Very easy going professor! Midterms and finals were based off of practice exams and tests so study those and you will be fine! TRUST ME. A VERY GOOD PROFESSOR TO CHOOSE!!!
He is an awesome professor! Very friendly and approachable. The finals are based off the practice exams, so as long as you do them you will be fine! Overall great guy!
Great prof! I only went to class about 3/10 times. He gave very easy practice questions and those questions are most likely going to be your finals too. He tells you exactly what will be on the exam & midterms. He also allowed us to bring cheat sheet to our final exam.
Great professor, his lectures are interesting and he's really nice. I only went to about 4-5 lectures and the ones I went to were fairly interesting. Not to mention this is a bird course and requires very little work, which is perfect for a liberal. I would suggest taking as many courses with him as you can.
Amazing prof! Interesting course! Easy UL! F2013 was the first time the course was offered, so it was a bit disorganized. But that only lasted a few lectures. The course doesn't require much time. The essay can be confusing but Ted is very approachable and really helpful. He also provided the class with practice exam questions (really helpful).
Great prof! Very helpful and understanding. Gave practice exam, and tells you exactly what to study for the final. I recommend taking this course with him if you want a fairly easy UL.
A very nice professor that tries to help you along the way. He will give out practice tests and most of the practice tests are the same as the real test. He actually wants his students to do well in his classes. I went to probably 4 classes in total and received a A- in his class. You have to look at his ppts to know what he wants you to know thou.
He is an amazing prof. I went to class because of my respect for him. he's very engaging and funny. he wants all of his students to succeed
Awesome prof. I went in with absolutely no Science background and got and -A so those of you who complain about this have no excuses. I went to exactly one class and it was the first class. In addition to that I went in once to write the midterm and once to write the exam/drop off the essay.
Great professor very organized and intelligent. I went to Spring class, the time was very limited but professor managed to explain all topics pointing right to the main aspects and major key points. The information I got was very rich and useful.
I too had no science background, and got an A on the midterm He really tries to help students succeed in his class. ;)
This class is really interesting, it's like conversational chemistry for non-chemistry people. If you have never taken Chemistry before you will have to put in a decent amount effort to understand the concepts. Professor Petroff is really helpful and always willing to explain topics clearly and makes sure you have the tools to succeed in his class.
AVOID!!
He's a great professor who is willing to go the extra mile to help his students. I'm a business student and never toke academic chemistry in high school, yet did very well in the course thanks to prof ted. He's very helpful when it comes to preparing for the tests and with the essay. I strongly recommend taking this class.
God bless his soul. An inspirational professor who puts his students first and care about their success. Take any class he teaches and thank me later. I had a great experience in his course so as many of my classmates. Attendance is not mandatory but highly recommended as his lectures are informative and he gives hints on what's on his tests.
Where ever you see "Ted Petroff" take that class. all I can say he is AMAZING !!!! AWESOME !!!!
Great professor. Very helpful, friendly and easy talk to. Makes lecture interesting by explaining material clearly, will answer all the questions. Choose him as your professor if you have the choice.
I LOVE TED TAKE HIM IF YOU GET THE CHANCE. HES SO FUNNY AND GREAT AND IS EASY TO TALK TO, HE MADE CHEMISTRY FUN FOR ME. LOVE LOVE LOVE
All lecture slides are posted before the term starts. Very supportive and engages effectively with students. Marking criteria is clear and well justified. I recommend this course to anyone who wants to raise their GPA. Attended every single one of his classes as he made learning fun.
I love him. What more can I say? Best prof I have had at Ryerson U. And he's cute too.
He lets you put whatever you want on your formula sheet so just make it really small and with lots of examples
Loveeee himm
Awesome professor. Very smart and inspirational; teaches you a lot. Makes the class enjoyable. Truly one of the best professors at Ryerson.
Great professor , sorry AMAZING professor such a great elective!A little intimidating because 4th year chemistry students are sitting beside me ( a geography major). But GO to CLASS and you will do fine regardless of what program you are in. Prof Petroff will stay well past the time allocated for the class to make sure you understand the concepts.
Ted is a babe! Awesome professor! Really cares about his students getting a good grade!
Amazing prof! Really cares about his students! So happy I took the course!
Great Professor! Unique approach to his lectures. Study the slides and you will be fine. Lectures are optional, but attend, as he definitely makes an effort to keep the students engaged! Midterm, final & essay are a piece of cake! Would take again
Very helpful professor, especially for assignment and lecture contents. As a accounting student, I came in with grade 11 knowledge of chemistry but ended up with A+ thanks to his clear expectation & explanation from essay and exams. My advice would be to attend every lecture, because he gives tips on what is on the exams. Thank you again Prof Ted!
