He is a very nice guy and really will help you if you ask him. His essays are difficult at first but turn out to be interesting. He loves informal, personal writing, and can't stand analytical stuff. Take him!

Great great great. Extremely helpful!
Readings were very interesting... very energetic even though it was 8:00 in the morning!!!!!
He was the gratest english teacher i've ever had! Super nice, and he really helps with your writing.
Amazing teacher!!!
Probably one of the most incredible teachers and human beings I have ever had the pleasure of learning from. I HIGHLY recommend anything he teaches.
Best teacher I have had in 20 years of living, and I say that with no doubt in my mind. Every person going to the U of A should try their hardest to get Ted as a teacher, itll be the best three credits you will ever earn, guaranteed.
The absolutely most amazing teacher. Made everything fun and interesting and is soooo hilarious. If you get Ted you are very lucky don't switch out.
Mr.McLoof is awesome. I was worried coming into this class, but I lucked out with this awesome teacher. His class is so chill and his truthful bluntness is hilarious. He is very helpful too!
Ted is one of the most amazing people I have ever met. You NEED to take him before graduating, as a professor he will literally change your life. He is such a great teacher, that after taking his 101 and 102 class, I decided to switch my major to English. WONDERFUL teacher; honor to have taken his classes.
Amazing professor. I came in expecting this class to be a joke, but he really takes it seriously and really wants to help you improve your writing. His lectures were always fun and goofy, never dull or dry. He is a hard grader, but in the end, I think he gives you what you deserve based on effort.
Professor McLoof has been such a helpful teacher!! He is super energetic and is really interested in wanting you to succeed. He is funny and inviting each and every class. I would take him for every english course if I could!! I definitely recommend him!
Ted is the man, there's no getting around that. The class was actually useful, and i liked it enough to actually go even though it was an 8 AM. He really wants to help everyone and will take alot of his own free time to do that. I wish i could take him for 102. Take his class.
He's the best english teacher I've ever had. He's really chill and funny. Also extremely helpful. I was able to earn an A even though my writing skill is terrible. He gives you a lot of freedom to write whatever comes to your mind as long you get your points across. I highly HIGHLY recommend him!! ^^
Best teacher I've ever had in my entire college experience. He is always there for advice, help, and available to answer any questions you may have. He knows what good writing is and knows how to get his students to see it, too. If I ever make it as a writer, it is purely because of the guidance I received from him. Do not pass up a class taught by Ted. You can do no better.
He is one of the best teachers I've had! He truly cares about his students and is always there to help no matter what. He is hilarious and class is always entertaining thanks to him. His assignments can be a little vague but that's because he tries to get the students to let their own voices and opinions be heard. Best class!
Ted is a great teacher. I hated all my other English classes, but this one was great. I highly reccomend getting into his section if you can.
Dude is solid. One of the best teachers I have had. Knows what he is talking about and makes you want to go to class. He really helped improve my writing skills. Although, I have been told I'm a pretty good writer from my other teachers and have stuck to the same routine, Ted switched it up and it was for the better.
THE BEST english teacher. Makes everyone in the class feel smart and appreciated. Really tries to help you improve your writing skills using a different method. I am a good writer but he has helped me become more well rounded in my writing. Always willing to help you on your essays at anytime. Really works with you to help you succeed. TAKE HIM!!!!
The best professor in college I have ever had. Only papers in class and he helps a lot. I love this guy. Wish I could take him again.
Ted is a great Professor. He was always Helpful when it came to writing Essays during his 1 on one meetings. His class is easy as long as you pay attention to his teaching. I would recommend this professor for 102 students because I learned lot from him. A love each and every moment I spent in his class. Follow my Advice and you will not regret.
GREAT PROFESSOR!! best ive had at the U of A! Awesome dude very kind and different from other past teachers of english (not old and boring). the course is great and he makes it fun. If you do the work and meet with him often you will be fine. Average guy but great professor. go cats!
Ted is a great professor, the class was awesome and fun. He is extremely helpful with feedback on essays and will meet with you any time. The structure of the class is nice and fresh and most importantly you get to choose what you want to write about. I highly suggest taking one of his classes.
