Loved him. Coming to class is beyond important because that's the only way you're going to be able to understand what to do. The quizzes and tests are not hard if you do the homework. I got an A - just do EVERY homework assignment, take good notes, come to class, and HAVE A SCIENTIFIC CALCULATOR. I didn't need the textbook once.
If you need to take Quant 2 take it with MR. B. Yes he does have a thick accent, but he is an amazing teacher. He is very helpful. don't miss class especially the classes after the quizzes. If you review the practice quiz, your guaranteed an A on the test, there are no trick questions. IDK if hes hot, seems like he has put on some LBs. Great Class
Definitely a great professor! You MUST come to all classes, the material isn't easy but it's not the hardest stuff either. You don't need the book, make sure to take good notes, ask questions and to all the HW and quizes and you'll get an A.
He is a very decent professor. Taking notes and attending classes regularly is the key to success. His tests come from his quizzes and homework. I would definitely recommend him if you wish to learn and do well.
Def take Mr. B! He has a good sense of humor, and gnerally wants you to do well in his class!
Best professor that I have had since attending UCF. No joke, he not only wants you to succeed but wants to make economics applicable and understandable. I got A's on all of the tests except for one (with studying of course). He might be a bit hard to understand to some people but I understood him without any problems. Awesome professor! =)

You don't need the book. I don't have any complaints. This is the best professor you could take the course with. He cares about if you succeed. Your grade is made up of pretests, tests, homework, and an optional final. Go to class and copy the problems on the board, do the HW, look at the power points. You'll be fine. I got an A.
Truly recommend! Great professor, read the notes and the chapters from the book and you should have no problems with the quizzes or tests.
This class was an easy A. The answer to the quizzes you can find online and the test is exactly like the quizzes but formatted a little different. I recommend taking him!
Took online at Valencia Osceola. 3 test + final, lowest score dropped. Easy B + little bit effort –A if fallow schedule and instructions. Respond quickly on email.
Great professor!! very helpful! He teaches exactly what's going to be on the test. Stays after class if you have any questions for the homework. Drops lowest test grade. You have to study but you will learn in his class. Must take him!!
Really helpful. I took him on my first semester on regional campus and love it. All you have yo do is take good notes and do the connect assignments. I knows what he is teaching and he knows how to explain it. Any question you have he will answer it. I hope he teaches all my finance classes. Best professor ever
Amazing teacher and easy going. He does have an accent but he makes sure to answers questions you have and clarifies. Even though the homework has little impact on grade, it helps on the tests. Study the quizzes and don't bother with the book. An A is not impossible, even if you are not strong at statistics.
I took Quantative II from him and he was very helpful and tried to encourage all students to do well for exams.

In order to get an A in the class you must follow the syllabus. The tests are quite simple after you do the homework and take the quizzes. Very important don't forget the dates, he won't reopen the assignments for you. But they are open for months ;). The assignments can be taken from anywhere. He will always he will answer promptly.
I must say Mr. B is amazing. I asked him 1000s questions and he always answered. The book is needed. The notes will not suffice. He will stick to the syllabus and won’t reopen the assignments. Those are open for weeks however. Informative class not too difficult. Easy B and with a little bit of effort A.
I do not think any of the economic professors are good at teaching to the UCF community. He is rude and does not seem to care about what you have to say. I think the hw/quizzes do not teach you anything for life, except passing the class. I would say self-teach the material or take it at Harvard/MIT for better results.
I took the class at Rosen. It was a pleasure having MR. B. The experience in the course has been one of my favorites at UCF. I appreciated how helpful he was in ensuring that we were able to understand the material (the few of us that went to class at least) and how he made his time available for us if we had any problems with the material.

Tarek Buhagiar was an amazing professor and extremely helpful throughout the semester. First two exams were a piece of cake and true to the quizzes, and he allows you to use a half a page as a cheat sheet! The only reason i got a B was because I didn't study for the third test or the final and still passed both :P He's also hilarious!
Not an easy subject, however, Great Teacher. Dr. B knows how to simplify difficult concepts/formulas. Easy B. I did not get an A because I honestly did not study for the final exam. Take him.
Easy Online Class. Homework assignments similar to the quizzes that are similar to the tests that is similar to the final. All information is either online or in book. Great Teacher definitely recommend.
You know when you sign up for a course where you work so hard and fail then you get depressed because you wasted lots of money and months of time? Yeah I can not relate because.. THIS GUY IS SO AMAZING. I took ECO online due to my busy schedule and managed to pull off a 94. Hes the best prof ever man. Would totally take this class again.
This course is very challenging and Prof. Buhagiar was the perfect professor to teach it. He explains things clearly and helps you understand the material. He responds to e-mails promptly. Make sure you go to class and keep up with the homework assignments. An A is achievable if you study the material. I highly recommend Prof. Buhagiar.
His accent is a little thick but he does a great job explaining the problems and concepts. Always available for help and often ends class early but sticks around in case anyone needs to stay and get extra clarification. Problems on tests are exactly like the quizzes (which he goes over in detail after they close).
Go to class - he makes the concepts so much easier to understand. I practiced the class problems & similar ones in the book. The class is not easy but you will do well if you do the work. He has been one of the best professors for me at UCF! He is available to help you and wants his students to do well. Take him if you get the chance!!!
Um, anyone who is not good at math, this class is a nightmare. He RUSHES through the material in class, and boy let me tell you, he will humiliate you for asking pretty much any question. In fact he will cut you off and patronize you for not knowing how to do it before you're even done asking. I have to withdraw because I need more instruction.
Instructor is good, but the material is complex, there's a learning curve it and it requires study. If you learn the homework, you will be fine on the quizzes. Print the quiz and study the answers and how you got to them. Follow this patten and you'll do fine on tests.
This class material is very difficult, but Mr. B is awesome. He teaches fast, quick to the point. I liked his teaching style, covered the material and if you had questions about the content, you stay after class.
This class was not as bad as most people made it out to be. Prof Buhagiar will genuinely try to help you pass his class but he can be rather blunt. He goes very quickly through material but his office hours are helpful and you can stay after class. Go over the material and an A is very possible. Don't buy the book!
This class was a nightmare. At times, it's hard to understand him because of his accent and he goes through the material rather quickly. I would recommend sitting in the front and taking lots of notes. The best way to learn is to teach yourself by doing the homework, watching Youtube videos, and from doing the quizzes. A solid "B" is attainable.

He tries to keep the class interested. Posts PP's online, but leaves out some concepts so you have to go to class to fill them in. 3 quizzes before each test. 4 tests throughout the semester. Majority of questions on test are directly from quizzes. Was understanding of late students as it was off the main campus. Quiz answers are all online.

