She is detailed oriented. She has high expectations for us,& although she expects us to be up and current on the material, she re-enforces the material in class to make sure we have good understanding. Her class is rigorous, but that's because there is so much information to be covered, & she definitely wants us to be knowledgeable.

Fun and interesting projects! Get this...you can take the tests online AND in class! She allowed me to retake a test when I got a low score. She's also funny so you're not gonna be bored learning in her classes!

She's very nice. Apart from the exams in class, everything else was easy. I enjoyed the group project she makes us do. Be prepared for every test!

Class is very easy, felt like high school (in a good way). Very discussion based, so do the reading. When she gets mad she acts all fake smiley (which some people dislike, I didn't care), but overall is a nice woman. Content was easy and clear. No problem taking it a half semester. A few papers to do but I found them fun. would take her again.

She has so much energy & charisma that it is impossible to fall asleep or even get bored in her class. She is amazing, energetic, optimistic and upbeat. By far the best professors ever. I would seriously take every class for the rest of my life with this professor if I could. Class was not difficult but we did have to write a 1500 word essay.

Teacher calls you if you have not been submitting assignments. She will unlock test and allow you to get a better grade.

She makes students make presentations on the topics that will be on the final test and then takes the questions you made and puts them on the final test(at least one of them) Very clear grading criteria, she gives you a report of everything you have done or have to do. The assignments are very doable and require more time than individual study.

Class is great and fun. It is fun to go to class you learn alot of interesting stuff. And the powerpoints are clear. If you do what you got to do you will pass the class easily.

Took her for humanities, she is a great teacher, she is funny and nice. The only thing is that for you to pass her class you need an A or B no lower than that. Her class isn't hard just do your homework and class work and you will be fine, I ended up with an A and this is my worst subject :)

Professor Gittings is an amazing instructor. I have taken 3 different classes with her now and have enjoyed each one (ARH1000, ARH2740, HUM2513). She is fun but, if you don't do your work you can't expect to pass. You will enjoy coming to her class, so there is no reason to miss. Good amount of work but, fun in the end. GREATLY RECOMMEND TAKING!!!!

Quiz for every chapter (gives a study guide), discussion board for every chapter (at least 100 words for the original post, plus two respond post, online book where you complete 40-60 questions, 1 paper which is really EASY ( I HATE papers). Easy class just very time consuming. You MUST turn in EVERY assignment to pass. Midterm(proc.)/final not

She's really sweet and really funny. I love her she is very caring and helpful with her students and let's you make up the work. She is a very bubbly and exciting teacher . 10/10 would take again. Just do your work turn in your assignments and spend time on them.

Prof Gittings takes time to reply emails. Assignments are clear. You need to buy access to the interactive book. Every week theres a chapter quiz and discussion post with 2 replies. Make sure you elaborate or shell deduct points. Midterm is proctored -her study guide is helpful. Final is not proctored. 2 visitation papers. She gives extra credit.

I've never given a professor a rating, but professor Gittings deserves one she's AMAZING, she cares about her students and the course is never boring if taken with her. Her work is not overwhelming at all. No reason to not pass with an A .

She is amazing! She is one of those professors that really enjoys the teaching process. I usually never do reviews, but I she is worth one. She is hilarious! You will still have to study, and do essays,but you will love doing it. You can feel her passion and it motivates you. Group projects and lots and lots of fun. Oh, sugar shack!

Don't take her unless you have lots of time to do homework + extra random assignments that require going to museums, concerts, etc. she is and overall easy professor. She is super nice and she does give endless opportunities to make up. Her assignments are easy but too many at a time.

She is so sweet. Her assignments are mostly partnered up or group projects. She gives LOTS of extra credit that if you do all of them you can be exempted from the final. There is a midterm and 2 projects.

I took her Humanities class and I am a marketing major so I'm usually not into those kinds of classes. But OMG trust me when I tell you she makes the class extremely fun and funny. Her personality is outstanding. She's so good, studying for her 2 tests is going to be fun plus the final was online.

Online class. Delayed feedback as my classmates and I could barely reach her due to her studying abroad. She would definitely make up for it 1000% with loads of information. Always looks out for her students. If she werent away for the summer she'd be 100% but I'd give her a 90%. Work is EASY

She's funny, caring, and knows how to teach. I enjoy writing so I liked her assignments (though they're time consuming), but I wouldn't recommend her if you want an easy A or don't like writing. Don't skip class- it lowers your grade. Do all the online hw (easy), complete the projects, and learn the final study guide and you're set.

Professor Gittings will make you work for your grade, but she's so funny and her class is amazing. Even though there was a lot of homeworks, I enjoyed her class a lot and I would take her again if I could!

1 final, a lot of drawing assignments (easy), group projects some were hard, a solo PowerPoint presentation, a lot of inquizitive assignments, 1 formal art analysis (had to go to MDC art exhibit at Wolfson). she was super nice and fun I would've loved to have her again.

Professor Gittings is truly a professor that cares about her students and makes the entire group feel like a family. She's fun and energetic so class sessions are literally never boring. She is very patient when it comes to answering questions that even I thought were ridiculous and gives lots of extra credit. The information is also interesting.

I love this class. I have not yet finished but I have about 2 weeks left. I do not now why Professor Gittings ratings are so low. She is the absolute best!! She makes the class so much fun and interesting. She is a harsh grader but that is because she wants what is best for you. absolutely loved her and would take another class with her.

