Great professor knows what she is talking about, very helpful. Tests are all online, final is two papers on movies or one in class presentation. Often throws in some of her own life experiences to make the class more relatable and fun. Attendance is mandatory. GREAT PROFESSOR!!! Highly recommend.
Great teacher. Class discussions are interesting and make class enjoyable. She is funny, and is very easy to talk to about assignments and grades. Wish I would have taken her sooner!
2nd time taking 1101. LOVED her! Very funny and friendly. Always looked forward to her class. Tests online, easy project, and attendance is mandatory. Her class is a breeze compared to Dr. Scott's. Wish I could take her again!
she's really funny but don't let that fool you! she'll put you in check and she gets snappy. the class is easy. really easy. teaches off ppts, tests are all online, if you take notes awesome but not necessary, you will need the book on the online test but nothing to worry about. class discussions is what makes the class intresting
You don't need your book. Attendance is a big part of your grade. Very easygoing class.
Take the online course because her class consists of watching Youtube and clips. I really wanted to learn something, but I feel that I walked out of class knowing just as much as I did going in. 6 papers, 4 online tests. Lecture will not help for the tests or the papers because she doesn't really teach. it's just Youtube and group work. Google = A.
Wonderful teacher! Make sure you attend class, it's a big pat of your grade. Her class is fun, organized, and keeps you interested. Make sure you read,it's important. Also while she is friendly don't let that fool you, she will put you in your place if you're rude or don't show up to class and expect her hand you everything. Take her class!
I took her Hybrid class and I loved it! She is a very easy grader and gives fun lectures. Attendance is kinda mandatory in that she will randomly take it and it will affect your grade so go to class. She is very sweet and understanding. There are weekly discussions and a journal every other week and 5 quizes all online. Book is used some. Take Her
My first Hybrid ever and I love it. Class is easy, not mandatory, but it helps since there are in class assignments. TA grades our work. Work consists of Journals and Discussions (Easy!). Tests are not too hard, review and know vocab/concepts. Very nice. I signed up for her Developmental Psych class in Fall as a Hybrid too. Enjoy! =)
Dr. Neal is AWESOME. She is hilarious and really understands college-aged kids. I took the hybrid course and we met once a week just to discuss different topics. Tests are online, where you can find most of the answers. Very smart lady. Take this course!!!!
She is the best instructor ever
Took this class as a hybrid. Met once a week, usually left early, and she kept it interesting. Miss class, lose points. Tests were fairly easy if you paid attention in class. 6 discussion posts, 6 journals, 5 tests, and 2 projects. She spread it out to where it wasn't overwhelming. I would def. recommend her.
She is a great professor. She does a lot of class participation but its so much fun. She keeps you interested in the lesson plan and answers any questions asked. Answers email in a timely manor. Her TA is awesome too. She doesn't grade hard at all. Do all the assignments before they are do and it's a easy "A" I would recommend her to anyone

This was my first class at KSU and I loved her class! She is a great professor, friendly, very funny, hip and knowledgable about psych. I took her hybrid course, tests are online. Come to class because there are class discussions and grades for attendance.
Took the hybrid class and wow. Easiest class ever. She makes it interesting because she's super cool, easy to talk to, and hilarious. Likes to bring her kids to humiliate them. Priceless. I think it's impossible to not make an A in this class if you turn in your assignments. Would highly reccomend.
Easy class but you will not learn anything. Tests are online but you might not complete them in time (45 min for about 55 questions and most questions come straight from quizlet), weekly discussions, and two projects make up your grade. You will get an A if you turn stuff in BUT she does not really "teach", only does discussions in class..
I did not learn a single thing in this class. All we do is "discuss" and it is useless. Even-though this class is EASY, I do not recommend it if you expect something out of your tuition.
What most people do in this class: make friends in your groups. Have one person take the test online and send the questions and answers to everyone else in the group. AND switch turns coming to class and signing your group member's names on your attendance flash card. EASY PEASY!!!! Don't take if you want to learn something
I LOVE HERRRR!!! She is probably the coolest professor you'll ever take. I wish I could take her again but Im graduating :(. Lol theres no way you won't like her class.
Took it as a hybrid, easy discussions every week and journals about once a month. EVERYTHING is online except in-class discussion. She's a lot of fun and always willing to help. Tests are kind of hard but they're online. Overall, the class does require a bit of work but she makes it fun and interesting.
Attendance is a huge part of your grade. Kind of brusque but super nice and really helpful. Make sure you read before class
SHE IS THE BEST I switched from Business to Psychology major because of her Its a hybrid class so you meet up 1x a week Attendance isnt mandatory BUT you do get a grade for being there The online portion has a 6 discussions (easy) 5 tests (multiple choice) 6 journals (200 words) and 2 small projects(easy)It sounds alot but it super easy take her!!!
