Great teacher. Hw is checked by quizzes only (don't hand anything in). Tests are okay, and you get a notecard to help. Really helps you understand everything. His sense of humor is hilarious and keeps the class in stitches all the time. Cute too ;)

In all, I've taken Trig, PreCal, and Calc 1 from him, if that tells you anything about how awesome he is. I think he's the best teacher at ARC - makes math fun and interesting, tests are fair, the final is reasonably difficult, but an A is very possible.

he teaches better than most math teachers but his tests are REALLY HARD!! make sure you know your stuff. quizzes are random but expected--they are directly from homework and you just have to copy it from yours, so do the homework

Fun w/o being too lame. Rhetorical lectures, but still very interactive. I liked that he could actually stop and think about tough questions that were asked instead of blowing them off. Hard tests, but pretty generous with the partial credit. Would take again w/o question.

Good teacher. Test are hard and he will very easily take off partial credit for missing small parts of a question on tests. There is always homework, but only about 30 minute a night.

Constantly making math jokes.About one joke per class gets a laugh, but sweet all the same.If the student cares about the grade,he will do everything to help.Never made a student feel inferior when a question was asked.Never liked math before,but now find I'm actually passionate about the subject.

Mr. Ridge is very nice, he is very clear at explaining things and will have no problem excusing you if you have an appointment. As long as you do the homework and understand the concepts, you will do well.

That I was able to get through algebra and statistics is entirely due to Mr. Ridgway. He taught (re-taught) me the basic math skills that all other math classes are built on. He's funny, thoughtful, and very skilled at making math understandable and, well, actually fun.

He is good. If you dont come to class alot and you miss quizzes. Youll end up with a B as long as you do well on the tests. Tests questions come from the homework and lecture problems in class.

Mr.Ridgeway is the Bomb. I was and am still amazed at how he can field the stupidest question and not even blink and eye in disbelief. He never makes anyone feel bad. He takes the time to explain everything in depth so that all understand. His jokes are out of this world. very funny. Wish I could take him for all my math classes. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Really good teacher! He explains every topic clearly and is always willing to provide extra explaining to those who need it. After introducing new material he always ask "how we doing?" if you dont get it just speak up and he'll explain.

Mr. Ridgway is perhaps the best teachers I have ever had. Not just in math but, that too actually. Every minute of class seems planned out before hand so no class time is wasted. Helpful and convenient office times. I can't say enough about how fantastic he is.

Awesome teacher. Tests actually tested what he taught in class. Homework only worth a small percent and you get the 5 pts/assignment for effort not correctness. There are pop quizzes which suck if you don't show up for class. He also takes attendance but pverall, loved the teacher and the class. Got an easy A.

I had Mr. Ridgway for Trig & Calc I in the same semster. He's a professor who knows what he's talking about and he has a way of explaining it w/out being pretentious. He's able to explain math in a normal way, not like a math teacher. He also likes to wear plaid shirts which, for some reason, work for him. Overall, the best Math professor I've had!

he is very clear and explains everything from different learning views. if you are going to miss a quiz, call him and he'll make arrangements to make it up. he is flexible as long as you let him know whats up. final is off of prior quizzes abd tests. he is very interested in what he teaches and it shines

He adds humor to his classes, but you remember what he teaches, unless of course you're not paying attention. Just take notes and keep up with the homework, and you'll do just fine in his class.

Ridgeway is extremely helpful and dumbs down the concept of Calculus for you. One essential thing that he stresses so much on is basic Algebra. MAKE SURE YOUR ALGEBRAIC SKILLS ARE TOP NOTCH!! Otherwise you're screwed. He's fun and humorous. Missing Class = Foolishness + Regret. Quizzes are easy but tests are crazy hard. STUDY YOUR ASS OFF!!!

This is the best math teacher ive had in my college experience. i have taken his classes twice the first one was a review course for me but the second i had taken previously and not passed with his help and clarity i passed with a high A. i recommend taking his course if you can!!

Amazing teacher. Always prepared with great explanations. But do have to warn. There are only 4 tests, worth 45% of grade, final 25% of grade, quizzes 15% and HW 15%. nothing is dropped, and no note cards. But the tests for the most part is what you studied, picky about notation. Not very interactive class, but VERY INFORMATIVE,AMAZING AT EXPLAING

Mr. Ridgway, was the best math teacher I have every had. He made it so that I could actually understand the basic concepts of Algebra I've been missing since high school! I loved having the homework on mymathlab.com it really re-enforced the concepts. The book is not required, he lectures from his own notes and gives lots of practice time, HELPFUL!

