Big class. She was abscent minded at times. Interesting and fun. Makes it more interesting than others. Pretty easy tests. Review notes and chapter and you'll do fine.
I loved this class. She gives you lots of extra credit chances. For her tests, study the review guide. Also, read the book. Anything I missed on the tests, she had told us to read about.
I really enjoyed this class. Dr. Davis presents the material clearly. She gives 10 extra credit points if you come to class and complete various worksheets. She gives you a study guide for every test that tells what topics will be covered. You don't have to read the book, except for the parts she puts on the study guide. Be sure to attend class.
SHE IS VERY EASY AND HELPFUL AND ALL TESTS ARE MUTLIPLE CHOICE!
Dr. Davis is a great Psychology Professor. Her class is a little harder then I first expected, but she lectures well, provides good slides, and has study groups and a guide to follow for each test. Only way you dont pass this class is if you just dont care. learned a lot, not too hard to get an A.
I had this class my first semester at MTSU. You can make a good grade if you study and do your work! I enjoyed her class!
I loved this class! It was really easy as long as you attended lecture, and completed the study guides, and it was also really interesting. She's so helpful and will answer any question you have. Overall, I just think she's a great professor.
Just show up, take notes (easy, the power points are short and exactly what you need to know), and use the study guide and you're at least going to a get a B without to much effort. And you'll get an A if you feel like trying a little.
All the material for the test is on what she calls a "study group study guide" you dont have to read any of the book for the test as long as you do that study guide and study it thoroughly. The class is easy to make at least an A or B in.
Wonderful teacher! She is very clear in her teaching and takes time to make sure you understand. A LOT of extra credit is done, but only if you come to class. The homework and tests are easy as long as you take notes and read the textbook. She is very sweet and I highly recommend.
GO TO THE STUDY SESSIONS & STUDY THAT PACKET, DO ALL HOMEWORK & YOU WILL MAKE AN A!
Mrs.Davis was a great professor and made coming to class worth it. Speaking of coming to class (ITS MANDATORY)Normally she makes you write notes everyday , she gives extra credit daily. If you aren't prepared to read the textbook everyday don't take her. All test questions are from notes & textbook. Homework was really easy. Its an A or B class.
Her lectures are interesing. She is very enthuiastic and you can tell she really loves teaching. Gives a lot of extra credit. Make sure you use the study guides! They really help!
She's a great professor! Make sure you DO THE STUDY PACKET and GO TO THE STUDY GROUP. If you hate reading, too bad. Be prepared to read the text book every night. She breaks it up into small readings though. Always gives extra credit opportunity. Test are over notes as well as text book so if you skip class, you'll dig yourself a hole. Great class
i enjoyed her class. she is helpful and her lectures are detailed. great power points. as long as you read your textbook and take notes you will pass. her homework assignments are super easy. the information comes straight from the textbook.
She is an excellent professor (the best in the psychology department), her teaching is fantastic she is able to capture the attention of her 100 students. Her class is not hard as long as you read the book, do study guide (attend a study group!), and go to class.
Dr. Davis is FANTASTIC. I absolutely love her class. Make sure you go though, she gives a ton of extra credit. Her tests are not hard at all if you pay attention and the study groups are extremely helpful. She maybe gives one easy homework assignment a week, it's always just a worksheet based on the lecture. Definitely take her.
She is an incredible professor. She knows if her class is understanding her or not. She is also very accessible outside of class and will give you pointers for tests. GO TO THE STUDY GROUPS. Assignments are easy and going to class is a must if you want to pass. She makes her classes interesting and enjoyable.
Dr. Davis is awesome! I loved her class; she is helpful and understanding, and she will go out of her way to help you if you need it. Even if you are someone who struggles with psychology, I would recommend this class! Lectures are interesting and easy to pay attention to.
Very helpful professor. Tests were hard though. You definitely have to study. Easy homework & extra credit.
She is an awesome professor. Her class is easy if you participate. Her lectures are interesting. Tests will be hard if you don't study or go to study group. I would take every course she teaches if I could. Loved her class!
