Quizzes and tests are difficult. A huge group project in access that will teach you a tremendous amount about working with access. If you want to learn IT take Ow, but don't take his class if you want an easy time of it.

One of the best professors at Marquette. Yes the workload is heavy but it is worth it because it helps you learn. Project with Access, make sure you choose your group wisely. If you read the book, you can pass the quizzes. Same goes for tests - the hw exercises help with those extremely. must be willing to spend time to do the work in this class.

Professor Ow is awesome! He knows his stuff (has 5 or 6 degrees, I think), knows how to prepare you for the "real world," and has a great sense of humor. He can a little difficult to understand at times, though, and for those unfamiliar to database design and technology, INTE 3001 will be a bit of a challenge.

This database class is very organized. Professor Ow gives handouts for taking notes on each lecture, you can understand things well by just paying attention in class. For the exams, READ THE TEXTBOOK around 60% of every exam will come from there. We had 3 exams, around 9 quizzes which were pretty easy, a good amount of homework, and a big project which could be done in pairs.

Dr. Ow is one of the best professors I have had at Marquette. He cares about his students and therefore has high expectations, because of this I have never learned more in a semester. If you have the opportunity to take his class I highly recommend! There are poor ratings on here - these are from students that did not put in the time/work.

One of the best profs I've had! He takes the time to explain complex concepts in detail. He truly cares about his students. He does encourage us to become IS majors, and his teaching sets you up for success if you pursue IS. He makes the content really interesting and makes you want to come to class. Definitely will have to put in effort to pass.

Dr. Ow is one of the best professors I've had at Marquette. His demanding intro course prepares you for success. He's not a top 50 undergrad professor for nothing. Show up, pay attention, and do your work, and you'll be fine. If you want to be lazy, take another professor, but you won't learn anything. Get your tuition's worth and take Dr. Ow.

READ THE BOOK. It will help you on your exams so much. He's a tough guy, but if you want to get into INSY, he's a must-have professor. He will set you up to win. You cannot memorize in this class, you have to understand the material.