Great professor. Sarcastic and very funny, makes the class interesting; very helpful through any essay and assignments.
Great teacher! This class is so easy and he keeps it funny/interesting! Writing assignments are a piece of cake, plus you get to choose what you want to write about. I would definitely recommend this class!
Best teacher I have ever had. Not an easy grader but very willing to meet with students to give them feedback on their work prior to essay due date. If you need to take Eng 102, I HIGHLY recommend taking from McLoof!
Possibly the best prof I will ever have. Makes class super interesting and will help you whenever you need it. Class was also very fun. Just do what he tells you to do when he revises it and you'll get a good grade. Highly recommend!
AMAZING TEACHER! The teacher made this class fun! He is very funny and knowledgeable. You will love him! I wish all my professors at the UA were like him! I would retake this class if I could! Recommend him to anyone. I signed up for his class late in the afternoon and although it was late it was totally worth it. You will love going to class!
Well, if you're afraid of 102, for pete's sake choose this guy, he'll never turn you down when he says he won't. He's fair in judgement of your essays, and save your cash when buying books, you WON'T need them. No page limit, no MLA format, no "I change my mind, put THIS in your essay instead" he'll offer the MOST comprehensible learning. See ya!
Best english teacher I've ever had hands down! If you want to be in a fun and interesting course take this one. No textbooks needed! Every class is interesting! I had it at 8am and I went to every single one.
BY FAR THE BEST TEACHER!He helps you 100% of the time, he is always there and can relate to students since he is young. Funniest teacher too. If you dont take this class I feel bad for you.
In my entire 4 years of college, and maybe in my entire life in terms of schooling, I have never had such an amazing professor. He is respectable and respectful, two great qualities in a professor. However the best quality I think, was his ability to teach me so much, and make it enjoyable. Pure 5 star professor!!!
Love Ted's class! Best professor you'll have at the U of A. He cares about you and will meet you outside of his school hours. He gives you amazing feedback on papers. I've learned so much, and his essays structures are worth following throughout every other course. Lets not forget that we didn't have to buy textbooks. TED YOU ARE AMAZING!
super Hot! and funny he is the best teacher ever! just take the class!
By far the best teacher I have ever had. The class is easy because he makes the material so easy to comprehend. I've never gotten better feedback on my writing and in general than I received from him. Hands down the coolest guy too. If you get a teacher even remotely like Ted then you're lucky as hell.
Ted is the man, so glad I got him as my English 102 teacher. He is the best teacher you could ever have at this school. Take him, love him, learn from him. He will tend to say things like "Can we please talk about how good I look in this shirt?" hahaha hilarious.
Ted is the best. No textbook requirements, all around funny professor. Is willing to meet outside of class at anytime of the day and helps with your essays. He wants everyone to succeed in his class. Very fair grader. if you do all the essays and try your best youll easily end up with an A or B. Would take this class again.
Ted is the best! You can email him at anytime to meet for help and he will show up within 15-30 minutes. Seriously. This guy is the best professor at U of A! My entire class is trying to get him again for English 102. Show up to class, take advantage of his availability, and listen to his feedback. You'll get an A! Oh and no textbooks!
Ted was the best english professor I have ever had, for sure. He doesn't give you loads of pointless assignments and worksheets like some other professors and teachers tend to give. We watched and analyzed a lot of videos and TV shows which was awesome. We also never used the textbooks. He's a funny guy and is 1000% willing to help you whenever.
He's such an amazing teacher, really cares about his students. He goes above and beyond for us, always willing to meet with you on any given day. He made the class interesting and easy to understand!! I'm actually going to miss his humor and liveliness. He's also hot. You're lucky if you get him!
Ted McLoof is one of the best instructors I've had at U of A. He went out of his way to make himself available to us. His passion for teaching is evident and I highly recommend him as a teacher.
Great writing instructor. Interesting readings. He is very easy-going, but somehow I ended up writing more and working harder than in any other class that involved writing. But it is was fun. He is helpful and clear and easy to reach.