Dr. Davis is a great teacher, I just get bored with the material, however that's just me. She does a great job lecturing, but you absolutely cannot pass without studying your ass off. She does give study guides, extra credit (not much, but some), and homework assignments. It's not an easy class, but it's not the hardest I've ever taken.
Dr. Davis is an amazing professor who cares about learning and teaching. You can tell she loves her subject area and loves students. One of the nicest professors.
She is an AMAZING teacher. Take her.
She was great! Tests are easy and based off the study guide she gives you. Optional final exam.
Dr. Davis is the sweetest lady ever! Her class is very interesting! Do the study guides, go to the study sessions, read over your study guide a few times and you should make an A.
Unless you're Major is Psychology, don't take this class with this teacher. She is a really good at teaching, but the tests are difficult and there is a high demand for reading
Dr. Davis will give you study guides and homework to prepare you for each test. She even has a study group she will help you sign up for. If you do not take advantage of these, your grade will reflect that.
I'm never a fan of professors who make slides and then read off of them. Dr. Davis is one of those professors. For an honors professor, I wouldn't expect that. We spent a lot of time drilling in the same concept and then there would be a test question asking something super specific and random. Tests are hard. More busywork than other classes.
Dr. Davis is a really good professor with clear notes. She gives a study guide for every test and you can go to a study group. It's an easy A as long as you do what you're supposed to.
Dr. Davis is by far my favorite teacher I've ever taken, this is my second course I've taken with her as a teacher, and she is the reason i changed my major to psychology! She really teaches the things you need to learn, but in a way that doesn't seem terribly hard! Amazing Teacher!!
Dr. Davis is a fantastic teacher, she gives you the material you need and she also provides a study guid for EVERY test (there's also study groups for each test). The only negative I have are the learning curves, not that they are hard they are just time consuming, just do them and get them over with. I actually enjoyed psychology because of her!
Dr. Davis is one of my favorite professors ive taken. She is so sweet and really knows how to keep your attention, which is important because the class is lecture heavy. She gives you a study guide before each test use this!! Every question on the test comes directly from the info on the study guide. Overall wonderful class and professor.
Highly recommend her. She has an optional final at the very end of the class. You have a learning curve assignment due each week that online. Which you can work ahead. She takes several grades and gives you optional extra credit. She drops three homework grades and after 5 in class participation grades everything else is extra credit.
Great Professor! She cares about her students and provides lots of extra credit. There's weekly reading and online homework, but it acts as a cushion in case you don't do great on the 4 exams. The exams are all multiple choice and she provides detailed study guides. The lectures can be boring, but overall it's a good class and an easy A.
You HAVE to have the book to do your homework but its easy and honestly helped me by being able to go back and do the assignments again and again until I had 100s across the board. If you skip or are late a lot you are going to miss a lot of in class credit and the notes MATTER. some of the questions on the test are straight from the power point
5 tests+OPTIONAL final if you scored low on any. NEED txtbook for handouts/hw & to complete study guide. I RECOMMEND STUDY GUIDE!! It helps&helped me score rlly high. Attendance: atleast get notes from friends&pay attention to vids (also might miss class partic. activity) Lovely prof, funny, and IMO really nice! 0 regrets picking this!
Idk about gen psych but I can't recommend her for development. She doesn't make her lectures interesting at all and reads directly off the slides, as someone else said not what I'd expected from honor; and is disorganized. She seems much better fit for teaching 8th grade than a college honors class. Prepare for meaningless projects and little help.
Dr. Davis is a great professor! She wants her students to succeed. Tests are based on lectures and the textbook. Extra credit is given for class participation and homework. She gives out very helpful study guides and provides study groups. Put in the work, and you'll get the grade you want. I definitely recommend taking her for PSY 1410!
Dr. Davis is very good bc she is very clear and the material is easy to understand. very friendly. Just be aware that she only curves 2 pts out of approx 400. I had to take the optional final (with a 20 page study guide) in order to get the 3 POINTS I needed to get an A. the value of 3 points is very low on her system. The class is easy, but work.
pretty easy class you just gotta take good notes & study.
