Tashfeen is a solid professor. He has good energy and reassuring personality. You will feel inspired after his lectures. He emphasizes material that is important. He is very dynamic and has good people skills. Also, I think he graded our exams very generously. That said, labs are difficult, and my advice is to pay for course hero.
Hard to understand but that's all. He's a sweetheart
Tashfeen is an amazing prof and such a nice person. He puts in a lot of effort preparing before his class. He's always prepared to answer your questions. He cares about his students a lot. Didn't mind the accent. You can still understand everything as long as you pay attention. Generous with marking. Highly recommended!
Tashfeen is an awesome professor! He is very kind, helpful, and explains concepts exceptionally well. He is always encouraging his students to ask questions, even if it is about basic concepts. The labs were not difficult, and the midterm and final were very fair. Overall, great professor and great class!
Professor Tashfeen is very good, I highly recommend choosing him as your professor. He makes him available for out of class discussions about the course and is always happy to help. His lectures are enjoyable.
He is a great prof who is always encouraging his students. He genuinly wants his students to do well and is really helpful in his office hours, but I do recommend going to the lectures as he goes through a lot of practice examples and show some tricks to make the questions easier.
Very sweet and devoted prof. His lecture slides are pretty self-explanatory and well-organized. He also uploads practices Qs and other things that are very similar to the actual exam. Amazing prof!
Great teaching, always available after class
Dr. Karamat is a very caring individual. Although he is sometimes difficult to understand he will gladly clear anything up. During his office hours he is very friendly and will ensure you understand whatever you did not previously
Tash is a great prof. His lectures are sometimes a bit hard to understand but he does his best to explain the material. He is one of the only prof's I have seen that actually cares about his students. He is gentle and is willing to help you understand the material during office hours.
55% of the course is the final exam, 30% Labs, 15% Pre labs. Really difficult to understand, kind of annoying, not even a real professor, doesnt care about students difficulties. Doesnt care or try to understand students, hes the only circuits instructor, so if you doing anything scientific, you have to take his class. Heavy, long exam. Hated it.
He was a nice professor but hard to understand at times. My class and labs were really early in the morning. so that didn't help. I found the course material to be difficult, so I would recommend a good amount of practice. The Labs were the most difficult part I found. The exam was 55% so it's important to study hard for that.
The way that ECOR1043 is set up is horrible, the only grades you can get outside of the 55% exam are prelabs and labs that are irrelevant to the lecture material that uses software that constantly fails. Oh and I didnt get any marks back till the end. Other than that lectures were meh, the exam was brutal and there was no ta or prof office hours.
He's a really caring prof and im glad to have been taught by him. The course wasn't really that tough but beware that the final is worth quite a bit (around 55% iirc) and you need to pass the final to pass the course.
Tash is a very good and caring prof. However, the way that this course is set up is bad, and I assume that its not his fault. We didnt get any feedback till the end and the software used for the labs failed for me A LOT. I wish this class was in person because I actually really enjoyed it, and Im sure hes great in person.
Course was good. Content explained well. Options for synchronous, or watching the recording (highly recommend synchronous, he answers all questions and sometimes forgets to start the recording).
Watch synchronously, you get so much more out of the lecture and course and he is great at answering questions and explaining.
The slides for his lectures were well laid out and he is a good lecturer. Lectures were offered live or recorded. The exam was easy as long as you had been keeping up with the class.
Tash is a nice guy but hard to understand sometimes. Make sure you read over the slides before attending his lectures which helps you follow along better. Did not get any grades back for the labs until the end which didn't really help. Study or else you will fail that brutal long final exam.
Professor tash is simply amazing, makes content easy to swallow and 1043 overall had a manageable workload compared to other first year classes. No midterm and a relatively fair final. Study and you will do great. My only complaint is how long it takes them to grade labs.
A really nice prof. Lectures were easy to follow and understand. Teaches the concepts really well, and provides excellent examples for practicing problems. Final exam was long but fair. Put in the work and you'll pass.
Professor Karamat was a overall a solid prof. The only criticism I have is that there are times he goes over more complex topics a little too quickly, but takes more time for simple concepts. However he is still a great prof who takes time to go over any questions the students may have after the lectures. Labs and exam were pretty straightforward
such a nice and welcoming man, very humble. Only issues were last lec (op amps) could've been better, its a difficult concept. And labs were graded too slowly. Other than that, a real gem. Cares about student success and well being. Curved the final as well!!
Genuinely cares about his students. Final exam was fair. My one complaint is that the class was async (not his fault). I wished the lectures for op-amps were better explained with more practice problems. Also, the TA's for this class were rude and condescending :( They had a bitter tone whenever students asked for help and had a major attitude.
The lectures were very thorough and he stayed afterwards to answer questions and go over confusing concepts. The content is difficult but there are materials available to help and he is available to help when you need it.
