Very responsive to student needs. Answers to questions sometimes contain jargon that makes explanation difficult to understand. Administratively mistake-prone. Excellent assignments and tests. Cares about subject and students. Recommend.

I would recommend her for someone who likes to do a lot of writing cause thats what she wants. She requires a lot of exercises but they are very helpful. Her tests are easy and has an exciting project. You might be scared of her sometimes and she's an anti-Schwarzenegger so don't joke about it!!!!

Class is NOT easy. Barely got away with a C because she felt sorry for me. She is a good teacher, but the material is hard. She'll help you but you have to ask for it. Come talk to her during her office hours and she'll like you more. If you don't wanna study, dont take the class!

She is hard to understand at times in class but she is never unhelpful and she is always open to helping you in her free time. Overal amazing person and a great teacher. If you dont want to work dont take her for she will flunk you.

She is definitely the best teacher I've had at SMC. On-line she is responsive, organized, helpful and fair. She expects participation and assigns just enough homework to help you learn the material but without overburdening you. I highly recommend her.

Good teacher, best to talk to her after hours to if one is confused.

She will challenge you, but it's not overwhelming. If you take advantage of all the help she provides to you on eCompanion, there's no way you don't earn a grade of B or higher. The most organized teacher I have come across by far. Very recommended.

What an amazing teacher! She is so organized and prepared for every class! Always makes sure that you are prepared for tests and provides plenty of opportunity through HW and Quizzlers to understand material. I would recommend her for anyone taking Acctg 1 or 2.

Teri is a very good teacher,she really help you understand the material and goes directly to what is useful for the student.She is not hard not easy. I do recommend her as one of the best Acc teachers at SMC.

Bernstein is very organized and thorough - sometimes too thorough, always responsive to student e-mails, extremely fair and clearly cares about what she does (which can't be said for some of her collegues). If you MUST take intermediate accounting on-line, take it with Bernstein.

I purposely took her as my Acct 2 teacher b/c of the ratings listed here and b/c I wanted to LEARN accting which is my major!!! I highly recommend her, you will never be bored with her stories and she KNOWS her stuff and KNOWS how to explain accouting.

Professor Bernstein is the best teacher I had at SMC! I took her for 2 classes and don't regret a moment of it. If you wanna learn, have fun, and do well, take her!

Bernstein is the best, if you really want to learn accounting take her. Best professor I have every had, took her for Acctg 1&2 and it was just the greatest experience, if U R reading these comments and still decide not to take her, u r making the right decision,lazy students do not apply!!!!!

If your thinking of enrolling in Accounting 1 or 2,Professor Berstein is the teacher to take. Her classes are very organized, she gives plenty of opportunities to improve your grade, and provides helpful practice problems before the midterm and final. It's not an easy class but if you study and do your work you'll get a good grade.

Great Teacher, well organized courses. i had her for both acct 1 and 2. the grading is fair and she gives u lots of oppertunities to improve. how much time you put in to this class is what you will get. if you do the minimum work you should pass with no problems. good thing is her course is tied with the textbook, so there is no outside info

Class was challening, but I learned a lot. A MUST take for acct majors as she is the best. Teri was very organized and helpful to her students, and is always available business hours. My only complaint was that I didn't take her for acct 1 so I was in for a shock for acct 2. A lot of homework, but all well worth it for the invaluable education

If you can't pass her class, you don't belong in business! She takes time to help you in every way, even makes notecards for you to study with, online quizzes, etc. HW, participation and one EASY project to raise your grade. She makes jokes to entertain, keeps class interactive. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED! 5unit class with 3unit workload, seriously.

i took her last fall, i agree she can be mean. she's really sarcastic and totally biased at times. don't recommend her unless you're sure of being one that she'll favor. teaches well though, so if that's what you're looking for, go ahead. other than that, grades, uh-uh!

Okay this is coming from a person who DESPISES ACCOUNTING and isnt good at it. When you walk in, she seems kind of scary, but you do warm up to her and she does provide you with points to help your grade. her main goal is to make sure you get it and that you wont fail. Shes not easy but if you work for it youll get that A.

Do your homework, study all the quizzler,do the projects. I am sure you will get at least B.

Great Acctg teacher! Knows what she's talking about. HAs a tendency to babble on and on though. But nonetheless, a good teacher to take

Very fair, nice and helpful professor. She replies to your email very promptly, class materials are very useful, and exam was pretty basic stuff from each chapter. Q-activity was sometimes pretty tricky and hard, but she also gave us the extra credit project to earn some points. Liked her class very much!!

