perfect
Crystal-clear in her assignment descriptions and throughout the course, one of the only classes I've taken online that the professor is ALWAYS up to date on grades and fantastic communication. Seriously a great teacher.
The teacher was, alright. The work was fairly easy, but the assignments weren't very clear. Grading was a little tough only because she wouldn't tell you what was expected and then grade you on stuff that was missing. Overall not to bad, passed with a B.
This is one of those classes that is packed with pointless busy work and nothing you will take with you into the real world. Also, a group project, really? And you have to interview a person in a career you like, that entails a drawn out process down to planning your outfit you will wear. Worst online class I've ever taken, do not recommend.
I took Communications 1010 online. It was a pretty self-explanatory easy class. She gives you good feedback and responds pretty quickly. You do have a group project, and it was kind of difficult because it was an online class. Lots of projects, so you actually need to put effort into this class. Good teacher though.
I recommend avoiding this teacher. She has huge projects for every module, it is major overload for a generals class. It's all busy work, nothing of value. She isn't very clear on what she expects and then docks you points if you don't do what she had in mind. I would work exactly off of her examples and get docked for not doing it correctly.
For being a communications class, Teisha was awful at communicating. Her assignments were not clear and the group project is an absolute joke. She was hard to get in touch with and what she expected on the majority of the assignments was unclear. I would definitely go with a different communications professor if I were you.
This class was a lot of work. There is an career interview project right in the beginning, a group project in the middle, and a speech that you have to do at the end even though this was an online class. There are no tests but the many projects make up for that. She is also a very specific grader.
This class is a TON of work. You have to do a group project, interview someone who works in a field that you like, and do a speech in front of 5 people. The grading is very specific and you have to pay close attention to that. Try another teacher. Easy A, but you had to do a lot of busy work. I would not bother buying the book if I were you...
This class was an online class... But there was so much project work that it would have been better in class. There was no final, so that was great. But it was just so much busy work... Pointless in my opinion. I paid 108$ for the book. I literally never opened it once.... Super easy to get an A if you just log in once a week for about two hours.
This was a typical online class where it is mandatory to participate in a weekly discussion, and write back to two other classmates. There is a TON of busy work in this class, however I never took more than 3 hours a week to finish it all. The projects were enjoyable, and Ms. Vest gives great feedback, and she follows her rubric.
I took the comm1010 online class and it was very busy. One interview, one group project and one presentation. Then there are about a million other things along side those big projects. If you do the work you can get an A but it takes time.
You get docked for dumb things. She didn't communicate very well when i needed things. There is lots of assignments. She just was not very nice.
This class is standard no matter what teacher you take it from, the workload will be the same. Professor Vest is understanding and a strong communicator. She responds quickly to emails and even provides her cell.
Not great at communicating for a comm professor. Contacted several times with questions from quizzes (where I selected correct answer in book but still got it wrong) and she never fixed the problem for me. Tough grader. Several projects that will put you far out of your comfort zone.
I wouldn't recommend this class. Not now, not later, not ever. For being a communications teacher she doesn't do well with being a great communicator. She doesn't really help so get prepared to fend for yourself. Also, wayyy too many assignments as if we don't have other classes to focus on as well. Find a better professor and if you have her, GL.
I really liked taking communication online with this professor. As all online classes, there are lots of discussions, but there is not that much needed to do. You really do learn and it is beneficial. At the end, there is a big presentation video that is your final it can be nerve-racking, but she is a great professor and makes the class enjoyable.
SO. MUCH. WORK. This professor barely does anything and you Just follow course material. Can be a tough grader. 3 big projects: interview w/ a stranger, group project and public speech with 5 people. There's a ton of quizzes and discussions. Total is 57 various Assignments, discussions, projects. THANK GOODNESS ITS OVER. Teisha isn't too helpful.
The worst part of this class is the group projects you have to do and trying to get students who are taking an online class to try and facetime with to do an assignment done. The teacher was a great help! I definitely did not enjoy the class but, it was an easy A
I enjoyed this class and Professor Vest is awesome. There is a lot of work and group participation, however, it's not difficult as long as you put effort. Glad I took this, class definitely improved my communication skills.
Decent amount of homework but most of it is easy if you learn the material. She isn't super involved but all the material is available for you to learn at your own pace. Once you actually do the hard assignments (interview, presentations) they aren't that bad. The calendar was very organized and assignments are broken down into chunks.
