I passed this class but I have to admit this is one of the worst teachers I have ever had... :*(
In my opinion, she should not be teaching. Her unwillingness to answer questions during class, and 0 tolerance for peer discussion on the topic makes it hard to walk away feeling as if you have learned anything at all!!
A lot of the work is unclear. she doesn't do a very good job of teaching. This would be a good class to take if you already understand stats, but for someone who is new at learning these concepts this wouldn't be the class to take.Oh and what also isn't included is that all hw is done online. She is a nice person but not a great teacher.
I don't think you can assess a teacher's excellence based on their accent. One may not be impressed by their first impression, but as time goes on she grows on you. Tatiana is a very intelligent woman that knows her stuff. It's obvious she wants you to succeed and makes ways for this to happen. Study. Do the work. You'll pass the class.
I have to disagree with some comments posted below. It is extremely helpful and logical class. If you plan to be in class and do your homework then you will get a good grade. She is very fair, patient, caring and nice. There is a lot of peer discussions, she answers all questions. I liked the group work.
She completely understands stats. If you are willing to sit down, shut up and listen you will do well. If you want a debate over word usage, take a different teacher. I would take her again if I could. Her grading policies are more than fair and she gives you every chance to do well, if you've done the homework.
Does not like to answer questions, and is easily irritated by them... ALOT more work compared to other math classes of the same level (089). Does have very clear handwriting, which is helpful because her accent can be difficult to understand. Nice enough lady, but not for people that are uncomfortable with math
Very difficult to comminicate with. Instructor is not helpful and is very critical. She has preferences towards students and has poor style of teaching. Information is very scattered and unable to follow her method of teaching.
She is not helpful and ask her question and she get frusterated she cant even answer q's because she doesnt understand the q's DONT TAKE HER CLASS
she is good.
Tatiana is a great teacher. She has little pity for your bad grades when you don't do your homework. That makes all the difference! She is very sweet and accomodating but expects you to do your part. I wish I could take another class from her.
This teacher would be ideal for someone who is fluent in math, otherwise you will struggle. Her quizzes and tests are filled with the most challenging and tricky material, and she is only interested in teaching one way-Her way. I am a straight-A student who received a C+ in this class. Choose another teacher, unless you are great at math.
Easy to communicate and follow. I took MTH098 with her as well. Understands and answers well all questions. She will finish her sentence, this may answer the question. Some students interrupt and talk too much. She will make sure this stops. Tests help for the final exam. I would take her again, she knows the material and she is a great teacher.
Tatiyana is a great teacher, yes, she is strict, but if you pay attention to everything she says and actually LISTEN then you will have no problem. It is my first time taking statistics, and with Tatiyana I understand everything. The mistakes that I make in tests is not being carefull, not that something I dont know or understand. So if you are wil
willing to pay full attention and love challenges, this is just the teacher for you. She loves smart students. Yes it was hard at first but u'll get used to it
As long as you show up to class and pay attention you will do great. She actually cares if her students pass so she does everything in her power to help you. The people who were not paying attention during lecture are the ones complaining about her style. looking forward to taking her stats class
She definately doesn't like running start students though she still treats you with respect. I mixed up the days for the final and she emailed me right away and asked if i could make it up the next day. No other teacher I know would go to that effort and very few would even allow a make up. She gained my respect at the end of the quarter
Tatiana is a good and strong teacher. You have to attend classes and try not to skip. You have to listen to what she says do problems and you will be fine. You'll like her if you are really willing to learn. The more older you are, the more you will like her. Most teenagers seem to not like her, well its college, not high school!
Really easy at the beginning. But at the end super difficult and I've taken stats before. She is really confusing and doesn't explain problems well. But otherwise she is a nice but strict teacher.
I got A's & B's in high school and failed her class. I couldn't understand her and she is a stickler when she grades.