Mrs. Davis was one of my favorite professors! She is so sweet and is very passionate about psychology! She made class fun and her lectures were very interesting! As long as you show up to class, take notes, do the homework, and study you should be fine. I would definitely take her again!
Dr. Davis has an extensive an phenomenal dev psy class, she goes into all of the material very thooroughly. Take notes and complete the study guides, because the exams are hard, but the payoff is worth it because you really learn the material in that class.
She is a great teacher. She teaches psychology really well. There are 4 tests as well as an optional final at the end to replace a test grade. If you do not have good memory, you need to study nights before to make sure you do well on the test. I would consider another teacher for psychology if you are looking for an easy A, but she is still fine.
Professor Davis is super sweet and is there for you if you need any feedback. there are four 65 question tests, five in all if you decide to take the final. study guides are very long, a lot of definitions that you will need to know. textbook is needed for homework, participation is mandatory. if you don't study all the time you WONT pass.
Dr. Davis is possibly one of the most fantastic professors Ive ever had. I do not like psychology but she made it much more bearable. She truly cares about the success of her students. She explains things in a way that reaches everyone. She is very funny and makes lectures enjoyable. You learn so much from her and she simplifies the info perfectly
Dr. Davis was a kind and caring professor who did her best to make sure all her students understand a term before moving on. Classes are big (100), and everything on the tests come from the class lectures and a few from the book.
If you have to take General Psychology at some point during college, would recommend Dr. Davis. She is clear on her assignments and consistent. There are no surprises when it comes to her since she makes everything very clear. Provides helpful resources on her D2L to use when studying. Overall, amazing and has been doing well w/ online lectures.
The only grades that really matter are from the 4 tests. Everything else is based on completion. Study guides for tests are 20+ pages long. These tests are HARD. The class averages were around 70% for most. Way too time consuming for a GenEd. 3-7 practice assignments, 1 homework, and 1 class participation due weekly aside from test weeks.
I took PSY 1410 with Professor Davis, and her course helped me decide that i wanted to be a neurosurgeon. She has a no phone or smart watch policy which was great because it requires you to actually listen to her lectures. She is very easy to communicate with and her lectures were very interesting.
Dr. Davis was an amazing teacher. I had her during Fall 2020 on Zoom. It was her first full semester online. She did an amazing job having in-class lectures as well as YouTube video lectures. She assigned homework every week, but you can easily get it done in an hour. She tests fairly easy (if you know the material) I highly recommend her!
Most definitely my favorite class so far. She actually involves her students without calling on them, and she has fun activities to keep you interested. Her class is super easy, but there is quite a lot of work (easy work though). Her study guides are really long but they're optional. Easy A as long as you do your work.
This teachers class is vey hard to pass without going to study group. If you dont go you will most likely fail her test. You will have a 20 page study guide and nothing from it will be on the test .
Dr. Davis is one of the best profs I've had! She cares a lot about what she is teaching and it shows through her lectures. I took her course online and there is a bit of homework, but if you go to her lectures and read the textbook, it should be an easy class for you. I really loved this class, and she made psych a lot of fun!
Get ready to pay complete attention to all of her lectures and the textbook. Both will be tested equally on the tests. She also gives you videos you need to watch. Make sure to do the projects earlier than you think you'll have to. She can be a little tough on those. I can't stress how important it is to read the textbook.
Great/Caring professor, youll learn a lot, fun activities that you get to do outside of class such as an observation project, the effort you put in reflects on your grades. Definitely not an easy A class. If youre not used to summer classes, I would suggest you take her class during a fall/spring semester because it is a lot of work.
I loved her!!! She was so caring and understanding. Very down to earth and is willing to help you out with whatever you're having trouble with. I highly recommend her
Loved this class. You should definitely attend class and study for the tests, and you'll be good to go.
