She sucks!!
She is a really good techer but she is really really stricked on grading and her test. She will count off for everything. She will drop 3 lowest quiz grades and the lowest test grade.
One of the best teachers I've ever had. Very good at explaining math to people who don't get it.
Aweful teacher Very unhelpful to her students. She looks down on her to students to make them feel as if they were unworthy of being in her class. Was always 5-10 min late and when your class is only 50 min 10 min could mean reviewing or test time.

Definitely knows her stuff, but won't answer a question that is not in the h.w. You have to study hard and don't fall behind. Her daily quizzes are about 2 questions and quite hard. But an A is not an impossibility =)

THIS CLASS WAS ONE OF THE WORST CLASSES I HAVE TAKEN. SHE IS VERY RUDE AND DOESN'T REALLY CARE IF YOU UNDERSTAND SOMETHING OR NOT.
She was a bad teacher and one of the worst to have and I would never recommend her to even my worst enemy. She acted **** to blacks and spanish. She only answered questions from the white kids and my class and pretended that they were the only one's in her class.
She simplifies material, makes them easy. Her classes are very fun and easy going. But her testing method is insane, tests are too long and very hard.
Unfortunately, most students say she falls behind in all of her classes and this makes passing the final almost an impossibility. She is a fun, intelligent and nice individual, but sometimes she speaks as though she is uneducated, such as with words "aksed" instead of "asked." NOT recommended.

She's a great math teacher. She tells you where you're going, goes there, then tells you where you've been. FOLLOW THE LECTURES. DO THE HOMEWORK. You can't help but get an A and learn the material. I have 180+ hours, and she's one of the best teachers that I've ever had. I think that she has has Master's in Math. Does that tell you anything?

This lady just doesn't care, period! The college uses her academia and brags about her, but in the classroom she is just awful. Algebra advanced classes are very hard for "non math types". She knows this and doesn't care. She REFUSES to go over previously taught material even if NO ONE in the class understood it at all. She's a robot.

This lady just does not care if you fail her class. You can beg for help and fail, fail, fail and she will still race through the material and teach and speak to the 4 or 5 people in the class who are math majors and don't need any help.Avoid this class. You will fail and waste your money.

Ms. Hodge is a great teacher. She gives quizes off of the homework that is given. Tests can be hard. I recommend that you take notes in her class because it is very helpful. I plan to take her class for College Algebra. Get help in math lab. I highly recommend her, she is clear and to the point.
I think this Professor Hodge is a very good teacher and i jus think it's the students that are being difficult.

AWFUL! She's lousy, she knows it, and she doesn't care. She is a legend in her own mind. Not available for extra help. Doesn't give a dang if no one understands anything. She is just racing through chapters, leaving everyone behind and could care less if everyone fails. A handfull of students were left for the final. I failed and they did too.OMG!
She is really hard! It's like she only speaks the language math, not caring who understands and who doesn't. Only take her if you're a math major. Her tests are rediculous. Maybe she enjoys watching everyone struggle knowing how much smarter she is.
Waste of time and money.
First of all, Ms. Hodge was 15-20 minutes late for the first two weeks of class. Secondly, homework doesn't count for anything. Even though there is plenty of it. You can't make up tests or quizzes. Not to mention that she won't even let us use calculaters for anything. Enough said.
OMG!!! I wanted to kill myself when I took her class. Horrible! She failed the whole class! She's a failure as a teacher and someone should tell her. The only reason they still keep her around is because the school knows that she's going to fail people. The more people that fail the more people that have to take the class over.$$$$$ for the school

Don't expect her to answer even the simplest question ....he answer to EVERYTHING is "you zig I zag" Whatever the hell that means ....she is ALWAYS late for class(even test days)....I would say the WHOLE sem. she was on time maybe 3 days...you pay for a class that is and hr and 15 mins , you get a 45min class. :(

I am terrible at Math find it very very difficult. This teacher showed up later anywhere from 15-25 mins late EVERY CLASS. With no apology. MAde you feel insulted if you asked a question and had very poor teaching habits. MAth is expensive, save your money

She teaches everything clearly. She's willing to help if you ask her questions. HOWEVER, her tests are multiple choice but STILL HARD. If you bubble in the CORRECT answer and your work is not done the way she teaches it, she will mark it WRONG! I had to bust my ass to get a C in her class. Don't take her unless you want to get graded poorly!!
She probably teaches the hardest class in the history of mathematics. Once the drop period arrived, 75% of the class dropped out. Her exams are EXTREMELY difficult and she ALWAYS gives the hardest questions on quizzes. Her tests are also ****ulative, which means, its like taking taking a final exam....every exam. Avoid her and save your money. =(

I think these comments here are ridiculous. I took the math with professor Hodge last semester and ended up with an A. Yes, it is not one of the easiest classes, but her explanations are crystal clear and she is also very helpful. She is the best math teacher I have ever had.