Super caring and always willing to answer questions and help with any assignment you have troubles with. As long as you actually study the study guides, read the chapters, show up to class and do your homework the tests are cake. put some effort in and you'll get an A
I like math quite a bit, but I found myself struggling to pull my grade up because of some of the pop quizzes she used to hand out. I used to do poorly on the quizzes because I hadn't studied the material yet, but the tests were simple because it was all from the homework and the book. She isn't good at explaining. Study and you'll do fine.
Great class for students who are willing to be self driven, hard working and not act with a sense of entitlement. She explains things well when time permits. She breaks down the steps perfectly, explains the "why" behind the each formula. Her class was challenging but rewarding. She's fair in her grading. Not an easy A, but achievable with hard work.
Great teacher. Prepares you very well for work projects and stats problems. When she explains, it makes perfect sense. I was so glad going to classes, because the book was confusing. Students who do not study will not like the class. This is stats, need to study and you will love her class. Take it and you will learn.
Such a nice woman! I really enjoyed her class. She's helpful and forgiving as long as you make an effort. She very sweet, and it only takes a little while to get used to her accent. She explains things fairly well and will slow down and if you ask.
Tatiana is a fantastic teacher. Yes, she has an accent, but it's not significant enough to justify anyone's petty complaints. She works with students, she explains thoroughly, and she's more than willing to help anyone that is struggling. I always struggle in math related studies but I did well with her as my teacher, I highly recommend her.
She is pretty good in explaining for some part. She says nice things for students but most of the time she avoids answering student questions. If you ask her many questions she will get irritated. I do not recommend you to take her class. She is not nice as a few people said here. Save your grade. Take it with other good instructor if you can.
The instructor is a moody person and storytell at the beginning of every class. her grading rubric is inconsistent. doesnt hve clear explanation of terms. requires you to study on your own. unfriendly when approached.
Her accent is the only thing I liked in that class. Other than that, I would advise not to take statistics from her. She doesn't show her progress when solving problems, she's not helpful, and when questions are asked she replied that she already went over it and you should listen carefully. She doesn't fill her responsibility of teaching.
She is doing a great job. Explains very well, shows all steps and unlike the text it makes sense when she explains and answers questions. Very patient with students. Statistics is difficult, but she makes it easy. Students like her, and listens to students. Need to study and you will have good grade.
Very helpful. She did a great job by posting notes and helpful materials. Explained material well and used many examples. The class was enjoyable.
Do not take this class. She is a very hard grader and test are almost impossible. She makes a lot of mistakes when doing problems in class. She is moody and doesn't answer questions
Calculus is not easy, but she explains what you need to know and shows a lot of examples. She is definitely answering questions and doing HW questions. People do not attend and study, so they find Calculus hard.
If you are not very good at math in general do not take this class. It's like an online class all of the homework is online and read the textbook very closely to understand the material. Almost half of the class dropped and the teacher sounds like she is used to it. Again if you are not so good at math than please avoid this class.
She's terribly random on when she gives group assignments in class(the only logical way to boost your grade). She makes sure that they are impossible to do. Gives a large amount of questions on Exams and expects you to complete them in time. Rushes through lectures, when she's already rushed through the whole book. And Blabbers about her Bulgaria.
For me, her lectures were not that helpful and she does rushes through the materials. So be prepared to do the work. The exams were not too hard. There were like may be one or two problems you'll struggle. Individual homework were easy and group work, sometimes it's hard. Take this class only if you have solid maths and physics background.
I liked the constant examples and detailed explanations. I did not feel rushed to do the homework for credit. She gladly accepts questions. Other students did not put the time to study. Group work is very helpful, so I liked group work. Useful feedback. Exams were not difficult. She is cheerful and funny. A great teacher.
Easy tests and extra credit galore. Her class felt progressively easier, at least assessment-wise. Personally, I aced every test besides the final and the lack of assigned homework probably contributed. However, the pop quizzes felt random, and I failed most of them.
she is not a good instructor. she thinks she is really good, but she's not. she won't help you to get a good grade. she doesn't grade the homework. we only had couple of quizzes and bunch of group works. but they wont help your grade. I tried to communicate with her and ask for help, but she didn't help me. she said it's your own problem.