If you are looking for an easy A with no work involved, take her. If you actually would like to learn something do not take her. Every class is a 'case study' where you discuss topics but there is no learning. Attendance is mandatory.
Took as hybrid. This class is so easy it hurts. Discussion posts or online activities due weekly. She DOES take attendance, and participation is a big part of your grade, so go to class (even though its excruciatingly boring). All we did in class was group discussion activities. Not great if you really want to learn psych. Online exams EASY A's.
I absolutely loved Dr. Neal, I will be taking her again. This was a hybrid class. She uses powerpoints and in-class group discussions. She grades on participation so attendance is important. The online portion consists of quizzes, discussions, assignments, and portfolio; expectations are explained well. Grading is fair and feedback is given.
Dr. Neal is a really good teach and she keeps her classes interesting but when you take the tests some of the questions come out of nowhere and most of the test isn't on what she says in class. But, she is really passionate in psychology and doesn't want any of her students to fail.
I absolutely love her! I would definitely take another one of her classes. We had 5 exams all online, and 2 group projects. She made class interesting and she has a great sense of humor. She does a lot of group discussions then will go over it as a whole. If you want a professor who makes learning interesting I would recommend her!
Easy class overall. Just show up and put in effort. Tests are online. 5 tests, 2 (easy) projects, 6 short (easy) writing assignments (min 200 words). Has an attendance grade. Make sure to respect her in class. She gets testy if not.
She doesn't actually teach the material, you respond to situation based scenarios in a small group and sign a piece of paper for participation. She expects you to read and know the material for the tests. All tests are online and there is no final. Super easy A. Make sure you come to class to get participation because its graded weekly
So much group discussion and group projects. Bad group and you are toast. so much outsiide work and her tests are not like what she goes over in class. Made a C and I studied.
She is an amazing teacher! As long as you do the work, you will get an A in the class. She makes class fun and enjoyable.
As long as you do your work following the grading rubric, then you will get an A. She is an enjoyable teacher and makes class fun and interesting. I would definitely take her again!!
Group Projects galore and she is a tough grader. I am a 3.85 student and I barely pullled a B. Her class is structured differently from past years. An incredible amount of work and I'm not kidding.
Dr. Neal is awesome. She is very clear about expectations, it's a 3000 level class, don't expect to be coddled. Very clear with grading following the rubric! all expectations and assignments other than class part. is on the syllabus. no topic is off limits. always willing to help. 4 tests. online. discussion-based. really wants you to do well.
Mrs. Neal is a great professor! If you show up to class, you're most likely to pass! There is a group project, but as long as you all do the work you're fine. Drops the Lowest quiz grade online. Also, look at the study guide before quizzes because she literally has everything on there!
Professor Neal is a great. If you go to class and put effort into the assignments you will do fine. What you put into the class is definitely what you get out of it. Do not show up late for class. She makes her expectations clear and I would definitely take her again!
Dr. Neal has been great for this course, & I plan to take other classes with her. She's fair in grading, makes her lectures as fun as possible, has a wonderful sense of humor, and isn't afraid to be real. There is no reason why someone should not pass this class as Dr. Neal provides clear expectations and guidelines for all students.
Make sure you are comfortable teaching yourself, reading the book and asking others for help. She does not like to answer questions if she thinks you should know the answer. If you participate in class make sure you have the correct answer or she'll make you feel stupid in front of everyone. DO NOT be late! You will not get in.
Assignments appear easy, but she is a tough grader. Lots of busy work (about 3 assignments due a week.) She can be funny, but also a bit rude. You can get an A but you have to really work for it. Be sure to ask her of the TA questions cause sometimes assignments are confusing. (I took her for Hybrid Careers)
For a class all psychology majors must take, Dr. Neal makes this class enjoyable. She outlines the course very clearly. She has a little bit of a temper, but it's when people are rude or if she has to repeat herself. Do not be late! Overall, great professor, I would definitely take her again.
Dr. Neal is a great professor! Need to show up to class and do NOT be late. Assignments can be hard but you should do fine if you read directions, take notes and show up.
Dr. Neal is the best! This class would've been hard if it wasn't for her. She give you homework assignment every week and it is really helpful with your test grades. I would have probably made a C in the class, but the homework and the in class assignments brung me up to a high B. Take her. Yes she can be snappy. Don't be late and come to class
she is kinda rude and sassy but classes are interactive. it is easy, write lots of papers do two kinda tough online quizzes a week. i took the hybrid
I took this class as a hybrid, and there was a lot of work involved. You have an Inquizitive (online program) and a quiz due every week, with additional assignments throughout the semester. Expectations are laid out clearly, so as long as you follow the rubric's the class will not be difficult. Lots of in class participation, do not skip.
