Hands down one of the best professors ever!!!! Warm, kind, compassionate, and wants to see all of his students succeed in school, future careers, and in life. Extremely helpful in accommodating me for my severe/profound hearing impairment! Definitely a professor I still keep in contact with many chemistry and biology classes later. Thanks Ted!!

Advising all pre-Nursing or other majors to take this professor for Organic Chemistry. Makes the class fun and more clear at the Orchard Lake campus. The drive is long, but worth the better grade and understanding overall.

Oh my gosh, I cannot say enough about Ted! He is truely the BEST instructor at Madonna. He is always energenetic and in a good mood! I learned a lot from his class! His tests are EASY because he tells you exactly what is on them & he also reviews the material a lot! Before going on, he ALWAYS makes sure everyone gets the material!

Hands down the best professor I have ever had. He is so willing to help and makes class so much fun. I am not a science person, but I looked forward to Chemistry class because he is so excited abojut teaching and is so helpful! It is worth the drive to Orchard Lake to take Ted!

Ted is a great chemistry professor and he makes sure everyone knows the material. His tests can be tricky but I recommend taking him for general chemistry.

I love this teacher. He is the best chemistry teacher. Very easy grader, and exams are not hard at all. He is open to all questions in class, and makes sure you understand the material. I very much recommend taking him. I got a high A in the class, anyone can do it.

Ted is an awesome professor! Just look at every other review here. You must attend class, b/c he likes to add additional info that you won't find in your book. Write down everything he says & writes on the board, make flashcards prior to the exam you you'll be golden. Don't be surprised if this quickly becomes your favorite class!

DO NOT BUY THE BOOK! The test were completely from class notes. Attend class take the notes and study and you will get an A. Ted is very interesting and makes chem fun. Class attendance is mandatory for you to get the notes for the test.

Agree, Agree, Agree. Ted is the best prof. out there. This subject is not pleasant yet he makes you want to learn it. He is exicted about, very smart,knows the subject like the back of his hand but yet is still able to teach it in a way that "the rest of us" can understand. By far the best prof at Madonna!!!!

I hate Chemistry, but managed to get an A in this class and actually learned something! He was very funny and told you exactly what to expect on the tests... plus you get to drop your lowest test. As long as you go to class, take notes, and do some studying you are golden! Awesome!

Ted is really fun, goofy, interesting, and fully prepares you for his exams. You don't need the book, you just need to pay attention. He teaches everything you need to know in an hour of lecture. The tests can be tricky for some but if you just study what he tells you to study, you'll get an A.

He's a good teacher. You don't need your book because he tells you everything you'll need to know for the exams. Don't be fooled by the ratings or what other people say. He is a good teacher but don't underestimate him. His exams are worded tricky and you have to take good notes. He is a good professor and really cares. He wants you to learn.

Ted is a nice guy who wants to see his students succeed in his class. All of his lectures are interesting keeping your attention the whole time (does not run his class the entire period). He is a fast talker and moves quickly through the material, confusing at times, but is willing to answer any questions you have on a topic. NEVER used text book!

Ted is a great teacher. Moves fast. Don't need book. He gives all info for the tests so take good notes. Doesn't use all class time but sticks to answer q's. Will answer all q's no matter how many times it is asked. Wants to make sure that the concepts are clear. If you don't like math then I would suggest a diff class if just going for gen ed req.

He is one of the most sincere, helpful, and genuine professors I've ever had in college. Nothing but great things to say about professor Gish, this guy is a genius on the subject of chem and made going a lot of fun. I didn't receive the grade I could've got due to a huge course load, so make sure you study the notes, as the text was not required.

Ted is an absolutely amazing professor and person. He has passion for what he is teaching and he teaches it well! He is very patient; if you don't understand, even after he repeated it 10 times, he will repeat it again with a smile until you're confident. He really cares about his students and their success. ABSOLUTELY take Gish if you can.

Ted is a super great teacher. He really wants everyone to pass and to understand the material. He goes over things multiple times, does not use text book, does not use the whole class hour. Very funny. His class was confusing at times as he tells stories that pertain the class material and sometimes you can not remember everything.

Had Dr. Gish when he was teaching at the Orchard Lake campus. He is very helpful and willing to help all. His tests are very simplistic and easy if you study hard for them. He is unique and one of the rare science teachers that I respect throughout my life. Everyone should take him - you will definitely learn a lot.