I agree with the rating right below me word for word. The tests and quizzes were pretty dang hard. The homework wasn't graded, which gives little motivation to do it. The group works dropped my grade because my group was ineffective, because we don't learn much in the class.
Do not take this class! Group quizzes are impossible to pass as well as regular pop quizzes. Tests are five pages long. Homework is only worth 6 points. I would never suggest her to anyone especially anyone who struggles in math!
Do not take her class unless you're ready to learn the material by yourself. She's unhelpful and non receptive to questions. The group pop quizzes she gives are a joke. She gives problems that she hasn't gone over. She doesn't give enough time for tests and quizzes. Worst teacher at Bellevue College I've ever had.
Do not take a class with her. Basically teaching yourself everything and she just loves to mark off points for exams for the most ridiculous reasons. Horrible experience.
Tatiana is a good professor. She is always there for you for any questions you may have. The tests are somewhat easy and she discusses everything on it. Sometimes she may overcomplicate things that are pretty easy, but she mostly lets you do things your way if it is correct.
She is an okay teacher but defiantly not the best at Bellevue college. There is a lot of homework involved unfortunately not worth that much about 7-8 points. Tests are worth 80 points but are difficult! Quizzes are worth 10 points and are pretty easy to pass. She can make a problem seem a lot more complicated so I suggest using math lab for help.
This teacher honestly made me love math again.
I really liked her class. Very clear and helpful. I was not rushed to do the HW. Instead she did a lot of examples in class. Other professors do not review and explain a lot in Calculus classes, but she did go over a lot of details. She was always available, positive and I learnt a lot.
I loved her. Very helpful and cares about everyone. I did learn a lot and I enjoyed the class.
She made it easy to understand. Motivated me to study regularly. A lot of examples and worksheets that helped a lot. Lectures were clear and posted online. I liked her teaching style. Very helpful.
She was ok, didnt grade homework, test/quizzes were not consistent with textbook. She complies 3-4 chapters into 1 test so only had 4 tests, 6 quizzes and 6 assignments. 78% of class grade was on tests/quizzes.
She's a good teacher, but she's limited by the strange way BC conducts it's low/mid-level math classes; finals are common to all classes at each level, so professors have little leeway on the subject, and don't even get to see the final before test day. The final was much harder than past examples, similar to class material, but harder. Study!
It was nearly impossible to do well on the tests. We were tested on things we didn't go overall. Studying the homework might help for some problems but overall I had a hard time in the class. She seemed disorganized and overall wasn't a good professor. If there are other profs take them instead of her.
Calculus with Mihaylova was very difficult. Homework was not mandatory but is essential for passing the exams. There are only 3 exams and they are a huge part of your grade. There are also in class closed book projects where she assigns some math problems and your group has to complete them and submit them in class for points.
She is a sweet and funny Bulgarian lady. Her teaching style is a bit confusing to me, and I think she goes too fast. But she is very understanding and helpful.
Really tough grader. Sometimes unreasonable. Marks off points for the minor things that many other professors would not consider important. Very discouraging. She thinks that we are in a university, even though it is a college class! I would never take her class again.
She is awesome. Explains very well with a lot of examples. Cares about her students, very understanding and helpful. I did ask questions and she was so good and patient. I will take another class with her.
Incredibly smart & nice, but with a language barrier + the fact that she is a strict grader makes it difficult to want to take another class. She does make herself very available. She is not flexible on grading. She also don't provide much room for extra credit, maybe 10 points all quarter. Hw is plentiful and graded, but 2 ch. of hw 14 points??
She is wonderful. Very nice and willing to help. Take advantage of office hours. Lots of extra points between quizzes, homework, and in class activities to pad not so great test scores. She has a great personality, with a funny kind of dry sense of humor. I will take her again if I have the chance with higher math. Older student take her.