This is the 2nd time I've taken COMM and this professor was much better. There is LOTS of busy work and basic discussion boards. The work is easy but time-consuming. There's a final group project that was somewhat difficult but overall I would say this is a basic comm class. The professor was good about emails but her instructions were kinda vague
The material itself was fairly easy, however Professor Vest would dock points on the most ridiculous things. She would tell you to use a template for an assignment but then doc you points for actually using the template. Her wording on assignments would make things extremely confusing on what she was actually looking for.
Too many projects and too little time to finish them. Four major projects in this class, and each is worth 20% of your grade. Sometimes you will have 120+ pages of reading you should do before your weekly quiz. The class feels poorly communicated, which is ironic given how much reading we students have had to do to avoid these kinds of things...
Professor Vest was very caring and gave many options on ways to reach her if needed. She provides great feedback on assignments. There are a couple opportunities for extra credit which is really nice. The quizzes are open book which is really nice and the assignments are straight forward.
Professor Vest is great! As long as you read the directions and requirements for assignments, the course I took from her was smooth sailing. I definitely would recommend her to others.
Any communications class is going to have a good amount of work and include a group project but I feel like she made it a breeze with providing clear expectations and feedback with what she is looking for and how to improve if needed. She cares about everyone succeeding and I was able to maintain an A through the semester.
She is very understanding. I had many assignments I had to turn in late because of my busy personal life and she worked with me and helped me out every time. Loved her class.
She is very understanding. I had many assignments I had to turn in late because of my busy personal life and she was very understanding.
My favorite thing about Professor Vest was the feedback that she gave. She was quick to grade and respond to emails. It is a GenEd course so as long as you are paying attention and do the work it is a great class!
Teisha was a great professor! She provided feedback in a timely manner and was always willing to help if needed. The feedback she provided helped me improve my work on new assignments and I really appreciated that. Overall I would take one of her classes again!
She is always very good in the fact that she lets you know how to improve. This course has been good. She is a good teacher and seems like she cares about us.
Professor Vest is very understanding. If you have had a problem or needed a little extension on a paper she was more then happy to help work with you on it. If you have questions, she responds very quick compared to other professors. The instructions on each project were easy to understand and help you get started on projects. Would recommend!
Professor Vest is very respectable and is easy to communicate with if you have questions or are struggling with an assignment. She makes the course worth taking. The group projects are on how you participate and help your group so they are still graded individually which I really like.
I thought that the class was not bad at all the professor graded very well and fairly. Teisha is an excellent professor.
Professor Vest was organized, fair, and supportive. Weekly to-do lists helped to keep me on track. When sick with Covid, she was flexible, helping me catch up. Projects and discussions focused on communication. Her feedback was insightful. Overall, an amazing learning experience. I'd take another course with her and recommend her to others.
Highly recommend Professor Vest. Although there are many assignments, they are not all due at the same time and she gives lots of time between the day it is assigned to the due date. I had assignments where I did not receive full credit, she gave me feedback and allowed me to redo the assignment to get the full credit. Overall a great professor!
Teisha Vest is a great teacher; she is caring, willing to help anytime, and a good communicator, which is important as I took the online class. The workload does seem a little high, but that is standard for any comms class across the board. I would gladly take a class from Ms. Vest again due to the great support she gives.
Overall I think she was a good teacher. She was timely in responses when I reached out, she was clear in her grading and clear with expectations. As long as I read the chapters assigned the work wasn't difficult and I enjoyed getting to work different projects throughout the semester.
Ms. Vest was very helpful and was easily available and great to talk with. She did a great job covering the material and had assignments that were effective tests of the material.
Teisha Vest is an exceptional teacher who truly cares about her students' success. She makes sure that her students feel supported and have all the resources they need to succeed. something I like about her is her availability. She is always willing to answer questions and help her students, whether it's through email, phone, or msg. Shes there 4 u
Teisha Vest was very communicative with me on any issues or concerns that came up within the course, overall the course is simple with a consistent work load. I do feel Teisha is a good instructor, with her level of involvement and communication within the course, helped a lot.
I really enjoyed taking Comm 1010 from Prof. Vest this semester. I felt like she did a good job explaining the material. If I had any issues she was easily accessible and was willing to work with me. I appreciated the feedback she gave me throughout the course as well. I feel as if I'm a better communicator because of this class and Prof. Vest.
She is a fantastic teacher who helps you with whatever you are struggling with, giving you time to turn in work. Understand you if you are going through a hard time and help you with your work or late assignments
Trisha was awesome! She did a great job with our class and is easy to work with and flexible. The instructions for the class were laid out well. You shouldn't have any issues pulling off an A in this class.
