She tries very hard to get you learn. If you show up to class every day and do your homework you will pass without a doubt. She is not trying to trick anyone, she wants to teach.

She tries very hard to make sure that her students are understanding. She is clear and concise when she lectures, but she tends to make some minor mistakes while doing some problems. Overall however she is a good teacher.

the best math teacher ive had...shes such a sweet lady...kids around...gives study guides...goes over things untill everyone gets it...tests arent that hard...gives points for just attemping math problems...id recommend her class.

This is the teacher you want to take. She knows how to prepare her students. But you do also have to do homework every single day just like ANY other math class. She's the nicest professor i've had so far. She laughs and cares too much about her students. Which is a great thing. Take her!

She is really great! That is the truth. She cares about the students which shows in her everyday work. She never comes unprepared for the class, always smiles, and tries to make you understand. She makes little mistakes, but who does not!? She is a beautiful human being. Her classes are fun.

Mrs Sutcliff, is the bomb, she care for each and every student, when your not in class she'll notice and make sure someone get's the work to you. On the final she gives u a second chance to pass if failing. I wish i had her for all my previous math courses. I LOVE HER AND WILL NEVER FORGET HER.

SHE DOES NOT WASTE TIME TALKING, WITH HER IS RIGHT TO BUSINESS. SHE COLLECTS HOMEWORK EVERYDAY AND RETURNS IT THE FOLLOWING DAY. SHE GRADES VERY QUICKLY. HER TEST HAVE PROBLEMS THAT YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN BEFORE BUT RELATED TO THE HOMEWORK. SHE IS THE BEST TEACHER I EVER HAD.

BEST MATH TEACHER EVER!!!!!!.....she is really nice and helpful. Her test are easy as long as you take good notes and do the homework. She is the nicest thing in the world so don't be afraid to ask questions.

VERY THOROUGH! She'll give you what you need to do well. what you do with it, is up to you! She'll introduce new topic, then always review it following day before moving on.. Show up for class,take notes,study notes & pass. You don't need to buy book if you go to class!

I know Calc is hard and stuff, but she did explain everything and she offered to help anytime plus people had the Math Lab, I like failed 3 of 6 tests got a C in the final and she gave me a C, 99% of who stayed in the class PASSED, one person who totally failed everything didn't, so there you go.. I'm taking her for Calc 2 :D

I hate Math period but she is a very good teacher. She makes the class enjoyable. Take her. You won't regret it.

She is chanllanging and to the point, not messing around. She is very smart and professional -she knows her stuff, not only MATH but how to teach it. She turns in homework or tests on time. She also postes grades immidiately. Yeah, she is hot looking too.

She is OK for Calculus I and Calculus II, but I don't think she is good for Calculus III.

She is a great teacher. I was always interested and she has a lot of hope in her students. She wants everyone to pass and has a kind heart. The thing is, "You always have to practice". She really cant stress that enough. Her tests are not easy but not impossible. Her final was way easier then her regular tests.

She is ver nice teacher. Always worried that everyone understand her teaching. If you practice and study you'll 100% get "A" she also gives us a practice test before the real test which is helpful. Take her class you'll learn a lot from her. I really gonna miss Ms. Sutcliffe

she's the most adorable, filipino teacher ever! she makes understanding basic algebra very easy. but her "homework-is-not-mandatory" policy will only work for the smart people who can "get" math very quickly. but if you're like all other mortals.. DO THE HOMEWORK. coz without practicing your math skills.. you're bound to fail her class

She is the most incredible, teacher I have ever had. I used to not trust myself with math, but in both her clases 115 and 125, I got a high A. After her, I took more math classes, thinking the next teachers would be as amzing as her, but It just ended up disapointing me. If you want to learn math for reals, then take her. We need more like her.

She is very caring! Do your homework and listen to her lectures and you can easily get an "A" I really enjoyed having her as a professor. She is one of the Best I've ever had. Highly recommend

Prof. S is amazing. She will help you which ever way she can. She cares about all of her students. She doesnt require that you purchase a book because she has material that she has writen. She has workshops and offers extra help. Do the homework and the worksheets because if you dont your grade will suffer.

