She is new this semester. I have her for CAS 301. So far, she is great! She's pretty, nice and seems to go out of her way to help her students pass the class. I was nervous about taking this class cuz I heard it was a hard class, but Teresa makes it easy to understand. She is very approachable. She cracks little jokes which keep you intersted
Teresa is an awesome teacher! She is so cute, she looks like a student. Don't let her youth fool you. She is very intelligent! She is so helpful with making sure you understand all of the info in the book and on the tests. The content of the class is a lot of work, but Teresa makes this class more interesting, easy to understand, and even cracks som
nice person and tries her best to be helpful, however, can't recommend her for this class..does not prepare well enough for the department final..cas 301 is a difficult class..a more experienced teacher is recommended..
Great teacher!!! Helps you every step of the way!!
this class isn't easy, but the professor helps you so much if you have any difficulties, there's no reason you won't pass the class. if you want an a, read the lessons before lecture and take detailed notes. she even does test reviews with you. even though she doesn't prepare you for the department final very well, she grades you fairly.
ok soo basically shes a nice lady and yada yada however shes very new to the game of teaching and honestly is very very very disorganized she just writes sloppy notes on the board and she isnt easy to follow..she dsoent know how to do powerpoint and when she does it isnt any better! her study guides are NOTHING like the test....too new of a teacher
The best overall. Really cares about her students and helping them learn.
Professor Alonso is awesome! She expects you to participate in class and read every chapter, so if you want an easy A, then take someone else. Alonso is energetic and encourages you to think outside the box! Great teacher!!
She is very nice and sweet and Very knowledgeable, but cannot teach! Her lectures are very boring, basially reading off the book. Not even half of the things she tells us to study for are even on the exams! Know EVERYTHING in details for the exams! After taking her as an intro to CAS, it makes me NOT want to be a CAS major anymore!
a very sweet professor, but when it comes down to her teaching, she truely does take most time reading the book, but even if you do not read thte book but you do attend to class, you probably have an averageC in class
She was in a serious car accident towards the end of the semester, so we had a substitute. We missed her very much. I learned a lot.Don't be tardy too much or absence and read every chapter in the book! When she reads fromthe book during lectures sometimes, pay close attention because it's most likely going to be on the test!
she was not organized but knows what shes talking about. very juvenile assignments.
she was my first professor with my new CAS major and my experience in her class has made me look forward to all the ones to come. she very kick back, chill type of professor... she's UNDERSTANDS her students and our everyday problems which was VERY VERY helpfull. Effort and participation help your grade a lot!
GREAT GREAT GREAT PROFESSOR. She is very helpful and knows what she is talking about, she can relate to us so easily which makes the class so much easier and interesting.
She's a great teacher considering the course. She really knows what she's taking about and makes everything easy. I was worried about taking this class, but she's awesome. She's also really funny and extremely helpful if you need it.
She is one of the best teachers I have ever taken! Reading, attendence, and no late work is critical. I have taken her twice, and would definitely take her again.
She is great!!! I loved her class..She always explains everything in detail and tells you exactly what to study for. Very helpful she will work with you so you can pass her class, she cares!! I would love to take her again she was very helpful and her class was fun.
Teresa is so down to earth and fun. She's an amazing person and tries to keep class entertaining because she knows it's boring. She uses Powerpoint and posts them on blackboard. A lot of in class things but totally worth taking her class :]
took professor landeros last semester. i am now a CAS major. she is very helpful, great personality. never a dull moment in class. very organized and expects your participation in class. take her! you won't regret it. you will learn so much.
Annoying? OMG so not true. We understood everything she said just fine. Rater is probably mad cause he/she didn't pass the class ha! ha! Liked the class and Professor Landeros
I actully just took child 10 at Mtsac with her. She was awesome! I recommend if she's teaching it, take her class, whatever it is.
Wow! this professor is incredible. she is passionate about what she does and her classes are interactive so participation is a must. She is inspiring and great person all around. Learned about how children develop and their psychology and how important families are. TAKE HER!
