very annoying, only talks about sports
Very willing to work with you.
i've been studouged! ha ha ha
get off the subject easily, don't learn much during the actual class time
didnt learn much in class and tests are confusing sometimes
Very boring, talks about sports and tests over things not covered in class!
He is an awful teacher, doesn't care "let's watch a video"
Very unclear about what he wants; Does not answer questions; Shows movies a lot
No Comments
Funny as hell, everything he says is funny. Fun class.
He is an awful teacher, couldn't care less about students.hard tests bad videos
Don't take him, he talks during your whole test!
Fabulous, sexy, and cool; intellegent man, we will miss him
distracted, gives answers during test
he is a very easy teacher, take him if you just have to fullfill requirements
No Comments
Good teacher funny and easy to get along with i would recomend him
can be annoying, but can communicate with students well; go on the field trips
Funny, doesnt stay on topic. Didnt learn much but had fun and was an easy grade
Very easy, wants everyone to get an A. Very good sense of humor.
pretty easy. study a little and you'll be ok& read chapters.you'll watch videos
Nice funny guy...tries to get his students to like him
I like his style of teaching
No Comments
Easy going, doesn't stay on task, but if you are friendly to him you'll do fine.
Since he's taken over, it's been a total joke. I'll be surprised if I learn anything.
GREAT class...a funny guy, talks ALL the time, especially during tests and quizzes, not too hard-read the chapters and do a few extra credit assignments, and you're good to go.
Good Guy, good class, and easy grade
Neat guy, funny to watch. Easy teacher and the stuff I learned, I'll remember.
Teacher for guys...sports everything... the most i rembered from his class was what his home bathrooom looked like and how he had it organized
Gets off the subject too often, but he's nice....get on his good side and you'll be okay...read the chapters and try not to fall asleep in class...the material isn't communicated too well.
Gets off the subject and tells stories that are usually funny. He is really nice and a good teacher if u get on his good side.
Interesting and funny teacher. Classes are fun and enjoyable especially for the male population. Gets the job done in a different fashion.
I THINK THAT HE IS A GOOD TEACHER AND HE IS KINDA HOTT TO!
I love this teacher. You have to read the chapters b/c he doesnt go over everything in class. Tests are kinda hard, but his personality is great. He makes my morning more enjoyable.. and he knows Garth Brooks!
Goudge is AWESOME!!!
GOOD LORD this man is boring! Slept through his classes half the time and passed...shows lots of videos and stops them to comment. NEVER STOPS TALKING!
Goudge is an alright teacher. His test are sometimes a little difficult but not impossible. He loves to tell stories (often about either Garth Brooks or cell phones or football). Very easily gets off the subject. Sometimes gives extra credit quizzes.
Very nice guy with the best intentions but also gets off subject beery quickly. Isnt the greatest teacher so just bear with him and you should be fine
Good teacher, makes you laugh....not always on purpose. Seems to be a very nice guy. Recommended
He gets off the subject very easily, doesn't communicate the material well, shows videos that are boring and rarely lectures on anything important. Who cares about Garth Brooks or football? This is Geography! I sleep through most every class.
i have had 4 courses with goudge and he is one of my advisors. he is always fun and approaches class in a much more relaxed fashion. i thouroughly enjoy his classes and would recommend him to anyone. he's a teacher and a friend.
He's funny and nice, but jeez! The man NEVER stops talking...even during tests! And he rarely stays on the subject. And I just don't CARE that you know Garth Brooks, just teach me something about geography, because I am LOST on the tests!
Very funny guy; i get my entertainment for the day listening to him; oh yeah, for the class, he never tells us anything relevant to his tests or what will be on quizzes; i like his points for attendance and thats why im squeaking by with a B
Funny man! Tends to get off the subject and talk about Garth or football. Provides plenty of extra credit to help you
He made by first semester go by a lot smoother.
great teacher really tries to help and be a good friend is very competent.
Good teacher. Very easy class, and you will still learn something.
Ok..he cannot multitask...at all.He tells funny stories, very amusing.Helps out on quizzes.Overall he is just a really nice guy, but he does talk an awful lot,and I am not learning much,so if it is a relevant class you need to understand, take a diff prof.
Realy good teacher takes a sincere interest in students lives both in and out of school. Has no problem meeting with students. I think some of these comments need to be rethought.
If you want to actually learn something... STAY AWAY!! He is a really funny teacher, but always gets off the topic... and you never accomplish anything!! He has a million and one power point slides to go over every day, and you never get through them!!