Very interesting and fun professor, lectures are usually an hour but very interesting and makes things easier to understand,lab is easy as long as you show up and do required lab assignments. tests are right from book and notes and curves grades and tests

He is always ready to help and will repeat things to help you understand as many times as needed. His tests are super easy and straightforward. Best professor and made this class very easy to understand. only 3 tests and a final that are directly from his notes but allows one test to be dropped (yes the final can be one of those!!!) very genuinely good person and really cares about your success. I would take every class he offered if I could, highly recommend. DO NOT BUY THE TEXT BOOK

Gish was a great teacher, his passion for the subject and quirkiness made his lectures more interesting and less boring than most professors. He is an easy teacher, tells you exactly what will be on the test, no book needed. But chemistry is still a tough subject, you still need to study because his tests can be a little tricky. Labs are easy too!

I love Ted! One of my favorite professors at Madonna. His tests are right from his notes, I never opened my chemistry book and I got an A. He always stays after class to answer questions and keeps lecture entertaining. Go to SI if it's avalible. Usually there are old tests to look over and they help A TON!!!

Ted Gish is easily one of the best teachers at Madonna University. His lectures usually are very short and all his tests come straight from the notes he gives in lecture. Gish is very energetic and will not move on from a topic until everyone understands it. Plus, he is from Colorado which means he's super nice. I hated chemistry before 1610!

You need to show up and do the work in order to pass. He is super easy to work with and is willing to answer any questions you might have before and after class. By far he is the BEST professor I've ever taken!

I always wanted to study science but found Chemistry discouraging. I never fully grasped the concepts. However, after Chem1010 with Ted Gish, it's one of my favorites! I FINALLY understand chemistry. He is also passionate and makes sure that the class understands the material. Plus, he's funny.

Solid teacher, great classes. A little disorganized, but fun. You'll think the whole class is failing, but he'll adjust the curve to give you a proper grade.

Very awesome lab prof for organic chemistry. The lab quizzes were extremely hard, the average was like 50%, but he tries his hardest to prepare you and make the lab as low stress as possible. He has a lot of jokes and acronyms he likes to say that helps lighten up the mood.

Gish is one of the best teachers I've had. He truly cares about his students passing. He understands that most people don't particularly like chemistry so he makes it fun. All things in his lecture and the labs were what he tested on. I never read the book and passed very easily by paying attention. Pay attention to the periodic table he mentions.

Thaddeus Gish is the cool uncle you have always wanted. He makes class as interesting as possible and really wants his students to pass. He may not remember your name, but don't let that stop you from taking this class. Great professor. Stay after to ask him questions. He likes participation, so ask questions during class too! He's very patient and has a unique iginal method for teaching chemistry. Attend every lecture and you will be prepared. For people who are intimidated by Chemistry (like I used to be) he will change your perception completely.

He's an amazing guy if you ever need a good laugh or someone to talk to. Scattered when lecturing, I had him for my lab and he was always willing to help but expected you to attack the problem first.

so... I loved Ted. He was a nice guy and was super passionate about chemistry. I know I shouldn't be complaining about this, but this class was such a joke. I got 70's on my exams and passed with an A and he didn't even care about us taking the final if we finished with a high enough score. I wish I would've learned something for my next chem.

Great Professor

Ted Gish is truly the best professor I have had. He's really passionate for what he does. He really cares about his students their for he curves his exams so that no one fails. He is always available outside of class. He is also very accommodating. I am taking him again in the summer and I'm actually looking forward to his class. CANT WAIT!

I have never loved chem more than when I took it with Ted! He makes it easy and simple and gives you only what you need to know, not the other garbage that you never use in life. I also took his LAB class and it was simple and easy, we would do the lab for that day and do the assignment and be out within an hour or an hour and 20 minutes!

Best teacher by far at Madonna and I have had absolutely wonderful teachers here. Ted is super understanding and makes life chemistry easy to understand and follow by having relatable lectures. Ted will have you laughing and enjoying learning at the same time. I HIGHLY recommend him as a teacher for any subject!

Ted Gish is truly an amazing professor. He is very accommodating. He cares about his students. He curves all the exams and overall grade and if you pass all three exams you don't have to take the final. However, I feel alot of students take advantage of him and rely on him curving their grade because they do so bad in the class.

Dr. GIsh is one of the best professors I have ever had. He CARES and wants you to succeed. He tries to make his lectures fun. He has a heart of gold and Chemistry is not my forte and one of the hardest classes but if you take it with Gish he makes it do-able.

Gish is an amazing person that seems passionate about teaching but often gets distracted and rarely teaches CHM material. His lectures were definitely entertaining and somewhat relevant to lecture material. I'd say in order to pass you'd have to show up or attend online because some of the test material is specific to what is discussed in lectures.

Ted is the best professor for CHEM1610. He is very laid back and his lectures are barely an hour and a half. He is a very funny professor as well. He responds to emails very quickly and wants everyone to succeed. Grade is only from exams, but if you show up and pay attention, you will do well! Also, you are able to drop your worst exam grade.