She is great. Homework was reasonable and helping for tests. She gave good feedback and little deduction for mistakes. Statistics is hard, but she did a great job to teach it. I would take another class with her.
Doesnt always explain things all the way.
I've learned a lot and gained confidence in a subject that has made me struggle academically for years. Thankfully, she explained very well and gave a lot of examples. I did not even notice the accent. I would take another class with her.
AWESOME TEACHER! I was late and she was very forgiving, which was very nice of her. Not many professors will do that for you! Her accent was VERY EASY to understand. She scolds noisy people during class (THANKS!). The homework helps for tests. She made Statistics easy to learn. Take her class.
I have taken her for all my math classes at Bellevue College. She is very nice and takes things pretty slow. She also drops your lowest scores for group work and warm ups. Only thing is, don't skip class alot because there is a lot of graded work during class.
She will go over the homework in class and go over any other math questions or you didn't understand before tests if you ask her. Attendence does matter! The math homework is online and is easier becuase it has multiple ways to demonstrate how to solve a math problem if you get the question wrong. I would highly recommend taking her class!
She really cares about your grade. If you miss class, you need to get the notes from someone who was in class because she doesn't post her notes online. The homework is online, easy to get an a in the homework section. If you need help, ask. She'll explain. Tests/quizzes are exactly what we do in class
If you are good at being on top of things, this class would be very easy. She gives a lot of homework but I highly recommend doing it and listening to her lectures because the majority of the time it is really helpful. Because of this, however, I would not recommend this class for people who tend to procrastinate. She's chill the majority.
Don't get me wrong, she's funny, but her teaching style is terrible. I pretty much ended up learning everything myself (and teaching my friends everything too). She has PowerPoints online that she provides (that teaches the course better than her). Also if you miss class, you might miss the groupwork that counts for a lot of our grade.
Class not too difficult. Easy A for homework. In class, you usually either take notes or do group work. Personally, in-class lectures werent very helpful because problems are already explained thoroughly in online homework, but attend class to avoid missing group work/notes. Make sure to thoroughly understand each topic early for the final exam.
You have to pay attention, but if you're willing to learn, it pays off. She grades harshly, but gives extra credit. Classes are very helpful, and she posts reviews and worksheets on Canvas which come in handy if there's a less on that doesn't click the first time. One thing though, you WILL get docked for making stupid mistakes and not showing work
I took online math099 with Professor Tatiana. My experience with her was a good one, she organized the class very well by using weekly modules, 3 quizzes and two midterms, and a final. She uses Aleks, and I recommend using the tools in Aleks to practice over and over until you feel conforbale with the topics.
8 HOURS OF TIMED HOMEWORK ON ALEKS A WEEK (6 DAYS). IF YOU HAVE OTHER CLASSES, A JOB, OR A LIFE, YOU'LL PROBABLY MISS A COUPLE DAYS OF SLEEP. IN ADDITION TO THE TIMED HOMEWORK, THERE'S ONLINE QUIZZES, 4 EXAMS, AND ADDITIONAL HOMEWORK.
She is an amazing teacher. If you work really hard and get all A's in the quizzes and tests, at the end of the quarter she picks a few students who have been steady throughout the year and lets you skip the final test (and it wont count towards your grade). She clarifies all your questions and loves meeting students during office hours.
this is a really bad teacher, she does not care about he students. it is very hard to understand her and the lecture is all over the place. Please DO not take Her class. i had to careful over of my test she try to take off a lot of points countless time.
This teacher is chill and responds best to those who try their best. The homework is on Aleks and while there are certain chapters that are a bit heavier, they are relatively easy. She's not given one lecture because every class is either spending the whole hour on Aleks quietly or doing group worksheets. She is particluar on showing your work.
I love math so much! but this teacher made me hate it. She has a very heavy accent that made it really hard to understand her. Her examples weren't clear. She doesn't like questions and when she answers them, she makes you even lost. A student asked her something and she answered "It's in the book" I drooped the class. Don't take her!
