willing to help if you are willing to help yourself. just redo all labs and study for the exams and you should be fine. easy a.
I learned so much from this class even just for my day to day health. She likes to tell stories about her life which can be nice from class. She does everything she can to help students get a good grade and make class fun. Do all your work and you will be fine!

so EASY and funny and relaxed best teacher ever. doesnt really care about much, dont need to buy any of the textbooks
Im on the fence with Dr. Moore. She has her nice days and her mean days. EXSC 507 is EXACTLY the same as EXSC 191 except for one project and the online quizzes are 50 questions instead of 25 like in 191. She has a tendency to ramble and get off topic ALOT and she loooooves to talk talk talk about bodybuilding so be prepared. DONT BE LATE!
Great Teacher!!! She is willing to help you, as long as you are applying yourself, paying atention, and you are actually trying yourself. She does take attendance, so show up to class. She is a great teacher, i def. suggest taking her
A dreadful teacher. Spent more time talking about her gross body building than actually teaching. Can't get in touch with the teacher outside of class and has a problem grading things in time even with 2 assistant teachers.
For someone who teaches about stress management, she gets stressed out beyond belief around advisement time. She assigns more work than she can manage to grade, even with two TAs, and she really could not care less if you make an A or an F in her class. If you are not an EXSC major, do NOT take this class. You will regret it.
Dr. Moore only teaches to hear her own voice. Doesn't seem like she enjoys teaching at all and TAs do all the work. Also a terrible advisor and sends mass emails because she gets so stressed. EXSC 191 was pointless
she does talk a lot about herself and her body building, but if you're interested in daily health and a good lifestyle whatsoever, she knows what she's talking about. it does kind of become annoying to hear all the personal stuff, but at least she can back everything up she's teaching since she's done it.
This is an easy A as long as you are willing to take the time to read the text, do quizes on time, and do the projects. So many people expect to make good grades when they dont even put forth any effort. Dr. Moore is an awesome professor and knows what she is talking about. She is very fair about grades, but dont expect fairness when you are lazy.
Dr. Moore restructured this class this semester. It was not a lot of work and it was not hard.
Changed class format so no tests just 2 projects & online quizzes. Quizzes were worth TOO much & I ended up w/ a B. Spends the whole time on ppt & goes fast but everything is in the book which you have to have for the quizzes. Easy projects (& interesting). if you like nutrition, you'll like the class. Should take b/c better teacher than advisor
This is a required class, however Dr. Moore is extremely helpful if you are willing to do the work. I made an A in the class and learned a lot about my personal health. It is a class that is beneficial before taking other EXSC classes. I definitely recommend taking her b/c you will learn just be willing to put in the effort! It's not high school.
Dr. Moore knows what she is talking about. She does talk about her personal life a little too often, but she shows that she has an interest in getting to know her students. If you get to know her, she is very helpful.
Class was accelerated. Which was great since I didn't have to endure that boring class for too long. Really easy, but super long. Online quizzes you use the book for, project can be a pain but easy if you do it ahead of time. Nice lady, but long winded. Made an A. I'd recommend only if it's accelerated, since the class is so boring.
Not the greatest professor. Doesn't seem to concerned about her students. Never responds to emails. She constantly brags about herself and her body building career. The course isn't bad, I would just recommend taking it with another professor if possible.
The class is a joke difficulty wise. Definitely based on common sense. Dr. Moore was very unorganized at the start and barely got any better. It's an easy A but I don't recommend it if you're not an ex sci major.
I'm in the accelerated class and it's so easy. If you can zone out Dr. Moore's personal life for 2 hours, you'll do great in the class. Attend to get the handouts but bring a pillow to get a little nap during nonstop story time
She loves to hear herself talk. The course itself is super easy, just a big project and in-class quizzes. She just goes thru the ppts but just talks about her body building career, mud runs, and the same example of doing squats. You can go to sleep in this class and get an A. All in all easy course but she just babbles. I recommend Dr. Chen instead
This class is super easy. I stopped taking notes the second week of class, didn't pay the slightest bit of attention and managed an A in the class. It's pretty much common sense and all she does it talk. There are about 10 quizzes or so and a big project.
This class is an easy A. Its all common sense. the hard part is put up with her. She repeats the same stories about herself all semester, preaches about meeting deadlines then waits to the day before the final to grade everyones project, and did i mention she likes to talk about herself? Lots of extra credit opportunities. again she loves herself
Easy A. The hardest part is putting up with her. She repeats the same stories over and over, she preaches about meeting deadlines then waits to the last day before the final to finish grading the projects, and shes unorganized. She loves talking about herself. The class is easy but shes annoying. I ant stress enough about how much she loves herself
I absolutely loved Dr. Moore! She's hilarious and laid back. I'm pretty sure the only people who didn't like her class were the ones that shouldn't be majoring in exercise science. If you aren't interested in it, don't major in it. Really. DYEL.