You don't have to show up to her class to get an A and you doesn't require a textbook!! She is college level yet very easy. Her tests are super easy!

if it wasn't for this women i'd hate math...she helped me so much its unbelieveable..she really is the best...no text book..just her notes, and a few tests. she gives partial cradit like no other...very easy if you try.

Great teacher. Very helpful. Homework is not required or turned in but is good for practice. Tests are not multiple choice and calculators are not allowed but she is a fair grader and gives partial credit. If you use her website resources you probably don't even need to buy the book.

NOOOOO teacher will ever compare to this teacher. Math was my worst subject, but the way she teaches, the book she has written has made it so clear for me. Not only is she a good teacher but she has feelings she will do anything she can to boost up your grade,well of course you have to work for it but she will give you that opportunity.wont regret

Just about finished with 125 class. Very nice teacher who will work with you to any extent in order for you to understand the material. 4-6 tests, Very little checked homework, and some in class group assignments (they are good, they help your grade). Attendance not mandatory but highly recommended.. it is easy to get lost in the class.

If you see her class open, IMMEDIATELY take her! She listens to students in need of help, and slows down for you. Can be 'speedy' at first, but she's really nice and you will UNDERSTAND, PASS, & LOVE MATH!

Love this teacher! I used to be rather afraid of math but she took that away. She helps in any way to make her students get a good grade, but she's not a push-over. Do your homework, get involved and you will pass.

Sutcliffe is the most passionate prof Ive ever seen. At 1st she seemed intimidating, but shortly after I loved her! She went out of her way to film lectures & post it online for all her students to view. Do your HW and practice a lot! You will do fine! Take advantage of her practice tests, they are very helpful. If she offers EC, DO IT!

Goes out of her way to do her best at trying to get students to understand the subject. Calculus 3 is hard, but she gives you so many opportunities to improve your grade and ask for help. She teaches from the book. Her test are extremely hard and long so do your hw and you'll be fine.

Professor sutcliffe was the best. I hated math..i couldnt even stand the word math.. she changed all this for me. She explains it too clear it almost makes you love math. You just gotta do your homework and study and for sure you'll pass this class

Mrs. Sutcliffe is AMAZING. I took 4 different math classes from her. I made sure I always got her because she makes math classes the way they should be... straightforward. She is the very best at LAVC. Highly recommended.

She is amazing!!! She might go a little too fast and she does not require homeworkd but it is helpful!!! she wants everyone to do better and gives lots of examples and does youtube videos of math as well if you missed a class...HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER!!! :D

She is a wonderful lady. I always hated math but i enjoyed going to her class. Her youtube videos are very helpful and she always helps you out. She never gives homework but you do class work everyday in class which is very helpful and you can work with partners. LOVED HER CLASS. SHES VERY KIND.

Great teacher! so sweet, she gives lots of opportunity for extra credit. the book is mandatory but it is cheaper than any other math book she has her own teaching method i recommend you read up on it before you sign up for the class because it may not be for everyone you either hate it or love it. i learned a lot :)

She's awesome,she gives a lot of extra credit and she drops your lowest test score. She doesn't lecture though. But she does have videos on youtube(I never really watched them though), but her little book for math 115 is helpful. Btw you will need 2 different books for math 115,but they're not that expensive compared to other math books.Take her!:)

Very experienced professor. Professor Sutcliffe is a lively one. She has a new method for learning called "Flip the Switch."Flip the Switch is a method where the student attends class at home and does homework in class. She drops the lowest score, and gives A LOT of extra credit opportunities.

Love Sutcliffe she is a character and brings positive energy to classroom everyday. Her method of "flip the switch " is actually a good thing, it forces you to study and do the work. I would of done better in class but I got lazy. Looking forward to Math 125 with her. Take her she helps you if you struggle and give extra credit

She is very passionate about teaching and really cares for her students. She really wants everyone to succeed and does her best to motivate everyone. She is firm about her grading on tests, but gives you opportunities to retake. You will succeed if you briefly read the material the night before and come to class with a slight understanding.

Get ready to study. Stucliffe is very smart and always smiles but has a hard time explaining things sometimes. Her tests are not just the problems from the book, they are worded in ways that test to see if you really understand the concepts you learn. You need to do a lot of homework, practice, and really know what you are doing in order to pass.