Took as an online class, most of the work is done on Aleks with weekly group discussions. Professor does not provide good feedback, including on homework that she assigns, and if you email her any questions she can come off rude. Overall, if you're good about self-teaching, then you'll be fine, but with math I'd prefer someone more interactive.
There are Online discussion forms like with any class, but students are left to answer each others questions in this class with no teacher input. Expectation 25 hours per week for this one class. It is incredibly heavy workload wise with not much for support. Do not recommend this teacher.
Took this class online, essentially relies on aleks to teach the class, athough she provides powerpoints for lectures notes. Get ready to use youtube to help you understand concepts you dont understand.
The class itself is ok, however the teacher is super passive aggressive. Had trouble with Aleks during the test and instead of helping me understand it, she was really rude and angry. The teacher jumps to conclusions without any prior communication, making any further communication awkward.
Expected 6 hours a week in ALEKS which is fine, but I got a weeks worth of homework done in half an hour. Seemed focused on not letting anyone get a perfect score on anything. She's incredibly passive aggressive in all her communication. I dropped the class because I couldn't take how rude she was.
Do not, I repeat DO NOT take this teacher for any class unless you want to sit on ALEKS for 8 hours even though the assignments on there only take an hour for credit. Also after using ALEKS to take a test, she gives you 5 minutes to turn in your written work for 50% of the grade even if you are late by a minute you still fail and it must be a pdf.
LOTS of hw and everything is done in aleks, says that we should expect 6-7 hrs a week but the workload some weeks were extra heavy. she requires you to scan a pdf and submit it after each test and grades your work from it, even if you got the right answer in aleks but there's a mistake in your written work she will deduct the points.
A very harsh professor that does not care about her students passing the class. She will put many obstacles in your way to make things difficult. Avoid at all cost.
she picks apart homework looking for the smallest details to not give full credit. I used a capital as a variable and got no credit for the problem. Shes will give very little feedback on what was wrong just marks it off.
Professor Mihaylova really seemed to care about the students. She was responsive to emails, and had helpful advice and support.
I liked how the instructor kept the course work very consistent quickly graded. The instructor was able to always offer help when needed. Reminder thru messages were useful.
I love math. But the professor was kind of shady. If you do anything even minutely wrong, you won't get credit. If you show the wrong work or no work and get the problem right she will dock you points. I would not have taken this course with this professor if I had known.
do not take this class. she has no lectures, no notes. just assigns you a ton of homework from different sections. be prepared to spend 8+ hours on ALEKS. she wants everything scanned in as a pdf or you wont get credit. she marks off for everything but wont go into detail about what you missed. group replies must be 24 hours apart or you fail.
DO NOT TAKE HER. She does a horrible job with teaching, and she makes it almost impossible to earn an A. If you miss 1-2 assignments- you will NOT pass. She is very hard test grader and does not answer emails or help you if you need outside help from class. She doesn't actually teach she just used ALEKS and tests are on there. Worst teacher at BC.
Marks things incorrect but doesn't even tell you what the right answer is, so you can't learn from it. Pulls apart answers to find any excuse to take off points. Incredibly passive aggressive in emails. Doesn't actually teach, just uses ALEKS and worksheets. The only reason to take the class is to get the class credits, you have to teach yourself.
If I could rate zero I would. Does no teaching and relies on ALEKS, and assigns additional worksheets on top of that. Paranoid about cheating to the point she put a watermark over worksheets that says, "NO HELP." Part of the worksheet had questions that ALEKS never taught me and she doesn't teach, so I had to cheat and look it up. Worst professor.
As long as you do the homework, the worksheets and the practice tests, you will do well and learn. I always completed as well as any extra and practice work assigned. She gives good feedback, but students should care to check it to benefit from it. Very fair teacher with quick and helpful responses. Available to help outside class.
She does a good job with the class. I took two different classes with this prof. Everything was well organized and if there was ever a question about any work or due date she was quick to answer. She welcomes questions, explains well and cares. The class was not easy, but this is statistics so I did not expect to be easy.