Funny guy, but talks alot! He DOES talk during tests and says we have to get used to it because it's not quiet in the real world or something... He is a good teacher overall i guess, he answers questions and is willing to help but is kinda confusing.
This is my second class with him. Granted he does talk a lot if you listen sometimes you can actually learn something. You have to listen really hard though. Oh yeah read the book it helps and go see him after class he helps you out bigtime!!!
Ted is a great guy and he really lets you learn and expand your knowledge. His course on sports geography is kind of boring, but everything else was fun.
Awesome teacher and great guy overall. He really cares about his students. Yes, he talks about many other things, unrelated to class, but is interesting. Go to class and youll be fine.
Goudge is a good teacher, but don't take People-Culture World Online. I had him for Geography, and he was pretty cool. This online class is BORING, and the chapters are about 50 pages each and you have to take a quiz on one every week, not to mention the test which includes 2-3 chapters at a time!!
Very nice guy, funny, and very easy. You won't learn much but it doesn't matter cause it's soo easy. Will get off subject very quickly. If you like Garth Brooks take this class becaue he knows him really well, and he can go on for hours about Garth.
Ted gets off subject very easy. The class seems easy because you don't do ANYTHING. But come test time you have no idea what will be on the test and the tests kill your grade. Classes are spent talking about sports and his life. Its pretty easy to pass the class but not get an A.
This guy was fun to listen to, but i did not think he taught the class to well. He drifted off subject and his tests are very hard, and so are his online quizes. He doest help much and he is sometimes gone during office hours, and is poor about returning e-mail. I would advise avoiding him.
Goudge is an awesome teacher, sure he may get off topic but he still gets the material out there for you to learn. I enjoyed every day in that class, definetly recommend him if you want a fun relaxed class, just don't be afraid to step up and actually do some of your own work.
He gets off topic very easily. The class seems easy but that's because you don't do anything. The online quizes csn kill your grade. Make sure you know the material before you begin the quiz. Take this class if you want an easy class period, but be prepared to study and work outside of class to pass
Good easy class. Nice guy, makes it intersting.
Goudge is the best. Tests and quizzes are sort of hard. Attendance counts for A LOT so go to class! You will definately be entertained. He curves all the tests and will reset your quiz grade if you ask him to. He offers a lot of extra credit to help your grade. Wants everyone to do well.
This guy may be clinically insane, but he's a nice guy overall and trys to make class interesting. He is annoying at first, but he kind of grows on you as the semester continues, and you start to understand his humor. There are lots of quizzes to keep up on- they are kind of hard. Study for tests.
I loved this class just because he was the teacher. Very laid back guy who likes to talk about anything. He gets off the subject easy. I would consider changing my major just because he is the teacher of that class. Quizzes are a little tough but you can easily get an A if you study a little bit.
Great class, tons of fun stuff to do. He is funny at times. His quizzes are kinda tough but the tests were easy to study for.
This kind of teacher makes you want to puke when you realizing you're paying for this class. He's TERRIBLE. Doesn't teach, doesn't go over test material, just cracks stupid jokes that aren't funny and wastes three hours of your week. Please save yourself and don't take this class with him!!!
Not really sure what was accomplished in this class. A nice guy, but I was lost the entire semester. Always gave out assignments and never went through with them.
Class was pretty boring but it is an easy A. I studied for 1 test and then did bonus for him and i got an A. Go up and ask him to do bonus.
Good guy. Not really a thinking man's class but he does place too high of emphasis on actual attendance. But any sports fan would love to be entertained by him. His section on sports geography saved my grade 2 yrs ago. Oh yeah humorous test-taking policies are worth checking out man.
Dont expect to learn much, class is a joke. Might as well take an independent study course in geog.
He takes attendance so you want to go for the points, if it wasn't for that I wouldn't go at all. He talks about absolutely nothing in class. Read your chapters and study.
nice guy, he just needs to work on his skills a little more. I came to class on time, sometimes he is there by the time I would show up, sometimes he was late, but notlate enough for everybody to leave. I would basically sit there for about 15-45 min, listen to him talk about nothing as he sat up, or he'd look at random websites. waste of time!
He rambles a lot and doesnt spend much time teaching, his tests are kind of hard, but if you study the quizzes you will do good. ASK FOR EXTRA CREDIT he is so nice about it. I should have gotten a D and I got an A just because I asked for extra credit. So i helped him with stats and he bumped it up a ton. If he likes you you will get an A
I don't think he teaches.
A nice guy, but class is pointless. Unless you want to come and listen to him babble about how he is best friends with Garth Brooks, don't bother.
