Her instructions are vague, she does not write well herself, she is late with making group assignments, she is late with grading. She offers little to no guidance, she grades papers as if you were a grad student.
TERRIBLE. The feedback you receive does not match the grade you get. Positive feedback with negative grades. Points get taken off for things that were not on the syllabus, you have to be a mind reader to get a decent grade. IMPOSSIBLE to get an A. Group projects are worth 40% of your grade and too bad if people don't participate. Do NOT take
She is an awful Professor. The directions are vague and when you ask her for assistance she writes you a book with more vague directions. She is a ball of confusion. She grades really hard.
AWFUL professor is right. What everyone else has said is true: vague directions, little-to-no feedback while mid-assignment, unfairly difficult grading, points deducted for things not on the syllabus, no help regarding lack of group participation.
This was the first class I ever failed, when I say fail I mean fail, I've never seen those grades before especially for a college student . The professor is awful. VAGUE Iinstructions. She is no help. She grades verrrrrrry hard, wants you to use course material even when info not present. I would not recommend her class to anyone. Stay away .
Professor Gross is the hardest Professor I have ever had and I am just a few classes shy of completing my degree. She grades every paper like the students should be working on doctorate level courses and does not give constructive enough feed back to improve. The best advice I can give some one is to avoid yaking her course if possible.
Absolutely terrible. Shes gives assignments.. you follow directions and then she gives you a bad grade because you DIDNT INCLUDE THINGS THAT WERENT IN THE DIRECTIONS. Do NOT TAKE HER. By far the worst professor. Also makes you use course materials and tells you to include things in the assignment that arent in course materials. SHE SUCKS
Long page of assignment requirements that everyone can attest make no sense. As soon as you think you have the hang of it and think you are done she will comment something along the lines of "great draft" and advice that does not help anyone understand anything any better.
Worst professor I have ever experienced in college. Long pages of assignment directions that do not match her directions. Instead of clarifying she tells you to follow the directions, which are apparently wrong. Untimely responses. Subjective grading. Passive aggressive. Do not get the sense she wants to see you succeed. Will have to graduate later
Worst teacher I have had at UMGC/UMUC. Never good enough and never right about anything. No matter if you follow the syllabus or even her own feed back, your still wrong. Very sporadic with communication. I don't understand why she feels like this amount of work is worth only 3 cr. I have a job and family. That is why I use an online University.
Professor will not give you clear outlines and will not grade based on rubric. You are measured based on what she feels you should have done. Feedback will not give a clear picture as to what issues you actually had. She cares more about failing students than seeing them pass. So if you want to waste $1000 and drop your GPA then take her.
If you want to have a professor so awful that you lose all your motivation to graduate and feel the need to drop out of school, then this is the professor for you. I have never been more stressed about a class in my life. Assignment instructions were so overwhelming and confusing. Made me feel so miserable I dropped out of school. TY for the debt.
The worst professor I've taken at UMUC thus far. She is a tough grader and her expectations are unclear. Several of the students in the class had the same issue with her. She would often take days to respond to us and give feedback. She would provide feedback on a Friday when an assignment is due on Sunday.
Online classes start at 00:00 on Monday at UMUC. The professor will wait until Tuesday afternoon to give you what you need to do the group assignments. Then is she is supposed to give feedback (by her own rules) she'll wait until the day before the project is due; after she costs you a day in the beginning.
She doesn't understand the concepts she is supposedly teaching, refuses to budge on her grading, called her privately on inaccurate information. I have a 4.0 GPA in 2 master's degrees and every PhD course I have ever taken. This is by far the worse professor I have ever taken, her feedback doesn't match the papers turned in. Stay away!
Provides no personal feedback for improvement. When I reached out during the COVID-19 pandemic because I was working longer than normal and asked for a simple extension, she said it didn't matter and she would still enforce the rules. Group projects in an online school are hard enough and she gave us poor ratings all around. 3.4 GPA lifetime
I believe Professor Gross has been fair in her grading and I have received good feedback when I have reached out individually via email. If you are having trouble, you probably didn't read the rubric/instructions.
Run..... do not take her. First D I ever got and now I have to re-take as this is a required class for degree! I wish I had dropped the class like many others. She picks at everything even the weekly discussions. Her instructions are all over the place then she'll accuse you of not following directions. Almost the whole class had issues!!
This professor does not give any form of constructive feedback and grades terribly. I will never take a course with her again.