At the beginning of the semester he splits you into groups of 4 or 5 and you do all in-class work in those groups. Class consisted of him lecturing for 5 minutes and handing out a worksheet that was graded for correctness. This was every single class. Every time I asked a question he wouldn't say anything helpful. Overall it was a waste of time.
The class is taught using the flip method. Dealing with people in your group is tough. Most of them not helpful. There is good amount of work to be completed before and after class. Short lectures. Every class in class assignments, tough to do if your group ain't good. He helped me. Getting an A is possible only if you make a good effort.
Coming from someone that has literally never recieved a B at UCF ever, obviously his "flip teaching method" needs to be reconsidered. This class was by far the worst one I have ever experienced. He doesn't teach whatsoever, and if your cool teaching yourself the entire subject and googling how to solve probelms, be my guest. Take anyone else.
Good professor. Class attendance mandatory. If you go to his office, he explains everything VERY thoroughly. It's be impossible to not understand something as long as you always read, ask, and do the assignments before class. Tough class thoug. Most team members not helpful. Easy B. An A possible. I liked the fact that he made his class a bit more engaging and interesting through his use of humor, which is incredible because being a long class, it can be challenging to be engaged throughout the whole two to three hours. He genuinely cares about the students' success.
A three hour economics lecture is horrific to sit through. He's a good guy, and a pretty good teacher, but the material is so dry that it doesn't matter. He's not a bad option if you need to take economics, but I would't go out of my way for his class.

Tarek is a smart professor! The math for the exams are cake. However, you never know what concepts questions you're going to get. The tests can be hit or miss depending on whats on your note card. Also, group class assignments every class. Get ready to look up most of these assignments on Chegg. Buy a Chegg account! You're going to need it!
Took online. Clear syllabus with whole semester outlined. Simple class when taken online. Easy A. Some questions on quizzes and tests are not verbatim but rather concept based so some studying is needed. Overall not a hard class.

Mr. B is so awesome. The class is easy and he makes it easy to understand and is always helpful. That being said, I took this class 3 times. Failed the first time because I skipped too much. Second time, missed the final. So.. don't do that. I'm a serious guy but Mr. B had me busting out laughing during classes, he's funny and a great Professor.

He makes managerial economics really tolerable. He's funny and the participation isn't hard, just explain a problem on the board one time through the whole semester. His powerpoints are long but he simplifies it during class. The group work is really helpful and lets you get the work done fast. Remember to show to class.

I say no to the textbook use because the ebook is useless. Since UCF switched to the reduced seating class structure, this class sucks. In the 5 class meet dates we are not taught any material. This class isnt hard, but it is not easy. The exams are NOTHING compared to the learnsmart and homework assignments, theyre harder. I dont really like the group assignments & that we need to meet up 5 times a semester. I hated the eBook, buy/rent the actual textbook!! The professor is really nice though, and he loves what he teaches.

I took this class in the REAL format, math is not meant to be taught in this manner. However, he really through us a few bones. Giving crazy extra credit for doing the first few assignments on time. Dropping bad class assignments, and bad tests. He is a good man, that doesn't make the material any easier to understand.

Took this class in REAL format. Make sure you get 100's on all HW + In-class activities, because the tests are very hard. Homework doesnt relate to much to what is on the test. Make sure you study what you do in class because he tests off of that. Also study the practice tests on Cengage. This class was a challange for me. Tarek isnt very friendly.

This professor is so far the most challenging teacher Ive had in college. He has made Quant 2 more difficult than my summer half session business finance and intermediate accounting I classes. He does not provide the resources to do well on his tests and I have no idea where he pulls his questions from. Good luck, because studying wont help
This professor is one of the least helpful and least responsive professors that I have ever had! His exam reviews consist of nothing more than the learning objectives of each chapter (which are on the first page of every chapter and super unhelpful) that is, if he even gives you one! Instructions are very unclear and excel work remains unexplained!
This class was pretty hard but Ive still gotten an 90, 85, and 95 on his exams and just need an 80% on the final to finish with an A. I feel like others just dont know how to study or something because this class isent impossible like they say. Study the in class assignments and test preps and youre fine.
First test easy. Other tests and final can be a little difficult. Be very careful while reading the questions on the tests because one word can change everything.
The REAL classes make this class impossible. There's no in person lecture and the professors online lectures are awful and 8-15 minutes long. Not enough time. Powerpoints make no sense. Prepare to grind out a grade unless you're great at teaching statistics to yourself. Tests are sometimes similar to online practice tests. Hardest class I've taken.
Very straight foward class. Not the hardest class but there's no in person lecture and his video lectures are 10 minutes per chapter then you watch videos provided from the textbook to learn the rest. Not being taught in person makes this class harder than it should. Class is test heavy so do very well on the tests.
Never watched a video and got a B+ somehow, however his policies and tests are unorthodox, which includes saying that he's going to drop a test in the syllabus and ignoring it in the final grade calculations. If you took Stats you'll have a nice baseline like I did, otherwise, good luck
Tarek isnt great but he isnt terrible either. Tests are pretty challenging and require you to really understand concepts and definitions. Make sure you and your group members come to the class sessions prepared as he only grades the paper of a random member from each group, and everybody in that group gets graded off of it.
He is the only professor you can take. So there are no other options but dealing with his rudeness and he does not give a crap about any of his students. Do not listen to what people mentioned on here about him dropping a test. He does absolutely nothing to grades. Prepare yourself for challenges.....
Awful professor. His lectures? Just him reading off of the powerpoint. In class? He says "check Cengage" for ANY questions. Do not even bother asking the TA's any questions because they will just redirect them to this guy who is rude, mean, and disrespectful. Class isn't super hard, despite this, so that was nice. The notecard is great, he is NOT.
One word- Oof. He's not a horrible professor, but the way that these classes are now structured and the way he does his video lectures don't mix. This class was a struggle, and I don't think I would've passed if it wasn't for my group. You're basically teaching yourself. He allows you to bring a flashcard to the rest which is a life saver.
This class was better than I thought it would be. Tarek is a good teacher but he is never happy, I don't think I saw him smile once. Homework is time consuming. Tests are not too bad because he bases them off of test prep questions that he provides.
Worst professor I've ever had. All this man does is read off a powerpoint, doesn't explain anything, just reads and expects us to understand. Then he gets triggered and berates us over email when we don't understand the classwork. The problem is not the REAL format, it is professors like this that don't make good videos and CANT TEACH.
Reads off of a powerpoint for a math class... You'll learn from the homework website. Very mean spirited and will not consider anything or make accommodations.
Prof. Buhagiar isn't the best. His "mini lctures" are terrible, the only way to learn is from the lectures provided by Cengage. The professor has a heavy accent making the lectures hard to understand, but he's funny sometimes. I took this course over the summer and I didnt have a problem, but just make sure you're ready to grind.
The class was REAL format, so most of my interaction with him was in his office hours. He was very approachable, and was clearly interested in helping me understand the concepts. The online lectures were very entertaining, and his Powerpoint slides were most of what I put on my test cheat sheets. Put in just a bit of effort, and you'll enjoy an A.
His videos & handwriting are extremely difficult to understand & are inaccurate. He gives you extra credit at the end if you don't email him (what?). TA's were a great help. First 3 tests are a mix of math and conceptual while the last is cumulative and conceptual (supposedly). There's no other professor for this class so plan on going to tutoring.

