Great class! It is so much fun!
He filled in to teach my Anat/Phys lab and we definitely looked forward to those days....he explained stuff soooooo well! He's a fun guy too!
great guy, his class is confusing at time but if you just read the book and come to class once in a while you will get a b or c for sure
he is a nice guy. it is a hard class though, and sometimes he moves a little to fast, and doesn't explain hard things as much as he should.
Awesome teacher if you read and come to class you will do fine!
Class is really hard you need to study alot for it, it takes alot of work, but he;s a really nice guy and does his best to make u do good in his class. He cares about his students. good teacher
His class IS hard, but he trys his best to make it fun and interesting.
I had him for my biology lab; he seems like a nice guy and he's pretty helpful but he's kind of devoid of personality. I'm not a science person so I wont be taking any more classes in his area anyway...
Great teacher, works hard to make sure we understand everything and never gives up. He is very good at letting you know the main points he covers and good reviews for tests.
Great...devoted to his work
He has interesting things to say but, it ends up being more confusing than helpful. He bounces from one place to another and it's hard to keep up with him. It actually hinders the situation because you only have a certain amount of time in lab.
Wilson is great, he always helps when you need him. Whoever wrote that he has no personality is an idiot. He is full of it and is a great teacher with lots of devotion. One of my favs Mrs. White Stripe
He's an amazing proffesor. He's funny and easy to talk to about your problems in his class. If only he taught A and P II, then I may of actually learned something.
Great at explaining, answering questions, and even makes lab fun. If you have a choice, opt for Dr. Wilson - he's awesome!
i hated this class. never knew what to study. never knew what to study. i felt like i was behind after the second day.
Pretty cool guy....something about getting attacked by wolves...always pointed with the missing finger!!! Overall Liked him!!
Fun guy, tries to make class interesting. Not a cell biologist - wants to be liked more than wants studentes to learn cell biology.
Doesn't seem to know the answer when you ask him questions...he avoids giving you a straight answer. He's a fair grader but the amount of work you do for this ONE credit class is INSANE. Overall, he's a little unclear with the subject.
He is the best prof i have ever had, he tries to make class fun and really cares about his students and has pretty good music taist
He doesn't think you have a life outside of cell biology. In only two weeks, you can have a lab final, a lab presentation, a class presentation, a term paper deadline, an exam, and a quiz. At first, it was very clear what would be on the test; now it's hard to know what to study. Nice guy though.
hear hear
doesnt always know what all is goin on but he is a pretty cool professor, very nice guy
He has soo many hilarious stories to tell!! Very interested in what he is teaching and presenting it in a way that is understandable to everyone. Very very helpful if asked. Sometimes goes off on a tangent, but it makes the class all the more fun!
He favors students, messed up lab procedures and he is helpful only when he feels good. I thini he is a nice person, but No more class with Dr. Wilson.
avoid this one!
He's a pretty nice guy. He is more than willing to help you most days. Don't worry about the term paper; it isn't hard as long as you don't leave it to the last minute. His lectures are very confusing, will have to teach yourself most of the time.
Avoid this professor
Friendly, but tries to get by on his "charm" instead of putting his time into preparing for class. Doesn't know his anatomy as well as the professor in 211 (Lowen), and his tests are full of mistakes. If you need to learn anatomy, take another professor. If you want to be entertained, take him.
Totally a jerk. Gives wrong information, then expects you to figure it out. Plays favorites big-time - puts down students he doesn't like.
Hard to follow. Makes lots of mistakes. Your better just reading the book and skipping lecture. Nice guy though
Just doesn't know the material he is trying to teach. He is rude & condescending to students. He has favorite students & makes it very obvious who they are. Take this class from another prof if you really want to learn something. TERRIBLE!
TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ditto. Girls get big favors and easy grading. Guys get the shaft. Wait until next year - Dr. Ragdale should be taeching this class again.
Not helpful at all. Wrong lot's of times. Does not know the material.
Really poor teacher - doesn't know the material at all and couldn't explain his way out of a paper bag. Rude when students' question him on his mistakes. Exams miss almost al the important stuff. Wait and take this course from Berg.
He did not even understand the material he was trying to teach. Plays favorites big time. Insults the other biology profs to students. Very unprofessional.
AWESOME GUY! He really goes out of his way to help ANYONE and EVERYONE in the class. He tries to make the class as clear as he can and he goes out of his way to get to actually know his students. It's obvious that he's passionate about his job and I would recommend him to anyone with an open-mind
He has a great personality & attitude that he brings to class every day. Maybe he does play favorites, but it's easy to get there: study, ask questions, be interested! Anyone can be a "favorite." He knows his stuff, and he doesn't think he knows everything like other professors. Highly recommended!
If you show intrest he is always ready to help you. He has 1-2 points extra credits in his exams which also helps. He has pre assignment lectures which are worth 40-50 points. So, do it and earn the grade. Refer to his power points when you study the book because questions are always from his power
Ted is a great teacher but you have to work very hard to get a good grade in his class. Don't be afraid to ask for help, he'll always make time for you.
Great A&P experiences with him-Fun stories-humor-& great personality! Helped me out tons and was always willing to help-just ask! Some thought he was disorganized-to me his disorganization is minor since he is >than willing to help instead of ignoring & making you struggle with the class. Awes class experience would take another course w/him again!
Requires you to do a lot of your own research and such. Left a lot of room for individuality in the work we were required to do. We went to India to experience high altitude physiology changes first hand. His wife is a sweetheart (she went with us).
he is a great lab instructor but horrible lecturer. ps, he is missing a couple fingers
worst teacher i ever had
He is a very interesting and helfull person. He is good at explaining things on a one on one situation, but he can be a bit scatter brain in class.
Professor has a great sense of humor and is really interested in helping his students and helping them get a grade they are satisfied with.
He absolutly LOVES what he does, you can tell. Some profs are dry and don't care, but Wilson is highly energetic and makes class soooo interesting and enjoyable to learn from. Yeah, the class takes away a lot of free time, but I say it's worth it cuz you learn a TON of really cool stuff.
This is a hard class, just because of the material, not so much because of the teacher. He does seem like he's rushing through the notes, but he's very enthusiastic. You HAVE to put in work in this class - be prepared. But if you do you will get a decent grade.