Definitely would take him again and sad that I can't for my next math course. He also helped me become a beacon tutor next semester, so he is super helpful!

I'm so thankful I got Mr Ridgway to be my instructor for Math 100. He's very nice and approachable. His class is super easy that all you have to do is do all the HWs online and you'll get everything right away. Just make sure you review your notes daily because he always gives pop quizzes. I like how he shows our grades everyday.

Math has always been difficult for me. Mr. Ridgway was always patient, had plenty of office hours to re-explain thing and go a bit slower for me to catch up with the rest of the class. The math is challenging for those not comfortable with algebra but he makes it doable. I wish I could have him teach the last two math classes i have to take.

Excellent professor. He explains math in a real world, easy to follow way while adding a touch of humor. Defintely the most interesting math professor. We need more like him. Took his statisics course too, and will happily take more when the time comes. I highly recommend, especially if you have previously struggled understanding math.

His Quiz/Tests are EXACTLY like the online homework he assigns. He is very nice and wants you to learn, and his lectures cover the material in the book so well that you don't even need the book. If you do ALL (emphasis on this word) of the homework, you will get an A in this class. Fantastic teacher, easily one of the best math teachers in ARC.

Very clear. Assigns HW from a free online book. easy to ask questions. responds to emails fast, unless weekend. go to his office hour and don't be afraid to ask questions. His tests are not hard if you do your memorizing of all ID's and special angles. seriously, memorize your special angles. He brings them along all semester. No extra cred.

Prof. Ridgway is very clear in his expectations of the class. There is homework and tests that make up your grade. He gives partial credit for work shown even if the answer is wrong so show your work. Study hard, pay attention & form study groups. Prof. Ridgway is there for the students so use his office hours. I've had some pretty terrible Profs before, up until I started looking them up on RMP. And they all shared the same characteristics: they weren't motivated to see students succeed and weren't enthusiastic at all. But with Mr. Ridgway it's the exact opposite. He is super animated with his lectures and, in my opinion, wants to see his students excel.

Professor Ridgway is great. I hate math and he turned out to be one of my favorite teachers. He keeps things interesting in his lectures and is very thorough. He does go over a vast amount of information fast though. Unfortunately I wasn't fast enough at math to keep up with the class but I still think he is a great teacher.

If you have a hard time with math then this is your Professor! He genuinely wants you to learn and even re-learn math if it's been a while. He's passionate about math and it shows. Have questions? The book itself is optional it's for extra credit he gives at the end, the code that's inside the book is a necessity is cheaper just to buy the book all together so you can get the extra credit. Super laid-back, let you go at your own pace, is readily available to help you and if you're struggling he talk to you one-one in class.

He was a good teacher because going to class each day he cared for all his students to succeed. The lectures were nice and organized because it was very helpful for all of us to learn. When there was quizzes and tests to pass them is that you study enough on your homework. Everything was clear and organized for the grading system. Great professor.

A solid professor. I had the choice to go with an easier professor but chose Mr. Ridgway because I actually wanted to learn Calculus. I think he did a really good job of preparing me for Calc2.

By far the best Mathematics professor I've ever had. He is the reason that I was able to conquer my fears of Math as a subject. He has such a unique way of explaining rudimental concepts of math and Trig that you can grasp. Great professor! His classes are about 2 hrs long but he had great lectures. He provides a practice homework that is optional for each assignment to prepare you for the real one. He also provides a study guide before each test and only had 2 pop quizzes that were very short. Overall, the course is an easy A if you show up to class and take notes.

Prof Ridgway was honestly one of the best math teachers I have ever taken. The final exam was cumulative and there are quizzes at least once a week. You do have to pay $80 for access to Pearson in order to do homework. For every exam, there's always a take home part of it (all done on Stat Crunch). He was very nice and chill. Definitely recommend.

He makes sure to set up topics which makes it easier to understand the why and how, especially if you may struggle with math. He's also lighthearted and funny throughout the lectures, which are the main source of info. Homework was manageable and pretty easy.