This class was so easy. Theres 4 big tests but she gives a study guide thats basically word for word on the tests. Literally just apply yourself and youll effortlessly get an A. Also, if you do bad on a test you can take the optional final and itll replace it
Gives a very detailed schedule, great communication on what she expects. Assignments are not hard and several oppurtunities for extra credit. Lectures are interesting. Attendance isn't completely required, just look on the schedule and make sure you attend when class participations are happening. Makes a large class feel smaller. HIGHLY recommend
she is super hard do not to take her. She will make you hate psych all together. The test is most of your grade. If you don't go to study groups and read like the whole textbook you won't pass. She makes it hard for no reason.
My favorite class Ive taken in college! But beware, you WILL have to read the book and follow the study guides. The tests are hard, so you need to dedicate a few days to studying. I made over a 100 on all four tests, but it took about a week of studying to do so each time. Show up, listen, and youll enjoy the class! Just be ready to do the work
Dr. Davis is a fine professor, BUT she crams way too much material into short lectures. No detail, just term and definitions. Occasional youtube videos or ancient docs. Not the best way to learn for me. It doesn't help that she allows students to go entirely too long on irrelevant tangents.
Very lecture heavy and the test are very big but if you go to the study groups you will do well
Long tests, but understanding. Just wants students to try and is accessible when help is needed.
4 test make up a good bit of your grade. GO TO STUDY GROUP AND DO THE STUDY GROUP. Im not a good test taker/ studying person so find what works for you and meet with her early on if youre struggling. Shes very kind and will give the best advice she knows to give. It is a lot of work so I recommend getting ahead on the homework and studying more
HEAVY WORKLOAD. She assigns workloads as if you're in a regular semester. I've taken it for a 3-week summer course and it's not easy nor gives time to find people to interview for her activity work. Lots of reading and not open notes for exams/quizzes!
For the most part, when it came to tests it was a lot of confusion on what material exactly to study. She lectures but also requires the book and sometimes the information in class lectures is not consistent with the textbook material, therefore what to study and how to study can be kind of confusing, especially by the way she words the test.
Dr. Davis is a nice professor, I would not take her again. The study guide is unclear and tests are confusing. I completed every study guide (ended up being 22 pages worth of info on a word doc) and only did well on 1 test. Her tests are the only reason I wouldn't take her again. She drops 2 homework and has opportunities to improve grades.
Her exams did not make sense. Her study guide was not that useful.
Dr. Davis's General Psychology class was amazing! Her lectures were interactive and she presented the material in a way that was easy to take notes on and understand. If you know the study guides (which are very thorough), you will do well on the tests. It is easy to see she loves teaching and psychology and is invested in student success.
Wonderful professor, which would make sense since she studies how students learn. She is very thorough about reading the class and taking notes on what works and what doesn't work in her teaching. She also explains complex matters in a way that's easy to understand. Thus, attendance in her lectures is vital if you want to excel in her course.
Every class lecture and notes are posted online, and clear study guides, and study sessions for you to be able to ace every test. Participation matters and with her grading anyone should easily get an A if you simply complete assignments and study. She is understanding and willing to work with you regardless of over 100 kids in class.
As long as you stay on top of your homework, which you usually have a week to do, go to study groups, and fill out the guides, you should do just fine in her class. She makes it relatively easy to learn, and her class is quite enjoyable. The final optional, and she drops a few of your lowest grades. She also offers a few points of extra credit.
Go to class and you'll pass. Lectures can be boring though.
Honestly as long as you did the work you will be smooth sailing. The tests were not that hard, honestly doing the study guide and GO TO STUDY GROUP. it will save you. Again I hate psy and it's not even my major, but this class I enjoyed. I did my work and went to study group and I ended up with a high A.
DR. DAVIS IS AMAZING! Her developmental psych class makes it easy and interesting to learn the course content. There are 4 tests, 3 papers, and a few other assignments. Her tests aren't hard to study for, they just take time--make sure you review ALL the lecture notes and study ALL the assigned sections in the textbook, and you'll be fine.
Honestly, lectures are very boring. She releases the study guides so late which barely gives you enough time to study for the tests and other classes. Her style of teaching is not that good especially if you have a hard time focusing or if you're struggling with other stuff. It's almost impossible to get extra credit which sucks.