Took her summer sessions. She has her own text book and workbook, but her textbook is affordable, short, and pretty clear; that's good. Opportunities for extra credit. She wants everyone to pass and helps you, but you gotta do the work. If you study, do the practice work, and make sure you utilize extra credit, you'll pass, I guarantee it.

this class was alright. She helps you if you ask. there is a cumulative final and a lot of quizzes but they weren't very hard. She's laughs quite a lot, it's pretty funny. at first she may seem like she doesn't care but give it a few days, she really wants the best for her students.

Sutcliffe cares for her students. She expects you to read the chapter before you come to class; this is college that is what is expected of you in every class. She went above and beyon to help all her students, she was fair and she would take time to hold group studies to help out outside the classroom. Take her if you want to learn and aren't lazy

Loved her!!! She is an amazing professor and truly cares about her students. There is a lot of hw but that is because you must practice math in order to understand it. I always struggled with math and the first time I ever got an A on a math test was with her. Will definitely take her for my next math class. Highly recommend!!!

Super funny teacher, I'm taking her again. You do have to sacrifice time to do her given assignments but it's not hard. The best part is she will explain till everyone understands it. Got an A but worked for it.

OMG I love her so much!!! One of the sweetest and caring professors I've ever had. She truly cares about every single student and wants you to pass. Just show her you're trying your best and she'll reward you. You can fail every test but if you pass the final you pass the class :) take her

Class isn't mandatory just show up for the exams. She expects you to know your stuff. Only reason I wasn't so confused was because I had taken this class the semester before. Get her books too because that's what you'll use for classwork.

This professor proves her dedication towards helping her students because she never gives up. She allows so many opportunities to get help and sincerely wants her students to do their best and succeed. In all honesty, her philopsphy for passing math was all about showing up to class, paying attention, and practicing. I definitely recommend her!

She is AMAZING!! i havent taken a math class for 10 years. Summer course seemed overwhelming the first couple of days. Class ends 15 minutes early so you can approach her and she will work on the problems with you. She is great !!! I passed the class with A+ IF YOU FAIL HER CLASS- ITS BECAUSE YOU DIDNT TRY.--- She is Simply Amazing and Caring.

She is a great teacher you just got to look at your little book notes and try to understand it or have a picture when you come to class. she really does care and wants you to pass talk to her and show interest if you don't at least try you will fail and get lost.

Her style is very different. Her homework is notes, not work problems. It took my awhile to get used to it, but she IS GOOD. She really knows what she is doing and is passionate about the subject and her students. Never give up and you'll be okay. You learn a lot about life in this class.

(Fall 2015) You don't have to go to every class session but points will be deducted from your final grade. I feel as though she had bumped my grade up. She's very caring and what matters to her the most is that you try. Math isn't always easy and she knows that. The final is cumulative. You have to buy the text/workbook she has made, inexpensive

Ms sutcliffe is a very nice teacher not only as a teacher but also as a person. She inspired students to pass the class even if you are really bad at math. I would definitely take her again. She gives you a lot of opportunities to pass the class and her teaching skill is excellent

best math teacher-i HATE math, but she is so real and fun and a good teacher. iactually enjoyed her class n did well in the class. come to class, participate, show that you care- trust me it makes a difference. The hw is extra credit but it also helps you keep up w the info. Her text/workbook is great, and so is she. Wish she taught higher maths

Spring Session. Do not miss her class, she has set up her own textbook in hope that people will understand math, please make sure your are comfortable with at least math 110. Devote extra time outside of class. Homework is easy. Even if you get the answer wrong she will give you points for starting the problem.

She gives you all the tools you need to be successful- its your responsibility to use them. Homework is optional, attendance isnt mandatory (youll get more points on your grade the longer you stay). She's not going to spoon feed you success, you have to work for it. Good practice for transferring to a 4 year school. Do the work, read, youll be fine

i fail two math classes before I took her and then finally passed the class thanks to her ! She really cares for her students and I love that she laughs a lot ! It's gonna be up to you and the way you want to learn in her class ! If you fail the first test don't droop the class she just wants to see you trying and working hard. !!!