I really enjoyed this course. It was easy and she gave great feedback. She also accepts late work and at first the course work seems overwhelming but once you get the hang of it and stay on track, it gets easier.
A good teacher, very lenient and understanding when it comes to late work. Not too much work and very clear with instructions.
Professor Vest was great to work with, the summer semester makes the class a bit condensed but she was willing to work with me on a couple late assignments. Always easy to get in contact with and had answers to any questions I had. The online class was awesome and I wish I could take more classes taught by such a caring professor.
Teisha Vest is a very helpful and understanding instructor who made every effort to let us know she was available if we had any questions or needed help, usually replying in a timely manner. The Gen Ed requirements for the course and the amount of material to get through was tough, but she was with us every step of the way if we needed her.
I really enjoyed taking this communications course from Professor Vest. I ended up learning a lot more than I thought I would because the discussions we had were well thought out and related back to the course material which made it easier to learn the content. An amazing class and an amazing professor. take this course with her if you can!
This professor offers very clear outlines for assignments so there is little confusion on what is expected. She grades very fairly and leniently. She is quick to respond to emails and offers more then a short, quick response. I thoroughly enjoyed her class and found that is was one of the least stressful in terms of professor expectation.
Great class to get back in the swing of things and always willing to help and reply fast when I had questions.
an amazing teacher for many reasons but one reason was the flexibility with coursework and due dates especially with valid reasons. When I would express my issue and provide the coursework, I was not docked any points which she could have easily done, this not only shows her amazing ability as a teacher but shows who she is as a human as well.
This class was very easy to stay on top of. There are lots of mini assignments that do keep you busy but the assignments are not hard. Grading style is easy and not super harsh, I would definitely recommend this course to those who need the class. If you need help she is always willing to help and make the assignments clear if they aren't.
The professor was amazing at being able to explain the assignments well. It never for me was hard to understand the course and the material. The textbook that we use in the class is provided which to me was a very amazing and helpful resource for me. The professor is very generous on what happens in her class. I would take her classes again!
She was a good professor. This was an online class, but she still was good about staying in contact and responding when emailed. This class wasn't too difficult. There are two main projects but neither is awful. The second project was a little rushed, but it was ok. Overall, I would recommend her for COMM1010!
She is an awesome professor and gives a clear explanation on each assignment. She is very well organized and gives great feedback. I would highly recommend taking this class or any other class she may teach.
Professor was really helpful whenever I ran into issues or had questions. The course work is a little heavy and there is a lot expected from you in the class but there is nothing she can do to change that because it is a set course and she just teaches the material that is given. Over all really nice professor.
I really enjoyed taking professor Vest comm 1010 course and she was an amazing professor! There are quite a bit of assignments but there was plenty of time to complete them. There are a lot of extra credit opportunities. The professor was very understanding and responds to emails quickly which is something that was really helpful especially.
Professor Vest was an amazing professor! I really enjoyed taking her class she explained the assignments well and although there were a lot we had plenty of time to complete them and were easy assignments. She responded to emails fast and gave good feedback especially on projects! there are a lot of extra credit opportunities!
Teisha Vest was wonderful, she was easy to speak with and always responded. She had materials that applied to the course and were easy to understand. Since this class is online, the most communication you will receive it what you initiate, although she is very good at reminding you to leave your peer comments at the beginning of the course.
Professor Vest provides detailed assignments of what is to be expected in her assignments. She is prompt, organized and provides great feedback on your assignments. As long as you try and submit your assignments on time you'll receive a fair grade. She responds to emails very quickly. She is very understanding and amazing as an online professor!
She is a wonderful teacher who was always prepared to answer any questions or concerns I had, and would typically message back within a few hours. COMM 1010 was very heavy with the workload, and the grading was a bit weird, but she can't control that. As an instructor she was kind, helpful, and very understanding in all aspects!
The Prof. demonstrated clear grading criteria with many examples, which was appreciated. However, feedback on assignments varied, with some lacking detail and others completely absent. Regular, constructive feedback would enhance the course's value and support growth in communication skills.
Professor Vest clearly outlines every project, assignment, and reading expectation. She is fair in her grading, accepting of late work, and provides feedback. I struggled to communicate on my end, but the professor herself was always available and swift in communicating. I would take another one of her classes in the future.