If you forget to sign in the attendance sheet even once, he will not give you credit for any work even if your teammates say you were there and he has your work for the activity, you will not receive ANY credit. TA's are the teachers and you will be teaching yourself, unless you want to visit him outside of class.
Literally watched the videos that explained how to do the homework problems to get study for this class. His own lecture videos weren't helpful because he reads straight from his powerpoint. Thank god the TAs are helpful, just pray that you have a solid group for the in-class assignments.
The class itself is awful. The format is almost completely online, so you're taught through standard videos that are nowhere near as specific as they should be. The videos and assignments are usually very broad and don't go into depth on what you'll need to know on the homework. Probably wouldn't have passed the class if it weren't for classmates.
i hate to say this, but i've never had such a poor class experience. unfortunately, it was all due to the prof. the ta's rock, they basically run the class. prof. buhagiar rarely talks to us and always seems annoyed. he isn't understanding nor flexible. i feel like i would've done sm better if prof. was involved and made lecture videos.
He seems like a strict guy, but he's probably one of the most caring professors you'll ever take. Visit him during his office hours and he'll give you his undivided attention and help you with any question in the world. A great man.
UCF really needs to rethink their REAL format, as it only gives the professors an excuse to be lazy. This isnt a hard class, but youre literally paying to teach yourself and it gets really frustrating. He also cancelled half his office hours almost every week, and the TAs arent very helpful. Be prepared to be annoyed.

QMB 3200 not an easy class. Helpful during office hours, free candies do I need to say more? For a B Go over the test prep questions, flash cards and in class assignments. One of the TA is very helpful. Overall an ok experience.
Only teacher that I have seen available for Microeconomics at UCF, so basically get ready to suffer through the class. The homework is easy just tedious and is ALL math related but when it comes to the tests it is the exact opposite. He does not teach at all, in class you work on math problems with other students for a grade, you teach yourself!
This a REAL format class. The format in unique to the college of business. His videos -lectures are clear and to the point. My main interaction with him was during his office hours. He was very approachable. He went over each test with me and that helped me immensely. I dont like the group work. Teammates are not reliables.
If you get bad teammates the class is difficult. He was better than expected. Not an easy grader. I had to study to pass. He is pretty funny when he wants. The TAs are ok. The material is not simple. Make sure to go over the test prep, homework and in class stuff.
I hate tho Format. The class is bad for you if you have to commute from out of town to meet with a tutor or the professor. I have a demanding job. The professor has too may students. Having said that he was patient and helpful with me, but the drive and parking unbeatable. Make this class online.

The class was kind of hard. The professor is always available in his office. He follows the rules in his syllabus. I watched the videos did the homework and didnt have many problems. The TAs are clueless. I would advice you to change group if your teammates arent helpful. I did, some are not ready for this class.
I liked the format of the class. not too difficult. As he has told us at the begginning of the senester go to his office for free candies and to get help. I agree with some of the comments, for some students this type of format might be too difficult. You need to be proactive.
I took QMB 3200 and ECO 2023. He is a very caring man. He will help you as much as he can as long as he doesnt have to violate the rules in his syllabus, he is very strict about that. He reminds me of my dad. You must be prepared to study. Make sure to watch the lectures, understand how to solve the lab activities and do the homework.
This class is much more difficult than it should be due to Tarek being the professor. His videos are difficult to understand and he skips steps in the problems. Basically he reads off the answer key in his videos. Also he makes lots of rounding and other computational errors which causes more confusion. it takes a 92 to get an A and no EC is given.
MR. B convinced me not to drop the class. Lucky he did. I studied and with a little bit of help I got an A. The material is quite hard. Most of my teammates useless. A very nice man.
Not an easy class. The use of Excel was very useful. I was able to find a good job because it. Nice short lectures. I dont know how students pass the class without studying. If you want my advise, take the class only if you have an easy class schedule.

Interesting prof. I didnt think this class was really hard but you need to piece together things from the sources. This is in the real format so you need to teach yourself a little. How do you get an A? Watch his videos, excel vids for homework, do practice homework and test preps before exams. Final exam is just conceptual which is nice :))
Warning: the tests are NOTHING like the homework or in class assignments. The work assigned was very simple, mostly basic math and graphs. However, the exams are all conceptual, READ THE TEXTBOOK. He also doesnt care about his students and is very rude.
I disagree with some of these comments. MR. B. is very sweet. It helped me a lot not only with the material. If you want extra help just stop by his office. it is an online class. In class you work on problems similar to the homework Q. The questions on the test are sometimes identical or similar to the questions you do for H. or in class.
Mr. B seems a strict and serious professor. He is not. I agree with some if you take the initiative he and his TAs will do anything to help you. Having said that you will need to study a little. Not a super easy class. But definitely not an impossible class. Good luck
Group work with a bad team really brings down your grade. Would have had an A if not for them. The class itself is not hard as long as you read the textbook and do the hw. Only problem I had was how rude he is when talking to the class. Sounded like he did not care about us. When I asked a question he told me to go ask the TA's like I didn't matter
The class is not too difficult too many students. I dont know how Mr. B does it he has so many students. He tried to be always available especially in his office. Lucky he had the TAs. In class. There should have been more. He is kind of an old guy.
took both micro and macro. Neither for lazy students. More math In micro. weekly homework and quizzes. Online textbook and homework through connect 5 in-class group assignments. Go over the slides and watch the videos. The TAs are at Times a little clueless. Considering the format of the class as helpful as he could be. Not a bad guy.
I liked the class. I like working at my own pace. the material can be difficult. go over the homework questions, the in class assigments and Learnsmart. He doesnt take bs form students. He is a nice old man. If you need Individual help I would advice you to go to his office during office hours.
Since this class is in the REAL format, I can't speak for Professor Buhagiar's teaching skills. You'll have to teach yourself. But his class is very doable, put in a bit of an effort and you'll get an A. You get a notecard for every test including the final, and the final is all conceptual. He also gives you a chance to makeup an ALL session.
I usually dont leave comments. This time I will make an exception. Mr. B must be the kindest person I've met. He did everything to help me. Difficult material but not impossible. You must get a good team. 4 tests + 10 h. Assignments + 5 Lab. He loves Economics. I would advice you to talk to him.
The professor doesn't really teach. You're in charge of teaching yourself and your 2 group members who probably didn't read the material. Honestly, I would've loved this class a little more if I had TA's I could actually talk to. Since this class is so dependant on good TA's, it's a real toss-up if you'll ever get some help.
The class is online. there are lessons to watch from the professor. The book also has videos. 10 homework assignments + 4 tests + 5 laboratories. One TA is really helpful. The professor is also helpful if you reach out to him. Overall not too difficult!
This is basically a self-study class. The professor posts lecture videos along with the videos the textbook provides but they're what you make of it. If you think solely doing the assignments and attending the group sessions will make you get an A or pass... it won't. Exams are hard!! Study, study, study.