Weekly assignments, in-class assignments (attendance not mandatory but does do makeups), a pre-quiz every other week, and 25 Q. quizzes. NO TESTS. Some ppl struggled with the weekly assignments, but as long as you back up your claim and put forth effort, you'll be fine. Always challenged us to think critically. Definitely will need effort for an A.
Honestly this is not a hard class, its one of the easiest classes EVER!(no exams!!) but it comes with a price, she is very rude and moody. There are weekly quizzes (everything on quizlet) and always come to class because there is no making up lost participation.
She wants you to pass. But you have to help her help you. She does not play
Overall, I was disappointed in Dr. Neal's class. I took it over the summer, so that most certainly contributed to it, but she rarely communicated. When she did it was unhelpful or one to two word replies. The final "paper" wasn't actually a paper, but a continuation of the long running assignment in the class and unnecessary.
Prof. Neal is excellent. She genuinely wants you to learn the material and get a great grade. Its a lot of work. But, she gives you everything you need and more to pass the class. You are always able to get in touch with her. EVERY possible question you have is probably in the syllabus. 12/10. would take again.
Dr. Neal was amazing, no tests or quizzes just online assignments & portfolios. I took her as a hybrid, and was very impressed. A lot of group work, but it is easy participation grades. Gives wonderful feedback while doing assignments. Would recommend this teacher.
I took this class as a hybrid! Dr. Neal is funny, but can come off as rude sometimes. Weekly activities, which involve APA and the textbook. Attendance isnt mandatory but there are often group activities that will be counted. Overall super easy class, just dont miss activities or portfolios.
This professor is just too funny! I could not get enough of her personally! I love that she is by the book. I didn't think she was rude like others thought, just wanted respect of her time. She is extremely resourceful + taking her again!
She put the instructions for the 1st assignment inside the syllabus, which was dumb. She closes assignments right at 11:59 so you cant submit after that. She gave me a 0 on an assignment that I turned in and when I emailed her she got smart. The mini lecture assignment was tedious as well. The class was ok until she started playing with my grade
Participation truly counts as a lot as your grade. If you miss a class, you're going to suffer for it in the end. There's a 50% chance you're going to like her personality, I like her personality but when it comes to a professor its a little uneasy. Also, on the first day of class she wears a "its in the syllabus" shirt but... no.
Really enjoyed this class with this professor. She made it interesting and I enjoyed coming to class each week. I'm planning on taking her for future courses. Only real grades are the online homework, 2 papers, and a presentation. I recommend Professor Neal!
All I can say is, Dr. Neal is an amazing person/professor! She makes coming to class fun, informational, & interesting! I really really enjoyed her class! She's one of those professors you want to be friends with! Deff keep contact with throughout your college career. As a plus, she doesn't believe in "grading" lol. So there wasn't any tests.
Class based solely on group work. 1-2 papers every week. Didn't feel like I actually really learned anything. She lends you the book she wants you to read. It is very long and exhaustive- I read in the beginning and stopped in the middle and turned out just fine. Just do the work she assigns and focus your research on what you like and you'll be ok
Unfortunately, Experimental is no longer a course. However, I suspect Neal is the same in all her classes. It's literally all in the syllabus. She gave multiple examples. You have to study and pay attention to succeed... it's college. Don't be afraid to ask questions; she doesn't bite. If you're willing to work, she's willing to help.
Dr. Neal is the best! She is funny & super smart. Her UTA's were super helpful and you could actually tell that they knew what they were talking about. Her class has no tests but is composed of mostly quizzes, assignments & portfolios. Honestly, if you show up, engage and participate, you'll pass. UTILIZE UTA'S!!! 10/10 would recommend.
You have two big papers, but every week you have to write a two page paper based on a boring video that usually doesn't have much to do with the course material. For the two papers, there is no clear instructions on how to write it or what needs to be in it other than a vague rubric. Too little explanations for the major assignments.
Careers was easy, but the professor was very unclear with everything and wouldnt really help if students asked questions. Group activities in class made people very confused. The TAs were great though and helped so much! Activities were easy and portfolios were a bit time consuming but other than that its an easy A. Textbook used!!
Neal is a nice lady. She can be mean if you get on her bad side though, so watch out. The class consists of lectures followed by a group activity. Outside of class there are a few quizzes, 12 small online assignments, and 5 large online assignments. FYI she hates when her door slams if you come in late, so don't be that person.
There are much better people to take than her.
Prof. Neal is one of the best professors in Psychology. I took her three times and I never seen such a funny person. She is really caring and interacts with her students. I wish I took my other classes with her as well. Take her you will enjoy her classes and her teaching!
This woman is so dismissive if you ever need to visit during office hours or email her etc. The entire class is based off of whether you agree with what she says or gives as material. Beware of disagreeing or having an original thought. She doesn't have time for that. An extremely rigid grader. Do not take the class.