The class is great and plan to take another class with this professor. I am really enjoying the class and happy myself to see how well Im doing. I think ALEKS and the class will definitely better prep me for the next class.
Wouldn't recommend this professor to anyone struggling with math. Professor does not do any teaching outside of ALEKS and therefore does not give much opportunity to improve. I reached out to her one time (!) the entire quarter and instead of answering a simple question, she answered in a snarking way forcing me to find the answer on my own anyway.
If YOU want to FAIL take her class, she is the WORSE teacher you I have ever picked. she doesn't care about her students. SHE IS VERY STRICT don't get on her bad side. tests are nothing on what u studied on Aleks. WHATEVER YOU DON'T TAKE HER CLASS. its ww2 but by ur self
Don't just Don't
This is the worst class I have ever taken. This teacher is impatient, her lesson plans were disorganized and haphazard, and she moved through her lectures and lessons so quickly I could not keep up. Good luck going over homework- she doesn't explain how she works through problems. There was 1 10 point extra credit assignment the entire quarter.
I liked her as a person, but the professor side of her was terrible and very inconsistent. You have to do a lot of communication to clarify things and the material doesn't match all of what's on the test, so you're completely blindsided by some test questions. She's a very tough grader, doesn't give feedback, and subtracts points for small things.
Worst professor I have ever had. She will mark you down for anything she can and seems to care little about whether her students pass or not. She doesn't teach you anything and expects you to learn it all from ALEKS. Very passive-aggressive in her communications and gives an unnecessary amount of work.
This professor responds very quickly and cares about her students.
Textbook is included. Simply rude commentary out of nowhere. Tests on things not done in class. Sometimes deducts points for things she did not specify that she wanted. Easy math but I lost many points because of her secret expectations. Nightmare.
Too strict!
Avoid at all costs! An unnecessarily strict grader who will mark off for the smallest thing. She teaches nothing but penalizes heavily for mistakes.
Do NOT take this professor. You will fail twice before passing. She is a strict grader. will dock you points every chance she can get. I was passing her class with an A then she failed me on the final. My dad regraded my final and said I should of gotten higher. Do not take this teacher.
Never take a class by this professor. She is very passive-aggressive in her emails and borders the line of unprofessionalism. She is an extremely hard grader and will dock you points for minor things. Expect to have your GPA go down and the possibility of having to take this class more than once.
I learned so much. It was online class. I liked the group work and projects. The professor responded quickly and with care. Very nice person and teacher. Will take another class with this professor.
Professor Tatiana is an amazing prof. I would recommend taking her. Class is based on videos, online hw, notes, textbook and other assignments. Offers a lot help and discussion posts. Respond very quickly. Gives good feedback. Prepares students for universities. Extra credit for exams. Cares a lot about students and excellent prof all around.
Tough grader. Aleks math program for material.McGrawHill for book. Tough grader. Request dshs time extensions for tests. Was passing with A then she failed me on the final. I got a math wiz to re-grade it and he said I should of gotten at least a B on it. Not an F. NOT RECOMMEND her! Drop below a B mid quarter withdrawal or you will not pass.
If you want to learn topics from Intermediate Algebra, I would recommend taking this professor. She is very helpful, knowledgeable and responds quickly. She gives you specific feedback and is very open to helping you out. Would definitely take again!
Very good class organization and feedback. I got good math review and learned new topics. I did very well on the next math course. Definitely take this professor.
The class does have a lot of homework but that is mostly because you need to practice to learn the concepts. The professor seems to care a lot. Good group work that helps you learn and discuss the problems.
Everything worked fine for me. I did very well in next math course. Prof. is caring and knows how to teach the material even for students who struggle.