This is an online class - REAL - the prof has lectures- the book has videos. 4 tests - 5 Labs and homework. He will help you if you ask. He Is very sweet. The TAs sometimes are confused. If you are not proactive you will not succeed. It is not an easy class
I struggled to get a C. but it was my fault. I never looked at the lessons or opened the book. if you need help the professor and his TAs are always available. Economics is a little dry. Did I mention he has candies in his office :-). It is an online class with labs. The questions on the tests are similar to the homework
Coming into college, I wanted to be a business major. After this class and the terrible "REAL" format, I will be changing my major due to the fact that every business class is self-taught. CORRUPT! Prof. B is not a nice guy and almost seems to chuckle when you bring up a problem in the class. Constantly tells you "Go to TA" are his exact words
The prof is ok. The lectures are online. He is available in his office. The Labs are a just ok. The TAs are also ok. Most of the questions on the test come from the homework and the Labs. I was expecting a super difficult class but it isnt. It is just online.
The class is test heavy. REAL format. Online lectures and online homework. Will help with any question you have in his office. The Lab can be challenging because of your teammates and the TAs that are at times confused. I still dont understand why we had the LAbS.
I had him for Micro and QMB 2. Both classes use the REAL format. He has online lectures and online homework for both classes. He will help you in his office with anything. He is a no-nonsense guy. the REAL format just means online. it could have been worst.
Professor has a pretty thick accent, and the textbook lecturer online has a thick accent as well. Mixed modality used in this course is painfully annoying, especially if you've never taken an economics class before
The material is easy and really just basic statistics. The problem with this class is the exams. The exams are almost fully conceptual and hardly any math. This really hurt my grade because the first exam I studied what was on the study guide but I really hit hard on the math. It didn't go so well because of all the conceptual questions.
The material is not difficult. Each test but the final had 8-9 problems (homework problems and labs) the rest concepts from (flash cards, test prep, slides). The final is all concepts.
Professor Buhagiar does not really give students the time of day. It does not seem like he cares if his students succeed or not. Both he and his TAs cancel office hours so much it seems like they dont have any. I would not recommend him to anyone.
Mr. B Is very helpful during his office hours, the TAs not as much, most of the time are confused. If you want to do well you must study. Make sure to go over the homework assignments for the tests. I didnt like the Real format but you need to go to class only 5 times!
This class is mostly online, and he posts some short videos that help with the homework. Exams are somewhat difficult, but all multiple choice. He's kind and wants to help you succeed, but you must try in order to pass with an A. If your goal is a C or higher, then this should be an easy class.
A lot complain about this class but if you paid any attention in Stat or Quant 1 this should be a really easy course. (I took stat like 4 years ago and this class was a breeze) The homework is really manageable and his videos walk you through everything. His accent is heavy but he's understandable and has subtitles on his videos.
Probably the worst class I have ever taken in my life and it blows my mind that UCF allows this class to be taught in the format that it is taught. This is a Business Stats class, its difficult. You are required to watch online lectures and teach yourself the material and take tests on different material that was not taught. Absolutely terrible.
All he does is read off a powerpoint word by word and expects us to understand.
Not a lot of homework and most of it is easy! The meetings are helpful to understand the material a little better. Isn't too bad if you're okay with teaching yourself! He has helpful online videos + guides. Kind professor + gives you candy/chocolate for going to his office hours!
Difficult but doable! How to do well: 1. Watch every textbook vid and do the example questions after every video 2. Do learnsmart assignment 3. Watch professor video lecture 4. Complete HW (2 tries) 5. For tests, rework the HW problems. They give you the solutions. Parts of the test have SIMILAR questions from HW. Worked for me Good Luck!
The format of the class makes it more difficult than it should be. The material isn't too difficult, but you must watch lecture videos to be successful. He is a good professor, but you will have to work for your grade. He is usually available to help outside of class.
This is so far the worst summer class I have ever taken. ridiculous hard, the time frame does not help me at all. I regret not taking it in the fall the first time and having more time available to learn the subject. The profesor and TAs are willing to help more in the fall/spring. If you dont want to fail take it during a longer semester!
I am good at math and did bad during the summer because this class is too short. This class is hard with a reduced time frame. I took it again during the spring semester and passed with a A. Summer format doesnt help students.
(You need to have the profesor in person to pass the subject, gives good explanations in class but not in His videos)
If you can handle instructing yourself with the help of classmates, then you will do fine in this class. Professor is kind but has errors in his numbers throughout the semester videos which can be confusing if you don't catch them yourself. His accent is strong so can be hard to understand. He lacks at explaining how he determined answers in video.
in the REAL format, you are teaching yourself EVERYTHING. This is a statistics class, me personally, I HATE statistics. This class requires you to teach yourself all the material as his videos are a little difficult to understand sometimes. However, if you have taken a stats class in the past before it might be easier for you.
Amazing textbook choice for Micro. Authors made excellent video content that is embedded in the Ebook. Got print version too of economics (comprehensive of Micro+Macro). Highly recommend you take Micro before Macro. The other instructor's book choice for Macro is not good. I had to refer to my Micro book for help in Macro.
The class is very hard yes, but he gives good example vids. Watch the example videos when doing the homework, watch the pre-ALL example videos before the ALL sessions and you should receive a good grade on all the assignments. The tests are hard because everyone is focusing on the math when the tests are concept heavy. Use study tool for the tests.
Even though class seems heavy, he iOS always ready to help with understanding the material. You have to attend just 6 classes and work in group. Tests are similar to howework and class assignments, so if you participate, you will pass.
This class does deal with difficult material but if you love stats you would love this class! The Professor really knows what he is talking about. I loved his review labs in person. He made great videos going over problems too!
Honestly, this class isn't too bad if you put in the work for it. The material isn't super easy but if you put in the work then you should be fine. Due to the COVID pandemic, Tarek provided students with a couple of major opportunities to help their grades which were really nice. Class is test heavy so give yourself time to study.
The notes are so basic but the exams are difficult. The homework got a little difficult at times. I did well on the first exam and that's it. He doesn't teach the material, you have to learn it yourself. The ALLs are graded for accuracy. The final was definitions. Good luck with this class honestly.
The course is not hard but a bit challenging, as long you study ahead and the material you should be good. And if you have a good memory from any statistic classes you took probably it will be much helpful. The professor is really nice, I went to his office and passed some candies. Maybe he barely help in class, but we will help for any question.