Goudge is probably the sweetest teacher ever. Don't expect to learn much, but he is an awesome guy. You get attendance points, but it is pretty much pointless to go to class unless he gives a pop quiz that day, in which he gives you all the answers. He offers a lot of extra credit and his tests are pretty easy if you go over the study guide.
I didn't go to class for a month. Got a B. That's the kind of guy he is. Wow...what a fine academic institution!
He spends the entire time messing around on his computer and doing things he should have done before class. The only help he offers is to give you an overview before the test. I had to end up teaching everything to myself. I guess if you want the latest on how sports teams are doing, he's the one to take.
He's a terrible teacher. He talks about everything BUT geography and the exams are absolutely ridiculous. If you want a good grade on the exam you better read and take notes on your own time cause you certainly won't be learning anyhthing during class. I was excited to take it and I can honestly say that I learned nothing and wasted my time and $.
Was always late, didnt make sense, talked about everything BUT geography, didnt learn a THING
He's a sports geographer and unless he's teaching you sports geography (which isn't in the book, so you can't teach it to yourself like all the other chapters...) he's always going off on a tangent, the only reason he doesn't when he's teaching sports geography is because all of his random tangents have to do with sports. VERY big waste of time!!!!
He's a very nice guy but when it comes time to teach he has no idea what he's doing, if you take him you're pretty much going to be teaching yourself! My advice take Corsin I had friends that took him and they said he was easy!!
goudge is a nice teacher, but he does not stay on topic and so on the tests you have to read the text. Takes attendence daily
Would not recommend him. Took online class and it was a horrible experience. He gave us old tests over things that were not covered in the new book. Apologized for it, but did not fix the problem. Never answers emails. If I were to do it over again, I would not take him!
To say- '****in Idiot' would not be fair he has promis. But, if your not a jock or an idiot your self- find something else.
Haha.. where to begin?? Extremely nice guy, super funny. I'm a 4.0 student and struggled with his class.. mainly because of his tests and the occasional inclass quizes. My mistake was not reading the textbook-- im sure if you do that, you'll do alright. You kind of have to teach yourself the material.. which sucks, frustrating semester.
this class if difficult bc he is not clear whats on the tests etc. i should have been failing but I continued emailing him and would always say hi to him when i saw him, therefor i got a B in the class somehow.
Mr. Gouge has added a level of difficulty to this "easy A course" by adding singing during quizzes and not answering emails when problems with E-companion arise. But to his credit I would have to mention how he has enriched my love for Garth Brooks. If Geography is your passion I would recommend taking it with Corson!
nice guy, funny, just don't get much out of the class. i enjoy his class though
I'm a good student, but I had trouble in Ted Goudge's class--he is not clear about the subject of his quizzes, and he was ever very good about alerting us to online assignments. He is a very nice guy, but has the attention span of a gnat--I'm not exaggerating much. He's hard to get a hold of and doesn't respond to emails quickly. Do NOT take him.
Goudge is a good guy, but not a very good professor. His lectures are pretty pointless. The guy can go off on a completely random tangent while he is lecturing, for up to 10 minutes at a time. There are three big tests, which count as the main basis of your grade, worth 100 points each.
I personally loved his class, but I know that it can go either way. He is very social, and easy to sidetrack. Be prepared to study on your own because chances are that in class you will be talking about a football game instead of Geography. He was funny, and interesting. It's easy to pass his class, you just have to do some work outside of class.
Good guy, bad teacher. Don't really get much out of lectures, but you get points for showing up!!
I had the Goudge for Gen Ed. Geography last semester and loved his class.Lots of people didn't like him cause he got off subject but he really is a funny guy and keeps class entertaining. You never knew what'd talk about that day.Just go to the S.I's before each test and you'll do fine.Sit in the front too he remembers those people the most.
Goudge's classes are so pointless. He spent our whole first period talking about how hot Lindsay Lohan is. His notes are sporadic and he is very unclear about what's important and what's not. The online quizzes are hard. The only thing that helped me was the SI, who gave us study guides before every test.
He's an alright guy, funny and sociable when he's in a good mood but very nasty when he's in a bad mood. His class was boring and useless, if there wasn't mandatory attendance I would never have gone. Go to SI, get an A.
He's an alright guy, funny and sociable when he's in a good mood but very nasty when he's in a bad mood. His class was boring and useless, if there wasn't mandatory attendance I would never have gone. Go to SI, get an A.
Funny guy, but lectures don't help.