Mrs. Landeros is SO sweet. Loved her class because she was always full of energy & you could tell she loves what she does. If wanting to be a CHAD major, I definitely recommend her as a professor. She really gives life to the class and makes every lecture fun. LOVED this class! Book & attendance are mandatory as she gives and takes points for both!
i never fully understood what she was talking about because she would always go off topic about her life and past experience. all i wanted was to have a crystal clear lecture on the terms of this course considering im a CHAD major but instead i just learned about her life. but this class was fairly easy and she was a nice lady
Professor Landeros made this class interesting. We watched videos and she posted powerpoints online for each chapter which really helped. She gives plenty of examples that you can relate to so you can better understand lectures. Participation is important. She is awesome and inspiring and she really cares. You can tell she loves what she does.
She is not just an amazing professor but she's a great person too. I learned so much in this class on temperament. She gives you different assignments to accommodate to students' learning styles and she wants to you to succeed! She inspired me so much and worked with me to help me pass!! Thank you Professor Landeros!!!!!
all I wanted to do was graduate already but this class and Teresa inspired me and now I'm applying for the credential program. you won't regret taking her. She really cares and you can tell she loves teaching and helping you
She's funny which makes class go by fast. She REALLY cares about each student. She has high expectations because she believes you can. You have to read weekly chapters. She gives out extra credit for participation. Overall great professor! Took her once before and glad I took my last class as a CAS major with her.
Professor Landeros is a very sweet lady. She definitely has the personality of an amazing professor. However, be aware of the final exam. The study guide she provides is useless & misleading. She does not prepare you for the department final at all. 5 weeks were spent on presentations that don't impact your grade. Very disappointing!
Excellent teacher. Presentations were fun and was very lenient in grading them. Some people up there were so boring but we all mostly earned an A on them. Attendance is important as she gives and takes away points for them but just show up and she will give you an A for them. Would definitely take her again.
I was disappointed in this class-the class presentations took 5 weeks and I would have preferred lecture to learn the material we were tested on. One hard final counts for over half your grade-study guide is misleading. I wish I would have taken this subject with another instructor.
She gives extra credit. There are a lot of class activities and she basically gives you the points if you show up. Posts power points online which is really helpful. Great professor and treats you like a human being.
Professor Landeros is funny and so nice!! This class is boring plus hard but she helps you understand it and gives extra credit. Read your chapters plus she post PowerPoints for each online. Ask her if you feel lost because this class is hard and she will help you understand it!!
I'm not a CHAD major but seriously considering it as a minor now because of this class. This professor is amazing! I looked forward to coming to class. She makes you believe in yourself. Take her!
Professor Landeros makes you want to come to class. She gives out extra credit points for participation. Two observations, three exams, some group work plus she grades fairly. You will need to read if you want to do real good on the exams. Would definitely take her again.
Very nice lady and love how she makes the material interesting. Be prepared to read the book for the 3 exams. 1 observation and 2 interviews. Love her and would take her class again
Teresa is so sweet and funny! I love her sassy attitude! Love that I have her for my capstone course. She is very clear with her directions and just wants us all to pass, but she does grade fairly at the same time. Does drafts of the senior paper, so she can see how far along you are in your research. One presentation as well. TAKE HER IF YOU CAN!!
The subject was interesting and the professor portrayed it well; however, the tests were a bit confusing because the questions would come from outside sources or be very specific. The tests were still manageable, but it was frustrating because the questions seemed off. She gave out so much extra credit and so many points just for showing up.
She goes out of her way to help you succeed in her class. She wants you to pass. Gives out extra credit for participation and just for showing up to class. It's obvious she loves teaching.
Teresa is such a down to earth professor! She genuinely cares about her students and wants them to succeed. She is super clear on her grading criteria and is always willing to help if you ask. There were only 3 exams, and 1 paper/group project/group presentation wrapped into one. She takes attendance and give out points for it and gives some EC
She is a great teacher for an intro course, three exams, one observation paper (only 30 points) pretty easy, and ICA's- in class activities worth like 70% of your grade so you have to be present. The last two tests were pretty difficult so buy the text book! She really cares about her students and she's sooo funny.
Prof Landeros was a nice professor be involved participation is big in this class. There's a paper due, but it's easy three tests and like I said participation.
Dr. Landeros is a very sweet and passionate professor. Her lectures are simple and engaging. However, the difficulty of her lectures do not match the difficulty of her exams. Her exams are very specific and textbook heavy and she has to dramatically curve the scores so that the class doesn't fail. Prepare to teach yourself and read the textbook.