Its a tough class, but he is a good professor
Kill me. This guy went SOOO fast. I understand its a lot of material but he was kind of a jerk about it. He's very unapproachable and can ridicule you in the middle of class if you ask a "dumb" question. He makes me want to change my major. His examples in class can be entertaining though. Otherwise, he's a jerk
He is a great teacher. The subject is difficult, but he does a good job of explaining the material. The notes are off powerpoint so it is easy to follow along. He doesn't put things on the test that were not covered in lecture.
This guy is a great teacher. He really knows what hes talking about and uses quite some unique examples. (Just ask him how he lost his fingers) The class is hard but if you want a good grade and put in the time for the class/lab and A is guaranteed. I passed with a 95, so it can be done!
Prof Wilson is seriously the best prof you will ever have for anatomy!! He explains things well; he might go a little fast on some days, but he will go back if you need. Take Prof wilson over all of the other anat profs!!

Great guy, friendly and really smart. Enjoyed his class alot. He tries to help students with extra credits. take him if you can, seriosly.
Wilson is a very smart guy and makes sure everyone understands the material. He seems very well prepared for class and knows what he's talking about. Take him if you need A&P
I thought he was a great teacher!! He was always willing to help if you needed it..all you have to do is ask!! Some people thought he was hard, but I thought he was easy! I passes with an A. Take him for Anat, he is the best!!!!
He is the best anatomy teacher I guess but still not that great!! He goes really fast and it's hard to keep up! Makes me hate the class
Goes fast in class, but very helpful outside of class. Very fair with grades. Hard class, but he makes it fun and interesting. Awesome professor!
Tries to be your friend rather than be clear. Tests = highly disorganized, include things he got wrong in lecture but expects students to get right. Take someone else.
He is a great guy in and out of class. He is extrememly willing to help. He is the best lab teacher you can choose. His lectures are fast-paced, however, he uses many examples and tries to make the class as enjoyable as possible. He is an awesome teacher for such a hard course, he makes learning fun!
His class is tough and a lot of material, but he tries to make it interesting and I learned from it unlike some classes. He's also very willing to help when needed.
Great Professor...knows what he's talking about but you have to work your butt off in order to get a good grade. He makes the class very interesting and keeps you interested. I loved him.
he is extremely helpful, but it is a tough class. theres no need to take it if it is not required for you major. if your interested in anatomy, just take a basic anatomy course!
He knows his stuff...It's a hard class no matter what! A little scatter brained during lecture. It's a doable class but dont take it if you dont have to!
Very tough class but if you study you can manage. Start studying for lectures a couple days before because it is alot of material to try to cover in just one night. Go to open labs! I know it sucks... but it helps so much! I liked him, he is the smartest professor I have had so far.. but don't take the class if you don't have to.
I have said it 1000 times- the class is tough but the amount of effort you put into it is what is going to make or break you. He is extremely helpful.loves students to drop by &ask questions. get to know him- it helps. he is very passionate about a&p so if you show interest he appreciates it. ask the lab supervisors to help too- they took the class
I don't like him. Avoid taking him. He has mood swings and has temper problems. Trust me! He is one to avoid. From some of his behavior he should be fired. Don't give him any respect.
Makes class interesting
this was the most time consuming class EVER. Wilson throws so much information at you at once and the lecture tests are really hard...he tries to trick you and he admits it. If you focus really hard and put a lot of effort into the class, it's do-able. STUDY STUDY STUDY. memorization skills needed for lab tests which save your grade if you try
he relates his teachings to you
ok...Anatomy and Physiology is obviously going to be hard and of course there is going to be studying involved. Hes not joking that you have to study 2-3 hrs. for every hour of lecture but he is SO WORTH IT. HE RELATES THE SUBJECT TO US SO HE EXPLAINS THINGS REALLY WELL AND HES SOO PASSIONATE ABOUT THE SUBJECT. ITS ALOT OF WORK BUT ITS WORTH IT!!!
Yes the class is a challenge, but don' t blame the prof! there is a certain amount of info you are supposed to know and he does his best getting you through it. If you are taking this class, it is probably required and you are going to have to learn the material one way or another.... he could have more office hours or be more available
Dr. Wilson is a great teacher. The University regulates course requirements NOT him. The first time I took this class I failed, I took it again and I have an A. It is a hard class to take as a freshman just learning how to do well in college. Do not waste your time and lose your 4 year guarantee, study 10x more than you think you should!
this is a very challenging class! There is a lot of studying involved! He is a good teacher though.. he tries to relate to us, and keep us interested in lecture. Be ready to study!
Dr. Wilson is the best Bio. teacher I ever had! But you have to study! He uses slide shows for his lectures and that is what the tests are based on. YOU NEED TO READ THE BOOK AND TAKE NOTES DURING CLASS. I suggest that you should be there every lecture. He is willing to help you, and WANTS you to pass. He can only do so much for you though.
Really good teacher, knows what he is teaching. Fly's through stuff in lecture so be a good note taker - reading the book and taking notes is a must but a lot of things from the book and be skipped if you just fallow along with the notes.
Obviously, A&P is gonna be a hard class and you have to study a lot no matter what. Wilson is definitely the best a&p professor. i rarely went to class but still studied a ton and got a B in the class so its not to hard to get a good grade if you work for it.
I though ap would be so hard. but wilson made it fun and interesting. He's tough and you really need to review his lecture notes more than the book b/c that's what he tests off of! also, study the back of the book questions. I enjoy his style of teaching too!
Don't take this class. Professor prefers some students & ignores others. Lectures not clear.
Very unclear in his lectures. He moves really fast. Study a lot!!
It's a hard class, but Wilson is excited to teach and he knows what he's talking about. He also tries to learn everyone's name, which is pretty impressive since he has a lot of students. His notes and lectures are good, and he's great to have in lab.
Take this class in the summer..horrible teaching.. all he talks about is death
Hard class. I do not like Wilson personally, but I must admit, he is a good teacher...or tries to be. Has a temper sometimes and moves through material way too fast sometimes.
Great teacher. Tests are from his notes so need to memorized them. Very willing to give extra help. I learn a lot!
STUDY...enough said
A & P is a very hard course. You just have to get used to his teaching style and study ALOT every night..You will do fine, don't freak out on the tests..Not a very good professor for teaching, likes to ramble and tell pointless stories...Overall, pretty good.