Didn't learn anything in this class, unless you count all the random crap he talks about which has nothing whatsoever to do with a class. Either late or on Friday when he didn't come due to "research work". To sum it all up: REFUND PLEASE!!! They should pay us to be in there.
Very fun guy, does know his stuff, you just have to pay attention to realize that he does, so yes, his seemingly pointless stories do have a point, there are just hidden. Easy, but can be hard to get an A if you don't do well on the tests, which could be due to the lack of good information told during lectures. Advice: just study on your own time.
He gets off subject a lot and actually knows his stuff just seems to get off target a lot. I would recommend going to class and listening and trying to take notes. Pay attention to the examples he uses and the vocab in the book and that he gives you. He usually curves his grades so do halfway well and you will do fine.
Didn't learn anything. Be prepared to teach yourself. Lectures are irrelevant to what's on the exam. Never know what to focus on for exams. In class quizes are over the material that's SUPPOSED to be covered in class but isn't. Attendence is mandatory, but a waste of time. He does offer extra credit which is a plus. Bad at email responses.
He is not a instructor I would recommend to somebody. It's a waste of time to go to class. You never learn anything that is going to be on the quiz. You pretty much have to teach yourself or hope you have a TA that will do SI's. That's the only way I learned anything at all in his class.
Do not take him. Going to the class was pointless other than the attendance points. He rambled and was off topic. Sometimes he did cover info, but it was very little. Basically you are teaching yourself the course. When you don't understand the material from not being taught and do poorly on the tests he calls you developmentally challenged.
DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!
Do not take his classes. There is no clarity about what is being learned and the only way to pass the tests is to teach yourself everything.
HORRIBLE TEACHER HE GETS OFF TOPIC SO MUCH!!!!
easy class if you go and the homework is also easy
easy class just go and do the homework. if you go you will get all the info you need to get a good grade
The Goudgemeister is a very entertaining professor. Yeah, he may not actually lecture about anything on the tests and he may go off topic every 2 seconds, but he's a nice guy. If you go to class, do your online quizzes and do the extra credit, you'll be fine.
HIS CLASS IS SO POINTLESS!!!!!Can not stay on task more then 5 or 6 seconds
This guy knows his stuff. He is an excellent teacher. You just need to pay attention. He makes the class fun. I recommend him highly
Everybody says that he is a bad teacher but he really is not. His class lectures might be boring at times but as long as you go to class you will get attendance points. The test are so easy you literally have to try to fail them.
Rambles on a lot and talks while you are taking tests. He really does know his geography though so any questions you have will get answered. You use the textbook maybe twice the whole semster. Basically if you can tune him out and read your textbook you'll be fine.
Yes he is a really nice guy and he might ramble on a little in class but if you have any questions then just go to his office and ask. Its not an easy class but if you try and read the textbook outside of class then you will do good on the test. He is the most friendly college professor I've had so far
Worse instructor. He is all over the place & highly confused. Don't expect to learn anything from him. Easy A yes definitely a GPA booster but don't expect to learn anything from him. Total waste of money.
Easy class as long as you show up and pay attention. He is a little all over the place during class and gets off topic really easy. Very willing to help. If you go to his office with questions he will give you the answers to the study guides and pretty much tell you what is going to be on the tests.
Nice!
"Teddy Lynn" told more stories about his life than Intro to Geography lecture - which I thought made class kinda interesting since you never knew what he was going to say that day, but it also made exams kinda hard since we rarely covered the information in class.
I took him for Introduction to Geography. I have no interest in Geography at all, but he made this class very, very easy. He DOES have an interesting sense of humor and can make some inappropriate jokes, but if you ask he will basically give you all the answers to the study guides. He can get off topic, just read the book. Great guy, easy class!
Overall, this course is an easy B. To recieve an A, it will take some effort. About 8 quizzes online, some answers are on the internet while some are in the book. About 3-4 in class quizzes, much harder than online ones. Do his study guides for the 3 tests and know the material on them and the sample questions and you should get an A on them.
An easy class overall. He has a problem staying to topic, but if you pay attention to the rare times that hes actually teaching the exams and quizes are pretty easy. He provides questions over the chapter for review also.
Truly awesome man! He's funny and very interesting!
Oh my god if I could just learn geography that would be great. Instead, we learned his interpretation of psychology, how college football is concentrated in the South, and something about segways. Someone please help.