This woman is absolutely obsessed with herself and guilt trips the entire class if one person turns in the wrong assignment. If you want to be miserable for an ENTIRE semester then by all means take this professor. I would rather get all of my teeth pulled out than sit in one more class.
She is so sweet! The class is easy but you learn a lot of relevant information. People complain but in my experience, if you're not rude to her and have an active interest in the material she will go out of her way to help you with anything related to exsc. She knows a lot about what she's teaching, and is a really helpful person.
Dr. Moore uses lectures as time for her (terrible) motivational speeches. I must admit her heart is in the right place but I did not get what I wanted out of this class, especially because I was so excited about it in the beginning. Wouldn't recommend but she's the only option so...
Dr. Moore is crazy. Makes you feel bad if you are a girl and can't squat 315 lbs just because she can. Preaches power lifting and gets mad if you get up to go to the bathroom in a huge lecture class (what??). Repeats the same stories over and over. Easy to pass if you show up.. don't need to pay attention at all. Info is mostly common sense.
All she talks about is her own life. I don't care about body building and I never will. Also it takes her forever to grade assignments and she never even responds to emails. She talks about how rude her students are when half the time she doesn't respect anyone enough to even let the class out on time.
The whole lecture is her talking about her personal life and trying to motivate us. It's kind of annoying, but the class is pretty easy so it's worth it. There are a lot of online tests and assignments, but if you try to do them you can easily make an A. There is a fitness test outside of class that kind of made me sore, so be prepared.
Worst teacher ever. Talks about how good her body is but not the best looking body. Most crazy person ever. Really heavy on her deadlines and she waits for the last minute to grade. Oh wait still do not have my grades posted.... Do not take.
easy A as long as you turn everything in. she's an extremely nice lady, but she does over emphasize certain things a lot. if you hated her or this class, you're probably in the wrong major. however, she is not the best at responding to emails
Dr. Moore is the best when it comes to Exercise Science. Lectures are long and she will keep you to the very last second but the class is an easy A if you turn the assignments in on time and do the study guides. She is very approachable and sweet.
Easy A. Don't need to show up to class to do well, but attendance is taken and is 10% of final grade. All tests are online and can be found on quizlet. Worksheets are easy, other assignments are busy work but easy. Participation in TopHat questions counts for 10% of final grade. If you have an A in the class, you're exempt from the final.
Dr. Moore I'm sure is nice but she doesn't seem to actually like teaching. Never responds to emails and neither do her TAs. Gives quizzes online but notes never help, just look up questions on quizlet. If possible take someone else, if you can't I'm sorry. Go to class for tophat credit.
The lectures are really long and boring. Come to class, participate in tophat, and do the in class assignments that are required and you will do fine. The quizzes are online and really easy.
Doesn't cover half of the material that she puts on the test.
The class is beyond easy if you show up and answer the tophat questions. She was always quick to answer my emails but I can't say the same for others. Dr. Moore sucks though because her class is so boring and she just blabbers the entire time. Easy A if you can actually sit through the lectures without wanting to die.
This is an easy class. All test are online, half of the answers you can find by googling them. You have to go to class for the attendance code, it's a good bit of your grade but you get some extra credit. The lectures are boring, but just go for the attendance and tophat, I did other homework in there. Gave me time to get stuff done. She's nice!
Dr. Moore is an interesting character, that's for sure. She's had lots of experience in the EXSC world and wants to show you ALL OF IT. As for teaching methods, not the greatest. It's a lot of open discussion and PowerPoints comparing healthy to non-healthy foods. The out of class experience isn't "experience". You get to stand around and watch.
This class is an easy A. There are no actual tests, just online quizzes that you do at home with a one hour time limit which you will need to your textbook for. The questions on the quizzes can be difficult sometimes. Moore uses TopHat so pay attention in class and you should do fine on pop quizzes as long as you show up. in-class worksheets r easy
Dr. Moore is very kind & helpful. She is one of my best professors at USC. VERY EASY A. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TAKING HER IN THE SUMMER. 10 quizzes online. DON'T buy or rent the book because you can find the answers online . DON'T skip class. There are pop quizzes and they are easy, just look at the slides of the Power Point every day before class.
The class bores me to death. It always lasts until the very last minute of class. She takes attendance at start and finish of class. It sucks. The online quiz answers are no longer all online. It is easy enough but the attendance is dumb. Take someone else if you can
She is a tough grader. Make sure if you use a Mac, that you put your documents into PDF or Doc (x) form or else it will not be graded.