I hate his teaching style. It's completely useless because he spends more time using analogies than he does telling us what we need to know. The book is the only way I got through this class. It's actually not that hard of a class if you just use the book to study
Anatomy is a pretty hard class, but I'd recommend taking it with Wilson. It's hard, but the info is important and you really learn a lot. I used the book a lot but I know some people just study the notes and still get A's. Good class.
Wilson is an OK teacher. It's hard to understand him and his notes seem like a jumble some of the time. He really does want you to do good though and he will help you. You need to study a lot. He says study around 2-3 hours for every 1 hour of lecture notes. Lectures do get boring, but he tries to make them intresting.
The notes are kinda hard to understand some of his notes. Definitely need to study prior to tests. Can kind of be inconsiderate while in class
Very dedicated in teaching, ready to help all time and honest
Dr. Wilson is awesome! Yes, he can be scatterbrained and reverse some things..but he is an amazing professor that is very smart! :)Anatomy and Physiology are both very hard classes, but I recommend you take it from Wilson, his tests are all off his notes, you will learn alot, but you need to put in the time and study like crazy
Dr. Wilson is a great guy! He genuinely wants his students to do their best, but the class requires a huge time commitment--up to two hours for every hour of lecture. I ended up withdrawing from the class to salvage my GPA. But if you're ready to be dedicated to lots of studying, you'll love his class. He's always high energy and ready to go.
Dr. Wilson is a GREAT professor! He knows what he's talking about and has a great style of teaching! You have to put A LOT of time into it but if you do, its not that bad! Take with Wilson! But be prepared to study A LOT!!!
Wilson is an amazing teacher. He's hard, and you're going to have to work your BUTT off, but it's totally worth it. Take your lab with him and get to know him. He's a really great guy.. but he doesn't mess around with tests. Make sure to read the book!
Dr. Wilson is a great prof! Super passionate about what he does and willing to help you whenever! You need to make your best effort though - the class is tough!!
I learned so much in this class. Wilson expects a lot out of his students and if you work hard you will get the grade you deserve. Work hard and you'll do fine
Prof Wilson is awesome! I would never take anatomy with anyone but him. This class really isn't that hard if you pay attention and read through your notes! If you're lazy and don't like studying, don't take this class, and get used to it, because that is what college is about. Cool guy, interactive lectures, funny, take him.
Not an easy grader--study hard, read the book, review diagrams from lecture. You can't slide by on prior knowledge. He goes through lecture fast. He cares about you doing well and remembering the material because it's important! I didn't study thoroughly, got a C, realized I wanted to teach, and 2 years later he still asks how I am. Great guy.
Really easy hardly had to study and I had no prior experience in the subject matter. Really don't need to study just know the material
Great professor but you have to to WORK in the class you have to spend a lot of time with the book and the notes outside of lecture and actually pay attention. He also keeps lecture very interesting.
Terrible professor. Scatterbrained in class with no kind of lesson plan to follow, spends more time making backwards analogies than actually teaching, doesn't follow the book at all and instead tests on random obscure facts and numbers that aren't based on any kind of main idea in the class. Avoid this professor at all costs.
One of the best professors I ever had! So helpful and he really cares about his students!
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU ARE IN NURSING. Wilson has confusing powerpoints and rambles about stuff not part of the class. Sarcastic if you ask him questions. Tests hard to understand.
Dr. Wilson is probably the best professor you could take for A&P. He really wants his students to do well, and even though it takes a little work, you end up learning a lot more. He does require you to do work in his class, but that's what college is. Definitely recommend this class to any Nursing student.
Very unclear, all over when teaching lecture, no sign of organization, does not use official school website for teachers, limited office hours. He does know everything about anything in his field, however, so is helpful when asked. He was not the type of professor that i needed.
Dr. Wilson is a great professor who expects his students to know a lot. The thing I liked about Dr. Wilson's lectures was that they were so fast paced that I couldn't afford to not pay attention. This kept me engaged and dedicated to my work.
Professor Wilson is very knowlegable. He is willing to help, but only if you go and ask him during his office hours. His tests can be challenging, but he provides all his information during class and in his powerpoints. If you do not understand somehing in the powerpoint, look it up in the book. I highly recommend Wilson for Anatomy and Physiology.
Great professor. Truly cares about his students. Going to his office hours is very helpful for questions. Very nice person as well. Funny in class. He is quirky but he knows everything about his field. You'll work hard but you'll learn much more from him than you would from other profs. Highly recommend taking if you want to learn the material.
great teacher. he helped a lot and cares about his students. would for sure and am taking him again.
REALLY good teacher. He's such a nice guy and he really cares about what he's teaching. He expects a lot from you, but you get out of the class what you put into it. Be prepared to study but you can get an A (even though people say you can't). Lecture notes are somewhat disorganized but if you go back and take your own it helps a lot.
GREAT PROFESSOR! The reason he gets so much hate is because lots of people come into college expecting the professors to spoon-feed them A's. Dr. Wilson makes you WORK for your grade, but when you're done you feel more accomplished because you really earned the grade you got. I would take him!
Great professor. Of course you are going to have to study and yes it will be a lot of work. People who didn't like him are the people who flat out thought they didn't need to study. wake up people, it's college. I got an A but also put in lots of time. Definitely take him, especially nursing students who are serious about their career
Excellent Professor wish I would of taken him for Biol 211, Yes you will have to study to get an A but it is very doable. Assigns assignments to boost grades and tests are straight forward. He will post his old exams to study off of and if you go through and explain to yourself why it is or isn't each answer you will do just fine, and go to S2i.
Professor Wilson is a great guy. He makes you work for your grade, but you will learn so much taking his class! He never makes you feel stupid and seems like he sincerely wants you to succeed. Even though I didn't get an A, I am more confident going forward in my schooling.
I know anatomy is tough and I was expecting it to be, but Wilson made it almost impossible. He says you don't need the text book, but unless you are a pure genius or really good at memorizing tough information, I would suggest reading the chapters. He is extremely confusing. Final is cumulative and DIFFICULT! STUDY STUDY STUDY
Personally I can learn from him but I know a lot of people who have a very hard time trying to distinguish if what he is saying is an example or a tangent. In A&P 211 you could theoretically skip lecture and get by with a B or C but he really pushes you to be the best student you can be.
Expect metaphors more than material No clear lesson plan. No direct explanation of any of the material. Wilson seems like a nice guy, but he dances around making strange metaphors that don't connect only to suddenly say "and thats how cells keep us alive." He avoids answering questions He is never prepared. Scatterbrained. Incoherent.