Coolest teacher you'll ever have. I'd recommend him to any student that has to take English 102---and I'd feel sorry for those that don't have him as their teacher. He is young, hilarious, and witty. He is super intelligent and will help your writing improve dramatically. The syllabus says you need a textbook but he will tell you that you don't.
Ted was the best english professor I have ever had. We analyzed a lot of videos and TV shows which was awesome. No textbooks. He doesn't give you pointless assignments like some other professors, there is work but he is ready to help whenever you need it. He is really funny and by far my favorite teacher at this school.
Super easy, makes assignments fun and gets you actually interested in your papers for once.
I have professor M this semester for English and he is by far one of the best English teachers I have ever had. He's smart, funny, and he wants everyone to leave his class with an A. As long as you show up and try, you'll do well. He makes class fun and I actually enjoy going.
Best English professors ever! He was very helpful and made class very interesting. He was funny and made one excited to do their papers. He wants his students to succeed and is there to help whenever. Not too demanding on essay, just as long as you make sure you include all the information he wants. The topics for the essays were interesting.
He is an amazing teacher! He gives you assignments that are necessary for your essays, they aren't just busy work. If you want an A, you need to work for it. There are no books, he posts all the assignments and announcements on d2l.
Ted was probably the most awesome teacher I've ever had. He makes class entertaining and fun to attend. He is a tough grader but it really helps in the long run. If you have any questions or need help he responds back quickly and is ALWAYS willing to help. I would gladly take any of his classes again.
Ted was one of the most amazing English professors I've ever had. There's a lot of pointless English classes you will take, and his class isn't one of them, if you attend class regularly you'll truly enjoy it. He focuses a lot on truly helping his students become better writers and is always available to help, seriously emails back within minutes.
Mcloof was hands down my favorite english teacher of all time. He helps you with every single essay and is available for questions and even meetings 24/7. He relates to the students when he teaches and is super funny. He makes in class lectures interesting and easy to grasp. If you put effort into the work you will definitely get an A
Ted is there for you. For any assignment, any time, any day, even for any class. Amazing professor.
Overall Ted is there for his students. He expects a lot out of you but makes sure that you work for the grade you get. He meets with you outside of class for every essay and is over all a great choice for an English professor!
I can easily say that Ted is the best English teacher I've ever had!! From day one he makes it clear that his students are his biggest priority. He emails back very quickly and is always available to meet. His lectures are very clear and also super entertaining and engaging. I've learned so much from him and would take Ted again in a heartbeat!
Best English Teacher on Campus. He is understanding and devotes everything for his students to succeed in the course. Take him!!!!!!!!!
Ted is awesome! He made Eng 102 super entertaining. He was always available to answer any questions and responds to emails immediately. As long as you do the work, this class is an easy A.
I struggled with English and was really dreading having to take another English class, but Ted made sure he didn't waste his students time with busy work and made it clear that his main priority is his students. Take his class if you are lucky enough because he is probably the best English professor on campus.
Literally the best teacher I've ever had. I remember him telling our class the last day of class that once Ted Mcloof is your professor, he's always your professor, and will always be willing to drop anything he does for you. he's "pathetically available" to his students as he puts it, but is an overall great guy. He's hilarious and chill asfff
Probably the best professor I will ever have at UA. I've never met a professor more caring of his students and their grades than Ted is. He's always available to you if you need help with anything. I have learned a lot more about english than I ever thought I would and he helped me gain my confidence back about writing. Take Ted if you can!!!
Ted is a great guy and I highly recommend him as a 102 professor! Make sure you take his feedback on assigned essays seriously. It will improve your writing tremendously which will help in all of your other classes. I would take this class again if I could! Make sure you attended all of his classes and pay attention because it pays off in the end.
Ted is a great english professor, and is very experienced in what he's doing. He WANTS you to do good, so he gives useful critical feedback. Be aware that Ted can't give help unless you go out and ask, so make use of office hours! I didn't take advantage of them, and ended up with a B, but I'm sure that if you're able to it'll be an easy A.