She is a good professor. But she is difficult plus she asks for too much. We had to get a mymath lab which is required plus an ad'l ALEKS which is almost as expensive as the MML.She is nice but she can be fresh. If you ask a question about something she taught before she will not go back so you will just be sitting there confused.
This lady is difficult. You have to do extremely hard quizzes, tests, my math lab, and then got to do purchase an ALEKS. Then we had to do these 30 page wrksheets for like every 5 sections in the book. This lady is tripping. She is good at teaching but she is definitely to hard. The class is kind of quick but if you love math you will get a good grade. There is alot of stuff you have to do but you can skip out on ALEKS if you do good. ALEKS, MML, Quizzes, Tests and Classwork is required for a good grade. Homework is not checked but helps. Very strict on due dates as she will not give a personal extension. Good class

I dont mind professor hodge, shes a very good person at heart but dam shes a tough grader man. She grades homeworks as tests so show work and make sure its correct; otherwise NO credit. She teaches fast too, so if you dont know the material your going to drop out like the other 2/3s of my class did. This should be a last option
Got an A in her class, but u have to study she doesnt go by percentenge she goes by points which is more helpful to the students, she's strict on attendance and cell phones. Overall she not that bad is u do the work.

Professor Hodge is not the teacher you want to take if you are not good in math. She always tells you to watch the videos over if its still unclear,but most of the time you were even more confused. Math lab is your BEST FRIEND in the course. I didnt want to fail so I dropped.

Professor Hodge is by far one of the best teacher's Ive had for math. I am terrible at math and she breaks everything down very clearly.All these other comments are off key. Yes,she is a tough grader, but she gives you EVERYTHING you need to succeed,but you HAVE to do the work. not a short cut prof. and not an easy prof., but by far the best!
She is very good people that are complain are not probably good in math or to lazy to try to understand. She will explain the work to you. There is post test appointments you get a half point for showing your work if you were on the right track put pick the wrong answer. Show up and do you work. That's what I did I got a beautiful A

For someone who hates math she made it make sense. she is not an easy grader. Do your work/pay attention & you will do fine. STAY ON TOP OF YOUR ALEKS!Gives posttest appts that give you an chance to get back pts for questions you may have barely missed. She will show you applicable shortcuts that make some prblms a breeze. Makes math interesting!
Professor Hodge is awesome! I had failed College algebra twice and was on my third attempt, she helped me pass! There is online homework, which is okay as long as you do it. Just get it done, because if you slack on that, you're done. The tests, you can meet with her and re-do the ones you missed and earn pts back! If you try, you're fine!
She seems pleasant and likes to be goofy in class. Attendance is her middle name. If you are not there when she takes attendance you're automatically 12 day absent, if you let her know ahead of time it's 14 day absent. She's big on solving things on the calculator, there's even portions of it on the tests that ask you to write how it's entered on the calculator. Her test are half "show all your work", and the rest multiple choice. Tests will also have some problems from previous testslessons. If you enjoy learning Calculus on power points than you should be fine, she writes very little on the board. She posts review sheets before each test so you can practice. Gives extra credit on; attendance, Discussion board, attending math lab (but the 40 hrs. are also mandatory). You need to know Algebra very well in order to pass this class, if you don't, and you ask her how she got from point A to B, she will let you know, "that is Algebra" (so if it took 8 steps in-between point A and B than you are on your own, it's not on the power point). Like any higher math, there's a lot of math homework assigned (not mandatory), and a lot of self-teaching, unless your Algebra and Trig. knowledge is on point. If you are continuing on to Calc. 2, and up, you may want someone else.
Notes are just copied and pasted from the book, vague and annoying teaching style, goofy and extremely rude, horrible teacher overall.... you'll be wasting your time and money with this lady... She's also upsess about attendance, and if you come 2 minutes late... your late... -_- if you take her, be sure to have a tutor along side you..
Very challenging professor. Everyone in the class is failing. I regret taking this professor because I know I (as well as everyone else in my class) will have to pay a lot of money just to retake this class since Hodge can't teach.... at all....
she is an amazing teacher. she makes you work hard but its great at explaining math, gives you a bunch of different ways to solve problems, not just the way she likes, uses a lot of visual cues. she really does everything she can to help everyone understand, if you do bad on her test she gives you a chance to recover some points
I would highly recommend you not take this class. It's hard to pass with a teacher who doesn't teach. She relys on videos to teach and if you have a question she hardly helps. Find a different teacher for this class, you won't pass.
Like someone said earlier she does rely heavily on videos and you basically teach yourself, so if you're more of a hands on learner this isn't the class for you. I don't think the class was that bad I got a B for my final grade. she does give a ton of extra credit opportunities though.
If you want to learn take this class. However if you want an easy A this is not for you. She wants you to do all homework problems and even to practice those problems that weren't assigned. Test are very difficult, she will throw any random question expecting the students to be able to solve it. You will get depressed and many will drop out class.
Before i chose this class, i read all bad reviews & i said "oh my god!" Bcause i was late, i had to chose this one. And my knowledge of Math was zero. But there isn't anything bad with her because it's a blended class. She explained everything clearly and u have to do Aleks and study practice tests. That is all you need to do. When uneed, she helps