Very easy class. He understands why student chose his class "GPA BOOSTER!". Classes are mandatory just because he gives hints on the final. Overall, I finished with an A+ so thank you Petroff !
Great guy! His lectures can come off as unnecessary/off-topic 'sometimes' but he tends to give out hints, so make sure you note that down. 1 midterm (15%), final (50%) & assignment (35%). He has an easy and fair marking scheme and understands the students' need to do well in a liberal course. Always there to help if you need it.
Ted is SOOOOO AWESOMEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So clutch and a great professor to have for a semester. HE NEEDS TO TEACH MORE CLASSES! If you're reading this... TAKE CHY599
Awesome guy stillllllll
For an easy lower liberal, take this course!!! It's basically a review of high school chemistry and the prof gives practice exams, which are super helpful. The prof does go off topic sometimes but its just to share news about the world. He usually points out whats important for exams so coming to class is a bonus, although it's not mandatory.
This prof genuinely wants his students to do well and succeed in the course. He is a very easy-going prof, is enthusiastic about teaching, and is a straight up a good person. He prepares you for the midterm and final with practice tests. His tests are very fair and reasonable. Overall, I would highly recommend him!
First off i never post on rate my prof but i read the reviews. This guy is the most genuine professor I have ever met. He wants you to do good, his tests are straight forward. Come to all his classes and you will do amazing. Ask for help and he will help you. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
He's a god
I've never rated a professor but I had to go out of my way and write one for this professor. He's one of the most sweetest and caring professors I've encountered at Ryerson. He's extremely helpful and his grading style is fair. Although chemistry is an area that I'm weak in, Ted helped me understand and even enjoy the content.
Very straight forward. Do as he says and do the assignments A+
Ted really wants the students to do well. He specifically tells us the exact questions that will be on the midterm and final. The lectures were boring he would talk bout random courses not related to the course material. Attendance is only mandatory in the lectures immediately preceding the midterm or final coz he tells us what to study
Ted is very knowledgeable, and may come off a bit uninterested in teaching. Sometimes it seems as if he is talking to himself, rather than explaining to a class. So it can be hard keeping up with his speedy lectures. BUT he definitely wants you to do well and will give lots of obvious hints during lecture about upcoming tests.
he is an easy going prof. explains business of chemistry well. midterm was on basic chemistry. exam was a mix of chemistry and business questions. EASY marker regarding essay paper.
This is my first time writing a review for a professor despite being in uni for 4 years bc TED IS THE BEST PROF EVER!! DO NOT HESITATE AND TAKE THIS CLASS ASAP. The man is a saint and wants everyone to do well. All you have to do is learn the science stuff from his reviews and rest of lecture is literally just for fun. I LOVED his class. 10/10 guy
I would like to take all the courses that he teaches.
Terrible. He goes through the lecture way too fast and doesnt really explain much about the concepts because he expects you to already have knowledge on it. There were no assignments, so we were only graded based on the 3 exams. He takes off marks on your exams for silly reasons like for putting extra information in your answer.
He doesnt explain well during lectures and his exams are all short answers. He speaks way too fast during lectures so its hard to keep up. He wants really specific answers from you on exams, and if he doesnt get that exact answer from you he will take off marks randomly.
Amazing prof!!! He gives sample tests which help prepare you for the exams because they are similar. He tells you what to focus on for exams and he really wants his students to do well. He is understanding, a sweet guy although he can be a little picky with the short answers on the exam but he is still great!
One of the best chem profs, he actually wants his students to do well because he genuinely cares! He explains everything you need to know and is always available if you need help. His midterms and final are straight forward and easy, so as long as you study and put the (minimal) work in theres no reason why you wont do amazing!
Great prof. Cares about his students and is hilarious. Can overlook things, but makes up for it with good explanations and relevant comparisons. Would definetly take again.
I never went to class, just the midterm and final. Literally learned everything the day before the exams. The midterm was super easy, the final was nothing like the practice final he posted, lots of long answer questions. He's an easy marker though. Ended up getting a B+
Normally, I don't write reviews but, I highly recommend taking Dr. Petroff's class. He genuinely cares for his students and is very accessible to ask for help. He makes concepts easy to understand by using examples from real-life situations. Overall, he is really great professor
Honestly the easiest class I've taken in my life and best upper liberal. Don't worry about studying or reading. Just attend class and write down his hints for the midterm/final. Essay is marked easy. I wish he had another UL I could take with him.