Do not take her. Took her once and PURPOSELY did not sign up with her again but then my prof left mid-semester and she took over my course. She is sassy and is not willing to hear student concerns. She wants you to fail, period. I think it makes her feel smarter or something. If you want to learn and get a good grade, do not take dr neal.
Maybe she was a good professor before Covid, but this has definitely changed. She took over our class mid semester and turned a class that I really enjoyed into something I hated. I tried reaching out for help multiple times and basically got a "oh well, you must not be trying hard enough." It is like talking to an arrogant and stubborn child.
Honestly, I really enjoyed this class then mid-semester professor Neal came in and turned it upside down. Idk why they would call her a professor because she did not teach at all, everything you learned had to come from reading hundreds of pages in the textbook. Also she is super unhelpful and replies to emails in an extremely rude manner.
Dr. Neal was incredibly unprofessional and hard to please. While her rubrics were extensive they said little about what exactly you need and specific requirements. Whenever I would try to reach out I was greeted with rude comments and bullying. I stressed every minute of this class and it was a nightmare.
Worst professor Ive ever had in my entire college career. Took over my class midsemester & the whole class was failing her quizzes. We were all passing w/the old prof. It was more than clear that she was the problem but she wouldnt take any responsibility even if her life depended on it. Rude, stubborn and arrogant. Just absolutely horrible.
Ive never met this professor personally so I can only go off her course criteria. For this class it wasnt difficult material but the directions for completing assignments is very unclear and confusing. It is also very assignment heavy which is why that is so damaging.
Originally I was meant to take this course in person until it got switched online likely due to the pandemic. It was obvious she didnt convert her material to fit with an online setting. We were still meant to create group papers which is increasingly difficult when you can only do it through text. Very unclear directions for work as well.
Like others said, she became my professor for psych of gender mid-semester. She was harder than the last professor, but I dont think she was too bad. I didnt have to reach out to her though, so I cant comment on if she is rude or not. Overall, she wasnt too hard. A lot of reading though.
I've had Dr Neal for three classes now at KSU, and earned As in all three. Dr Neal is funny and genuinely cares about her students! Textbook citations are required for her classes. As long as you keep up with the work, this class should be an easy A for you!
This professor took over my class about halfway through the semester, didn't really offer much course content and Instead, she expected us to read hundreds of pages in the textbook to prepare for quizzes, which were extremely difficult and had hyper-specific questions. I had an A in this class before this professor took over. Plus she was very rude
Dr. Neal believes that lecturing and teaching us what will be on quizzes/exams goes against the integrity of the program. If you want to spend thousands of dollars to read 100's of pages and be tested on that only, then Dr. Neal is your girl! She does not teach. Her job must be so easy from the lack of work she does. Wouldnt take her ever again.
I truly want to be objective because Dr. Neal was not black and white terrible. However, she truly weeds out people that are not able to withstand a cold and unforgiving prof. She was unapproachable because of her condescending announcements she would post in response to student's genuine questions. If you want a kind prof, don't take her.
She's so bad that it makes me think that the most recent positive rating was written by herself. Thats how insane this lady is. She's living in her own little world oblivious to the how the real world works. The type of prof that'll fail you if you don't agree with her beliefs. Nearly impossible to pass. As if she wants to add stress to your life.
I really dont know what to say besides that I still dont know the point of this class lol I gained nothing but experience with working with a somewhat difficult professor. You never can get a straight answer with her and shes a tough grader. All assignments are group assignments aside from the discussion posts. Instructions are not always clear
The textbook is your teacher. For your own sake, please listen to these negative reviews. She likes to act like she cares (just for show so she can say she tried), but the second you have a question or a problem it becomes very clear she doesn't care about you or your grade. Just an overall terrible person and professor.
Weekly discussion boards, require textbook citations- easy if you try. Final paper, graded a little harsh but overall easy. Test are not monitored and are found easily on quizlet. Easy a if you try on discussion boards.
I took her Psychology of Gender class over the summer. The class itself is pretty straight forward, you can use your notes for the unit tests. However, I personally think she grades a little too harsh and she doesn't round your overall final grade which really stinks. Especially if you were on the boarder to a decent grade. Wouldn't take her again.
Honestly she gets a bad reputation when she's great. Her class is interesting and not that hard. She continually lets her students know she's willing to help them , you just have to reach out. Tests aren't hard and she has good lectures.
She was an outstanding professor. Her lectures was very entertaining and fun.
Excellent professor. Course is Capstone Seminar 4499. Lots of writing, but she is easy to get in touch with and is willing to help you.
There were weekly writing assignments, extra writing assignments called checkpoints, one of which I was failed on when I followed instructions to a T. Book is mandatory, and EACH CLASS counts for 25 points on your final grade. Great if you're able to go every day, horrible if you can't. You do get 4 absences but that's it. Trust me- DO NOT TAKE