She's very nice. Her grading is what got me. She gets you on a lot of things. Even spelling.(I know, this is a math class.) If you get her, be sure to double check on your assignments before you turn them in. Make sure to watch the lecture videos, because those come in handy on worksheets. And make sure to go to the PTAs. She is funny and really nice but she doesn't actually teach. She sits at her desk and just shows the videos on D2L. I took this class on campus because I'm more of a hands on leaner but taking this class with Hodge made me feel like I was taking a online course. Some students pay out of pocket if you are one sAve your $ and wait till another Prof.
Hodge is a nice lady, but if you're a hands-on kind of learner, you might not want to take her for this class. She would make an excellent online teacher. Her class is very difficult to pass if you don't do exactly what she says, which are all on the syllabus. Her grading is very hard to understand. You have to teach yourself. Lots of extra credit.

Avoid this woman at all costs. She gives plenty of homework that is never graded nor checked. Grade is based on four tests and a final that she comes up with. Tests are cumulative, very long, and difficult. Spent countless hours in the math lab studying and have nothing to show for it. Even the tutors suggest avoiding her. She is rude as well.
This class was absolutely terrible. Would not recommend if you are not good in math. Shes got a bit of an attitude. Not a good experience. Most of my class had to withdraw.
Professor Hodge is hard grader who wants things done her way but that's not too hard once you get used to her. Watch lecture videos before coming to class or else the worksheets will make you suffer because she won't go over how to do everything on the worksheet. Watch out for you annotation because she will take off for the wrong annotation.

She is very particular in how she wants things done. Doesn't really teach. She does more of a review right before you need to turn in your worksheets. Better off using the lecture videos to teach you. And Aleks is mandatory.
IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN EASY A DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. Ask questions in this class . She gives plenty of extra credit. Test are multiple choice but work must be shown on specific questions if not the entire problem will be marked wrong even if the answer is correct. Be prepared to study, do not daydream in this class because she goes fast .
Her lectures can get very fast but she does make the effort to answer any questions in between topics. Very willing to help you after class as well. There's a moderate amount of homework, but many opportunities for extra credit. As long as you pay attention and study you won't fail.

She doesn't really teach in her class. She wants things done her way and JUST her way. I remember I used one different method that my cousin taught me, and I got an F for one of the assignments. I still passed with a B, but overall she's not a very good professor. STAY AWAY.
She is a really good professor. She cares about her student, be ready to do lots of homework. She is amazing tutoring and helping you with whatever you need. She is hilarious and passionate about her work. I recommend her, she gives great extra credit after every test. Be sure to go to her PTA's. Good luck.
I would never taker any of Prof Hodges' classes again ! Warning she is horrible at communicating, e-mails you about 3-5 days after sending her an e-mail. And all she replies back is to "check the syllabus" ! I took the class online, so Aleks basically taught me. On D2L it is very unorganized and hard to decipher want information you really need.
This teacher drinks a cup of rage before class. During review for the final a student asked a question. Professor Hodge yelled at that poor kid something fierce. That was the last question anyone asked in the class. She has no patience and is angry at the world. Sad...
I lasted 2 days with her, the orientation online had HIDDEN answers, this is a math class and for some of us its hard enough without looking for blues clues, the email response i got back was sarcastic and smirky, switched to another profess immediately. I'm a student trying to better myself and family, no need to make life harder. Good Luck