Solid prof and an easy course. Highly recommend!
Ted Petroff is a very respected and caring prof. He prepares you for the midterm and final (essentially tells you exactly what is on it). Before the midterm and final make sure you go to his exam reviews, they are really helpful. Would suggest this course more for chemistry students than business as there is more science covered. Paper marked easy.
Really good professor. Had him as a replacement due to unfortunate events with primary prof-, but extremely glad it worked out this way! Easy marker, straight forward, def recommend his classes for an easy mark in core classes and electives!
He took over the course part-way through, and was excellent. He teaches clearly, and while it's funny to watch him switch between slides and whiteboard every ten seconds, the lectures are pretty great. He wants you to pass. He wants you to do well. If you study the practice material, you'll do great on the actual tests.
The best prof at Ryerson. Show up for the reviews before the midterm and final exam and you will ace this course. The midterm was mainly science concepts and the final consisted of business and science concepts. The paper was marked easy too.
LITERALLY THE BEST CHEM PROF EVER. He explains all the concepts so well and shows multiple examples in class. He gives practice questions that are literally the same as his midterms. Hes very caring and wants his students to succeed. Marks super easy too! he doesnt even mind handing in an assignment late and hes super understanding! Best prof!!
From my experience, he is probably one of the most down to earth and intelligent prof I've ever had. Not only does he teach well, he also wears his heart on his sleeve. He makes sure to teach each lesson in-depth. He is always ready to answer questions, he is very flexible, you can contact him through email, in class, etc. Overall, he is great!
The best professor at Ryerson! He is very knowledgeable but uses a language that everyone can understand when explaining concepts. His slides and midterm/exam reviews are more than enough to succeed in this class. He is always smiling and making sure that everyone is okay. If you can, take any of his classes!
Dr. Ted is a very funny prof. His class is video-based, and those videos only give you the hints for your individual assignment. This course is not hard because Dr. Ted will give you sample questions before the test/exam. The real test will be very similar. If you have any questions, feel free to ask Dr. Ted, he will give you the best answer.
Professor Ted is an amazing human being. He knows the material very well and is always willing to help. I cannot recommend him enough. If you can take ANY of his classes, do it!!
Absolute beauty in the lectures and and an amazing person to talk to.
The best professor at Ryerson ever!!! Recommend taking any course with Ted! Such a gem!!!
Very funny, made 8 ams bearable. The midterm and exam were based on homework and problems done in class. Easy A if you do the assigned work
you won't meet a nicer prof than Ted. Take any class he teaches!
If you do your work and come to classes, it's an easy A even if you are not from the science program. One midterm, one essay, and a final. The professor is extremely fair, cares about the students, and knowledgeable about the material.
very nice guy, super chill, positive, enthusiastic, and accomodating to his students. The course was interesting to me even though I didn't take any science course since hs. If you want a relaxing atmosphere and also to learn, choose Ted.
It should be illegal that this course was offered to science majors. This course was disturbingly easy, almost made me uncomfortable writing the exams and essays. However, Dr. Petroff is quite inaccessible outside of class and didn't return a single graded exam or assignment. You just had to wait to see your final grade with absolutely no feedback.
A wonderful professor, but an even more wonderful person. During the pandemic, Professor Petrof always asked first how his students were doing. Assignment outlines and test outlines were made very clear if you showed up to class, and this class was delivered through Live lectures which made me feel like I was actually in class. The best Professor!
the best prof ever! I wish he taught more courses. so caring
Dr. Petroff is both a great professor and a great individual who truly cares about his students well being. Exams are not difficult but take care of writing a good essay and Dr. Petroff will take care of giving you a good grade! Highly recommend this class.
He was amazing!! Best class I have taken in my entire undergraduate career! Definitely recommend this class.
Professor Petroff is an easy marker and caring, one midterm 15%, one paper50% and one final 35%. Midterm is about science, and final has three short case question related to business he covered during class. Science part is heavily focused in this course, but all of them are high school stuffs. Take the course and he will guarantee you to pass
such a sweetheart! and the paper, midterm and exam was so easy! I hadn't taken science since high school, barely came to class and still was able to keep up and understand the content. He's also willing to help you review and guide you along your paper. I would take any elective with this prof again. genuinely passionate and wants you to learn!