Beware of this professor she is a terrible teacher and terrible person. Looks for any and all reasons to fail you. Even if you personally email her questioning your failing grade don't expect a clear response. This is the last class I expected to get stuck on like this. Just take someone else if you can.
She waits until the last day to post grades & respond to emails - which is difficult since each group assignment is one week after each other escalate on the week's prior assignment. So if you end up getting a D on the last week and don't find out until the day before the next one is due, the next assignment is doomed as well. I dropped. 0/10.
probably one of the most harshest grading professors I've ever encountered in my life. Absolutely terrible professor, who enjoys power tripping while grading. If I could rate a zero I would. DO NOT TAKE HER COURSES!!!!!!
Horrible professor, my GPA before this class is 3.85 and she just gave me 7 F's so far. Tried speaking with her about and she made me feel even worse.
Dr. Neisha is tough grader, but she is passionate about her subject. If you fail, it is because you're lazy and you dont read. All of her tips in the annoucements helped me to be success and she was responsive to emails. So if you fail, the problem is you. I would take her again, I learned alot and she forced me to think deeper
I learned a lot in this course. Dr. Gross went beyond the course materials and gave you resources to be successful. She gives what she expects, which is hard work. You can tell that she loves her topics and care for her students. I would take her again, I wish there was a second part to her course, to learn more from her.
I took Dr. Gross BMGT 110 course. She provides necessary tools instructions, and encouraging words. Always willing to help. her course requires you to put in effort and ownership with your learning. great teacher and easy to talk to, very relatable.
Taking Dr. Gross course now and am going into the final week. I absolutely enjoy her class. What was truly great is that she records a majority of her announcements, which gives powerful insight. She also has virtual office hours. I cannot say that I had a teacher do this in an online course. You can tell she cares and she is hilarious.
Hands down Dr. Neisha was amazing. She gives you so much helpful information for success on your assignments in her course announcements and feedback. She always takes time to answer your questions and she has great energy. I truly enjoyed interacting with her. She was always willing to help so I never felt unsupported.
WOW! What can I say. I have a profound respect for Dr. Neisha and her enthusiasm and care about her subject and students. This was an amazing course. Is she a hard grader, yes. But, she gives you all of the tools and is accessible to be successful. Put in effort, read, ask questions you will do great in her course and learn so much.
Just finished her course and initially, I did not understand what the expectations were. I reached out to her, and she explained and showed me a course announcement that also explained. I guess I missed that because I never read those. But, I learned that reading those announcements was important. This was a great class and she was fully engaged.
Dr. Gross (Neisha) was an amazing instructor. Her course announcements and lectures were well designed and engaging. Great teacher, you just need to read the material and she is always available to help.
Dr. Neisha was an amazing professor. I took her for BMGT 110 but I didnt see this on the list.
Dr. Neisha was so inspirational and motivational when I needed it the most. I am most thankful to have met her during my difficult time. She was understanding and took time to care.
I enjoyed Dr. Neisha's class a lot. She gives you tools to be successful mostly in the course annoucements. Read those. Have questions she is responsive. Also hilarious.
Dr. Neisha was a great professor. She is very detailed and clear with how assignments are graded. What I liked the most was that she quickly responded to questions, and had virtual office hours so you can have real-time discussions. Just be prepared to read. If you dont read her announcements you are going to miss great information for assignments.
Dr. Neisha was a great professor. Clear guidance and she cares
Dr. Neisha was amazing and explains things well. Great person, good class
Dr. Gross was an awesome professor. I had not had one in my program that took that much time to walk me through concepts outside of the course. She is also available and prompt with her response. I have so much respect for her.
Dr. Neisha was was cool in the course. I was struggling a failing her class, but it was really my fault because I thought all calsses was the same and didnt take time to read the instructions. She was not made me feel embrassed about it, just worked with me and I was sucessful in her course. Give information and is fair. Good persion.
Neisha was a great professor and one of the best that I have had at SNHU. I was upset because of the course requirements and my first assignments were graded so low. I spoke with her and she spent time explaining things to me. I had become complacent with just getting by I needed that wake up. Thank you!
oustanding professor. provides all the resources and gives assignment tips in the annoucements. very personalable more professors should show such care. you can tell she loves what she does. a bonus she is hilarious.
dr neisha was amazing. she provided all of the tools to be succeesful in her assignment in the annoucements. you have to read. she is caring and funny. she made the topic interesting. you will do well but yu have to do the work
Best professor in my program I have taken so far. I think online we become disconnected and complacent, but she challenges that. She wants you to think deeper on the topic. That is why we all returned to school, to not buy degrees but earn them. This was a fantastic course.
