Very good prof. Keeps class interesting, hands out detailed notes. Good system of notes - posted on WebCT, bring them to class and fill them out. Easy tests if you prepare. She is willing to help if you need it.

Simply amazing.....wonder why they don't pay her as much as those other clowns in the accounting department. Simply Sad.10/10

Tess is the most amazing Prof ever! She knows her stuff, can explain obscure concepts with real life, relevant examples, and is always around if you need help. The night before our final, she was on the discussion board all night answering questions. Make sure to get into Tess's section! She's great

Tess is an excellent prof. She explains all of the material well, and only goes over the information that will be on the exam. Tess is readily available and eager to help students. Highly recommended.

Easy to do well if you actually listen in class. Study with Book + study guide is VERY helpful. The practice questions in it are the same as her exam basically

Best professor I had all year. Her lectures are very organized and she follows along her outline very well. She includes all relevant material and makes it interesting considering she is teaching intro micro/macro economics. Easily approachable if you are having problems.

By far the BEST Prof I have had thus far at Dalhousie! I never really enjoyed economics until I was in Dr. Cyrus' class. If you get the chance to be in her class - DO IT you wont regret it! Sweetest lady ever!!

Great Prof. Really light hearted and fun. Kept the class interesting with stories. Her slides and notes are some of the better ones in Econ. If you are going to attend class, try to get her. She helps clarifies anything you don't understand.

She was fantastic! Was always well-prepared, enthusiastic and engaged in the material. Consistently made the class interesting and fun. Every prof should take a page from her teaching style.

Good teacher, she tends to mumble at the end of her sentences. But very nice lady and better then the other ECON profs.

By far my favorite prof at Dal! She is sweet and really wants to help students succeed. I was dreading taking Economics but she made everything so easy and she explained all the concepts super clearly when I went to her office. She even gave me a reference and I was to tears when I read the nice things she said. You won't regret having her.

Amazing prof, strangely arousing in lectures haha. Super good at explaining the course material and sets you up for success. Got an easy A+ from macro and an A in micro (intro ones). Very helpful out of class, assignments are straight forward. A couple of ambiguous questions on the exam, you have to dumb it down to understand them. GET THIS PROF!

Amazing professor..my favorite thus far. She is super helpful and anytime I've emailed her a question she's responded quickly with a lengthy response. She made me enjoy economics much more and you should definitely try and get her as your prof! (:

Tess is a wonderful, kind and helpful professor. She knows her subject matter on an expert level. I wish I could take another class with her, if I had time. She is extremely fair, and one important thing - she treats everyone equally and doesn't choose favourites. A lovely person who I highly recommend. Her class is not easy, but you'll learn a lot

phenomenal prof. First economics course ever and I'm taking another next semester. Not even a requirement for my major, I just love Tess that much!

Tess is the best prof on campus by far. Between her crystal clarity in lectures and quick response when you require help, she is a true Dalhousie gem. Beware of the 50% must-pass final exams however- the only real downfall of both semesters of this class.

Great professor, very hard exam

Very good prof especially for first year Econ. She is clearly passionate about the subject so I took this second year course with her. Be very careful there is a lot of assumed stats knowledge. In our year and the year before she made a midterm that was two difficult and had to back off on the final. Our average was about a 54.

Great prof. Knows her material cold, and very helpful when you need one-on-one help. Fair but not easy marking.

This professor is the best for teaching Micro Economics! She is fantastic! She even plays games during her lectures for you to understand certain concepts. e.g. She made someone eat Tim-bits for marginal utility. Her lectures are very interesting and you take notes very well! She is just great!

Fantastic teacher who makes her own notes on the important material with lots of examples. Those notes helped me finish with an A after getting a 64% on the midterm.

Tess is very passionate with her work. Her customized class notes are extremely clear and much more preferable than the common use of PowerPoints. Very easily approachable and is willing to help out. Responds to emails quickly. She goes over assignments in class and gives away helpful tips (and sometimes the answers!)Course work is not easy though

Really funny! Even the exam questions can be funny! She goes over all assignments in class making them simple, and she uses her own notes and examples, which is nice. The course is really easy, so having a good professor is just a bonus!

Fantastic prof. Explains everything really clearly, gives you "fill in the blank" notes at the start of the year, and even gives hints regarding the homework assignments on occasion. The fact that you can put 3 names on assignment doesn't hurt either. If you can handle graphs and high school math, this is an easy credit.

T. Cyrus is the best prof. She makes lectures so entertaining that I don't even find myself glancing at the time, I'm actually surprised when class is over. The midterms are made by all the econ profs but her questions are always straightforward. She's an excellent instructor. If you're first year commerce, definitely try to get into her class!

Exceptional prof. She is hilarious and relates all the terms to real-word situations to make the concept easier to grasp. Would highly recommend any of her classes.