Pre Calculus was extremely easy with her. But just know you have to rely on my math labs to teach you because she just stays at her computer and reads slides. doesn't teach good at all. lucky my math labs is extremely easy and teaches you better than she would have. only has 3 test and a final.
I don't really enjoy math and it is not an easy subject for me but this professor made it as simple and clear as it can be. If you do all the hw, extra cred, and show up then you will defiantly pass this class. This professor is very happy and enjoys what she does and that is extremely refreshing bc most teachers aren't like that.
Took the blended accelerated 8 week course for trig and Im usually really good at math but the course was so fast and hard for me to grasp quick. She gives you my Mathlab work due every week and the tests are okay. Extra credit did help though. Didnt like her teaching style though, it was PowerPoints only ... wouldnt recommend
I took the blended course for Trig and Pre-Cal. She is really good and give you a lot opportunities to improve your grande. She explains fast, and I love it. I am not a student type who likes step by step. People used to complain about her, but thats a blended course, you have to work by yourself tho. Also, she was always so funny and entertaining.
She's not the greatest lecturer, but she's very welcoming in her office hours. Her grading system is also VERY forgiving, as attendance counts for e.c. She also allows you to earn back points you missed on your tests and she curves the last exam and final. I got all B's on the tests but finished w/ an A because of the extra credit.
Prof. Hodge I hope you get to read this someday. You are the least inspirational professor I ever had. During class you read a PowerPoint presentation that no one understands, and dont allow questions. The point of teaching is for the students to learn, we are not learning since 85% had failed. I am going to complain to the Dean, someone must.
Please, just dont... currently enrolled in the class and it is the HARDEST / worst mistake i did. Doesnt teach you o how to use the calculator, does not lecture good AT ALL. If you good at math be my guess i would not recommend. Prof hodge stick to trigonometry cause this aint for you. reading off powerpoints for a math class, man gtf out
She is a great instructor. As long as you follow the syllabus and do your homework, you will do well in the class. Would take again.
Do NOT take her unless youre a math genius. The grading in this class is horrible , you have 3 MAJOR tests at 300 points each, and 1 final at 500 points. Everything else in the class is worth 10-30 points ONLY and you have to work hard for those little points, and dont think for a sec you can email her & not get a slick response back.
Ms. Hodge is a talker and only talks about food. I'm personally not that good at math so I wanted a interactive teacher and she basically read off the powerpoint and expects us to know what she's talking about. If you ask a question, she always says "It's in the syllabus!!" but sometimes I don't have immediate access to it but whatever. Do your hw.
Professor Hodge is the most excellent professor that I had at Broward College, especially in remote times. I already took three courses with her, and she has never disappointed me. Professor Hodge is very consistent from the first day of class until the last one, and she provides many tools that you can learn outside class.
Professor Hodge is clear about her explanations and extremely fair about grading and extra credit. She also permits you to earn back points you missed on your exams, and she curves the final. Just follow the syllabus and get involved; this instructor is lovely, caring, and knowledgable. I love when she says: take a breath! <3
This professor had a great personality always upbeat but shes tough. You ask questions she wont answer because everything is in the syllabus. During lectures she explain things maybe twice then you'll be on your own watching the recording. She very tech savvy. Honor lock for midterm and final. All assignment are on Pearson.
She is really awesome! Trigonometry was really difficult for me and I still do not completely understand it but Professor Hodge has a very good way of making it seem not as hard, while she does move alittle fast . She does everything to help you succeed and provides extra credit where she can Id definitely recommend her for any math subject
Where do I start? if you're doing this class during quarantine you'd better withdraw immediately. if something happens with the online homework she will refuse to help you for WEEKS until the class is almost over. Had to get the Dean involved just to get her to do her job, not to mention her sharp remarks when you need help. Don't bother with her.
Don't. If you have any other choice go with that other choice. Everything is through Pearson. And If you happen to have any problems with that program she will not help you. I didn't find the right tag for prof. She's very rude and makes you feel real bad. When I asked questions in class, she put me down and made me look like stupid. And she doesn't teach well and just reads off a powerpoint. The worse teacher I've ever had in math at BC. Don't recommand her at all.
Her syllabus has all you need, and thats why she doesnt want students asking her questions she has already addressed there. There is an immense amount of extra credit, although the content can be difficult. But it would be difficult with any other Professor too, its calculus. She does test corrections so that students can earn back test points.