I took Tarek online because of the coronavirus so I don't know how much it differs from taking him in person. However, online was not easy, most people failed regardless. To pass the exams you have to study the homework and do the test-prep (cengage). Most of the test is conceptual but math has a big impact on your grade. make sure to know the stuf
This is a very hard class. You must work hard to get through it. Tarek takes a beating from many students but he does care at the end of it all. Homework and tests are very difficult. I wish I had tips other than good luck!
Very good professor, cares about his students and is always willing to help. It is required you attend the group meetings. If you dont understand something in the group assignments youre better off asking him he will get straight to the point and make it easy to comprehend. Always available for office hours!
This class wasn't too bad for being fully online during 6 weeks. It definitely was a lot of work but if you put in the effort you will succeed. -
Im sure COVID circumstances changed the structure of this class, but I didnt enjoy it at all. I learned everything on my own or asked people on GroupMe for help. We were only allowed to reach out to TAs, there was no real connection to the prof. TAs would make human mistakes & be condescending & defensive towards students helping them.
Class was difficult but manageable. Homework was hard at times, and there was lots of learnsmarts. Due to the online learning, tests had to be taken at a certain time with no exceptions. If you take it online make sure you can be there during the time slot you signed up for. Tests were nothing like the HW and questions were often unclear.
If you think youll do poorly on an exam, dont even take it as he doesnt allow for retakes. He only allows for make-ups in which you must have chosen to not even attempt the test or that grade will immediately become permanent.
I took him for Summer A (2020) online. If you want to be done with this class by the end of June and don't mind putting in work (compared to regular summer class) then this prof is a decent choice. If you take notes in his videos you should be able to complete the assignments but they might take extra time. Don't slack off and study for the tests.
Absolutely awful professor. If you are not a good test taker DO NOT take him! he weighs the test SO heavily. tells you theyre hard but doesnt give too much helpful info to study off of. and then tells you to do other assignments to raise your grade but they dont move your grade at all. Have fun on the test too. Theyre hard. Made school hell.
His lectures are terrible he will teach the same concepts multiple times within one unit DIFFERENTLY every time leaving you confused and ready to fail all your tests :) His test are ridiculously hard he purposely words his questions to be confusing as well as the answers. And if you fail 1 test, and did well on all other hw you still fail :)
This is basically a self-taught class with lots of reading to understand the material. If you fail the first test, you basically have to get A's on the 2nd and 3rd test to pass the class. Tests are hard and not that similar to the HW. Homeworks and Learnsmarts BARELY move your grade up. Discussions are very lengthy and there is no extra credit.
Homework and assignments really don't count for much, the 2 tests are 50% of your grade and final is 20%. Do not underestimate the exams like I did... he as a professor is nice enough and the content overall is pretty simple if you just do the reading and learnsmart modules.
Tests are much harder than the HW and Learnsmarts. I found the HW assignments annoying b/c I knew they wouldn't help me understand enough to pass the tests. The few discussion posts are okay but your comment has to be what you would grade a fellow student and I think that is lazy on the prof part. Overall, meh.
Tests are weighted heavily and are NOTHING like the homework/assignments. There's not much work aside from reading/taking notes. Tests are prob the hardest part of this course bc it makes up your whole grade. You have to teach yourself and read and take notes. Could be a lot better, but he makes his own test questions, and its worded weirdly.
Basically only the tests count. I do great on all other assignments but tests drop your grade so much in this class. Good prof and his lecture videos are fine. homework is extensive and hard.
You'll do well in this class if you put in the work and understand economics easily. Economics is not one of my strongest suits, but I was able to do fine in the class due to taking good notes. The tests are harder than the homework, so be prepared to study. Reading the textbook helps a lot. This professor is not a bad choice at all.
I have had Professor Buhagiar for two of my courses--Microeconomics and Quant 2. Despite the pandemic, he has been just as hard on us. He doesn't really know how to teach so we have to teach ourselves and utilize TA hours which aren't THAT helpful either unless you go to the right TA lol.
Class is clear and concise when things are due and how they're graded. You know what to expect, never a pop quiz. Weekly homework and excel homework to do but you get a week off after week of the test. 3 tests that combine for 50% of your grade so don't flop. Test are not that bad, you need to be up to speed with the material, avgd 96 on 2 so far
I wish I would've taken the other reviews more seriously and not taken this teacher. Please don't!! It is very obvious that he has not adapted well to complete online learning and the majority of his students suffer because of it.
I think Tarek has good intentions with this class he is just very awful at teaching. His " lectures" are him reading a power point on a YouTube video. It's pathetic that this is what higher education has come to. The class is not impossible, I got C's on the test (they're concept heavy). I must give credit to one TAs they were all very helpful
HW & Textbook on cengage. There is 2 tests & a final exam. Never watched his lectures, only watched cengage videos. Not a hard class, but you do have to put in effort. Conceptual questions on tests are from adaptive tests (not graded) and HW on cengage. Crammed the day before every test. The final was mostly conceptual.
You can tell this professor does not like to teach this course in the REAL format. Obviously this is a really analytical course and shouldn't even be taught in the REAL format. This professor isn't bad but he wants nothing to do this format. You have teach yourself everything. COBA should return to lecture capture especially for this class.
There is no way to breeze through this class. If you read the book and really take time to understand it, you'll be ok. You'll have 2 assignments every week, 1 graded for completeion, 1 for accuracy. 2 easy discussion board posts. 2 tests and the fnal. For a class unrelated to my major, this was way too difficult and took way too much time/effort
He is literally the worst professor in the Economics department at UCF! his homework assignments/ Learnsmarts and group discussions barley move up your grade and is solely based on 2 exams and the Final.... If you can avoid him at all cost!!! to bad you have to take him again for qmb2 if you're a business major at UCF.
This class is just trying to stay awake through recordings of him reading powerpoint slides at 2.0x speed and then basically teaching yourself everything with the practice problems.
He gives weekly homework and quizzes for each chapter, but they hardly affect your grade. The exams are way harder that any of these . Then if you don't do well on your two exams you have they destroy your grade, I recommend another teacher.
The final really was not that difficult in comparison to the other exams. Watch the final review from SARC, it summarizes 85% of the class. Make sure you do not skip and of the learn smarts/homework incase you need the extra points.
This class was awful, the professor did not adapt to online teaching well. The exams are nothing like the homework and the exams are worth the large majority of your grade. Homework will not help your grade at all. If you dont do well on one exam you are doomed. So many people dropped this class this semester. Awful professor, awful class format.
This professor refused to accept a positive COVID test as a reason for not taking an exam. I had to take it to the dean and then the professor tried to back pedal and make it out like he was going to allow it. So not only was the class super hard but he was not understanding at all.

This professor never actually taught anything. I learned everything from the online textbook. There's 10 homework's and 10 LearnSmart's, that can be a bit annoying and long. Also the homework counts as accuracy. There's only 2 test so you have to make sure you do good on both. They aren't extremely hard, as long as you have a general idea.
Homeworks were a bit annoying/time-consuming. However, as long as you understand them and the concepts/examples he presents in his lecture videos it is an easy A. Two tests and the final pretty much make up your entire grade, but they are all open book. Three essay assignments were used to replace ALL meetings.