He gives only about 3 lecture exams, but they are difficult. He says the book is not necessary but it totally is needed for you to do well on the tests.
I took him and ended up dropping out, he is extremely hard to understand (for me at least) and says several times there is no extra credit or curves. He is always giving examples rather than just clear cut explaining thing. AVOID THIS PROFESSOR!
His lectures seem scatterbrained and incoherent to some people, but are actually extremely beneficial if you are checked in during lecture and make connections of understanding which help become more fluent on the topic! By far my favorite class although it takes extra work. Go to s2i !!!
Wilson is a nice person, but wasn't the teacher for me. He knows his stuff, but half of his notes don't make sense or they have questions that you have to answer yourself. I spent hours studying and then 75% of it wasn't on the exams. He is always willing to help and wants his students to succeed though.
Lectures are hard to follow and not clear. He leaves things off with and that's important or that's something to ponder but never truly explains what he is talking about. Your notes become your textbook. Test are tough and worded terribly. He tries to be overly technical and sound smart but instead makes things super confusing.
You need to be determined to do well. Wilson cares the most out of all the AP professors-he is almost there everyday in the morning in open lab to answer questions students have and honestly wants you to do well. Out of the hundreds of students Dr. Wilson had he some how managed to remember my name and was always so encouraging. STUDY
Ted is a very hard teacher. In lecture he gives too much info. To pass the class you will need to read the book religiously. If you skip lecture you will not do well on exams. Tests are insanely tough, the questions are confusing and long. If you are able to read every chapter and take notes fast while understanding them you will do fine.
I was really nervous going into second semester having Wilson as a teacher because I heard he was tough. I was ready to work and it paid off. I thought he was an excellent professor who knows his stuff, and wants to make sure you do too. He is always willing to help if you need it. Tests can be tricky if you're not careful. S2I was super helpful!!
I loved having Wilson as a professor. He genuinely loves talking about A and P and is always helpful. If you ask him questions, his answers are often extensive, but that really helped me actually understand the physiology of bodily processes which is extremely important if you are going to be a medical professional. Test are challenging!
You definitely have to study, and tests can be worded a little weird but you get used to it. Wilson is very willing to help you if you have questions. Doesn't let you use cheat sheets, but it helps you actually learn the material. Overall, happy that I had him, I feel confident with the material.
Wilson is a really nice, and funny guy. His teaching skills aren't great though. He is very scatter-brained and goes off topic a lot. I was very confused about 90% of the time and the only thing that helped me was going to S2i. He enjoys tricking you on his exams, and makes you work really hard for your grade. He grades exams and quizzes super fast
Hard teacher.
I had Prof Wilson my first semester for anatomy. He is a very energetic guy that really loves anatomy and will go to great lengths and do crazy things to get you to enjoy it too. His lectures are a bit dense, but reading the book will help clear that up. He does like to word his tests difficultly too.
His lectures are so hard to get information from. His powerpoints are all questions and he answers less than half of them so you're pretty much on your own with the information. The only thing that saved me was lab exams because I'm good at memorizing
Dr. Wilson takes a couple days/weeks to get used to, but once I got used to his method of teaching I loved his class. His lectures are a bit hard to understand, as his powerpoints are dense in material, but I learned so much from his class. One of my favorite professors so far!
Wilson is terrible. He is all over the place during lectures. I found it truly hard to keep up with what he was saying. FIND A DIFFERENT PROFESSOR
He is pretty wild during his lectures, but tries to get you to understand the material in a different way! When I had trouble, I went to him and he was very helpful and wanted me to succeed. He offered pretty good advice and it definitely helped me do well in his class.
Professor Wilson is a hit or miss depending on your personality, learning style, and willingness to work. If you anatomy to be a breeze, take a different professor. However, if you want to really learn material, TAKE HIM! All the anatomy students know that Wilsons kids end up knowing the most content.
Everyone seems to think Wilson is VERY hard, however if you put in the work you will receive a good grade. It takes a few classes to get how he teaches and understands how his quizzes/exams are. He knows his stuff!! He repeats stories a lot, and can get off task. But don't zone out!!!! Vey good guy! Great professor overall, I learned a lot from him
I heckin' love him. I've never learned so much from a professor here and you can tell he's very passionate. He really shows the practical application of what you learn and he says "you gotta know all the cool stuff to do all the cool stuff" which is SO true. I'm inspired to be a better scientist because of him. TAKE HIM, but you really gotta #werk.
I was nervous to take Wilson because I heard he was hard. He was not exactly "hard", he just provides a lot of info. If you want to get your moneys worth out of Anatomy, take Wilson as your professor. He wants everyone to do well and pushes kids to do their best. He provides a lot of real world examples. Go to S2I and open lab, you should do well!
He applies any concept to real-life medical conditions. Does not allow for cheat sheets, but neither do the boards, so better to start early. It's what you put into the class. If you go to S2i and do not leave everything until last minute to study, you will do just fine. He gives some extra credit here and there, but mainly its what you make of it.
Wilson really cares how you do in his class, but he does make you earn your grade. Best advice- Go to open lab and s2i, even if you're not struggling. Don't be too proud to show you need help. It's a difficult course, but you can make it easier. Even though he's the 'harder' of the anatomy profs, he's the best. If you want to learn, take Wilson!
I would not recommend this instructor to anyone- I asked for help after I didn't understand his lecture and was promptly told to figure it out myself. Initially I was upset, but gradually grew into bitter disappointment as the problems with the tangential lectures and abstract explanations remained unchanged.
He is really passionate about what he teaches which makes for fun lectures. He brings up a lot of real life examples but can be scatter brained. There is always extra credit on tests and he gives you a few homework assignments to help your grade. He is also great for lab!
Wilson gives opportunity for extra credit frequently and his tests are very straight forward. Highly recommend for nursing majors. He adds extra homework assignments but they are easy and help boost your grade. Go to open lab and S2I frequently if you are aiming for an A in the class.
