shes very unclear, and her midterm was so long that not many people could finish. 35 mc and 6 short answers with calculations in about 1 hour time, no wonder the class average was 50

this is an elective course and she teaches like its the only course we're taking. difficult evaluations+marking. covers more content than some of my core courses, expects way to much of students. we aren't all Phd in economics (how did she get one by the way?)

only prof who gives an exam thats 3 essay questions from 17 chapters in 2 hours. avoid at all costs.

She makes economics boring by acting as if it's a pure math course. She doesn't know how to answer student questions effectively and makes you do algebra on assignments without giving you marks for it. Don't study with her.

BORRRRING. Worked my ass off, but didn't have much to show for it. Her accent is so thick its near impossible to understand her, alas, most of the work in the course you will have to teach yourself. From the first lecture to week 3 I think half the class dropped out because she was so incapible, and in the last weeks, only 5 people came to class.

Condescending & extremely unhelpful when students try to ask questions during lectures. Seems to expect that everyone has her background knowledge of Microeconomics and there must be something wrong with us if we don't. Incredibly difficult midterm, didn't have time to finish. Has a thick accent. Very unstimulating and ineffective as a prof. AVOID!

There is a strong language barrier present with this professor. I'm able to understand her words, but it's very hard for her to get her meaning across. I don't recommend attending any of her classes.

Teresa Fung has a significant language barrier and is unclear in articulating her communication. How does a prestigious University Like Ryerson hire profs like these? Who does the prof interviewing? Limited vocabulary results in poor communication. This causes reduced interest in the course. Recommendation: review prof hire policy&replace ASAP!

Don't relay on her power points too much, do the readings and her tests are something i've never seen before. It is so different from class and lyrux. Asked her to clarify the midterm question but she didn't put up the harder version but simplified version so there is no point in understanding it since on the test it's worded so differently.

This professor is ridiculous. If you get her, transfer to another section or take another class. It's not worth it. She still uses terms like "information superhighway" and "worldwideweb" when addressing the dotcom crisis. Full on Worst Prof I have ever had. This woman shouldn't be teaching at Ryerson.

Personally I think this course is hard, but with Teresa it's impossible! Her materials don't look hard but her midterms and final was the hardest thing I've ever seen. Lecture wise she is pretty good, she goes into depth and explains terms and graphs. I would recommend Chang school if she's your only choice, the extra money will be worth it.

Very hard to understand which made class difficult to attend. Tests were hard and many people did not pass them.

She is so boring. Her lectures drag on. She also sucks at English and makes it really hard to understand. You can't leave class early unless you are willing to sacrifice your marks because she gives in class questions throughout the entire class.

Prof Fung is a horrible instructor she consistently makes people who try to ask/answer questions feel stupid. I highly recommend you do everything in your power not to be in her class even if that means switching into a chang school class or taking the course during the summer. if you do take her class your going to have to learn it on your own GL!

she gives way to much homework every class and a assignment every two days way to whiny and this professor is horrible i wouldn't recommend her to any university student she is a horrible professor she got mad at me because i a six minute washroom break and she i took a sixty minute washroom break and i got a very good mark and drop it to 40%.

Good luck. You get saved by the online assignments so make sure to do them and get a good mark. Also go to the class so you get a good mark for the in class questions as well

Terrible prof. Final exam was 100x harder than any practice question or textbook question, she did not effectively prepare us for the final. If she had given practice questions or lecture examples of similar difficulty that would be fine, but she ignored this and the class suffered.

The online assignments and in class questions are what save you because the midterm and final exam are brutally hard. You get no practice questions and final had like nothing to do with anything she 'taught.' Guaranteed the whole class suffered.

Very condescending towards students with questions. Will mock students in front of the entire class. I was scared to answer questions in class cause I witnessed that every lecture. She laughs a lot also but not at jokes at random things she says herself.... very interesting

Honestly I'm not a business student so this is my first ever business class, and this prof really makes me relieved I'm not in business. She knows what she is talking about however doesn't teach it well, reading the textbook is more helpful then going to her class.

Microeconomics is turned into rocket science... Lectures are difficult to understand and power-points have minimal information with lots of examples. The textbook is your friend and learned very little while in lecture. She is very educated in the subject but choose a different professor if you want to learn. Bell Curves so thats cool I guess.

IF you have her SWITCH OUT. she can't teach, its actual 3 full hour lecture. Her mid term and final are nothing you learn. I learnt everything myself from textbook, bc her slides are 90-100 slides long....... but she does bellcurve the final... i passed but barely

Thought I'd take this class as an elective because I took ecn104 and thought I'd be interested. Boy was I ever wrong. Terrible class, extremely boring, difficult, and useless content from the 1600s. She barely speaks english, her midterm questions kept asking "Which of the following WERE true?". This class has made my life a true nightmare.

Most difficult final I have ever done , worst section , all other exams were not cumulative our exam was , that's half the work for the other sections , very unfair grading !

She cannot properly formulate her questions on both the midterm and final! Her questions contradict herself and are very confusing to understand what she wants from you. I would not take a class that she teaches again. And she laughs at her own powerpoint slides during the lectures... the class is always confused.