The only time I emailed him for help his response was rude and not very helpful.
I took this class due to covid. He didn't teach anything. Everything I learned was from the hw and the learnsmart assignments. Take good notes and understand each module and you'll do fine. 2 tests and the final make up your whole grade.
Nice professor but very hard class. Put in 100% effort from day 1 to get an A. Taught myself everything from taking great notes off of the textbook. Homework helps grade significantly, complete all homework & excel assignments. Exams arent terrible but the material is just very difficult to grasp. Understand the concepts, not just the math! Study.
This is a really hard class. He provides lectures and examples, but I still struggle. The homeworks are really helpful to grasp some of the concepts. Don't miss the lab and the assignments, it would help your final grade more than your think.

The class wasnt my favorite based on content, but the professor was really kind and genuinely cared about his students well being. He reached out weekly to make sure we knew what was going on and even sent us multiple reminders when an assignment was coming up.
The test is nothing like the homework so its basically useless. The resources he provides are not useful at all. All the students depend on online resources such as Jon test review to help with this class.
Buhagiar does a good job but there is nothing out of the ordinary. Because of COVID, the class was online and the lectures were posted. They were short and easy to follow. The only real letdown with this course was the $60 program you have to buy to do assignments and homework. It is a very bad program but other than that it was a good course.
This professor is incredibly hard to understand and makes taking this class difficult, heavy Italian accent. There are a grand total of 3 test in his class including the final... 79% of your grade is based off tests so if you dont do well on one (like I did) you can expect to get lower than a B in this class. In-person may be different?
With Microeconomics being an already dreadfully boring, the professor makes it 10x more boring with his awful lecture videos. The 3 tests in the class are weighted 79% of your grade so if you do poorly on one of them youre most likely not gonna pass. Terribly set up. Never Again.
Never watched his videos, they would just confuse me. I taught myself using the book and the homework. Make sure you understand the content and know how to do EVERY hw problem and you'll be fine. BEWARE of the final. It is confusing and mostly conceptual. Make sure u understand the last chapters VERY well. He messages back quick too
Bro I dont know if this professor even knows what class hes teaching. The videos that he provides makes everything so much more confusing than they need to be. That is if you can even understand what hes saying through his thick accent. The homework isnt bad but it doesnt prepare you for his tests at all
He provides "mini lectures" which don't really prepare you for the homework or the exams. The exams are also more difficult than the hw imo, so I wouldn't rely on hw solely for studying. The 2 exams and final make up most of your grade, (final is mainly multiple choice conceptual questions, with a few fill in the blank math based questions).
Probably the most inconsiderate teacher I have ever had. His lectures are the worst thing you will ever hear. Good luck understanding a word he says, but hey he's basically reading off his PowerPoint. He is also very rude the way he speaks about tests is condescending. I was just a point away from and A and he seemed to be happy about it.
the teacher does not actually teach anything. simply puts you in an online course and if you don't get it forget about it there's no other way to learn it. Also makes some assignments due at 9am instead of the day before at 11:59. If you learn by staring at a computer for hours clicking stuff this class is for you, he genuinely does not teach.
Took this class over summer A, highly dont recommend doing that or taking him for a professor. You have 3 modules due every 2 weeks, about 6-8 assignments due, but you have to teach yourself. His videos for the class dont teach anything and the modules arent very good either. You have to go to skoolerstutoring com if you plan on learning anything
The materials are quite challenging. Do not take this class over summer unless you have great self-discipline and can teach yourself the materials. I never watched his videos, and learned everything from the textbook, hw, and online resources. There are both regular assignment and Excel activities for each module. Only 3 exams for the semester.
I took Micro over Summer A. While there was a constant flow of work because of the shorter semester, it was all manageable. I see a lot of negative comments, the class really isn't that hard as long as you put in enough time each week. If you have taken macro this will be easy.
This professor is horrible. He doesnt teach he only recites information in his lectures. Its sounds as if hes reading lines. Hes never around for in person classes and you cant reach him by email. Basically MIA his TAs do all the work. He places you in groups and grades a random paper from someone in the group and thats your grade. Awful.
prof never shows up to class, the course is completely ran by TAs. about every three weeks you will have a lab in a group assigned to you. class activities are mandatory and one paper from each group is randomly selected to be graded for the group as a whole. it sucks. just hope you have a good group. lots of homework every week, no studyguide ever

I was disappointed to find out that this professor would not be attending a single lecture. Each lecture was led by his TA's and they do this thing called an active learning lab where you waste your time and answer some questions from the textbook once every couple weeks. Try and find another professor if you can.
You're going to have three homework assignments every Sunday. These really help you understand the material if you didn't watch lectures or read the book, but they still don't replace that knowledge. His lectures are helpful but the book definitely helps clear up anything that may have come off as confusing or if you just need extra help.
Professor isn't there for learning labs and TA's aren't helpful at all. Group assignments 5 times/semester. Majority of your grade is 2 tests (48%) and the final (27%). Be sure to thoroughly understand the concepts because the tests are rather difficult. If you read the book/watch the videos/study you CAN get an A. Tests are taken on campus.
This is a REAL format class. NOT AN EASY CLASS. The professor was sick this semester - he did not show up for the LABs. However, he was always available via zoom even on Fridays. He seems to genuinely care about his students. Some of the TA's were helpful. 5 % Extra Credit if you get an EXCEL CERTIFICATION. Overall Ok.
This class is the first class where I have been mentally struggling a lot and it has brought me down to my greatest lows. He has never showed up to the labs which are not even classes it is just a group activity that you do. The class is labeled as face to face and we have never seen him once. His exams are unrelated to course and very hard.

This professor is like an absentee landlord except that an absentee landlord actually shows up once in a while. He's the worst, but the only option. Exams are written in broken english. Go to Skoolers tutoring to actually do well. I should get my A, but not because of Tarek.
In this class, the students who attend are just Tarek's paycheck. This entire semester no one saw him once. I understand this class was going to be hard, but the majority of my learning came from StudyKnight and Cengage. His videos are only comprehensible in 2x speed. 10/10 would not recommend.

The three tests make up roughly 80% of your grade; closed book, closed note, no retakes. The so-called labs are really just sick and twisted group projects with mandatory attendance. Avoid!!
It is tough to judge the REAL format. The average for the class was 75. A lot of work. I went to his virtual office hours. He was nice. Still a tough class. Drops 2 homework assignments and 4 Excel Assignments. 5% Extra credit for Excel certification. Must pay attention to the weekly announcements.
Awful! If you can take someone else please do! I did all the homework assignments as well as the excels assignments and scored a 100% I attended every class and did well on the group assignments. For the exams I would studied and retake the practice exams over and over again till I got a 100%. That was over 45 practices exams! I still failed have!
If I could give him a 0 I would he is the worst!!!! If you have to take him just do well on the test and you will be fine because your whole grade is the test!

