so far. I definitely recommend him (at least for lab, I haven't had him for lecture).
Wasn't really happy with this professor. This is a low key class as far as requirements but its inorganic so you still need to put in the work. He was hard to udnerstand and there weren't alot of grades in the class. When I got my final grade I was confused because it was lower then what I thought I was getting
Dr. Fattah is extremely hard to understand because of his accent. This lab is an easy A. If you don't care to know what you're actually learning he is a good choice.
Absolutely love this teacher!! He doesnt grade that hard at all and is extremely helpful! I would recommend him for anybody! His class is extremely easy and he is a very funny guy! I hope to take him in another lab because of his personality. Yes, his accent at times is hard to understand but after the first few weeks its easier to understand him.
HORRIBLE. He can't simplify chemistry down to the level of an intro level non majors class. No one understood anything he said. All he did was read his powerpoints. He is always late to class and was completely unhelpful. Each test followed a different format. Nothing ever made sense. He doesn't speak to the class. Take someone else if possible.
He is a hard teacher because there aren't many ways to earn points, so be sure to study, keep up, and do well on his tests.
He is very nice and helpful. His accent is not hard to get used to once you've been in the class a while. There aren't very many opportunities for grades but tests are very easy if you study. This class's material reminded me a lot of gen chem, and there weren't a lot of new concepts.
I love Fattah! He's an easy grader and is really clear and helpful. Definitely take Fattah for lab.
Always willing to help and answer questions and makes sure the material in class is known. BUT we have a quiz once a week and you do NOT want him for lab...he is a very strict grader. I spend over 4 hours a week on chemistry and I am barely pulling a B.We use mastering chemistry but he does not teach on that. He's okay if you are good chem.
Professor is very smart. He can be funny but sometimes expects students to know more than they should and then questions why we wouldn't know the answers. Is helpful if you go see him for office hours. Gives weekly quizzes so go to class!
DR. Fattah is a very nice proffesor and he is very helpful in the lab. He helped me when I needed help in an experiment and was very nice in explaining the stuff to me. He ia always there in his for office hours. Go ahead an choose him to be your professor.
Awesome professor. If you get behind in lecture, he will catch you up before you are left floundering in a lab. Daily mini quizzes but they are easy if you look over safety concerns for that days lab. Easy grading policy, I pull an A and only spend an hour on each lab write up. Very friendly and concerned that you understand the material.
Dr. Fattah's class was pretty easy and he is very friendly and helpful. It is mandatory to wear your safety goggles and you write weekly lab reports and take weekly quizzes (usually 3 or 4 questions long). I definitely recommend his class.
Really nice professor, but lectures are really long. The tests are a lot harder than his quizzes, but manageable. He is willing to help you learn, but sometimes isn't very clear. The class itself wasn't bad, the only problem is that the final is 40% of your grade...
Dr. Fattah is a very nice professor, though he is pretty difficult to understand most of the time. He grades fairly, so if you try then you can get the grade you want.
Dr. Fattah made this class much harder than it should have been. He relied on you learning the material by yourself from your textbook first and then giving you examples of the theories in practice. If you can learn chemistry and math solely from a textbook, you'll be fine - I could not and life was very difficult.
At first he was really scary, kicked some girl out of lab on day 2 in front of everyone because she did not have her notebook. However as the year went on everybody grew to like him. He usually helped you with calculations and made the labs as short as possible. Just make sure you're prepared for the pre class quiz and write every lab report!
He leave lab half the time and youll be stuck trying to figure out the experiment or where to find him. He acts all nice but as soon and someone does anything he doesnt like he gets snappy. His powerpoints are no help and his hand writing is chicken scratch. He will respond your question at 1:32 in the morning about an assignment due THAT day.
Dr. Abdel-Fattah is a nice professor. He tells jokes sometimes. The class is difficult, but I am not great at chemistry. There is a 3 question quiz every week but it is usually pretty easy. He has an accent but it becomes easier to understand after a few classes.
Dr. Fattah has a hot & cold dynamic. One day he is kind and cracks jokes, and the next day he insults student work or randomly leaves for 3/4 of the lab. He has limited office hours and is not receptive to questions via email (Can take a 1 week+ to respond). If consistency and availability are important to you, choose a different lab professor.
Dr. Fattah played an important role in my chem education. He is very passionate about his research and the education of others. He's a very busy guy but he is always approachable and does his best to make sure your education in the classroom best prepares you for life after college. I highly encourage you to get to know Dr. Fattah outside class!
I genuinely recommend not take his class. He is very inconsistent and is never present. He leaves the classroom for around 80% of it and never grades or gives any feedback on labs reports and notebooks. Takes a week or more to respond to any emails and frequently lets his ego get in the way of his teaching.
His class was pretty straightforward: we had a lab, submitted our lab notebooks, completed a quiz, and then wrote a couple lab reports. He does have an accent so it can be hard to understand him, but he does try ensure that everyone knows what they are doing for the lab. He's slow to grade assignments and most were not posted until after the final
Dr. Fattah is an amazing professor to take if you like to work independently. If you are the kind of person who is not afraid to ask questions and is willing to put effort into your relationship with your profs, you will love Dr. Fattah. He tends to favor those who work independently, aske questions, and are interested in his work.
I took Dr. Fattah for two upper-level chemistry classes and absolutely loved them both! The content was always very interesting to me and he taught it very well. His exams were not too difficult at all and he didn't assign too much homework. He is one of my favorite professors at CNU!
I had both Hahn and Fattah. Fattah was a far better professor in that he was not nearly as harsh, didn't make us do unnecessary work, and was a lot more caring with students. He lets you have the week to do calculations, is an easy grader, and its a fairly relaxed setting. The lab quizzes are super simple as well!
I have taken him for both 121L and 122L, and plan to take CHEM435 with him (I am not a chem major). Just show up to class prepared and you will get an A.
The class is straight forward: do the pre lab notebook, follow the procedure on the manual, put in effort on the notebook/ report, and a weekly quiz (do all this, you'll be fine). He can be intimidating sometimes when you are trying to ask questions during lab, but he does very good pre lab lectures that tell you exactly what you need to do
There's a lot to do before lab begins, not that the preparation is hard. Use the template that he shows during the first class to do the sds. He's funny, if strict, and wants his students to succeed. Lab would've been harder without a partner. He is not tech savvy. Be on time. Print the lab before class. Don't forget your goggles.
Funny guy, sometimes hard to understand his accent