One of my favorite instructors! Majority of the class content was to be learned at home. Careful consideration was taken to address difficult topics during class time. Attending every class is essential to participate in group work. Tatiana wants everyone to succeed! Made me feel confident and capable in my ability to understand mathematics. :)
Professor Tatiana is a one of a kind teacher!:) As someone who struggles with math, it was so nice to have a teacher that was so supportive and encouraging throughout the course. A lot of teachers can dismiss how challenging math can be, but Professor Tatiana never did that and really understood how hard it is to learn math. She was beyond helpful!
Took online, never looked at the textbook. Rarely viewed her lecture notes. Learned everything from Aleks, not this instructor. 3 online quizzes, 2 tests, and the final. She drops two of the lowest HW scores and provides a couple of EC opportunities. Overall not too difficult, if you're looking for an instructor to hold your hand, it is not her.
Relies on aleks to teach; many struggle. Assignments = confusing. Docs you for every point she can. Accuses people of cheating when they're not. Tweaks grades heavily through the quarter. Do not take this class unless you want to fail it. Heavy grader obsessed with cheaters and cheating methods. Mental math is apparently cheating in her eyes.
Difficult class, but the professor cares and wants you to succeed. Engage with the material, use unstuck AI alongside the textbook, and attend every class for the best chance at a good grade.
I really tried to like tatianna. However, her teaching style is a little too much in my opinion. During group exit tasks we were not allowed to socialize with other groups for help and only talk with our team members. She continuously treated many students like we were in a high school class. She had very harsh expectations on tests.
If you're taking an online class with this prof, don't. She does not teach, she uses ALEKS as a means for teaching and you have to basically learn everything without her help. Weekly discussions and lots of ALEKS homework as well as a test every two weeks. Reply time sucks as well.
Teacher I'm sure is super nice and means well, however if you aren't just a college student and have other obligations—she will not be very accommodating. Strict deadlines, very harsh grader. In my opinion way too much homework as well (weekly discussion, hw, concept assignments + quizzes and exams) If you don't have free time don't take her class.
For teaching a math literacy class she was zero help on anything. I pretty much had to learn everything thru the online book, hardly any lecture notes provided. Feedback was harsh, grading was harsh. Took off points even with right answers. Took forever to reply and showed zero empathy when I was struggling. Thermostat blasting during test.
Don't expect the prof to hold your hand in this class. If you have prior math experience, you will have an easy time in this class as long as you stay on top of assignments. Gives extra credit and partial credit for wrong answers with work shown. She was nice in my opinion and would help when she could (calculators and pencils). ALEKS heavy but idc
I would take this professor again in-person or online. Very caring, responds quickly, explains very well. Other professors do not respond for days, not this prof. A lot of practice to learn. A lot of review materials. Good feedback. Gave me options when I could not meet deadlines.
Professor Mihalova was the only math instructor I ever had that actually encouraged me to WANT to learn math. She made it seem easier than ever before. She's kind, resourceful, and cares for her students a lot. She was extremely accommodating as well. My favorite professor.
Her online course was so unorganized it stressed me out alot. She didn't teach much I had to teach myself most things on YouTube. Put things in tests never mentioned in class. Ton of assigns but most of grade is 4 in person tests including the final which is 34% of grade it was very stressful. Strict grading felt like she wanted us to fail.
I had an online class with Professor Mihaylova. What can I say: yes, there is a lot of homework. But everything is clear and doable. The professor quickly replies to messages and rescheduled my test due to surgery with great understanding.
This professor is by far the toughest grader I've ever had. No matter how much effort you put into assignments, it feels nearly impossible to earn full credit. Expectations are extremely high, and grading is very strict compared to other professors. Be prepared to double-check everything and still not be satisfied with your grade.
Recently took her class, and so far I think all the unnecessary class work deducts marks on my grade, which is difficult for students who struggle with Math. Overall wouldn't take this class.
if you don't have a religion, best to choose any, and pray :)
This is the worst class I've ever taken, the professor is extremely caring however her class is overwhelming, too many quizzes, material is too much, and grading is extremely harsh. If your thinking about taking this class please don't.