Who's the man? Professor Ted. Ted is a super sick teacher and grades mad fair. He also leads really fun discussions and makes you think a lot. Writing his essays is usually rather fun and easy because he gives you a lot of guidance. He's super chill.
Ted is the best professor I have had so far here at UA! He is a picky grader but his feedback is SUPER helpful. He wants all his students to succeed and is ALWAYS available if you need help. The essays & homework can be time consuming but it's so worth it because you get to see how much of a better writer you have become by the end of the semester.
I took English 102 with Ted and it was a lot of fun. If you follow all the instructions it's an easy A.
What an incredible guy honestly. I have never had an instructor so invested in his students. He made English 102 incredibly enjoyable and his feedback was always extremely helpful. He cares so much about his students and wants to help you succeed.
AMAZING professor, his grading criteria is very clear and he's always there to help!
ONE OF THE BEST INSTRUCTORS IVE EVER HAD IN THE U OF A!!! He has very clear grading criteria. You'll definitely get a good grade if you just simply follow his rubric. He loves his job and his students, and is always there to help if you have any question about essays (even essays outside this class)!!!!
I had him this semester, hands down the best teacher I have ever had. Grading is clear, he is easy to reach, and is lenient to a degree. Super invested in his students.
THE BEST PROF @ the U of A. He is so funny and such an amazing teacher. So caring for his students and wants us all to learn and succeed. All the skills he teaches will help throughout the rest of college for writing papers. He also basically writes your essays for you w/ structure guides and during conferences. Would take his class again for him
Always available for his students even if you wanted help for another class he would help. Once I emailed him at 2 in the morning and he emailed back 3 minutes later. He means it when he says hes there for his students!!!
Ted is hands down one of the best professors in the English department. He really cares for his students, and will go the extra mile if you are in need of help. TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!
Ted is hands down one of the best professors I've had at the University of Arizona. You can really tell he enjoys what he does! Each class is engaging and he makes you want to participate in each project and discussion. I definitely 10/10 recommend taking any class with him.
He really cares about his students and is the smartest professor/teacher I've ever met/had. Class is very enjoyable and easy to sit through. Very engaging and passionate with what he's teaching. Peer-reviews all essays before grading to help you get the grade!
Ted was definitely one of, if not the best professor that I've had in my experience as a student. His passion really shows and it's motivating and refreshing. The class content is very interesting and captivating. You'll learn a lot more in this class than you expected - in a good way.
Seriously one of the best professors I have had at U of A. He makes class enjoyable (which is difficult for an English class) and just has an overall good attitude. The content is pretty interesting too and not too much busy work.
Literally one of the best professors I have ever had. I hate English and writing papers but he makes everything super engaging that it makes you excited to do the assignments. Despite covid, he still made online classes super manageable . Would 100% recommend him for a professor. He is literally always there for his students!
Teds class is very engaging & oriented toward Generation Z. We discuss issues applicable to our generation & content that can be applied to our lives like social media influencers, modern politics, & rhetoric. Ted also takes the leap to give you personalized feedback on your papers in separate conferences. He is very debate focused for extra cred!
Easily one of the best professors I've ever had. He's a very smart guy and teaches content relevant to the 21st centuryunlike most English professors. More importantly, though, he helps you learn how to think critically and clearly.
He's a very gen Z type of professor. The most kindest professor and will always help you. If you don't get an A in this class then you're the problem.
Best 102 professor. Tells you exactly what you need to know and turn in. Usually 1 hw assignment a week that takes 10-30 minutes. 3 essays but gives great feedback and a line by line outline on how to get full points. Lots of extra cred ops. No way you should get anything other than an A.
Ted is the best english professor I have had at the U of A. He wastes no class time and doesn't assign busy work. He makes it very clear what he expects of his students and all work assigned is very do-able. He is always available to answer any questions and is SO helpful while doing so. He clearly cares about his students and is a great guy
The best. My expectations for his class were already pretty high after seeing his reviews, and he still managed to exceed them. His feedback is clear and detailed. Assignments are straightforward and he gives detailed structure guides for essays. He goes above and beyond to help his students both in and out of class.