She is a tough grader and stuck up so do everything exactly as the instructions say to. there are online quizzes but the answers are online so they are easy grade boosters. classes are so boring and she takes attendance before and after classes. She is pretty rude to students as well. Wouldn't take her again.
The class is literally just her following a powerpoint. You need TopHat for attendance. You need the book for her online quizzes but you could probably find the answers online. She's not the most understanding person, but an A is def attainable.
Dr. Moore puts herself on a elevated platform because she is a former body builder. She is nitty picky with grades and takes a long time to return grades for assignments. The quizzes are online. You need the book for the first 5 and answers are online for the last 5. Beware she takes attendance at the start and end for class. Not take her again!
Lectures are pointless b/c the only assessments are online quizzes that cover book chapters- not her powerpoints. Takes attendance at beginning AND end of class and is super moody and not easy to work with. An A is easy to get if you get the attendance points and do the worksheets/quizzes but it's so boring I never went. She also has quite the ego.
Lectures are painful. I wave the white flag
Dr. Moore is so strange and usually just stands at the front of the class talking about herself. Most of the info is common sense so it is super annoying that she takes attendance at the beginning and end of each class with tophat. tests are easy. online quizzes every week. one project that's easy
Yes she is boring & weird, & talks about herself a lot but this is such an easy class for a 500 level. Quizzes are online, I didn't even buy the book for them. She does lecture right off the PP, I always did other hw in there. Group projects are annoying but it's such an easy A & she'll help with anything even if it's not her class. Take it
Lots of group projects, no test. Really easy A though. It's easier to learn about the material this way too. On lecture days I did other hw but attendance is a grade. I'd definitely take because it's an easy A for a 500 level class. She'll help with anything, even if it doesn't involve her class. She does talk about herself a lot but it's worth it
Okay guys seriously she is not that bad. The hour and fifteen minute lectures weren't exhilarating at 8:30am but as long as you remotely pay attention you're fine. I did other homework in her class and still got exempt from the final. She takes attendance so beware that will dock your grade if you skip a lot but other than that it is an easy A.
Dr. Moore is a great lady. Not gonna lie, her classes can be very boring as they are her rambling on and on the whole time. But online quizzes are given every week which help your grade a ton. 2 exams, and all the questions come from top hat questions that you answer during class. Easy A if you do the work, very nice lady
She is annoying but her class is easy. This semester was the first one where she did in class test. They were all solely from the top hat questions she gives in class so just take pictures of those in class. Does tophat every class so find a buddy to switch off with. Chapter quizzes each week are easy but sometimes you need the textbook for them.
Dr. Moore keeps things interesting for sure. The class is pretty self-explanatory, so the material can get boring, but her personality always kept me entertained. Relates stuff you're learning in class to her experience as a bodybuilder and extreme kayaker. She gets really into it.
This class is an easy A. Her lectures are boring, but sometimes complete assignments in class so it's a good idea to go. 2 large projects but she pretty much explains every part in class. No tests, quizzes on Blackboard for each chapter in the book. Hard to reach by email but willing to look over stuff before you turn it in for grading.
Dr. Moore knows her stuff and really just wants her students to learn. As long as you put a little effort into the material and ask any questions you have, you'll be fine. She gets very excited about the material so she is really happy to answer questions and make herself available for any reason!
Easiest class Ive taken at USC so far, tons of extra credit, show up to class for in class assignments, homework takes 30 mins a week max, she clearly goes over how to do the projects, no tests or quizzes, I showed up and went on my computer the whole time, yeah she talks a lot about kayaking and body building but it was basically a study hall
talks about kayaking/bodybuilding a lot, but I really liked her. class is easy, no tests or final just blackboard & tophat quizzes. group work is over half your grade, it can be annoying but get a good group and youll be fine. not a strict grader at all. class was kind of disorganized but an easy A if you put in a little effort. love dr. Moore!
Stress from going online has changed Dr. Moore. Most of the time she spends struggling with the technology, which is understandable with the first few classes but we are well into the semester. She is unclear about what she wants and has no rubric to explain why she gives the grades that she does. A lot of class time is watching youtube videos.
Dr. Moore is the most unorganized professor I have ever had at USC. She does not teach very well and expects students to know stuff she doesn't teach.
way too much work & so disorganized. huge semester long project that is way to complicated & time consuming, & forgot to mention our final (a group project) until the last 2 weeks of class. in the last 2 weeks of class she assigned: a test, 2 large projects, 3 small assignments, and a group project final. Acts like you have no other classes or work
Dr. Moore is knowledgable in exercise and nutrition, but this doesn't translate well into a class. She goes on tangents and you will hear the same kayaking/powerlifting stories 5 times the semester. You have 3 projects that you have to work on the semester. They aren't well explained and class is scatter-brained. Don't take if you need organization
Very tough on grading. If not in a format she prefers, instant 0. She allowed revisions on a project all semester per section, but on the final section worth most points of project, she only allowed one submission and gave multiple failing grades starting from 30/1300 points. Avoid at all costs.