Great professor! She graded all assignments in a timely manner and provided feedbacks which helped me get an idea on how to complete the major assignments. She provided excellent communication through out the semester informing students of upcoming deadlines or tips on how to complete upcoming assignments. I would take her course again.
Very clear about assignments and always gives feedback for improvement. Class is online but there are group projects. Overall, class is easy if you do the reading and stay on track.
Yes the professor was very helpful and she was very sweet and a nice person I would love to take this course again and work with her again in future she is very amazing and very helpful
She did great in providing textbook context for online class. Some area's I wish had more details with it. We had to write journals for certain section topics and it was tough to write a 400 word journal with limited information when she wanted us to cite our work. But overall a good class to take for Gen Ed!
The class is straight forward and easy, the only difficult aspect is the workload at times , not the difficulty of it, but the length. Sometimes it feels redundant or just simply unnecessary to assign. However, she offers extra credit throughout, is understanding, and the course is easy if you stay on top of it. Would recommend!
Workload heavy at time., but the work is easy. She is a fast grader and gives actual feedback on assignments. Would recommend I found the class to be very easy and for the most part low effort.
The course work can be kind of repetitive and common-knowledge at times. There is a lot of pointless assignments (why am I writing a paper about architecture?). The teacher didn't teach so much as the textbook did, but she was a quick grader and left good feedback.
I liked Teisha Vest, she gave pretty good feedback and replied in a timely manner and was helpful. However, I feel like her rubrics are a little vague and for full points they might say you need to "exceed the basic requirements". There is a group project at the end, but that's required for all Comm1010 classes, as is the presentation for 5 people.
I loved taking this course. The assignments and textbook readings were so interesting and easy to find. She used great teaching skills and always wanted to help with improvement during the course time. I would take the class again without a doubt.
There was a fair amount of reading, but it was not excessive. Clear, fair outlines that make it easy to do well on assignments. She has a grace period before the late policy kicks in, which is very kind. Stay on top of your assignments and you will do great. :)
Ms. Vest was so easy to communicate with. I took her class as an online class and she would respond within 24 hours of a question I would have. She would clearly state what was expected of us for each assignment. I would totally take another course from her again.
I liked Professor Vest. I knew that if I reached out to her there would be feedback or answers to my questions. She doesn't reach out too much herself, so it is up to you to do so. But I felt like since it's a generalized class she did well at presenting the necessary criteria for assignments and being there if we needed help getting something done
She is such a great teacher and always provides feedback on my work. She is an easy grader and she replies fast to any messages she gets. This class is project heavy but that is just what is required for the course. There are lots of assignments so the points for the class are easy to get.
She is very responsive and available to answer your questions and works with you to help you succeed. She gives good feedback and is understanding. There is a lot of reading for the class but that is normal for communication courses. The class online structure and modules are easy to follow and there are a lot of opportunities for extra credit!
Took COMM1010 online and it pretty easy. Just be prepared to do a final group project. Overall, it was a good course.
She is a bit of a tough grader on the big assignments like the Culture Speech and the main group assignment. Other than that, she grades things generously and is pretty lenient with late work. The Culture Speech assignments and group project are a huge portion of your grade so take them seriously. Overall, I'd recommend taking this course.
Loved the feedback. She really took the time to read what you wrote.
This professor was great with communication as well as ensuring material was taught appropriately and effectively. The course is tough, and I recommend making sure you do not fall behind. The group project during the course was one of the best experiences I've had working with a group, so there was not many worries going through that section.
She is inconsistent with her grading. Her rubric is put together where you can't get 100% unless you go "above and beyond" the assignment. I got 100's on pretty much everything but feel like she expects too much from a 1010 class. I also felt like she would randomly decide to not give me 100 on an assignment even when I met all of the guidelines.
Her introduction to us for the course made her feel a little unapproachable so I was hesitant when I had to reach out. She does work with late work but has a TON to read!! The prompts/assignments aren't totally clear 99% of the time so you just have to wing it & hope for good feedback. Pretty easy if you just try your best & read all the chapters.
I really enjoyed this class and the teacher was very kind and easy going!
I liked this professor because she was able to give me clear feedback when I emailed her about certain things going on in the class!
The feedback she gives is really helpful and clearly lays out what you need to do in order to improve the scores you get on each assignment or reflection. Some of the reading is really dense and it may be tough to keep everything soaked up. The good news is you don't need to. Just commit a few topics to memory and then apply those to your own life
Amazing and super fun class. Pushed me out of my comfort zone which I appreciate. 10/10 would recommend!! Super amazing teacher!