People who have written bad reviews probably didn't even try. I took her for Winter 2017 ( 5 week course) AND intense but if she sees that you try and that you put in effort then she will help you in return. She laughs but never at YOU! She's super sweet and if I could I would definitely take her for a regular semester but Stat 101 awaits. TAKE HER

I LOVED Theresa. Her class is "learner friendly". She's structured her class to give you every chance to learn. Just put in the time and actually DO the math. Her expectations are clear, and she gives you all the material you could possibly need to succeed in her class. She laughs frequently at herself, not you. Can't wait to take Math125 with her!

Highly recommend taking Math 125 with Teresa Sutcliffe. If you are not an individual that tests well, she offers plenty of extra credit opportunities. Attend and participate in class, earn those extra credit points. Read syllabus, provides all info in regards to grading. Its a Math class, a lot of work. practice, practice and participate.

Professor Teresa is amazing. I took her for Math 110 and Math 125 and loved it. She gives a lot of extra credit and her grading system is very clear. If you don't get it she will take her time to explain it to you and if you still don't get it, she will stay after class with you and explain it again. She is really one a kind professor!

Honestly one of the easiest math professors. Its impossible to not pass her class. She offers extra credit points everyday! If you stay till the end of class she will also give extracredit! She allows 1-2 pages of notes for each exam. She even let us use 5 pages of notes for our final last semester. She really wants her students to pass

Easiest math professor. She gives extra credits, a lot. Just by staying in class and reciting. You must also do your Big Book problems and Little Book notes in order to get it. And she also offers 1-2 pages of notes for exams. P.S if you are not a fast learner and want to really learn not just by doing the extra credits, reconsider taking her.

Prof Surcliffe was amazing ! She gives you every opportunity to pass! Shes very patient & understands that math is dificult. Please take her shes great .

Do the Big Book problems and Little Book HW. She gives lots of EC just by participating in class and staying in her class. Her lectures are clear. She is also really nice. You can ask her questions in her office or after class. If you want an easy A, take her. :)

Calculus is freaking hard. Professor Sutcliffe offers so much extra credit that you could get enough points to not even take the final and still have an A in the class. She gives extra credit points for being in class, participating, doing homework, etc. Will you learn anything? Probably not. But do you need to know calculus outside of this class?

Lovely professor very caring. She offers plenty of extra credit. She goes step by step in her study guides. PARTICIPATE and youll be good, do the big book in class. Show you CARE! This teacher is a beautiful soul in lavc and an amazing professor. I always had problems with math since first grade, and she helped me understand every single thing. amaziiiiing

Enrolled in Spring 2020 transitioned to online due to COVID. Attendance is Mandatory. Homework is optional (not graded). Exams LIVE on Zoom video must be on. You'll only be graded on the 5 Exams (70% of grade) + Final Exam (30% of grade) ***Allowed 1 page back/front for Cheat Sheet*** GRADING RUBRIC: 86-100 A 76- 85 B 61- 75 C 51- 60 D <51 F

This course is hard, but if you attend every lecture, participate and do all of the homework shells you'll be just fine.

I really liked this Professor. She goes over many examples of problems to allow the material to sink in. YOU do have to study for the exams. She is gracious and gives you a heads up on what to study. She also gives lots of extra credit if you participate. She is very fair and tries to give everyone a chance to get credit. Really good at explaining.

Professor has little patience but she does try to assist you as much as possible. Take notes and review your notes you will pass.

Amazing remote instructor. Grades assignments and tests fast, is straightforward about testing material, is super-organized about getting stuff on Canvas. Quizzes are open-book. Doesn't try to trick you- tests not too hard. Puts in the time and effort to help you do great in Calc. Good sense of humor. 100% recommended.

I was skeptical about taking a math 125 class online, but after taking with this professor. She made math so easier to learn. This winter class went by so quick and I am glad I took it with her. She teaches you everything one by one and shows you an equation step by step. I have never seen a professor teach you an equation step by step. Thank you.

Great Professor but difficult. No homework and ALL TEST grades. Lets you create a note sheet to use at least. Exam is hard (especially for Calc 2, which is hard). You have to get 100 Participation (basically participate 100 times) points and yes, she's great. Fast grader although you have to copy questions from the screen, which is just dumb.