I was a medic in the military for 8 years. If you are really want to be in the medical field take this professor. Lecture moves fast but if you need help understanding the material find him at office hours and you will understand by the time you leave. I will take his classes again
Wilson is the hardest A&P teacher at WSU but he will prepare you the best for the future. As long as you put in the work you should be fine. Study hard from the beginning or it will be hard to catch up. He cares about how his students do and is really good about extra credit. Do all the extra credit you can. His teaching style can be hard to adjust
By far one of my favorite teachers at WSU but his class is very hard. If you really love the medical field and love learning, take his class. He applies everything to how you will see it in the medical field. He's very wacky, full of energy and keeps your attention. (he literally spits, brings in his dog, and runs around the classroom)
Wilson is an awesome professor that always tries to keep you on your toes by doing crazy things! I recommend asking him questions during his open office hours instead of in class. Go to s2i, read the book it will help you understand material that you don't get in lecture, and also go to open lab. When studying create wilson-like questions.
Dr. Wilson is a great Anatomy and Physiology professor. He's really interested in the topic, so he goes in depth with a lot of things. His class is difficult, but if you put the work in, you'll get the grade you want. He's also kind of confusing when in lecture because he tells a lot of stories.
Wilson gives a lot of opportunity for extra points to boost your grade in the class which is nice. Test questions for the most part are straight-forward. You will need to study for this class. Wilson doesn't do much "teaching" so you will need to learn the material yourself. He is one of the better teachers to take for A&P especially for nursing.
Dr. Wilson is such a great professor and he really cares about his students. He is really passionate about what he teaches, which makes his lectures more interesting. There isn't much homework given, but when there is, it's just completion points, he doesn't even read through them. Just study frequently and you should be fine! I highly recommend
Ive had Wilson for both Bio 211 & 212 and I am so glad I chose him. He is the hard professor for anatomy, but he really prepares you for the future. You WILL know the material by the end of the course, not just for the test. This class definitely requires time and energy studying- but the payoff is great! Would take it again in a heartbeat.
Wilson is such a caring professor. He is the best professor to take for anatomy. As long as you are motivated to do well in Anatomy, his class is a breeze. You don't have to read the book at all because his tests are based off of lecture. Take him...
Professor Wilson gets a bad rep about being really hard. He really is not. He is very unorganized, yes. But, once you get a feel for his style, it is super easy to do well in his class! He is super funny and makes lectures a blast. I recommend taking him! Make sure you study outside of class otherwise don't expect to do well.
Dr. Wilson is a great professor who really tries to get to know his students, even in a large lecture hall. As a freshman, it may seem like he expects a lot out of you, but the content itself is challenging and he really does prepare you well but only if you do additional studying and take advantage of S2i. Highly recommend for nursing majors.
Dr. Wilson, is a funny and caring guy, but he's not very understanding. As a student in his lab he gives good examples, but if the class doesn't speak up (we are shy) he belittles our efforts and shares that we will fail our exams because we don't know anything. He's a good guy, but speak up or he will make you feel bad about your education.
He's a funny guy and he likes to tell stories, but if you do not pay attention, you will not pass his class.
Bio 211 is easily my favorite class. Dr. Wilson is so energetic during lectures and runs up and down the isles. He's a great professor. He expects you to do the work and if you do it properly, I promise you will retain that knowledge for a long time! He really tries to learn everyones names. He's like the flash when submitting grades! Take him!
I'm a nursing major and this has been my favorite class this semester. I would definitely recommend Dr. Wilson as your professor for A and P. He does tell a lot of stories but his tests are easy and clear, study and you will do just fine!
Wilson is very enthusiastic about teaching A&P. He is very fun & always in a good mood. Hes understanding, but dont expect him to change your grade for any reason besides him typing it in wrong. If you dont attend class you wont get the info and wont pass the exams. Can be a bit confusing at times but hes always willing to answer questions
He is hard. wish I would have looked at rate my professor before I took him. His questions are worded weird and are hard and specific. He's very nice and funny but a hard professor to take.
No options for extra credit and 90% of your grade will come from exams. He tries to make the lectures interesting but most of the time, you're just gonna try to stay awake. He is the only professor that doesn't let you make a cheat sheet for exams.
My favorite professor for sure! He genuinely cares for his students and wants them to be successful. It is really important to make a relationship with him in lab or something like that, to make yourself known. Tough class but the most rewarding in the end. Work hard and you will succeed... Good Luck :)
I think that Dr. Wilson was a really fun professor. He is very energetic and it's always a good time. I've only had to use the textbook for the labs. He really wants you to do well, and what more can you ask for in a professor. You do need to put in the time and effort to really do well though. Go into open lab. Do your best and you should be fine.
Lectures were extremely hard to focus. He tried to make things funny by running around the classroom/standing on his head/holding his breath, but half the time I had no idea where he was coming from. To me, he never made any sense. Taking anatomy will take away all and any of your social life. Hardest class Ive ever taken.
Very knowledgable but quite disorganized. His lecture slides are very confusing and hard to study from. The lab was much easier to understand but very hard. I only passed the class thanks to S2i. GO TO S2I AS MUCH AS YOU CAN.
Wilson is the best teacher, but not lecture wise. His lectures are hard to follow, he makes you work for the grade you want, but is willing to help out when needed. He helped me along and pulled me from an F to a C my first semester. Go to his office hours, talk to him, email him, he really likes to talk and help where he can, even though hes hard.
Wilson is a great teacher but very tough!! He does tend to get off topic a lot in the lectures which make it difficult to understand! Be prepared to study EVERY DAY and go to S2I. The tests are VERY difficult if you study and read the notes it'll be easier to get a good grade on the exams
Dr. Wilson really knew his stuff but he was quite disorganized. His lecture notes were not very clear and hard for me to follow. He put some things in exams that we didn't cover in lecture. But, Dr. Wilson was a great guy and was helpful if you had questions. Make sure that you are very motivated to do well in his class and don't fall behind at all
By far my favorite professor! You will learn so much in his class. He does his best every lecture to make it interesting and applies that material to your life. Put in the work. Study. Think about the material outside of class to better help your understanding of it. Take his class! I wish I could again.
Wilson makes sure to keep lectures interesting and engaging. You need to put a lot of time and effort into the class in order to be successful. He wants students to do well, and can take it personally if you don't. The lecture notes can be confusing to understand. You should go to S2i. It's a lecture class, but he still knows everybody's name.
very understanding professor, well respected and kind. very willing to help! however this class is very hard so be prepared to work your butt off. I struggle to stay awake during lecture. i could barely hear him and i sat in the front!!!!!!! something i found very frustrating. but overall, good professor!
