Very nice woman, interesting to listen. You can tell she loves to teach and her area of study. Some readings can be found online so save urself some money! Remember to read and you must go to class to hear what she puts on the exam! Only attendance and two exams. Exams are not easy but not hard, just take good notes.

I thought that she was an excellent professor. She was very personable, although she did get upset when the class wouldn't join in on the discussions. Must read the books & attend class. Everything on the tests are from her notes, and she goes into depth. She makes you notice things that ordinarily you wouldn't pick up. Definately recommend!

Give her a break. She's a warehouse of knowledge, despite what previous comments suggest. Her classes require you to ACTUALLY think, unlike the typical sb class. That is the reason why so many fail and get angry. everyone is so used to memorization and regurgitation. Think. Discuss. Talk to her. Then you'll find it's an easy A. To me it was.

This is one of the easiest class you can take at SB. Take it. All you have to do is do the reading which isn't a lot (20pg or less)and the teacher talks for most of the class. there's one midterm and one final(not cumalative). And two days before each test she goes over everything that's going to be on the test. TAKE IT!!!!

All we do is go over what we're supposed to read on our own. No notes. Difficult to understand what she's saying sometimes because she has a thick Russian accent, but if you really listen to what she has to say, you'll realize that half the things she says is not relevant to the lecture. Attendance sheet but not everyday. Don't take this class.

If you enter this course thinking of one easy DEC, you will regret yourself. A lot of reading required, and no curveextra credit AT ALL. The average of the class get B- or C+. Also, she takes attendances, several of them, so if you want to get that 94 for an A, you almost can't miss any of the class, which is very tedious

Allegory of love is probably one of the hardest Dec I have ever taken at stonybrook. She gives out 2 exams a midterm and final. Both 40%. You must read and you must pay attention. Go to her office hours you will get extra points which matter. Do not take this class as a joke at all. I got a 34 on the midterm and then 101 on final. BE CAREFUL

Half of the time, she is rambling about some topic that is not related to the course. She is very unclear with what she expects from her students.

There is a lot of reading in this class but it is not really needed to do well. I barely read anything and did well because the class is curved. She talks throughout the entire class and she rambles on a lot about non relevant material. No homework, a midterm and final both essay based. Attendance is mandatory.

Honestly, I loved her. She is extremely passionate about her profession. Show her that you care and are ready to learn about a new culture, and there shouldn't be any problems.