Literally learned nothing in the class except in the topics regarding College Football in the South and the Royals. Review sheets for tests are very disorganized, lecture has never lasted a full class period. Never know what to study for for exams and quizzes, because we learn nothing in class. He's a nice guy, but very scatterbrained
Nicest guy ever, but considering I learned nothing in this class I'd say he's not the best teacher. We mostly looked at maps and talked about sports. He's super scatterbrained. We learned nothing during class and his tests are super hard because his overviews do not cover the material. Take him if you're ready to teach yourself the whole syllabus.
This class was a joke. He is all over the place and he never goes over anything. If you wanna sleep in a class, this is it. But you learn nothing and its not even that easy to get an A. B, def.
His lectures are very boring and go on for a long time. He gets frustrated that not every one cares about geography as much as him. One of the things that I hate is that he puts random world event questions on his test that you can only know if you watch the news every minute. He also puts things on the test that he briefly mentioned once in class.
He is a super nice guy and cares about how you are doing in class. Don't be afraid to ask for extra credit. The extra credit is really easy.
He's a great guy, but teaching isn't. He talks about irrelevant topics in class and the tests are hard unless you read and take detailed notes on the long chapters. He's always wiling to help you during his office hours and if you let him know what grade you are aiming for, he will give it to you. Don't be afraid to ask for extra credit!!!!!!!!!!!!
He allows you to do as much extra credit as you want which is good. To pass the test you need to read the book, as most of the questions are from it, and pay attention to the current events that he talks about. He really likes to talk about sports but overall he is a good teacher.
Very Friendly teacher, takes as much extra credit as you need which is really nice, defintely read the book to pass the quizzes and tests. Pay attention to any news or current events he talks about. Talks a ton about sports and shows lots of maps. Very good/fun teacher overall!
I took Intro to Geo with Goudge, almost everything was graded easy and online. All of the online quizzes have answers on quizlet if you just google the question. Read the book before tests because he uses questions from there. He will give pretty much unlimited extra credit and if you miss an assignment he lets you turn it in at the end of semester
He is a horrible, horrible, horrible teacher. If you want to learn anything, you better teach yourself. He can't even use basic technology and only brags about himself. You MIGHT learn something if you know anything about football, because that's all he relates it to. If you don't have to take him, DON'T.
This Class is a joke. I'm in class right now and we are helping him send emails and he cant work a computer. he talks about topics irrelevant. i hope you like sports because thats what half of the questions on quizzes and tests will be about. If you actually want to learn do not take this class as you will learn nothing.
I didn't learn anything from him. All we talked about was sports and news that was not relevant to learning anything in his class. His overview don't help on tests and the test is made up of random small facts in the book or news that you'd have to watch every single day all day to know the answer to. I would recommend taking Geog with someone else
By far my favorite teacher at Northwest. Super funny and is extremely caring. The test are the only thing that are hard but if you study a tad for each test you will be certain an A or a high B. He also gives a lot of extra credit which will bring you up extremely. I would recommend taking him in the spring too because of march madness ex credit.
I usually never have issues staying awake during class, even in the early morning, but dear lord did my eyes droop constantly with him. The lectures were boring. As were the videos. He will curve exams which is good. He likes to bring sports into the mix which I felt didnt belong in a geography class
Mr. Goudge is probably one of the worst teachers I have ever had. He gets off topic too easily & won't start the actual lesson until 10-20 minutes after class which is a clear waste of everyone's time and money. He talks too much about sports & his family. He likes to show off his maps that he's made with sports & claims everything has geography.
Goudge is an average professor. He is knowledgeable in his field and enjoys teaching his material. Most of the points in the class are tests and quizzes. The class is not hard if you try a moderate amount. He appreciates students who go the extra mile, and gives an adequate amount of extra credit. Grads Or Undergrads, Don't Go Elsewhere.
I had Goudge for Intro to Geography and as a freshman I was blindsided. He lectures on and on, barely covering the material. All of the tests are over textbook material, to keep up with it you have to read 1 chapter every week starting as soon as you get the book. AVOID TAKING HIS CLASS AT ALL COSTS!!!
He is the best professor soooooo glad I took his class. Very understanding if you need to be gone. Will let you turn in late homework for a grade. Very funny guy loves to joke around in class with everyone. Does not put test on lock down browser so very easy tests.
Nice dude, but worst professor I have ever had. Going to class is pointless, bcs you learn NOTHING, but GO because you get points for it. His tests are awful. You have to learn everything on your own from the textbook. You watch a ton of videos. Gives extra credit. He talks too much about sports, and has favorites in the class.
His class is probably the easiest one Ive had so far. Quizlet will really help with his test. He does not use Lockdown Browser. He gives tons of extra credit. Hes a funny guy and sometimes gets off topic. Hes an ok teacher but its an easy A