In order to do well you need to be lucky and have great teammates. I was. I spent every Friday with the professor during office hours. Nice guy. Difficult class but not impossible. Take advantage of the extra credit. Make sure to go over the flash cards for the conceptual questions. . One of the TA helpful.
Can drop 2 homework assignments. Can do the homework 3 times keep the best scores. Tests are ok if you go over the objectives for each chapter and the LABs I am not a Business major economics was difficult for me. Good Luck!
Worst professor I have ever had. You have to teach yourself everything, I did not find his videos helpful at all, and I have never even met him. His Ta's run the class when you do actually meet the five times of the semester. His tests are weighted so heavy so if you mess up on one, you are basically screwed. Avoid if you can!

By far the worst professor I've ever had in my time here at UCF. I attended every single active learning lab and not ONCE was he there. Instead, we had to watch a 5 minute video of him "teaching" before we did our group work. I had no choice but to teach myself the material because his "lecture videos" just touch the surface. UCF, do better.
This is a REAL class and you will be forced to work in groups where only 1 paper is graded so if you get a bad group, your grade will suffer a lot. Never interacted with the professor, and he was never at any labs. You will have to study a lot because exams are difficult and have very obscure questions. No extra credit. Prepare to work very hard.

This has been the worst semester EVER ! This Professor is the worst when it comes to teaching and concepts. Many times he will quote it is important to understand. If its important to understand then maybe go in more depth lol. I have not failed a class yet and this is now my first one. I have to re take it with him again unfortunately.

I am so confused on how people are rating this man a 5 LOL. This professor has brought out the most anger out of me on how this class is constructed. Homework is worth almost nothing and makes exams pretty much your entire grade. Lecture videos are horrible and need to be updated if he actually wants to lift a finger and fix this mess of a class.
Real class. He provides you with weekly announcements and reminders. You have enough information available to get a good grade. Drops 2 homework assignments. LABS are ok. I dont understand why the college wants us to take the tests at the testing center. At work the information I need to use is readily available in front of me. Nice guy.
Tests should be taken at home open book. The testing center is too noise and they have too many rules. UCF needs to change. Not everyone has a good memory. .The prof was nice during office hours. The average for the class was only a C+.

Economics is not my favorite subject. the professor was kind and . He reached out ever week. He wanted to make sure we knew what was going on. The only prof that sent me multiple reminders when an assignment was coming up. I got a B. The average for the class was a C+ It is a REAL format class.

The class is asynchronous and the size of the class is huge. The learning is online and you have 5 LABS - you work in a group. The tests were ok. TAs sucks. Go to his office hours - very caring. I think he was sick this semester. The testing center is horrible. Students should be allowed to take tests online.
You will never meet this man, it's only his TA's that come to class the whole semester. The Active Learning Labs are graded toughly to make sure everyone's sheet is correct and legible. No extra credit, doesn't round up final grade. Videos watched during class are not helpful so you teach yourself everything. Homework & Learnsmart can take time.
This class was partially online and partially in person. The content itself was online, so it was mainly self-learning. However, there were "labs" in person where we had the opportunity to interact with others while practicing what we learned. I did decently in the class, but this was mainly self motivated and did not have a large push to learn.
Worst Professor you can possibly get. He doesn't even show up for any of the classes. Makes his TA's do all the stuff and the TA's are extremely useless.
This is an unconventional class - Real format. You are pretty much in charge of your own schedule. You have 5 LABS. The problems are identical to the problems in the announcements. The same problems are on the Teat. Not an easy A. But this is college. Good Luck
NOT AN EASY CLASS. He was a great mentor to me. During our meetings he always asked me about me and my life. Tests can be difficult but not difficult impossible. 5% Extra credit for a durable excel certification.
The college uses the Real format for this class. It is an online class with 5 LABS. I am a math major. This isnt a difficult class. It could have been done totally online. I talked to the prof one time. I had nice teammates. Overall and easy class for me
He does not teach, he was not even in the country this semester. Would not reccommend.
If you get bad teammates your final grade will suffer. I was lucky only one of my teammates didnt do anything the entire semester. 3 attempts for all homework assignments. The problems on each test are similar to the LABs assignments. I meet the prof during office hours. He was helpful. Not a difficult class.
Throughout the semester this professor says this is a REAL class when in reality it is a class that is constructed in a way that is horrible for the learners. TA's will literally tell you that they are not there to teach you in the labs ??? They tell you that you need to teach yourself. Exams are ALOT harder than all the assignments put together.
Forgot to rate this professor last semester. Basically an online class with five in person labs that are basically zeros if you have a bad group. They did not tell my class this in the beginning but they only take ONE paper from each group and everyone gets that grade which I think is so absurd because everyone explains things a little different.
There's mandatory in-person group work where only one paper is graded with no feedback, which can be very frustrating. His online lectures are easy enough to understand, but later topics make less sense. Assignments wise, Learnsmart is terrible, but the rest are fine, and there's in-person tests. As long as you know your stuff, its manageable.
If I could rate a 0 I would! Does not care about his students. Does a terrible job explaining the material. Makes class boring and repetitive, making extremely hard to pass for the majority of the students. Didn't learn a thing, and obviously didn't pass the class either. Worst part is that you are stuck with him, he's the only one teaching QMB II.

The class itself isn't hard but you teach yourself. His lecture videos aren't that helpful, but the learnsmart videos were very helpful. I recommend studying with learnsmart and study what's on the lab assignments. This material is easy to learn, but you have to teach yourself, which is hard for some. The average for exams was a C.
I found this class to be very difficult. His videos are average at best at explaining the material. I recommend studying the labs and the concepts that are presented on them. The test were mostly multiple choice conceptual questions.