Passionate guy. Very understanding and teaches well. Gives practise before exams and does not try to fail students. He's also accessible outside lecture if u have any concerns. Highly recommend
He is very chill and respectfull, lectures end early most of the time
I would kiss this man on this lips if this was in-person.
Amazing professor, this is the second time I took this course and my professor last semester was a nightmare, while this professor ensured that everyone would succeed in his class. Definitely recommend Dr. Petroff to anyone taking CHY 102! Don't bother with any of the other professors at Ryerson for CHY 102.
He is The best. If you want to get a good grade you should take your chemistry course with him.
Lectures are amazing, he teaches very well.
Very knowledgeable about the topics that are taught. Ted is a great professor his lectures are great and enjoyable. The essay can be a bit confusing but just talk to him and he'll clear up any issues. Overall the class is super chill and pretty relaxed.
Shocked at these ratings. He is a nice guy but is not organized at all. He spent an entire 2 weeks going through 2 chapters only for us to end up behind schedule and spend 2 days going through 4 entire chapters!!!! He now expects us to be able to hand in 4 assignments and write the midterm all within the next week or so.
Due to circumstances class was canceled often which is understandable. What isn't understandable is rushing concepts, not going through the slides effectively, and not giving students the chance to recover their grades. Essay worth 50% and exam also worth 50%. No feedback and once asked, professor said "pay attention ik you copied" false accusation
Ted is just awesome. Can't say enough good things about him. Take any class you can with him.
Ted Petroff is one of the best/most chill professors ever at TMU. He is very smart and very relaxed when it comes to due dates and extensions. He ultimately wants as many people as possible to do well, his lectures are entertaining, and i would recommend this course to anyone who wants a chill/interesting elective to boost their grades.
Best prof ever
Seems like a good guy and marks easy but often strayed away from lecture slides and talked about random things. I felt like I didn't learn anything through the course which is a shame because the course outline made it sound interesting. Also is quite lax about the format of the paper but I wish he gave more guidelines and instruction.
He does not only reply to his students in a rude manner, but when you get your marks for your term paper back, he provides very little to no feedback not allowing you to question his choice for marking. He is probably one of the laziest profs I've had (which could be very good or very bad). Easy to get good grades but very bad communication.
Great, easy going prof
A passionate and very easy guy. All of his test was based on lecture and in-class example. He even extends the due date for midterm and final multiple times, and accepts late submission for assignment. Easy A+
He lets you know EXACTLY what is one the midterm and final, if you don't do well, it's because you weren't listening. Gives fair grades. There are only 3 things that make up the final mark (midterm, paper, final). You don't have to come to class, but listen to his lectures on your own time if you want to do well! Textbook is not necessary.
If you're desperate for an A+ take him since he is a very easy and chill prof. If you actually want to learn and get your money's worth, I don't recommend him or this course. I learned nothing and he barely teaches. A+ guaranteed for everyone though if you do the bare minimum.
Really easy course and made the grading criteria very easy and beneficial for the students.Assignments were graded for submission and not for correctness.
Best course at TMU. Wish some of the other professors would follow his lead
The professor missed half the lectures and didn't take anything seriously. The exams were in-person and super tough. Don't take the course with him, especially during the summer, if you're looking for good grades.
I never take this prof again. Crazy marker. I wish I could drop the course but too late.
such an amazing prof, I wish there was more teachers like him a TMU
Really nice and amazing professor. 15% midterm, everyone got 100%. 50% term paper - start early do not wait. 35% final. The term paper was the most confusing and hard, but its very simple if you plan ahead. amazing funny class.
marks nice on assignments, goated overall
Easy upper liberal and easy marker. Take him if you can.
Enjoyed the course. Pick a topic for the essay early.
This professor makes you believe you will do well by giving everyone a perfect on the midterm which is only 15%.Then marks the paper and final harshly for students. His final was 3 questions based on a very shallow discussion but when answered the questions based on what he said in class he still marks hard and provides no feedback.
10/10 recommend this course. He is such an easy marker, if you honestly get a bad grade you must be doing something wrong... This course was graded on 3 things. It was such a laid-back course. The essay which is 50% i do recommend you choose a topic and ask him in advance about it. But other than that he is GOATED. Love this man. God bless him frfr
Dr. Petroff is a nice guy. His class was a breeze and he's very considerate in assignments (extending due dates, posting practice tests, and providing nice marks on the useless term paper). The only thing I could ask for in the course is more structure as at times I felt lost on what we were doing
literally the BEST. He just wants one thing: to make everyone pass the course. I just have no words to say just take his course you will get the credit. HOWEVER if you actually wanna learn sth im not sure if hes the one. beaware chemistry majors. i had him for chem 1n 2 and without the base i totally screwed with orgchem.