Wilson is a great professor, printing of the lecture notes and reading over them will help a lot! You have to put in the work, it's a really time consuming class. Grades are with exams, Lab exams, quizzes, assignments, and a written paper. He tells stories to show examples. Test questions are applications of stuff and important to know in depth.
Dr. Wilson is the hardest professor that I have ever learned from. It is possible to do well, however you need to dedicate at least 3 hours a day just to studying the lecture content. I did this and got a C in the class. He has a great personality and wants his students to pass.
I really enjoyed having Dr. Wilson. He was so passionate about his teaching and he gets to know everyone in your lecture. He is always available to talk and really wants people to do well. If you put in the effort you will be able to do well. I would recommend him!
Dr. Wilson is a good professor.. if only I could give him a 2.5 rating I would. I just personally cannot learn from him, he was not my learning style. I spent a lot of time studying for his class and only got a C and I knew I could do better because I'm usually an A student..
Not a good professor, rude and condescending. He did not want to see me pass this class or many others. Don't take him.
Take Wilson if you are headed into pre-med. I had Wilson for Bio 211 and 212 and 212 is significantly harder. His slides have very little notes so pay attention in lecture. S2I and tutoring are super helpful! Rewriting his notes and recording his lectures are super helpful too! If you try and apply yourself you should be able to get a good grade
Wilson's class can be tough and his notes can be disorganized and very difficult to follow, but you learn a lot from his class. Lab exams can be hard, but if you study and go to open lab you should do fine. Everything on exams are from his lectures and powerpoint slides, and if you go to S2i they review almost everything that will be on exams.
I had Dr. Wilson for anatomy 211 and 212 and loved him as a professor. As long as you show up to lectures and study hard you will be fine. He's very passionate about what he teaches so his lectures are always interesting to listen to. Make sure to go to s2i and don't be afraid to use tutoring!!!
Dr. Wilson is a very caring professor and is very good for Anatomy! He is a very passionate teacher and will make sure you understand the content being taught. I highly recommend him as a teacher.
Dr. Wilson tries so hard to make learning fun and involve students or apply content to their lives. AnP 2 is not a walk in the park but he really wants to see you succeed! Just show up to lectures, do the assignments, study the content, and you have a pretty good chance of doing well!
Dr. Wilson is so annoying. I don't like being in the same room as him. He is also very old-fashioned in how he teaches and probably should retire.
He is not nice.
Super frustrating professor. His lectures are all over the place and completely disorganized. Don't bother asking him questions outside of class because he will lecture you about everything except what your question was. Bad professor and a bad person.
Doesn't seem to know we have other classes too. He once gave us 3 days to write out 3 different multistep processes 10 times each, by hand (15 sheets of paper, each side took a half-hour or so). Also makes light of common causes of death and asks very forward questions about the medical history of students and their families.
Wilson knows what he is talking about and that is easy to see but he expects you to already know the content and that is just not the case for most people. He says he wants to see everyone do well but he doesn't actually do anything about that, especially when it comes to one on one conversations with him. I don't recommend him.
Very inappropriate professor. Do not take. The only reason that he is not fired is because he is tenured.
Lecture notes are chicken scratches on a white board. Even if you spend 20+ hours studying a week and understand whats going on, the test questions are impossible to understand bc of how he words them. If you want to work your butt off to fail a class then this is for you, if not, find another professor.
I would not suggest Wilson to anyone. I know several individuals that dropped his class because of how confusing the lectures were. Just DO NOT take him.
I can't do justice to all the inappropriate comments he's made so I'll just mention that if you don't talk enough in class he'll refuse to teach and belittle the class for 10 minutes. Also forces the whole class to answer questions, calling out those who don't raise their hands, but some of the questions are about family members' health inc. cancer
Wilsons ppt didn't explain anything, and you needed to go to the book to get you through his notes. I found leaving his lectures left me more confused than when I walked in. He also says out of pocket stuff sometimes to people in class. Overall DON'T TAKE HIM!!!
He basically calls you dumb if you ask questions he thinks you should know. Often goes off lecture slides and gives strange analogies that do not make sense. Spends half a class period after exams ridiculing the class for scoring low and that he's 'not afraid to fail people'. I don't recommend this professor if you're not ready to teach yourself.
Ted is a very discouraging professor. He makes you feel belittled and is very sexist. He can't admit to his mistakes and instead blames his students. Unfortunately, Ted is the most horrific and dreadful professor I think I'll ever encounter. He has no respect for his students especially if you're a nursing major. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Dr. Wilson is a nice guy. But, if you value your education at all and want to succeed, do not take him. His lectures don't make any sense. If you want to understand the material, you need to read the textbook throughly. But even the textbook and exams do not correlate at all. Take literally any other professor.
Get work done and submitted correctly and he will give you full credit for points. Lectures don't make sense, as he goes off topic multiple times and often time starts lectures very negative if the class didn't do well on previous lab or lecture exam. Just don't take him.
He's super unreliable. I learned very early in the semester that it's a waste of time to ask him questions. He simply will not help you. Do not take a class from this guy. It will hurt your mental health.
Wilson is one of the most unprofessional professors at Winona State. He consistently threw temper tantrums throughout the semester where he would storm out of the classroom because we weren't "participating" enough. When you can hear him, it is incoherent babble and him making fun of your medical disabilities.
Very unprofessional and rude to students both in person and through email. Do the assignments on time and you will get full credit. The exams have nothing to do with his lectures, so get ready to read the book. Also, his lectures are no use in going to.
You will not learn anything in this professor do not take him for any classes.
Ted Wilson is a very interesting guy, he is very outgoing and can be a a bit much in lectures and may yell at you if you are not at his level. His lectures and slides are all over the place and most of the time do not make a ton of sense. GO TO S2I, it will go over what he made seem more difficult than it actually is
His lectures are very confusing and he thinks you have lots of prior knowledge, but lab gives you time to understand the material. You do have to spend a lot of time outside of class to really understand everything and the tests are hard and really in-depth. He is really passionate about what hes teaching and he will help you if you ask questions.
Ted Wilson is one of the most confusing professors ever. He will call you out in front of your lab or lecture class about your grade in the class, he makes you feel stupid for not knowing the content that he is supposed to teach you. Read the book for the tests and go to S2I because you won't learn it in lecture.
Dr. Wilson is an interesting and entertaining professor. As for his class, read the textbook before class because the lectures will be confusing if you don't. GO TO S2I. It will save your grade! The tests are only hard if you don't know the content inside out and backwards. That being said, take if from him if you actually want to learn A+P.