I did the whole course the night before the exam. His voice is so soothing (almost like winnie the pooh) and it is very relaxing to listen to. Well structured lectures too
A very good teacher overall!
I was scared to do circuits, however it is one of the courses I have the most intuition with now! No doubt he is a factor in that. He may talk fast or over complicate, but he makes efforts to do better teaching and likes to know how to improve his teaching. So he will only get better from here
Arguably the best first year professor in the engineering department. Lectures are easy to understand and if you pay attention, it is very easy to get a 90 or higher on the exam and even final grade.
Great professor, he has good explanation skills and he is trying to be useful to students. I would definitely recommend taking a class from him.
GO FOLLOW feenafoto!!!!
He's great!
He's a great professor; even though I didn't understand many of the concepts, it's a great class. He's always there to help if you have questions about the material and encourages students to ask for clarification. He is a wholesome teacher, love the little quizzes about the pictures he takes at the beginning of class.
Honestly amazing prof. Classes are enjoyable, and as long as you listen you will get a good grade
Great Prof, it is clear he cares about the student's success, and he explains the material very well. But the course is difficult, do the practice and review the material consistently, and you'll do fine.
Wholesome professor. He really wants us to understand the subject, and seems to enjoy teaching. He sometimes overcomplicate certain things, but he is readily available to clarify his points whenever there is ambiguity. Overall, he is an excellent professor who sparked my interest in circuit analysis.
Great fotos
He is mid.
In lectures, Tash was a great prof who cared a lot. He did his best to make lectures enjoyable and to teach the subject. His final on the other hand, was absolutely brutal. It was multiple choice, and the focus was not what he had implied it would be, and the time limit was incredibly tight.
Tash is an amazing professor. He actually cares about his students (the ones who actually listen). Very personable, open and understanding. He breaks down his lectures and makes them very easy to understand and always answers questions.
amazing professor, make course super easy
Okay so Tash is a really good prof. He takes a couple lectures getting used to but once you get him 1043 is a breeze. If u think about it compared to other courses his content includes no complex math and the labs are straightforward he tells you exactly what tonput in the report and you dont even have to cote anything.
terrible exam
really good professor, make class very interesting, if you pay attention to his class, easy to get the higher grade
goat
Exam was much harder than expected
Horrible final exam. It was 100% a weed out class. And samples/practice were utterly useless. He's an amazing person, but not an okay prof. Definitely do not let the work accumulate and search for external resources to teach yourself.
Accidentally pulled an all-nighter a couple of days before the exam with all his students in Zoom to answer final questions, always ready to help at any time of the day, always understanding and caring, he's just so cool. He gives you everything you need to succeed and then some. He's the goat.
Cool & nice guy, cares about his students. Course content was easy to follow and he did give practice problems/answers. The labs were ok. However the final exam was brutal. Sample exam did not really prepare us for what was coming that day & he did say in the zoom the final was relatively going to be easy, but unfortunately his words were not true.
He's really caring prof, and is always willing to help you understand concepts if you ask. He gives a lot of practice problems throughout the course and emphasizes the important concepts of the course. The final exam was not at all difficult if you did the work throughout the course, although it was made out to be easier than it actually was.
Easily frustrated with students, often claims "you should know this by now". Does not explain his content well in lectures and moves very quickly.
Difficult to grasp concepts often over explained making them confusing.
Thick accent, but even thicker heart
Includes a little about himself and lets you get to know him better, great lectures with many examples in lecture slides so you really understand the concepts. Also posts mock exams and practice assignments with answers so you can really practice the course content.
I think tash is an overrated prof. His teaching is a little too rushed and the final is way harder. Do not underestimate the difficulty of the class.
he shouldn't teach ECOR, gained 0 knowledge from the lectures, every time I walked out of a lecture it felt like I knew less and less about electricity, expects us to know what he's teaching even though its the first time we ever see it.
Talks as fast as a jet, which would be fine if the lectures were recorded like pretty much all the other professors do (they aren't). Has decent amount of homework on DC circuits but drops a bombshell on us with AC circuits and barely assigns any homework. If this professor recorded his lectures, this class would be bearable. But he's too fast.
I love Tash so much. He cares sm abt his students and he's so funny. Also the exam was not bad at all, completely fair. I wish him the best #circuits4L
Good professor and cool guy
Funny guy, really cares about his students. Exam was hard and there are no test to check how you're doing in the course. Also follow him on Instagram lol.
Thank you professor, after my 3rd attempt I have failed and switched out of engineering. I really hope you get replaced for future students. Had this Prof all 3 times and no matter how much effort i put i failed. Good luck everyone, good riddance Tash.
Tash is one of those profs who enjoys teaching a subject he is passionate about. He creates an uplifting and motivating environment by sharing his hobbies of photography and other things which I found very cool. As for his exams, his final was pretty fair, as long as you put in the work and study ahead of time you should be fine.