Dr. Neisha was so motivational. I had a lot going on throughout the semester and I thought I would not be successful in the course. She had so much patience and empathy for my situation that encouraged me to try my best to finish the course successful.
Dr.. Neisha was one of the best professor's I have had at the university. I wish all professors would have this much care for their student's and passion for their topics.
I had her class and during my entire program with the school, no other professor had live office hours. This was a bonus because it gave me that face-to-face to have a real time conversation, rather than email. Dr. Neisha was fantastic!
Great professor
Dr. Neisha took over our class from another professor. She was absolutely amazing, encouraging, and inspirational. We did have an opportunity to hear one of her lectures during our short time together. WOW. I wish she had been the instructor from the start.
This class was great. Dr. Neisha was so inspirational and caring. I also liked that the annoucements gave tips and insight on the assignments. This helped so much. Then she was alway very responsive to emails. Great professor.
this professor gives random grades and doesn't give specific feedback so you can improve on. such an awful experience no one know what does she want her recommendation so general and does't help you to grow your knowledge.
Dr. Neisha was great. She was responsive, pleasant to work with, gave amazing feedback and provided a lot of resources. I felt like everything was being thrown at me, but she was empathic and allowed me time to proritize my life then get back to school work.
I am unsatisfied with this professor's performance. Throughout the course, her explanations were unclear and disorganized, and she did not provide enough support or feedback to help me improve my understanding of the material. Additionally, the grading seemed random and inconsistent, making it difficult to know where I stood in the class. GPA DOWN
I just finished taking Dr. Neisha's course and I learned alot. She was accessible, answered questions, and gave clear guidance. She was an asbolutely outstanding professor. I hope other instructors are like this as I complete my degree.
Dr. Neisha helped me so much during the course. I had no idea how to use APA or how to place them in my papers. WIth her help, I got it now and am more confident with my work.
I learned so much from Dr. Neisha. I totally would take her course again.
What an amazing educator! I specifically enjoyed her office hours, those were the best.
Prof Neisha was very concerned that her students received knowledge from the class. However, she penalized us for not logging in every day to respond to others. It was disappointing that she didn't respect the fact that some have FT jobs and family responsibilities while in school and therefore some days are difficult to respond to others.
Dr. Neisha was a great professor. I learned a lot from her class and she was very caring. I would take her again for sure.
What an awesome professor. During my time in my MBA program, I can honestly say I have never encountered someone as caring and inspirational as Dr. Gross. Her lectures were amazing and thought provoking. I would definately take her again.
Dr. Neisha helped me so much during the course. I was struggling with personal issues, but I did not want to give up on the course. She was a great cheerleader, empathic, and provided great answers to my questions. She made me feel that I could do it, and I did successfully.
Dr. Neisha took the time to speak with me over the phone because I was having some challenges. That made me feel so supported during my difficult time. That gave me the motivation I needed to finish the course. I am appreciative.
Great professor and provided a lot of valuable resources to help me to be successful. I would definately take her again.
Hands down the best Professor I have had during my entire MBA program.
Dr. Neisha was the coolest professor I have had in my MBA program. She was so caring, empathic, and flexible when you communicate with her. I was having a hard time with semester, but I did not want to quit. She made me feel supported and I finished successfully.
Very approachable and caring. Her lectures were fantastic.
What an amazing professor! I had never encountered an instructor who was so caring. She stated at the beginning of the course, that we were in this journey together and she stayed true to this. I never felt alone or unsupported. Dr. Neisha was the best. More professors should show so much care.
Read the grading rubric when completing each assignment and you will be just fine! I had a rocky start but once I realized this, my grades improved and I finished the course with an A.
The worst teacher you could see in your classroom. UMGC paid money to make her a 4.9 out of 5.0 as there is no way she gets a 4.9 with (24) 1-star reviews.
Dr. Neisha was so helpful and readily available to answer questions. I was nervous because it was my first time back to school but she made it a great experience. I hope she teaches another class I have.
Tough start to the class. BUt the key is to read the course annoucements. She tells you what she is looking for in the assignment. This was my fault for not putting forth the effort to read them. Once I did i finished strong. I had some questions and she answered very quickly even though the assignment was due the same day. Great professor.