Lectures were difficult to follow. Used analogies that didn't make sense. I ended up skipping most lectures because I found it easier to learn the info on my own. He expects this class to be the most important thing in your life. He really likes to tell you when you do something wrong "a good nurse would know this". Overall not awful but not great
-Learned better from reading and taking notes from lecture slides -You would need to learn independently rather than seek extra help from him during office hours -Taking both Bio 323 (lecture portion) and Bio 324 (lab portion), be ready for a heavy homework load
Dr. Wilson can be very hit or miss; my stance on him shifted a ton by the end. You must show effort either in or out of class or he will not be lenient whatsoever. His lectures are all over the place, and confusing. Using the slides as a guide and watching YouTube videos will be your best friend. Connecting with him as a person goes a long way.
Dr. Wilson is definitely better at teaching 212 than 211.He is hard to follow in lectures, but as you get used to him he is easier to follow. He can seem intense at first but he has good intentions. He often offers extra credit points, and is pretty understanding of personal conflict. Lots of assignments but it really helps to pull your grade up!
I had Wilson for A & P 1 & 2, and I would do it again. I really like the guy, but his class is hard.
I was scared to take Dr. Wilson after reading all of his reviews but he turned out to be a great professor. He makes some comments that are questionable, but he is a really great guy. He makes his lectures interesting and he knows what he is talking about. He answers all of my questions and responds to his emails within 2 hours after sending them.
I was really scared about taking Wilson given some of the reviews but he's really not that bad. It's definitely an adjustment for the first few weeks because his lectures are sometimes hard to follow but once you learn his teaching style the course itself feels less overwhelming. There are a lot of assignments but they are a good grade booster.
Honestly, I really liked Wilson as a professor. He can be a bit scatterbrained, and lectures are all over the place, but he's a really nice guy. He's super accessible, and is willing to work with students outside of class. There's a lot of assignments, but they're relatively easy and great grade boosters.
A lot of people don't like Wilson but I thought he was an amazing professor and super understanding. If you study hard for all the lectures and lab exams you'll do just fine. He does give a lot of homework but he's an easy grader and it's a grade booster.
He has a habit of making offensive comments and asking forward questions about students' medical histories in class. His slides are so disorganized and devoid of information that studying from them is a waste of time. Gives excessive homework, goes off-topic often, and will refuse to teach/walk out of class if he's unsatisfied with the class.
Dr. Wilson gives entertaining lectures. His class is hard, it takes a lot of outside time, but his exams are based only on his notes. He responds fast to emails, and wants everyone to do well. People don't like him because they don't put the time in that it needs to be successful in this class. He is odd/a little old fashioned, but overall good.
Many people try and avoid taking his classes at all costs because they think that he is impossible. Yes, his slides are often disorganized and confusing. But, if you are willing to put in the work in you will be fine. The tests are only off of the content slideshows and are straightforward. There are lots of chances for extra points too.
Wasn't horrible, but definitely some downsides. Lecture wasn't mandatory, but if you don't go/don't review things posted online, you'll get lost quick. HW was about 2-3 weekly assignments; at least 1 averaged 10pgs. Tests will be your downfall, very challenging. Kinda quirky Prof. & confusing when you ask for help, but overall he knows his stuff.
- Assigns a lot of handwritten homework in the middle of the week - disorganized lectures - labs are unhelpful - disrespectful towards the nursing field - sometimes creepy towards students - can barely hear in lectures
He was a nice person and very understanding but his lectures were hard to follow, he his tests did not line up with what was taught always, and he often disregarded the importance of nurses/nursing. Many of my fellow nursing peers felt disrespected by him due to his comments on nursing as a profession, opposed to being a MD.
Had Wilson for both sections of A and P and he is very understanding and wants you to succeed and understand the material but he does give homework assignments every week, labs are taken for attendance, lectures can be disorganized, everything on exams comes from packets/slideshows, offers extra credit.
Ted Wilson made disturbing, inappropriate comments towards students. He was rude and disrespectful and there were a lot of notes, with PowerPoints that were incorrectly made and poor formatting. I withdrew because I knew that there was no hope of passing. I wouldn't personally take this class; I'd take a different one.
I had Wilson for 211&212 and he's not that bad, but he's definitely scatterbrained. Lectures are confusing, and his slideshows are borderline useless. Tests are straightforward. I really recommend reading the textbook- he pulls some test questions from the review at the end of each chapter. He's definitely a stereotypical kooky bio prof.
Wilson was overall a good professor. You can tell that he cares about all of his students and wants everyone to do well. I personally do not think he was as bad as people made him out to be. His lecture slides are very messy and confusing at times but I though he made lecture enjoyable and fun.
Ted is definitely an interesting guy and I have never met a professor/teacher like him. You really have to get used to his teaching methods as his lectures are typically spent rambling about random things. If you can learn to filter out the nonsense and pay attention to the main concepts, this class isn't that bad. Use the textbook!!
Ted is a character. Once you get used to him and how he lectures, his course is not too bad. I would typically study the lecture slides before class and use the textbook for further explanation, then use the lecture as a review. All test content is in the lectures or lab packets. You just have to ignore how crazy he is sometimes.
He was so scatterbrained. Lecture notes didn't make any sense so I eventually just stopped showing up to lectures and I taught myself the material from the textbook. He is really sweet though and wants you to succeed, and he's very accommodating if you reach out to him. He just really needs to be put on some ADHD meds or something.
Dr. Wilson is an engaging and accessible professor with a unique teaching style that includes memorable stories and demonstrations. He genuinely cares about student success and creates a fun learning environment. Though he assigns a lot of homework, it is beneficial and directly related to test questions. I took both BIOL 211 and 212 with him.
While Dr. Wilson's class takes some adjusting, it's worth the effort. The lectures can be disorganized, but he's very knowledgeable. The workload is heavy, but the assignments are good grade boosters. Unstuckstudy AI was a lifesaver for my study prep.
His class was amazing, not everyone meshed with his, but he is a fun guy to talk to, and a great proffessor. If you have him for your A&P lab you will end up doing most of the lab assignment outside of the lab, but you will participate in fun labs
I had heard many horror stories about this guy and how you won't pass unless you study 12+ hours a week, fake news. I like to think I am relatively smart but I make flashcards for maybe 1 hour a week and I have over 100% in his class. If you do the homework and actually interact with the guy, you will pass with flying colors.