Amazing professor. By far the best Economics prof at Dal. I always had friends with other profs asking for notes from Cyrus's class because they are comprehensive and easy to understand. She is very entertaining and makes Econ easy to understand. Attending her class makes this class so much easier!

Cyrus is AMAZING. If you're going to take this course make sure to take it with her. Her lectures are very easy to follow along and she makes notes that will save your grade. She's also incredibly approachable, funny and really wants her students to do well. Highly recommend!

Professor Cyrus is incredible! Her notes are beyond helpful, and it is obvious she really goes the extra mile to help her students understand the material. That being said, attending class is absolutely necessary. But it is fun!

Professor Cyrus is an amazing prof. Her notes are comprehensive and very helpful, and her upbeat teaching and attitude keep you active in lectures. She cares about your understanding and will take time to help you out. She makes econ seem very easy. That being said, if you like spending tuition to not show up to class, you might have a bad time.

if you are taking it as an elective, it won't be easy. Tips are useful, but it only make sure you pass. Good result is not guarantee if you study only her study guide. Also, there are writing assignment everyweek. For the assignment, you will have to go to the tutorial and read the literatures in order to get a high score.

Very engaging lectures from a smart, hard-working prof. ECON1101: Textbook wasn't terribly helpful, but you must purchase myeconlab, pearson's interactive online thingamabob. PRO TIP: after using the "study plan" function on myeconlab I got 100% on all my quizzes

The lectures could be a little dry but her notes are amazing which makes tests and quizzes very easy.

Cyrus is great. She's (mostly) pretty funny, has great notes, and is great at explaining things. She also fixed my midterm grade after the TAs screwed it up. I would recommend her to anyone, even if they don't think economics is for them.

Generally an amazing prof. Explained everything effectively yet concisely. Nothing really mindblowing or mind-expanding from her course, but she was as engaging as she needed to be. Assignments and exams were fairly easy. Made plenty of notes and review materials available. Would recommend.

Cyrus is awesome. She's super easy going and has a very cheesy sense of humor. Lectures are enjoyable to go to and are very understandable.

Tess is a really amazing professorclear speaking and simple notes with more detail given in the lectures. She also responds quickly. Worth going to class to hear her 2-cents. Love how she gets pumped up talking about econ as it makes me feel like less of a nerd when I get excited about graphs. Totally take her if you can.

This professor was one of the first I received in university, and her class was an amazing experience. She is always extremely engaged and radiates positivity no matter what. She was always extremely kind when answering questions whether it was or wasn't about coursework. I wish she could be my prof for every class.

Great prof overall. Very consistent with course content (weekly quiz and weekly assignment) available the same day of the week, every week and she always has clear expectations. Cyrus handled the switch to online classes like an absolute pro. She isn't afraid to admit when she has made a mistake and always offers fair solutions. 10/10 prof.

I actually love going to her class because shes super passionate about the material and wants her students to do well. Her grading is also very fair and if you go to lecture youll do just fine. Professor Cyrus was one of the first professors I had and she is by far my favourite. She cares a lot about her students well-being and wants to make things as easy and attainable as possible. I would absolutely want to have her again.

Cyrus was a great prof, and made Econ an engaging course. There is weekly quizzes and assignments, but if you go over the study plan, the questions are literally the exact same in the assignment. When midterms came around you barely need to study because of the weekly assignments and quizzes.

I adore this woman. She had me consistently laughing. Her lectures were useful, but watching them on-line was a lot more helpful as I could pause her and watch on 2x speed. A fair amount of work, definitely not an easy class but you get out what you put in. Not too tough to get a 90+ if you try

Great prof. Lectures are well done, pace of the class is reasonable, and what you learn in class/practice for homework is exactly what you get on assignments/quizzes. If you want a kind, reasonable, personable, and overall great prof... Take her class.

Amazing professor, when given the choice always choose her lectures over Boulatoff. Extremely adaptable and caring, she designs the syllabus to allow for flexibility. Thoroughly explains concepts and gives TAs decent materials to go over in the labs. My favourite professor in my degree so far by far. Love this woman.

Cyrus was peppy and often cracked jokes during lectures. The online tests and assignments are easy and fair, although there are a bunch of them. I would recommend trying to stay on top of the chapters and content as the exam is a little daunting at the end and you shouldn't rely on how well you did on the assignments/tests. The midterms were fair.

Dr. Cyrus was passionate about the subject matter. Tests were based heavily on readings, which was occasionally difficult to understand without prior experience. Assignments had clear step-by-step instructions and were interesting. Group project was fair and gave students opportunity to research a topic of their interest.

Great course and prof. Took this as an elective and it was pretty easy and was very interesting. It helps if you have a bit of background in stats for the readings.