While she does take a long time to respond to emails, shes a great lecturer and works in personal experience to bolster what she teaches.
this class is a waste of time. not a lot of work. all the quizzes can be found on quizlet. attendance isn't mandatory but u could miss something important and never know what bc she never answers her email. waits till the last minute to grade stuff and gave us 2 big projects due right before finals with literally a weeks notice.
Professor Moore was one of my easier classes this semester, but the class itself was rarely about what we were taking our weekly quizzes on. She had us do assignments that did not translate to our actual course load. The class was scattered and hard to follow and she is hard to access outside of class. Don't take if you need organization.
The lectures were extremely boring. Don't bother buying the textbook because the quizzes are online and easy to look up. There was one big NutritionCalc assignment that took a lot of time and she was kinda tough when grading it. She just wastes time in class, so I stopped going after about a month.
An easy professor, but her lectures are boring and she gets sidetracked often. As a student who has struggled with food and body image, her lectures & assignment can sometimes even be triggering so please be mindful. The quizzes are all open-note/open-textbook. A tough grader but you can submit assignments early for ungraded feedback.
this class was a waste of my time. Dr. Moore does not teach anything about nutrition but then expects you to be able to fill out an 8+ page nutrition assessment. Her lectures are just rambling about nothing and she doesn't have due dates for anything. will create assignments that don't apply to class. wants to give everyone an ED. Avoid her!
Dr. Moore is a generally nice person when you talk to her, but this class is scatterbrained. The lectures are pointless (it's just ramblings about kayaking and bodybuilding). Then there are random assignments with no direction or grading criteria. The Nutrition project is long (8 pages +) and basically asking for students to develop an ED.
This was the most disorganized class I've ever taken. Dr. Moore rambled about irrelevant topics during nearly every lecture and I learned hardly anything. Projects never have clear due dates and are assigned on a whim. Avoid if you can.
This class is not that bad if you need a filler. It is an extremely boring class that she rambles on about nothing but its probably good to take with other high-demand courses. She is definitely disorganized and randomly assigns stuff with no due dates. As long as YOUR on top of HER about it you should be fine. Do everything by the directions!
Incredibly disorganized class. Attendance is required but she doesn't do anything with the lecture slides. She wastes 15 minutes at the beginning of every class trying to get TopHat to work, then spends the rest of class rambling about bodybuilding and judging her friend for going to Chick-Fil-A. I'm teaching myself the material, not hard, shes bad
Her lectures are extremely boring, and she goes on tangents that have nothing to do with the curriculum. She teaches students to be self-conscious and insecure about themselves by talking about cellulite, Chick-fil-A, candy, etc. Genuinely made me struggle with my body image.
Dr. Moore is so sweet but she cannot teach. We have chapter quizzes every Sunday night, but her lectures never matched up. If the quiz was on chapter 10, she was still going over chapter 7. She also complains about the textbook she CHOSE to use. The textbook is not the newest addition. Her slideshows are the same as the textbook.
Don't like her as a person but the class was pretty easy. the nutrition unit was HELL i swear she wanted to give everyone in that room an ED and rambles about her body building experience. The tests are online and open note so I just stopped showing up because I can't stand her but I still do well
Loved would take again
All exams and quizzes were online open note / book. The quizzes never lined up with the power point lectures she was reviewing in class. She spent majority of class talking about her life experiences as a body builder and shameful health habits of people she knows - she barely covered content in class. Attendance is taken every class.
Pretty much an online class where you just have to go to class to get participation grades. Her quizzes do not match up with what she teaches in class though
In my experience this class was not bad at all. The tests are online and so are the quizzes. I did feel like going to class was a waste of time because what she taught us never lined up with our quizzes. You also don't need to pay money for the textbook. I bought the textbook and honestly never used it. She does take attendance on top hat.
Super easy class! Shes super sweet and has a lot of great information, but tends to talk about stuff not related to the tests. Quiz and tests are all open book and the quizzes have multiple attempts.
all tests are online and open note so super easy course. her lectures are boring, but attendance is taken through top hat code
Tests and Quizzes were open book and note, so the class was pretty easy. I would recommend getting an online version of the textbook because many questions were straight from the book. She was very kind to her students and willing to help. However, she was quite scattered during lectures, which made it difficult to stay engaged.