Dr. Davis is a great professor but the lectures can be very boring. If you do the study guides (keep in mind they're like 15-20+ pages) and study them well, you'll do well on the tests as what's on the study guides are on the tests. The tests aren't cumulative either, so that's a bonus. Final exam was optional for our course too. HW every week.
This was honestly a very easy course and if you go to class and complete the fill-in-the-blank notes, you will pass every test. If you put in the slightest effort you will succeed. There are random easy assignments she'll give so you should go to class. There are 4 tests all from the study guide she will give you. I definitely recommend this.
Lol imma just tell yall if you are not good test takers RUN. She a nice lady but cannot teach her test are 75 questions and the study guide is thick . I wouldn't recommend taking her she don't do extra credit and her assignments do not count as much it's mainly just test for your grade which is weird. And her grading scale is horrible.
She is a very nice lady, but very boring lectures. TONS of little assignments, however very easy to get A if you just do the work. Tests are easy if finish study guide and go to study group. Easy but annoying class. Class participation most classes so attendance is mandatory. Some topics are interesting. Take this class for easy gen ed credit.
Dr. Davis is an amazing professor. Any bad reviews are only there because they most likely didn't attend class. Her lectures are very easy to follow, and there are recorded lectures in the meantime. The 70 question tests are straight from both the lecture and the textbook as long as you study. She makes psychology a very interesting topic.
Study guides weren't great and the tests are moderately difficult and long, but her lectures were great and she makes for a comfortable class environment
Dr. Davis made psychology easy and made me happy to go to her class. She has a great teaching style and gives many different types of grades so that your tests don't sink you. She prepares study groups and study guides for each test and genuinely cares. Her tests are the exact study guides and take advantage of study groups!
I loved her! There is a lot of homework, but it's super easy and she drops two homework assignments at the end of the semester. I loved her lectures, and she made sure to keep us engaged. Participation is important because she does random class participation grades, and she does take role at the beginning of every class. Overall, I recommend!
Dr. Davis is genuinely nice and caring. However, my only complaint about the class is that the material itself is quite easy to understand especially if you attend class regularly. However, the tests are difficult! The tests are too hard in comparison to the ebook and the lectures. I recommend the class, but make sure to study hard for the exams.
Dr. Davis will always help you learn and wants you to succeed. Her tests are VERY difficult but she offers study groups that will go over what you need to know for the test. There's a lot of reading, but you can get by with just skimming over it if you attend lecture. She gave multiple opportunities for extra credit and the final exam is optional.
Loved Dr. Davis! It is lecture-heavy, but as long as you take notes and pay attention, you could easily pass with an A. She gives LOTS of grading opportunities and drops a lot of your lowest grades at the end of the semester. All assignments, except for in-class participation, are online and she gives you plenty of time to do them.
Lots of minor assignments; this is not a class you can just get by in by listening to the lectures. But she provides a lot of opportunities to study and/or make up for a grade. Material was genuinely interesting, but Doctor Davis wasn't extremely engaging to me personally. She was kind though, and always helpful when reaching out.
you have lots of extra credit opportunities. if you go to class and takes notes off the slideshows and the textbook you'll be great. the tests are exactly like the provided study guide so especially study that. i loved dr davis she is very passionate about psych and she is very helpful outside of class too
I love this professor! She is super sweet and the lectures are very interesting. The test are extremely long with 80 questions and a 26 page study guide. 4 tests in the semester. She is so sweet though and a great professor! I will be taking her for all my psychology classes if possible!
She is a very nice professor, she is very forgiving and will drop few assigments, you do have to make sure your studying a lot for her exams. Overall her class was very intresting and would recommend.
Dr. Davis is the GOAT. As long as you at least kind of care about the class, she is very willing to make sure that you pass. Her classes can be very long, but she doesn't just mindlessly read off of her slides. 10/10 would take her class again.
Dr. Davis is very sweet, she is kind and loves to engage and she gives clear lectures. But she gives ALOT of homework and tests, she posts study guides but the guides tend to be scattered. She prefers you to print out a lot of the work you turn in. She's okay, i wish I could rate her higher because she really is a sweet teacher.