Ted has a bad rep and I was very nervous reading reviews on him. Fast forward to the end of the semester and he is my favorite Professor. ACTUALLY get to know him and if your an athlete he really cuts you slack. I feel like I got a great education from Ted. Study his lecture packets and go look at the models for lab and you will perfectly fine.
Wilson is a nice prof who cares about students, but his lectures were all over the place and I never learned anything. His power points were also hard to follow because they would just have questions on them. Gave a lot of tedious homework. Labs were boring, you'd just read. I guess you kind of just teach yourself.
Wilson is an awesome professory, actually helps you LEARN unlike the other A and P professors. No it is not easy content but it is all very important and he helps you learn. He is funny once you get to know him and cares about you as a person.
Dr. Wilson was my favorite professor. His class is hard but it is easy to pass if you study and actually do the assignments. His tests will make you apply what you know so don't just memorize it, actually try to understand it. People talk bad about him all the time but thats just because they expect college to be easy.
Dr. Wilson is the BEST! I heard so many stories of this class being the worst, but this class was the best. You have to work if you want a good grade, but an A is achievable. Wilson is the nicest guy you will meet and genuinely wants you to succeed. I studied a lot outside of class and went to S2i, which really helped me succeed.
love love love Wilson. He's so oddly funny. I'm obsessed with him. Lots of homework, but its an easy grade booster. Really get to know him as a person. He's the sweetest, and just wants you to succeed.
He made lectures quite interesting. Cared about making sure everybody was learning and understanding. Quite a bit of homework, but it really helped to retain the information.
Wilson is all over the place during his lectures which makes it very hard to follow along. About 1 or 2 assignments per week. The class is pretty much teaching yourself all of the content he will hand you a packet and just have you look everything up on google. Watch videos to help understand content because he isn't much help
Ted is great if you are willing to put in the work, as he is considerate and has interesting stories to tell. He assigns quite a bit of homework along with a lot of quizzes and tests, but if you prepare well you shouldn't have a problem. I found watching youtube videos along with writing the lecture notes after each class helped me tremendously.
Wilson is the best professor I have had at WSU. He absolutely loves teaching, will answer any questions and is easy to reach outside of class. 1-2 lecture assignments a week but they're easy grade boosters. Great guy who just wants his students to do well. 3 exams (including the final)+ 3 quizzes, just pay attention in lecture and study the slides.
Wants to see you succeed
Fantastic teacher. It's not mandatory, but you should to go to lecture to understand everything. I had to print out the slides, write on them, and then rewrite them to learn everything. Ninja Nerd on YouTube will be your best friend. TAKE THE LAB IF YOU CAN BECAUSE ITS FUN!! BIOL 324. Btw - test questions are specific, so definitely need to study.
Dr. Wilson is the nicest guy you will meet and wants you to succeed. If you work hard, you will be fine with this course. Going to the lecture is key, and writing notes. I studied around 2-3 hours after every lecture to understand the material. Overall, if you show up and put in the hours, you will be just fine in this course. DON'T SKIP LAB!!!
his lectures are very funny and he tells a lot of stories to connect the material to real life. i really liked him overall, just be sure to pay good attention in lecture and do the practice quizzes/exams. do all the worksheets too for easy points.
Overall really fun guy, he can be a bit weird during his lectures, but he does it to make sure people are awake and paying attention. He tries really hard to learn everybody's name to even in a class of 100+. Overall i would definatly take him again for A+P II
wilson is not for the weak. he makes you put in time and effort into this course. but he is very friendly and cooperative and he does this for your benefit. overall an amazing teacher and although this course had me sobbing most nights it taught me a lot and shows if you have what it takes to persue a nursing major. do your homework!
I had Dr. Wilson second semester of my sophomore year and he was by far the worst professor I have ever had. I showed every day for class, took notes, and did all of my homework/studied and I still got bullied by him when I asked for help. he said I was not doing enough. left his office one time crying because he was so disrespectful.
very good person overall, get to know him as a person and you will pass his class. tough grader, strong opinions. doesnt help much when asked question. go to a tutor. fun lectures and labs at times, will make you work for your grade but it will feel amazing if you get a good grade in his class
Professor Wilson is a great teacher, he cares about his students and wants everyone to succeed. His class is hard but it will prepare you for nursing or a career in that area. He rambles on a lot but he is funny and has lots of good stories. His tests are hard but everything is in the notes you will be tested on.
He's genuinely a nice person who wants everyone to succeed. Sometimes goes off topic and gives silly examples, but they do occasionally help on exams. This is not an easy class. Everything in your notes will show up on the exams, also be prepared to teach yourself a lot of the material. Overall, he's supportive, but you'll need to put in the work.
Wilson is very passionate about helping students learn the material inside and out for the betterment of their future. However, he is beyond discouraging towards students and their futures, making comments that you won't make it in your future career, having you second-guess everything. Wouldn't recommend taking for the sake of your mental health.
Dr. Wilson is not for the weak- however I can say with full confidence that a student who makes it through his class will have emerged more knowledgeable than a student who took any other professor. From day one he makes it clear that the standards that he holds you to aren't that of a student but that of a future nurse. He truly cares.
I think he is great! Relates real life stuff to the class and makes it make better sense. I made sure to get him for next semester!
Professor Wilson is my favorite professor! I absolutely loved his class. You have to work really hard to do well, but if you are passionate about your future healthcare career, he is the best professor you could have. Make a connection with him outside of class, and that will definitely help you. Make sure you start studying right away.
I loved Professor Wilson! His class does require some work to get a good grade and I would strongly recommend going to lecture because he tells you what will be on the exam and doesn't read straight from the slides, so lectures are valuable. He is very caring and tries hard to learn everyone's names. Assignments can be long but are easy points!
Wilson is a professor who cares about every student. Lectures are never boring, and he uses a lot of analogies to make connections. He is a little disorganized and scattered, but you will get used to his teaching method. He gives a lot of extra credit on tests and is very understanding. Wilson is very knowledgeable and a great professor overall!
Lecture heavy course, and some important details are occasionally overlooked in class even though they can show up on exams. I recommend going to S2I, they're very helpful. There are a lot of projects that can boost your grade, but they are time-consuming. Be prepared to study a lot outside of class and teach yourself much of the content.