Her lectures do not match her test. If you want to earn an A you need to memorize the textbook word for word. She pulls out random sentences out of the textbook and puts it on the test. I would never take her again even if she was the only professor. Dont take her. A students will become B or C students. I was one point away from a B
Professor Landeros is hilarious plus she cares a lot. I actually looked forward to coming to class each week and it was a night class. I want to get into the credential program & she took the time to write me a letter of recommendation. Her tests are hard but I read the book, came to class each week and earned an A. Highly recommended
Read the chapters. Take notes and ask questions in class. Attendance and reading is required. She will post the power points online and she gives the class a study guide. Her lectures are amazing and inspirational! Shes a nice lady and gives out extra credit for participation too.
Prof. Landeros cares a lot about her students! If you need help, I encourage you to go and ask her during office hours. Class exams are heavily based on the textbook, so read to study. However, her worksheets were very helpful for the final department exam.
Professor Landeros made an effort to show the students she cared about them. I felt like I couldn't have done as well in the class without her encouragement. The only thing about this class is that you have to read the textbook because the exams have questions based from the reading.
Barely any assignments and always changed due dates / simplified directions of assignments to make it easier on the students. Id take her again. Minimal effort and youll get an A
Class is easy but here's the thing, she is very unorganized and has unclear expectations. She went back and forth on almost every assignment. Even if you write a whole extra page, she has standard feedback "missing details". I'm so frustrated because my grade is being affected for no reason at all. Don't take her if you like clarity in your class
This is one of the best professors I've ever taken. You can tell she cares for her students and works with the class to find suitable solutions if there is any issues with the time frame of an assignment. There is a group project that you must work with near the end of class, I got lucky and had an awesome group. I will be taking her in fall!!!
Professor Landeros was flexible with project due dates but she can be rude at times. One big group project/presentation and a lot of time was spent in groups. Her tests are pretty easy but her grading is a bit confusing and unfair. Class average was a B+.
If you need this class, take this professor because it's a hard class and she will go the extra mile to help you understand the material. She wants all her students to succeed. She responds to emails quickly. Overall you can tell she really cares about all her students.
This is my 2nd time taking this class. I had so much difficulty learning with previous professor. Prof. Landeros goes above and beyond to help her students be successful. She makes sure that everyone is learning his material
She taught us nothing. I got nothing from the class. When finals came I was so confused because what she taught was not on the final.
This class is sooo hard!! I wouldnt recommend taking it online. But if you have to, this professor is the best!!! She will help you understand it. Read the book, ASK QUESTIONS!. She responds quick to emails and wants us to succeed
Professor Landeros is funny and cares. The class material is boring but she teaches it in a way that makes it relatable. She has Zoom office hours but will meet you at other times if you cant make those hours. She post the rubrics for each assignment online so you know how she breaks down the points for them.
The class is ridiculously difficult but Teresa breaks it down so you can understand it. A lot of lab assignments based on reading the book and a long paper.
I had her before for CAS 201 loved it online received a B and decided to take her for CAS 301 Online she becomes strict for that class I really don't know why lol. Honestly take her online for CAS 301 even if she is strict, cause honestly I always showed up on time, for the Midterm and Final Hard. I literally passed with a C overall in her class.
She did require us to meet for lab and lecture. Very upfront. You want to participate in her class, especially this one. I think it's important to participate because it helps you learn the material. She does review expectations a few times and what she requires so she will doc down points on what she already explained (essays)
Overall great class. Total of 10 quizzes, 5 group discussion, chapter readings & outlines, midterm/final, senior paper, & oral presentation. She made us do 2 pages of the senior paper every week so you won't procrastinate with the 12 page paper which was helpful overall. A bit condescending at times but great professor, definitely recommend.
Professor Landeros is the best at CSUF! The way she breaks down the research paper into weekly assignments helped me a lot! This was my second time taking this class so I was afraid of not passing again. She will go the extra mile to help you!! The quizzes are a bit difficult. Read the chapters if you want to do good on them.
She had a book we took quizzes from so make sure to read it. She is very clear, I know some people thought she was blunt or rude, but she wasn't some questions people asked she had already given the answer to, or it was on the syllabus. She encouraged us to write our papers throughout the semester and we had time to meet with our peers and ask "?"