Wonderful and caring professor. I think a lot of people did not do well. She reminded everyone of the inportance of reading the annoucements. I went back because I did not the first time and there was so much information that could have helped me do better the first time. She allowed the entire class to resubmit that project. That was incredible!
Dr. Neisha was one of the best professors I have had. She was also accessible and responded to questions and emails quickly. She took time to explain things and give examples. Most of all her lectures were thought provoking.
Instructions for assignments and discussion post are not posted in one area, its an egg hunt to find all requirements. Really tough grader and gives vague feedback, will not review documents before assignment due date to provide insight for improvement. Be prepared for a lower score than normal in the class.
Great prof and gave alot of resources all you need to do is read. Helpful tips and explain things well when you ask questions. best profesoor i have had.
Great professor, and I learned a lot! She provided me with wonderful resources that helped me to improve my APA. I feel prepared for my next course.
Super cool Professor and fair. Helpful course announcements and always available to answer questions.
Dr. Neisha was the best professor in my entire MBA program. She was readily available, resourceful, and understanding. Great communicator and placed the course expectations and assignment tips in the course announcements which helped tremendously. Wonderful instructor.
Dr. Neisha was an incredible professor. I learned so much in her class. I wish she taught a different subject here.
Good person but a super tough grader. I can honestly say she's one of the toughest graders in UMGC. I wouldn't recommend her class.
dr. neisha was one of the best professors i had at umgc. i struggled with APA and she helped me alot, even when I had problems outside of the course she was very caring and patient with me. amazing professor.
Hands down Dr. Neisha was an amazing teacher. She listened, was caring, and gave great advise. One of the best.
Dr. Neisha was an amazing professor. One of the best in my MBA program. Very responsive and understanding. I always enjoyed her weekly updates and insightful resources.
Potentially one of the toughest teachers I have ever had. For how much time is expected to be spent on the class throughout the 8 weeks (45)... I easily spent 3-4 hours per day, took great notes, and turned my papers into the "tutoring" help. If this was not required for me to get to the next steps in my degree plan, I would have dropped it.
Awesome professor and explained things so much. I also enjoyed the announcements, they were so helpful. She also helped with questions. I am glad at had her starting my program. I cannot wait until my next course. Hope my next teacher is as cool.
This was a difficult semester, but in a good way. She had engaging lectures and challenged you to think. You can tell she is passionate about the topic. I also liked that she took the time to have a Zoom call with me after work to answer my questions. Caring professor.
Dr. Neisha was a wonderful instructor. I absolutely loved here weekly lectures and that she was quick to respond to questions. She really challenged me in a good way.
A super tough grader. One of the toughest graders in UMGC. I wouldn't recommend her class. The material is very interesting, but I had to waste all my time and effort on properly citing the course material. Every paragraph has to reference the course material. The quality of your writing does not matter that much. Ridiculous.
Tough grader. Doesn't grade the quality of the work but rather your ability to properly cite. I used outside resources along with the class readings and 25% of my final project grade was taken down just for that. How does that help me in real life? Ridiculous. She should worry more about how well we get a concept instead of which resources we use
If you see her coming up on your next term, run! Her grading is not consistent at all. She will nitpick your papers. She doesnt post full criteria on the assignment rubric itself. Rather will give you a 15 minute voice note to listen to in the class announcements. It feels like she predetermines the grade you deserve then grades to that. Avoid her
This professor is obviously triggered by the election of 2024. DEI at its finest, yet again. Her feedback is abysmal and her perception as a Dr of HR is laughable, at best. It's sad that people are so deranged over an election, that they end up like this woman. UMGC is losing students in droves due to professors like this one.
AVOID! Extremely tough grader and completely dismissive when you ask for clarification. Also can come across as rude and dismissive in emails. Has made up requirements that aren't on the rubric that she will dock you points for. Seems very much like a "no one makes an A in my class" kind of professor.
This professor was the first of what I encountered for an MBA class. Tough grader, which is not a big deal because I can adapt. My issue is the inconsistency in grading, and then her interpretation above the actual rubric. Also, her feedback can come across condescending which I don't believe is her intention. I would not take her class again.
Extremely tough grader. Will take points unjustly. Took points off for grammar and spelling and I had to ask her 3 times to point out where and she simply said there were punctuation errors. There were none. She predetermines what you should get, and it's never an A, then shaves off points to make it happen.