I wouldnt recommend her at all. She has a friendly and welcoming attitude but if you ask questions shes rude and not helpful at all. She gives a quiz every class and doesnt let you breath. All she does is read off powerpoint and barely goes through actual math problems. You have to teach the material to yourself because you will learn nothing.

AVOID this professor!! I asked her one question and got the most nastiest answer ever, never asked a question again. She does not like to help her students, if you ask a question she will be beyond rude, reads off slides, doesn't answer emails. The reviews here are an absolute 100% correct description of her, she is the worst professor ever!
This professor encourages questions in class but when you do she makes you feel stupid. She only reads off of the PowerPoint and doesn't provide further questions/ examples that are crucial in a math course. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. It'd honestly say if she were the last professor left just skip the course that semester and wait until the next.
I had Ms. Hodge as my professor as a replacement since my other professor left. She was the worst professor I've ever had in college. She talks down to you if you don't understand the material and will be rude if you ask questions. Her homework has a bunch of parts to it which causes you to always be doing homework and her tests are even harder.
i regret taking this class. she did not teach the material well nor help when needed. she had a strict date for tests and wouldnt let you take it at a different time without going through this but process. as someone who is not good at math, this class was extremely difficult and i am planning on retaking it as course recovery. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!
She is horrible. You have an issue? Don't try going to her for help, she wont care, she'll only refer you to the syllabus. Have an issue with Pearson? That's not on her call them to ask for help. Lectures are horrible, everything about her and the class is bad. NEVER TAKE HER!!!!
If there is another professor available, CHOOSE THEM. I had to withdraw from her after the midterm because I knew I would end up failing. She is incredibly rude, if you try to ask a question she makes you feel stupid or tells you to look at the syllabus. She reads straight off the powerpoints, which is NOT the way to teach a difficult math class.
Hard teacher. Lecture with slides. I preferer lecture that exercises are solved in front of you. Use to much calculator. She depends on it. Take Dr. Demsky class instead. He is totally the opposite and don't want you to use calculator. Because calculus don't need calculator all the time. She does not make the test. All is AI generated. Horrible!
She is not a good teacher. Uses more slides than practice the exercise with students. Appears to be funny, but does not show respect to students. People just quit from her class randomly. I wish she could change the way she teach.

The professor directs all of her methods from the 30-page syllabus, gives a ton of homework, and has no room for adjustment on test grades. Uses PowerPoint to teach but does not take time to make sure students fully understand the content. PowerPoint presentations are not specific enough to be able to learn from.
I took Professor Hodge for MGF1107. She was overall an okay professor. I know many of my classmates had issues with her, however personally, she was always very kind to me. Her lectures are all on PowerPoints, she is very test heavy, and has a lot of homework. However, I felt like the class was manageable and I was able to get a B.
Professor Hodge has a unique teaching style, but using resources like Unstuck study alongside the provided materials can help overcome the challenges. The class is difficult, but the extra credit opportunities and test corrections make it manageable.
I took MGF1130 online with this professor. While the course content was manageable, the grading was overly strict, particularly for discussion posts. Despite thorough research, my grades suffered due to composition requirements. This focus on writing over math concepts was frustrating for a math class.
shes quite rude especially when answering questions she kind of ridicules you. shes very sarcastic and just unlikable and her teaching style is not great.
This professor reads directly from PowerPoint slides, is rude when students ask questions, and if you miss four classes, you will fail the entire class, regardless of your performance. She assigns homework as if you only take her class and have nothing else to do with your life. Do NOT take her for statistics, you will waste your time.
Don't ever EVER take this professor or it will affect you the whole term. She gets mad when students ask questions and just read the text out of the PowerPoint. You won't understand anything, You won't get help and you'll get a LOT of homework. Pick ANY other proffesor but her.