McLoof was such a great professor. Two big papers that have extremely clear outlines, he even gives previous examples of the essays. One group project that was a debate, but your not graded on the actual debate, just your research before hand. He gave 3 extra-credit opportunities that totaled a 7% bump in your final grade. Very little homework.
BEST ENGLISH TEACHER EVER! Take this course! Ted is super cool and he really cares about his students. His content is so straightforward and interesting. He doesn't assign busy work and you can choose what you want to write about for the two main papers. He also offers lots of extra credit opportunities.
Prof. T is the kindest, most awesome professor you could hope for. I took his class in my Senior year, so I know what I'm talking about-- he's one of the best teachers at UofA. All of his assignments are fun and manageable + he's always available to help. It's a 'you get out what you put in' class, so make an effort. He's also just a super cool guy
Professor McLoof is great. If you miss less than 3 classes, do the hw, and try on the essays you will do great!
This class was super manageable. There were 2 big papers and regular homework. You can get a 9 percent increase in your grade by attending extra credit debates. Ted is super caring, kind, and funny. Highly recommend this class.
Very easy to do well if you just do the work and follow the grading criteria
Honestly, this was my favorite class I've ever taken. McLoof makes class super engaging. The work you do actually feels relevant, unlike other English classes. Projects seemed hard at first but through working on them they seem approachable. I loved coming into class everyday and I'm looking for other classes he teaches to take his class again!
The absolute GOAT every day in this class was never a dull one, be prepared to have a great time when you get him as your professor!!!
I had Ted for an honors seminar, and he works very well in that format. He gives a lot of good feedback and can relate very well to his students. He was very passionate about the topic of the class, book to screen adaptations, and I would absolutely take another writing course with him because of how knowledgeable he is of his craft.
Dude just take this professor, stop reading all the reviews, THIS MAN MAKES ENGLISH FUN. This is coming from someone who hates english. Ted is such a down to earth professor who truly cares about his students success. Sign up for this professor right now or you made a wrong choice.
Ted Mcloof is one of those professors you will always remember, he is so caring and genuinely cares about his job and YOU. He responds to emails quickly and doesn't sugar coat anything, he will give amazing feedback on your work and genuinely takes the time to give you helpful insight. TAKE HIS CLASS i cannot stress it enough he is THE BEST.
He is so clear about the goals of the course and makes it super easy. Class is not demanding at all and gives great feedback so all students can get an A. He truly wants you to succeed and class was very enjoyable. Definitely recommend taking his class
Professor McLoof is one of the best professors at UA. His class is super fun, and his lectures are extremely informative. He goes out of his way to support the success of his students, both in and out of the classroom. I've never had a professor who seemed so genuinely invested in his craft, and I recommend taking Ted's classes to anyone who asks.
Prof T is hands down one of the best teachers out there. His classes are engaging and manageable - just put in the work and you'll do great. Unstuck study was a huge help with study prep, alongside the free textbook. Highly recommend taking this class!
Definitely one of my favorite teachers by far! He gives a lot of good feedback and makes class fun and engaging. He also gives a lot of extra credit opportunities and assigns very little homework. He is also super kind and very helpful in and out of class! 10/10 class, I definitely recommend taking his class without a doubt!
An awesome teacher who really cares about his students. By far one of the best English teachers I've ever had. He came into class everyday with a smile and really helped you understand the content. He is a great professor and 100% recommend taking him for English.
Mr. McLoof is one of if not the best teacher I've had while here during my freshman year. He is very lenient and genuinely cares about you and your growth. He cares more about teaching you than failing you and really wants you to understand what is being taught. He is very kind, patient, and knowledgeable. He is very willing to help with anything.
He is very passionate about teaching. To ensure a good grade, make sure everything you submit is checked by him beforehand. He is very good at constructive criticism and replying to emails.
If you could take this class with any professor PLEASE TAKE IT WITH TED!!!! He gives lots of feedback in the one on one session after workshop and he's also super nice and understanding!!!!
Very easy class, very nice! If you are going to take english here, take it with him. He really cares about teaching and his students.