Good class, do your readings and weekly assignments you'll be fine.
Teisha Vest, was absolutely amazing. She was understanding and always answered my questions. She was concerned about me, when I had some health issues. If you do the work, you will get a good grade! work was not hard at all.
I rarely waited more then 48 hours to receive grading and constructive feedback on assignments. This effort alone, in my opinion, qualifies Professor Vest for a 5 star rating as I have often not received any grading or feedback in online courses at the Salt Lake Community College prior to the end of a semester.
Professor Vest was always responsive and willing to help or clarify. Very fair with grading and the class was very smooth. The work load was very manageable and the material was easy to digest. Lots of extra credit opportunities and I really appreciated that. She's really awesome. Assignments were simple. Would definitely take her class again!
Teisha Vest was a great instructor. She has a ton of experience and that is clear in her teaching style and quality of feedback on assignments. She does use a textbook but it's a really good one (easy to read, learned a lot) and it's FREE, so that's nice. The work done in class is valuable and makes sense, it doesn't feel like busy work.
Professor Vest's teaching style immediately drew me in, hands-off but always available to answer questions and flexible with turning in late work. The course was very much a "you get out what you put in" if you do the work, you'll pass without issue. Excellent first class after not going to school for 10+ years.
Professor Vest is knowledgeable and responds well to individual messages. She is very willing to help you succeed, by offering good feedback on assignments. A lot of reading and writing assignments, but she makes available step by step study guides to assist you. Listen to her suggestions, especially keeping up on the weekly assignments.
Very prompt communication and grading. Lenient due-dates. She was willing to help with assignment clarification, and helped set-up the group projects.
Was helpful when reaching out for help
good teacher
The professor is very good at listening and helping you out for anything you need. The professor gives helpful information that goes into detail over the material.
if you read the rubric for every assignment, you are golden. Assignments are clear. make sure you read and reread if needed. Teisha gives great feedback on assignments, and you can tell she wants to see you succeed and gives every opportunity for you to grow.
Professor Vest is one of the best professors I've had! Her online class is super organized and the assignments are clear and she is on top of grading! There is a lot of reading, be prepared! She definitely cares about her students succeeding and provides many opportunities for you too! I loved that she offered extra credit! Highly recommend!
Prof. Vest did a good job of providing feedback on your assignments and was a pretty lax grader. The communication course itself had an unbearably boring textbook that was outdated and a speech assignment that was hard to present to an audience since it was an online class. Overall, any of the other assigned work was easy to complete. Easy class.
Teisha Vest is a fair and engaging professor. The workload is manageable, and her feedback is helpful. I found Unstuckstudy's study resources really useful for this class. Overall, a solid 1010 course.
Class was relatively easy, just required a lot of reading. A big part of the class was the group project, which didn't go very smoothly and instructions could be more clear.
This professor is very forgiving with late work. all of the assignments can be applied to real life.
She is a professor who is always willing to help her students. English is my second language, and I felt that every instruction was clear. Whenever I had questions, I could ask, and her responses were always really fast. I took this class online, and I appreciated how accessible and supportive she was.
Teisha Vest was an amazing online professor, was very easy to reach out if I had any questions/concerns. Made all expectations clear and gave good feedback on assignments. Very easy and enjoyable class
Professor is great—very understanding with late work and always checks in with students. The modules are clear, organized, and easy to follow.
Teisha Vest has to be one of the best teachers I've had. She provides great feedback, and is very reasonable when grading. She goes above and beyond to help our her students! Turn around time on grading is 24 hours or less which was ideal to me since I was always got anxious about my grade. You can always count on her response when in question!
Teisha Vest was an amazing COMM 1010 professor. I fell behind, but she gave me a chance to catch up. She's patient, gives helpful feedback, and grades generously. Don't stress about the group project especially online. It's very manageable and a great way to meet classmates. I highly recommend taking her class!
Mrs. Vest has an extremely well designed course. She is accommodating and very understanding. I would absolutely recommend her and would take another class of hers. She really wants everyone to succeed and gives you every opportunity to do so.
She is awesome! She really cares about her students and wants them to succeed. She is clear with assignments and grading.
There is quiet a few assignments in this class but just read the material and stay up to date on assignments and you will be fine. She does except late work, Teisha is a great teacher I would recommend taking her class.
She was amazing professor and very nice she helped a lot. gives good feedback.