Online (due to COVID-19). Here's what happened: Work for your grade. Expect to read. Book questions are easy. Not advisable to procrastinate or wing it. No exams. Discussion questions were verbal. Professor was little disorganized. Live/interesting class session. Kind and fun attitude/vibe. Grades after a week. Experience may differ in future.

As long as you do your work (usually isnt difficult) and participate, you will pass. We had to do flip grids, and a film project at the end which was so much fun to do. She makes class entertaining and cares about her students.

Took Prof. Wheeler online during the 8 week fall mini term. There was work but plenty of time to finish it. The work itself was easy and simple. Never interacted face-to-face with the professor but she was very accessible and always willing to help. She is a gem and very caring, amazing prof. overall. Definitely recommend taking her.

Taurie Gittings-Wheeler is definitely an amazing human being and a great professor. Yes, she is a tough grader, but she does give you a second chance to improve your work. I'm personally not that great in art but enjoyed her class a lot, especially the final project, that we had instead of the Final exam.

took this class online, it was ok. Attendance is 100% mandatory and you have to show your face for the entire class. the professor is VERY sweet, overall easy class. You just have to make sure you are doing all of the assignments if you want to pass. nothing too hard, you just have to be on top of your stuff.

She's a great professor who cares abut each one of her students. You must participate and put in the work. Many of the assignments are done in groups or pairs. If I ever get the opportunity to take her class again, I definitely will. I loved the way that she teaches the course, it was fun and was still able to learn.

The Professor is pretty charismatic, she's nice but can definitely be sarcastic. She did let us make up assignments that we missed or got a low grade on during final's week and the final was pretty much optional. She's kinda organized too. We had two group projects to do though, so :/

Prof Gittings makes the subj fun and interesting. She is a bit eccentric. However, she is very kind and understanding. She will give you extensions and lots of extra credit opportunities. The final is optional. The only real critique it's difficult to reach her outside of class by email. However, she will help you during/after class.

She is very caring and you can tell that she loves what she does. The only thing is that she never answers emails, never!! But if you want to communicate with her she is very easy to talk to after class. Class is fun, you get to experiment with multiple thing like paint and texture. Just make sure you do your sketchbook on time.

She is very gentle with people and likes to see everyone sharing their ideas. She is funny which make the class enjoyable. You will need a book for her class.

Professor Gittings is an amazing teacher she made lecture fun and tried to make everyone feel included. She was giddy & always cracking jokes. She did assign group work but nothing too hard and she would always review with you before the test, she even allowed us to use our notes. You have to study a lot for this class and it is very term/vocabulary heavy. The grading is pretty spread out but make sure you get a good grade on the midterm or it can take you from an A to an D or even a F pretty quickly. Final project is also a lot to do but it's manageable if you have the time. Overall an easy and good class.

She is a great professor. In my experience, half of the class was spent talking about random stuff and the other half is when she actually teaches. She has a lot of extra credit opportunities. Her hw was long but easy (everything is online) so if you do your work u will get a good grade.

(MDC Online) Good class. Do your InQuizitive, Ebook, and discussion assignments on time and you should pass. She will sometimes accept late work/extend due dates. We had to visit a museum and write a paper on it. She gave us info on how to get a free pass into the museum so dw abt that. The final wasn't too bad, I used Quizlet/ebook to study

This is a good class to take if you need a humanities credit (MDC Online) She had the class laid out very clearly from day 1, extended some deadlines, overall she is not fussy and does nothing unexpected. Class was very smooth. 10/10

This professor is really nice and really good, she cares about your grade and responds to your emails when she can. I recommend her, there was a final but my class was offered the opportunity to take an alternative project instead, it was easy just time consuming.

I took her class exclusively online in the Spring and it was a great experience. I often found that she would stress herself out for the sole purpose of making sure that her students were taken care of. My only complaint was the length of the classes. Partially my fault in choosing class times. Found my love for the Venus de Milo in this class10/10

Professor Gittings is one of my favorite professors I've ever had at MDC. She's a great professor and knowledgeable in the subjects she teaches (I took her for humanities Spring 2020 and theater appreciation Fall 2022). I had a surgery in 2022 and she let me make up the work and I was able to bring up my grade with extra credit. Highly recommend!:)

GREAT PROFESSOR!! she has 3 tests and the 2 are the same and the last one is a little confusing but easy. You can do it, it's easy trust.

Professor Gittings-Wheeler is an amazing professor. I took her course through MDC Online and it was an experience. She is a great teacher and knows her subject, but the subject was rather difficult for me. I would take her class if it was another subject. She is a top tier professor.

Professor Gittings is a great professor. Art appreciation is a difficult course especially since it was a mini-term. Complete the museum paper with time because it is difficult. She is a great communicator. She graded all assignments late, but she graded everything very professionally. Would her again not the subject.

Out of my academic "career" she was by far HANDS DOWN one of the best professor I've EVER had! I had her for a summer term for and it was a 4 hour class, she was so interactive, funny, and entertaining that the class felt like an HOUR long. till this day she was one of my first ever college professor and I wont ever forget her

This professor is hands down absolutely amazing. She made learning extremely fun and offers many opportunities for extra credit. She's very caring toward her students and clearly passionate about what she teaches. Participation matters, and she is very fair and generous when grading. Would 10/10 take her again.