Her reviews were pretty bad but I thought I would give it a shot. She's awful. Very difficult to understand with her accent which is not her fault but you'll have to listen to her lectures multiple times. Her test questions are nothing you learn. I had to start teaching myself out of the textbook. Expect your marks to be 15% less than your usual.

The final was weighted so heavy, and was so hard, I went into the final With an A and ended the class with a C+

Professor Fung does not sympathize students at all. Being in a pandemic and doing online school is very difficult for students and she does not care. She's terrible at explaining lecture material and goes through content WAY too fast. Not a great professor.

Literally cannot teach, she does not know what teaching is idk who employed her here, she reads lecture slides, explaining doesn't exist in her dictionary. Do not take this class if you don't have to. I took this course online, she is difficult to follow during lectures and does not post them on D2L. There is a total lack of support to students. Very rude, quiz and test questions make absolutely no sense. Teaches irrelevant material. Lectures make no sense. Five quizzes which are more like exams plus a participation mark you have to earn by writing 12 essay like posts which she then returns with a bunch of questions she didnt ask you to answer in the first place. Easily spent 15-20+ hours a week studying and the final exam was ridiculously hard. Get a different prof !

The lectures are not understandable but you need to show up as she teaches things separate from the textbook and you will need to read the textbook yourself for the assignments and tests. Your questions are useless and the material taught is useless. The course is very hard for no reason and the prof is not kind. DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE.

She loves to give 70s. You are evaluated on two papers with no clear grading criteria then she burns you with 70 on both. The exam was fair but no matter how much you put down you get a 70. You MUST attend 3hrs of lectures per week for weekly participation quizzes where questions have multiple options that are right. Get it together Fung!

Awful teacher. If you give her an assignment following the minimal instructions she provides, she will fail you and then refuses to acknowledge that she provided poor instructions. Gives low grades with no direction as to what was wrong. No rubrics. Insists on spouting outdated and sexist ideas and then dismisses people who try to say otherwise.

I tried to ignore the reviews on here and go in with a fresh mind. Unfortunately, she lacks communication skills and it is difficult to have a mutual conversation with help, also dont bother asking questions in class. Im posting this do others dont make the same mistake I did.

She's sus and a low-quality educator. The only positive thing about her classes is that she displays an interest in her own content. She plagiarizes on her slides which are actually taken from books and websites verbatim with no citation which is funny.

This course was the worst choice I've made in course selection to date...Professor Fung is a poor communicator; this course should have some economics prerequisites...do not take out of curiosity or because the name of the course sounds intriguing...without an economics background you will likely fail or barely pass...the class average was 63%.

THIS PROFESSOR IS A WASTE OF TIME. She doesn't teach properly to ensure her students learn the material. She ushes through the information, and when students stop her and ask questions, her responses are rude. She also grades poorly. The class average for the midterm was 68% and she told us to not worry about it for it is only 20% of our grade.

One of the worse professors at TMU. Her grading criteria are trash. She told us in the lecture today that the class average for the midterm was 68% and that we should not worry about it because it was only 20% of our grade, which I found very annoying. After all, 20% is a lot. She has in-class assessments each class which are poorly graded.

This is a 2020/2021 review. Wow, she's bad. Look at the other reviews if I'm not enough. And as a cherry on top, she'll happily insult you for asking questions or for making a small mistake on an assignment... during class.

Has a terrible attitude for a teacher. She is passive aggressive, demeaning, and confrontational to her students and makes no effort to hide her lack of respect or professionalism, especially in the classroom. Her emails are hostile with 0 consideration for subtlety or tone, extremely bad practice to be teaching business & Ecn students.

She is literally the WORST. She has no empathy ; if you don't give the answers she's looking for, she will laugh in your face in front of the entire class. You have to do a quiz every class, and the questions are only on the slides, so you have to attend. AND she does not post slides after the class; she waits A WEEK OR 2 AFTER to post them. RUN

Moves way too fast through her lectures, making them hard to understand. Not a lot of assignments in the course, but she is an extremely hard marker. When she asks questions to the class, she will openly flame a student for saying the wrong answer.

Moves very fast during lectures, brief to no elaboration on slide material. Laughing at student comments are inaccurate she just giggles often. Mandatory textbook buy. Mandatory attendance due to in class quiz (questions only shown in class). Get ready to fill your camera roll with pictures of her slides, since she only uploads them 2-3 weeks later

You'll learn how to teach yourself well, because she won't do it for you. You'll set yourself up for many finance courses in the future, in exchange for your time, money, GPA, and future scholarship opportunities. Never again.

Struggles with english and says right at the end of every sentence. Does not directly answer questions from students and instead finds something else to start talking about.

Keeps asking students for their "thoughts" feels more like she's collecting their ideas.

She doesn't have a clear grading system, she grades in a way that makes it super hard for students to even pass, the term paper was ridiculously vague and she gave no instructions for what she wanted. The class itself isn't bad the prof is the problem for this course. Take it with any other prof just not her she makes everything unnecessarily hard.

If you do not have an Econ or Fin background do not take her course, the course has no pre reqs but should because she expects everyone to already know macro econ and financial instruments, and teaches like it. Lectures are hard to follow, she gives little feedback, and is rude. Saving grace is the final exam is very easy if you went to lectures.