The course was really easy even though I had no science background. Would highly recommend to try out! He is really nice and marks leniently.
He is very understanding and chill. You learn a lot of things in his class! He is one of the bests.
Take. This. Course. Best prof at TMU hands down, really understand students and is kind and caring. Don't feel intimidated if you're not a science student at all, teaches at a beginner level and you will be prepared for the take home midterm. If you need to boost your GPA take this course!
Great Prof. Mark booster course, and a great opportunity to learn some interesting new concepts.
Simply goated! Easiest course I've ever taken at TMU
This is the first time I have ever given a review on here. That's how great he is. And this course. Anyone who doesn't take this course as an upper level liberal is seriously missing out. Put the effort in and you'll get an A+; I as well as my friends who took the course can vouch for this.
This professor makes the course interesting while ensuring you are well-prepared for the midterm and final. The paper required for the course is similar to essays needed for other courses; however, there was almost no rubric. If you have any questions, he can answer them.
Free credit but definitely not an easy A.
class is an easy A minimum. The final and midterm are geniunely free 100s, but the essay is what is worth the most and he kinda marks hard on it so dont leave it for last minute. regardless, you dont need to attend a single lecture to do well nor do you need any knowledge of chemistry either. hes a really nice guy.
Easiest class I have ever taken. Interesting class too. I didn't do as amazing on the essay though, essay was marked hard. Make sure you have a one on one convo about your essay before the deadline and ask him for actual feedback on your ideas and how to structure it. Midterm and final are easy. Start your essay in advance.
He uploads recorded lectures on D2L for everyone to watch, which is great for students who missed the lectures. He takes time to explain chemistry concepts and won't move ahead until all students fully comprehend the concepts. Take his advice when writing your term paper early. He's flexible with the format of the term paper.
My classmates repeatedly communicated with him about the submission date of the paper, and he repeatedly delayed it. We can stagger the exam time of other classes to complete the paper better. He really gives points very friendly, the question is very easy, love him!
Ted is genuinely the best prof I have had all my years in uni. He is so laid-back, answers emails and the work is free 100% for trying (even with the wrong answers). No chem/bio backgrounds are needed either. He is so kind, marks super easily on the essay and rlly funny. He is a little more old-school but 10/10 RECOMMEND!! Amazing, amazing prof.
He's literally the bets prof at TMU! TAKE HIM FOR ANYTHING! He just wants to see his students succeed.
I got 100%, this prof and course are good. Tips for the essay: start early in the sem, get advice on your topic, make sure half the word count is dedicated to business and half to science, include stats like financial figures & market research for the business case (TMU library gives everyone online access to business & marketing databases).
Ted is the best professor. Really cares for his students, gives them many opportunities to get the best grade. It is only graded with both an easy mid and final, and a big term paper. Pay attention to his guidelines and properly attend the paper, you should at least get an (A-). Don't need to attend lectures or buy the book. GPA booster for sure.
Absolutely Amazing and cool prof
No need to attend any classes tbh. Midterm and final can both get you an easy 100%, even if they're wrong (i think as long as you submit he'll give it to you). Essay was also not too bad, he is generally a VERY easy marker. You may be very confused at the start of the course (as I was), but STAY IN THE CLASS, birdest course ever - min effort req.
Amazing prof!! Don't be discouraged when you see chemistry and Lewis diagrams on the first week of class, the course is actually easy and Ted is very helpful in making you be successful. Would for sure take this course again!!
I was hesitant to take this course with little chemistry knowledge, but prof understands that a liberal is to boost your GPA, not drop it. He grades easy on the midterm and final. The essay requires significant research, so start early, but by showing effort in your work (meeting the word count & a lot of research), you can easily score above 85%.
Easy course, but you'll learn nothing. He doesn't give feedback on anything which is incredibly frustrating.
Graded by one term paper worth 55%, a midterm and a final, which were both very easy. He offers to give feedback on the paper, so make sure to ask him about your topic before u start writing, and on ur paper after u're done. Make sure to include sales figures (numbers!!). He grades very leniently but you learn almost nothing in this class.