Tash is a wonderful prof who really cares about his students (and his instagram). He makes sure to stress what content you need to know for the exam, and the exam has no surprises. The exam did have a large volume of questions, but to pass it isn't that challenging. I loved his lectures as they were very engaging and he was often quite funny.
Can be difficult to tell what he's saying but he's solid at explaining the concepts and is pretty helpful. His exam was also easier than the practice questions and he hosted a zoom meeting the week of the final to go over all the concepts and practice exam which was very helpful. You could easily get an A in this class if you don't cram final week.
Okay, professor talks way too fast, so hard to understand sometimes. Very confusing at times. Don't cram for the exam cause you'll regret it.
It's hard to understand him at times (he talks too fast), and unfortunately I had to learn a lot myself, especially about AC circuits. He gives very little practice for AC circuits and throws the topic of complex numbers at us with no explanation. FYI, 6ish AC/filter problems on the exam, and imo, his mock exam is not sufficient (too easy).
Super-overrated professor, challenging to understand, talks too fast and overcomplicates things. It was a challenging and lengthy final that did not have enough time.
If you pay attention and know your stuff, youll do fine! The foundations are the most important for 1043 and I believe thats the reason many struggle. Accent is more than understandable. Tash cares for the students who try, its obvious!
Very engaging, care about what he was teaching which is what kept the class awake and his material was super easy to understand nothing was too bad
Engaging professor, but you will need to be paying attention in lectures and do practice problems. You cannot cram for the exam.
Such a great prof. He clearly cares about his students and wants them to do well. Everyone says his final is really hard but the questions are very fair if you actually go to lectures and do his practice questions. Also follow his insta he posts funny reels.
Your entire mark is based off the exam and your labs, exam was a diddler fr
simply the goat
Stylish and classy
the goat! the goat!
He is super passionate about the course! Just don't talk in class haha
Great professor, he truly wants his students to learn and always provides help and explanations to those who need it
Know your circuits really well and you'll succeed. Do the practice problems on the lecture and all his practice and you should be perfectly fine, there's no trick problems on the circuit portion of the final.
Great professor, enjoyed his class. Also really cares for his students, funny too.
W Prof - We love South Asians
I passed, thank you Tash. Most aesthetic Instagram run by a professor.
Tash is an amazing professor, who cares about his students. His lectures ensure you understand how to apply concepts and the math behind them very well. He can go a bit quick at times, and so it's very important to keep up with the sample problem sets he distributes every week. His final exam was very fair and didn't have many surprises.
Great chill funny guy
For his ELEC 4906 class. Had him for early year courses and he's pretty good actually, but avoid him at all cost in higher years. Gives 40 minutes to do exams with 40-70 questions, admits that he should give more time, and then repeats the same mistake. Content isn't difficult he just has very unrealistic time to write them. Super overrated.
Ensures that topics known to be difficult are covered thoroughly and gives a lot of hints for important concepts that should be remembered. Avoid talking too much as he gets hella angry even if its not too loud.
Learning objective was clear but was an unclear teacher at first. In the end was a supportive professor and wanted students to pass with samples exam and online lecture to go over sample exam. Made clear what kinds of things to understand and know for exam. Only grades were exam and labs
Hilarious guy, lectures were very important as he went over many practice problems, could have explained them a bit better, but no curveballs on final exam, only issue was that it was completely MCQ's. Show up to his class = higher grade
Great guy, take this course as an elective!
Only went to two lectures, but the prof seems great. I wouldn't say this is a course where you have to understand everything on a deep level, but you need to understand how to solve the problems. Beyond that, a surface level understanding of the material should leave you very well prepared for the final.
Talks way too fast and doesn't give lots of help or prep for the exam
His lectures move quickly and lack in-depth explanations, so it's best to study the content beforehand. He gives hints during lectures, so attendance is mandatory for a higher grade. He provides plenty of practice material; review it ahead of time. Labs are easy, but aim for high marks. His exam is entirely multiple choice, so practice a lot.
overall attend lectures and do assignment u will be fine
Explains concepts decently. Attending lectures aren't mandatory and he doesn't really go in-depth into anything that's not on his slides, but he will tell you exactly what is on the final exam. He gives a lot of practice problems so make sure to do those because the exam is completely multiple choice. Labs are easy so aim for high marks.
FOUR WORDS; BIG. BEAUTIFUL. BALD. HEAD. (BBBH). the only reason ppl like him is for his BBBH, like comeon guys, he's just hammin it up for you, layin it on THICK, get a grip! "we love tash, he is the best, my favorite prof", LIES its the BBBH, its always the BBBH, and it will always be.
Good prof, nice lectures. He is sensitive to people who talk in his lectures so be aware. Accessible outside the class.
Kool guy, Kool shirts, Kool instagram, Great Teacher. BBBH noted. Take the class