IT is a REAL class. Not an easy class, but doable. Mr. B is a decent professor. Lots of notes-taking, textbook reading, lecture reading, I got an A average homework, quizzes and tests. I should end up with an A in the class. If you need help reach out to him or Benjamin.
Nice guy probably has good intentions. Not the best at teaching the course. He has a very thick accent making materials and lectures VERY hard to understand. majority of the course has to be self taught and tests are heavily graded and weighted.
Honestly, he is the worst. Most of your grade relies upon tests. Buy the Skoolers package for each test if you want to pass....because his learning material is garbage. I am sure he is a really nice guy with good intentions, I just feel like he is too old and sick to be teaching such a high-exposure course.
Worst class ever, and I took calculus. Your grade is pretty much determined by the three tests (two midterms and a cumulative final), despite having to go to the Active Learning Labs and having tons of homework. Do not take this class unless you absolutely have to, especially with this instructor.
This class is one of the worst I have ever experienced. He relies solely on TA's to teach and when you ask them for help they simply say they're not there to teach. It is basically a self taught class and if you miss an exam you might as well kiss your grade goodbye. He lacks basic human empathy and is overall rude to his students. Save yourselves.
This was not an Easy class but if you put the effort you can pass it. The professor has a heavy accent, however you can still understand his lecture videos. You have to take three tests in the entire semester. You have to do online and excel homework almost every week. You also have three attempts on every homework it. Exams are very conceptual.
Oh boy. What a class. The professor is overall rude and not very helpful to students at all. The group assignments were hard and the TAs barely helped you. 2 exams, cumulative final, so hard. Way too much hw too. No extra credit. Somehow I got my B- with a B on the final nothing short of a miracle. Unless you like economics, this class is TOUGH.
A good professor. Had an Italian accent so a little hard to understand at times. The workload was not bad. He was very helpful if you needed any help on the group projects as well.
He is absolutely not as bad as everyone is saying! He does have a thick accent, but it doesn't take long to get used to it. He is genuinely nice and clearly cares about his students. He is also very transparent about what will be on the exam. The class is difficult but possible if you put in some work and do the extra credit.
I truly liked the professor and his TAs.They were helpful and kind. The final exam was cumulative and wasn't hard at all.I enjoyed the structure of the class,and the group projects. Overall I do not know why there are so many negative comments about the class. In my opinion, it was great and I would recommend the class and the professor to everyone
TERRIBLE! Super difficult, rude prod, have to self-teach or use poorly made videos, 80% of the grade comes from tests pretty much impossible to get a B without getting 90+ on tests. Can't blame him for how terrible REAL classes are, but compared to other professors this class is still worse and unfortunately, he is the only prof for 2 of them!
I am bad at math and managed to pass, although i was not a fan of the way he presented the examples, it was fairly simple just make sure to do the weekly objectives since they are weighed pretty heavy.
This class is just hard, but i took him in the summer and it wasnt that bad. Make sure to do the homeworks since they reflect on the quiz/exams.
Professor Buhagiar runs his class in a very down-to-earth way. You won't get to compromise or make deals with him, his expectations are very clear, and the classes themselves are going to simply be as hard as they are. The good news is, if you put in the work, that means they're not too bad. Study and put in time, and you'll be fine.
Yes this is a REAL class so I have to teach myself everything. But here we learn from only a textbook and he makes no contributions besides that. All he does is show up to class, post short horrible videos that just recap the book.Nothing helpful at all, he's also so rude in person and his TA's are always cancelling office hours. Avoid! I DON'T RECOMMEND!!! This class was taken to satisfy my GEP requirement. You attend class about every two weeks and each time it is for a group assignment (Lab) therefore there is NO IN-PERSON LECTURE. There are assignments online that are counted as homework grades. Online lectures are very broad. The TESTS are extremely HARD for this reason.
Overall, he is an okay professor but this class takes a lot of work. Learnsmart and Homework assignments each week take a lot of time and effort. Very test heavy and you have to rely on your group for the lab activities every 2 weeks. Use the study guides and videos to help 4 exams! TA's are willing to help during office hours but you have to go!
I really liked Professor Buhagiar! He cares a lot about his students passing the class and sends out a lot of announcements. The learn smart is annoying but it does help, and I don't like how the test amount to nearly 75% of your total grade, but thats the college of business for you. Study the Homework and videos in the lectures for the exams.
I took eco 2013- macroeconomics last semester and this course was much easier. A down side is that the exams are pretty heavily weighted as there is only 2 of them and then the final. The homework is easy and helpful. The textbook provided is also helpful to read through. He makes it easy to tell what you need to know.
I was encouraged to not take ECO2023 at UCF for fear of failure, but this class wasn't horrible. If you struggle teaching yourself, you will struggle in this class, as the majority of learning was done by yourself at home. Study for the tests and do all of your homework and you should be fine. Two lowest assignment/homework scores get dropped.
He isn't the best teacher but the content isn't too hard and you can ask the TAs for help during the learning labs.
Don't waste your time watching the lectures he posts on Canvas. Read the textbook and know the homework material very well to succeed on the exams. He is not a very engaging professor and be prepared to teach yourself the course.
Mr. B rarely interacts with the students, it's his TAs that run the whole course. There are multiple learn smarts which are time consuming. The exams are very heavy on your grade and his average for the first two exams every year is a B- and the average for his final is a C. I really enjoyed learning microeconomics, just not with this professor.
The class consists of 1200 students, Mr. B along with the teaching assistants are readily available to provide assistance. Your grade is influenced by the collaborative efforts of your teammates. Seeking help from Mr. B's office or the TA's has proven to be the most effective way to address questions. The support system in place is satisfactory.
I don't feel strongly either for or against him. His lectures were informational, nothing more and nothing less; his tests aren't too hard if you study.
I hate this man. the test and content isn't bad but he is condescending, and the tests are the only things that matter when it comes to your grade. This wouldn't be bad if he actually taught, which he doesn't do.
Mr Buhagiar is a good professor who cares about how you do in the class. Most complaints I see are about how the class is structured which is UCF's fault, not his. As long as you study and do your homework you should do fine.

Study the textbook and you'll do great... learnsmarts give you a good foundation but taking notes from the textbook chapters gave me good grades on the exams and the final. His videos are pretty useless and you have to teach yourself the material. He seems like a good person but for the 100th time, read the textbook chapters and you'll do good.
Only downside of this professor is no extra credit and labs are randomly graded. Microeconomics is an easy class as long as you study a few hours. He does have his own videos and study guides to help and you just need to study the homework, labs, and watch videos. First test is the easy, the second is hard, and the final is easy and conceptual.
DO NOT TAKE IF YOUR CARE ABOUT GRADES. His video lectures are useless, the labs are useful but you depend on the TAs. He isnt good at explaining the concepts, he just throws the definitions and the process. I wouldnt take his class unless strictly necessary: 3 tests 24% each, careless prof, you dont see your quiz/tests/labs after grades either.
This class is meant for people who can learn with minimal guidance. All learning is done at home with little lecture time because of the REAL format. This class is not bad if you study and follow the study guides he gives out for tests. Ask TAs if you are confused during the LABs and go to office hours to review labs/ tests. Not the worst class.
Buhagiar's class requires consistent effort - study the textbook, watch the videos, and use resources like unstuckstudy ai for practice. Exams are the main focus, so be prepared. Grading can be strict, but the material is manageable if you put in the work.
Only got a B+ because the group assignments are randomly selected and graded and that dragged me down despite getting A's on all the exams. TA's are NO help at all but the professor himself isn't terrible. Material is pretty easy to me, but the LearnSmarts take like three hours.
Very caring professor, could barely understand what he said during lectures but his homework and quizzes were helpful for the exams. Loved his wholesome emails telling us that we are always doing well, he is a very nice person. Exams are difficult, studying hard is necessary.
Mr. Buhagiar is a wonderful professor who cares about his students. His class consists of in class assignments (team), one group project presentation and paper, homework and 3 tests. I am taking him again for another MBA class in the curriculum - ECO 6416. I would recommend this professor to everyone.