Ted is a great prof - super laid-back and friendly. The class is an easy A, with free 100s on the midterm and final. The essay is the tricky part, so be sure to start early and get feedback from the prof. unstuckstudy was a lifesaver for prepping! Highly recommend this class.
Although I was worried at first as I wasn't sure what to expect from the exams, it turned out to be very clear and easy. Professor Petroff posts online lectures that help to review for the final.
TAKE HIM!! This is a bird course. I didn't attend a single lecture. The midterm and exam are EASYYY. Watch one of the lecture videos for the exam. The essay was easy just have good research done. LOVE HIM
One of the best teachers I ever have. My dump head mistook the final deadline for 1 day but when I emailed him to ask for it, he still accepted my assignments and guess what? No mark deductions lol. The midterm and final are all take-home to do and he grades fairly, more like on the easier side. Definitely would take him again.
I used to pray for classes like this
I LOVE ted!!! He's such a sweet & chill guy, plays the best music each start of the lecture, and an easy grader. Make sure to get things done by deadline, and if you simply meet the assignment requirements then you're good to go.
Take him! Easy class and interesting information!
Such a great and fun professor. His class was so much fun, and he is very understanding and supportive of students. Highly recommend taking a class with him.
Ted is one of the best prof at the TMU. Leaving a good impression for students unlike some profs who would make you hate the education. I wish you all the best for making so many students happy and giving us hope to continue
This is the BEST prof in TMU at this moment and you can never go wrong taking CCHY 599 with Ted Petroff. All his evaluations are take home and he gives more than enough time to finish them. Make sure to pay the MOST ATTENTION to the ESSAY and you'll easily get an A or A+ Evaluations: • Midterm - 10% • Essay - 55% • Final Exam - 35%
Super interesting lectures and very funny prof. Tests and essays are an easy A+. Just run your essay idea by him and start early on.
The best prof at TMU by far. He just wants his students to do well and actually cares about them. The assignments can be time consuming but if you just follow what he asks they are VERY simple to do. He's so funny and chill and his lectures were great. Love this guy.
Really amazing professor and person. Cares about his students and wants them to do well in the. course. Take this course if you can!! 1000/10
This course is by far the best i've taken as an undergrad. Ted is the most caring prof i've ever met and is understanding of what us students have to go through with our core courses. The paper is 55% worth of your grade and requires time to write but you will get a good mark if you put in the effort. Recommend this course to anyone.
Super nice prof and marks fairly easy on the essay.
Professor Petroff was always available to answer questions by email or phone. You could tell that he is passionate about this course and wants you to understand the content. He set up the course in a simple way with 3 evaluations and tells you exactly what he expects in order for you to succeed.
Took this course in the summer—sounded intimidating, but it's not! The prof is super kind, easygoing, and always available. No chem or bio background needed (I got a 4.33!). You don't need the textbook. Classes are more like drop-in check-ins. Highly recommend He's super helpful and genuinely wants to see students succeed.
The professor had clear expectations and even provided feedback on the term paper before it was due. There is no textbook so it is necessary to watch the lectures live or recordings to u deft and content for exam/midterm
The midterm was in-person, he even wanted the final to be in-person. Lecs were recordings from the other section. Lecs are just yap and YouTube vids, no actual learning. Midterm was different from the mock midterm given during lec. Had high hopes due to his respected rep, but I didn't see the positives people praise him for. Not bird course no more
Jumps around during lectures. Slides are irrelevant. Gives no feedback. He thinks he's so cool with his stupid music selection before every lecture... bro why are you wasting our time??? Also super sketchy agreeing to meet students at the back of the coffee shop and offering to give students his personal cell phone number. Useless course.
This is the best prof at TMU. You can very easily not go to class and get an A as he posts all the lectures. Theres 2 papers which he marks very easily and midterm & final but they are not hard at all. Do not need chem / bio background for this, its such an easy course.
Ted Petroff is genuinely one of the best souls I've met in my 3 years of university. My cousin passed away and I told him almost 20 days after term papers were due, yet he still let me submit with no penalties. I struggled on the in-person midterm, but the online final was fair and he gave me a 100. Truly an amazing professor.
Do your due diligence and you will get an easy A+ kind of course. The best of the best courses, for sure. If you are looking to boost GPA with this professor, look no further.
Wonderful professor! The midterm was high school-level chemistry in person, which appeared as a surprise to many people due to its difficulty. Notwithstanding the midterm, the rest of the course was smooth sailing. The course paper was split into two portions, and the final was a take-home. The only caveat, the professor is too nonchalant.