This class is hard! There are a group of girls who have side conversations and it made it difficult to listen. The professor had to often tell them to stop talking. It was annoying. READ the book! Ask professor Teresa if you need help because she will go out of her way to help you learn the material!
omg. DONT pick this professor. she expects you to read the full lengthy chapter of the entire textbook every week and asks the most specific questions for the in person quizzes. the final is NOTHING LIKE THE CLASS. there were three weeks until the final and she strted scrambling to teach us stuff that was NEVER mentioned during the semester. SO BAD
She was awesome! This is my second time taking this class and professor landeros made the info so clear and she goes over the material a lot to really make sure we got it. She truly wants people to pass and she breaks down material as much as you may need. She does talk a lot which can get annoying but overall she was a fair and caring teacher
This is a HARD class. You have to read a lot and there's a weekly quiz. It was me second time taking the course and this time I passed thanks to this professor. She will listen and help you! I wasSO scared I wasn't going to pass again. She breaks down the Literature review assignment and this is what helped me pass the class!! Take her!!!
Professor Landeros excels in relating theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios. In her CAS classes, we frequently analyze current events and case studies, which helps us understand how the theories we learn apply in practical situations.
the material in this class is pretty difficult as is and I don't feel like she utilized class time well to thoroughly teach topics. The actual lecture activities and two major papers due in the class were simple. The weekly quizzes, exams, and final are hard. If you do well on your own and teach yourself everything this may be the prof 4 u
The class isn't nearly as difficult as she tells you it is going to be. Be sure not to miss class because she gives out a bunch of participation points. She gives you a practice exam for the final and we do it together. I went to her office hours each week and she answers emails quickly. If you need this class to pass, this is the prof 4 u.
My second time taking this class!! Finally passed it! She will make you laugh. Took her as a night class so that really helped. I will be taking her again in the spring.
BEST PROFESSOR EVER!!!
Friendly and accessible. You can get the textbook online. I never read it. She post slides online. My second time taking her and it was a hard class. First time was CAS 201. Loved that class but this is required class so highly recommend to take it with Professor Landeros!
Two papers, weekly quizzes with chapter review discussions and write ups. Didn't understand why we needed it but professor Teresa shows us why. She reviews the information each week. If you miss a quiz, she will drop it. Very helpful.
Terrific professor! Took this class before and didn't pass it. I had to go to her office hours each week. One thing, the weekly quizzes are hard. If you don't read the textbook, you will be lost. Other than that, she is very fair and understanding. The class assignments are clear and she reviews everything in class.
She breaks everything down so you understand it. She posts APA info online to help you. Didn't get the textbook and I did ok on the quizzes but yeah you should read it. I would definitely take her again.
The research paper has to be at least six pages long. We do an outline for it in class. Ask if you have questions. It was easy to follow along. Highly recommended if you need this class.
It's professors like her that make me not want to continue this major.
This CAS teacher brings an infectious enthusiasm to every lecture. Her deep understanding of child development makes complex theories easily understandable. Highly recommend, but this class requires effort.
PROFESSOR LANDEROS SHOULD BE THE STANDARD MODEL OF WHAT ALL PROFESSORS SHOULD STRIVE TO BE. HER DEDICATION TO HER STUDENTS AND PROFESSIONALISM IS UNMATCHED. THE WAY SHE EDUCATES HER STUDENTS TO UNDERSTAND THE MATERIAL IS SIMPLY REFRESHING. I HOPE MY FUTURE PROFESSORS ARE A TENTH OF WHAT PROFESSOR LANDEROS IS. HOPE TO HAVE HER AS A PROFESSOR AGAIN.
Her teaching and tone was condescending during lectures. Always making it seem like she was going out of her way to make it easier for us. She would always talk about how her students love her and no one ever failed her class. She would also call people out during class if they didn't do something. Overall, I just really would not take her again.
She's an AMAZING professor!! Cares about her students. I felt heard and comfortable in her class The content is very difficult but this professor makes it easy to understand. She reviews information a lot and responds quickly to emails. You need this class with CAS 300 but she doesn't teach that class.
The material is very difficult. She makes it a little digestible but her canvas is unorganized. she said the final was mainly multiplechoice, but it was actually more short answer. i went the whole semester with a B but failed the final & failed the class. wouldn't recommend her. wasn't helpful & put students on the spot during class at times.
It was my second time taking this class. She grades you fairly not just on exams and gives you examples for the assignments. She does a practice exam for the dept. final. I attended the exam reviews on Zoom she shared in class. All this helped me so much in passing this class! Highly recommend her!!!
