BEST PROF I HAVE EVER HAD AT RYERSON..tests were a BREEZE!! helps after class, always listens, VERY understanding:i missed the 2nd midterm & final b/c of car trble, he let me do mak-ups 4both with an extra week 2 stdy...i got 83% UR LUCKY IF U 2 GET HIM!

He is the BESTTTTT Prof ever. Never boring and a hard worker. He brings fun to the classroom. You have to read your material though, or else you're screwed. If you do, then you would love his class. I wish all the other classes were like this one....

Hes a good prof. you just have to read the text before class and take notes cause he doesnt really leave time for us to take notes in class. But overall hes good i wouldnt mind getting him again.

c'mon! some of the posts here are just too stupid - people are obsessing about something that happened in 1 (one) ! class - He taught a 1000 students and did a great job. This site needs to check postings more carefully. My advice - take the course !

Good professor, however, his efforts are not as effective with a class of 1,100, as the class was quite disrespectful. Gave a lot of bonuses in marks.

Give this professor a break, students seem to immiture to even let him talk. He deserves respect and puts a lot of effort into his work.

i hated him at first...but now i respect him..ppl who say they can't understand him need to listen more carefully...his accent is not strong..we live in CANADA, its diverse, learn to cope with it. He is strict but we really shouldn't be making noise in our lectures anyways, we're there to learn.

prof has good intentions and is a nice guy. If you signed up for tutorials you would realize hes very approachable. Assignments are very hard though, and midterms dont really make sense. I thought that the course would be easy and it wasnt.

ok by no means was this course hard...Basically you could 10% of the course material you actually had to think about...the rest of the course was pretty much a gimmee mark... The text book thing was really****ty but other than that i thought he was pretty good guy and prof...

haha.... this class was a JOKE. I deserved a F but I got an A-. I don't even think I had it this easy in high school. Overall, hes a good teacher, he loves marketing, I guess the main reason why he got mean was cuz of the large amount of people in his classes. If you want to just get through with this dumb coarse, TAKE EM!!!

dewan is not a monster...he's a pretty nice prof knows about marketing...except the class felt like a high school with a bunch of idiots sitting at the back making noise...i'm hear to learn ppl not to hear your immature remarks

He's a nice professor. He likes to get classmates to participate so if you are a shy person .. chance is you loose 10% of the class participation. He makes the class enjoyable..

He's not a bad prof. He's very strict but the last hour of class is specifically for questions. Anyway he's also very clear and interesting to listen to. Not boring at all.

This prof was awesome. easy marks, funny, and helpful lectures. i'm taking his classes whenever i can.

I liked the way he teaches, if you do what he says, your guaranteed at least a B+ in his course, but his easiness depends on the class as whole. Overall, just listen to what he says, and, as he says, "pick up the little stones along the way, and you'll eventually get a diamond."

His rules can be a pain but it doesn;t really matter. He's a great prof, teaches very well, you can actually understand it, straightforward, communicates to the students, will help you if you need it and the TA's are a great help too! You won't forget this class thats for sure!

TAs are bad! walking around and spy on everyone! LoL... Hard marker, there're actually more work this yr compare to last yrs.

He is super strict in class and has TA's constantly looking over you and will take away marks if you have your cellphone, surfing the net etc. His tests are easy though, and he is really clear with what will be on them. Many random assignments worth 5%, and you have to go to class because he gives random pop quizzes

When you get to class: Sit down, don't move, don't eat, don't talk, don't BREATHE! His rules were way over the top & the 10 TA's with clipboards excessive. Felt like bootcamp at times, don't attempt to get up and leave during class or he'll bite your head off right then & there. Despite all these things tho, he makes the class interesting. EZcourse

Best Professor ever

YA the fact that the T.A's are looking to take away marks from people sucks for things like eating in class etc. Ya you have to rely on your notetaking abilities in class. But realistically I though he was a good professor. Compared to someone like Deustch for all the accounting students out their this guy is easy.

I thought he was an amazing professor. His tests were very reasonable, the book was helpful, I was grateful to have him as a professor. He spoke very clearly and couldn't have been more helpful. The best prof I have ever encountered - by far. If you work hard in his course, you get an A - and he is a nice guy.

Loved this Prof. All those people complaining about his rules need to grow up and realize this is university. If you wanna talk during lecture then don't waste your time coming to class. Mid term and exam were a piece of cake. The book is very straight forward and his ppts are straight from the book and you don't need to copy them word for word.

Overall really great prof... his rules are no big deal... their just common sense for a classroom... it can become a little annoying.. but certainly bearable!!!

Although he really enforces basic rules such as no talking, it is actually very helpful. I find it incredibly annoying when people around me are talking and I'm trying to concentrate. Tests are not too hard, the course is pretty easy and if you just go to class, it shouldn't be too hard to prepare for most tests or online quizzes.

Like a snobish child who is put in a position of power, this prof is extrememly overzealous with his rules, no matter what. The 3 hour lectures last no longer than 1-1.5 hours. Little to no instruction for the final assignment. Class is run like a dictatorship. Students have no say. Never have I seen such a lack of respect for a prof, I can see why

The ONLY people who complain are the same people who aren't allowed to sit during class and play with their laptops/talk with their friends.the rules wouldnt be there if you acted properly, you pay for school now.EASIEST CLASS all semester.Material is basic,teaches straight from the book yet enhances the info in class.STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.

He teaches the material very well, makes it short and sweet...and easy...and somewhat interesting. However, I strongly disagree with his strict rules. He tends to follow them closely no matter what the situation. Otherwise, good prof, strict but not as bad as what everyone else says. I would recommend him.

He knows what he is teaching.Great prof.Just read your notes before you come to class so the quizes are not a surprise to you. He is fair and demands all attention. Strict in a good way. I really enjoyed his class.

Very good prof with unique teaching style that really makes you remember every class. After each class, there is usually a twist that makes students intrigued. The class material is not difficult to grasp if students are willing to go back and review MGMA01 material. The cases are mainly self-taught and require thinking. Would recommend prof Dewan!