I took ACC1 & 2 with her. Very very fair and helpful. Her classes are very organized and she gives quizzlers to practice which is 90% similar to the midterm and final. If you want to learn and get that A, take her! However, not for lazy student. Highly recommand. Best accounting professor in SMC. Thank you so much!

Very fair and clear. Replies emails very promptly. Works hard in online classes. Tests covers everything from each chapter, but questions are basic. In online classes, she requires discussion in chatroom, and you have to think actively to ask and answer others' questions to earn points - this is time consuming. Overall, very excellent teacher.

Really a great teacher. I looked forward to being in this class all the time. She is a character and very funny and entertaining, but she is human and is not all fun and games; mutual respect is key. Class content was extremely helpful and engaging, and I got a good paying, entry level accting job from the knowledge I gained. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Best class I have taken so far. She makes things clear and easy to unerstand. Pretty much oyu learn from her elctures so dont miss a day of class. Really nice and she wants you to succeed

*ONLINE* I took Prof B on the recommendation of another accounting teacher at SMC. He said that all of her students very prepared for his class. After taking her, I agree. Not overly tough class but plenty of work. I suggest reading the book, watching the video lectures and then doing your homework in 1 sitting. It will drive home the concepts.

Great teacher at all.Helps as much as she can,she assighnes the homework and if u do the homework you should be fine.She is little sensitive and emotional.Takw her,you will learn alot.

Took online classes with her, both ACCT1 and ACCT2. Very satisfied. She is responsive and willing to help. She is also very understanding and flexible. Class is very structured & predictable - one chapter, small homework assignment, small quiz, & a few posts. Do all that and know the material and you will do well in the class.

She's a great teacher! Totally fair, if you learn slowly she'll slow it all down until you completely get the concepts. If you learn quickly, she doesn't let you keep bored. GREAT teacher, lots of extra credit. I totally recommend her!!

great teacher!!! highly recomend.. theres 15 quizes and she makes u do group quizes which makes it easier and has midterm and final. class is really easy.. there is homework every week, but its fairly simple. Go to class because the book is okay but she explains better. had a good time in her class, she gives ALOT of extra credit, very helpful!

Best professor at SMC. Gives extra credit and is very negotiable. The class is very straightfoward with 12 quizzes, 12 homeworks, 1 midterm, 1 final. She dropps the lowest quiz and homework grade. I highly recommend her for accounting 1 and 2, even if you have to take her online classes. I hated accounting but she made it a lot easier.

Great teacher. If you plan on taking accounting 1, take it with her and you will learn everything you need for accounting 2.

She's one of the best professors I've had in SMC. Very approachable, kind and helpful. Uses eCompanion and lets u keep track of your grades. Drops lowest quiz and hw. And gives lots of extra credit for you to make up for quiz grades as well. Take her, you won't regret it!

I took her online class. It was tough at the beginning and the reading, which you have to do if you want to even kind of know what's flying, was a bore and a half, but if you really put in the effort, you'll do ok. A good homework partner would be ideal for the class though...

Fantastic Professor!!! Teaches well, helps, and wants you to get that "A". Tons of work but the more you do it, the easier it gets. She's great! She doesn't have that chili pepper on here for nothing!

I would not recommend taking this class online because the material is hard to learn yourself without a lecture. (your basicly teaching yourself) Many frustrated nights for me. But if you have to take online, Bernstein was good. She really wants her students to succeed & gives a decent amount of extra credit. She seems like a good teacher.

for the ACCT2 online class, do you take the final and midterm in a classroom or online as well? Does she drop any of the lowest scores?

On campus. Very helpful, really wants the students to get the stuff. She is like a mom, very sweet and smart. Def, take her if you didn't master Acct 1 she will def help you. I can see how an online class could be more challenging so on campus is the way to go.

Have to take note! She gives clear information about the test, extra credit for doing online homework. The class is pretty chill. If u do your homework and study, you should be good. ---->IS THERE ANY CLASS DOEST REQUIRE STUDY AND GET A???? Come on....is accounting 2.......

The professor really tries to help the students succeed. There is a lot of extra credit opportunities available and she makes accounting interesting.

Very helpful, wants all of her students to succeed. Lectures are boring, but she tries her best to help you understand the material. Make sure you don't fall behind in the class. She gives tons of extra credit so don't worry. I got over a 96% in the class. Pay attention in class and STUDY HER SAMPLE MIDTERM/FINAL--very similar to the actual exams.

Professor Bernstein has been really helpful in my accounting 2 class in the fall 2010. She is able to explain the material with simple words. For an example, she brought snacks to explain about manufacturing materials. You dont have to understand the book really well as long as you attend her class and listen to her lecture. TAKE OR CRASH HER CLASS

Once, she brought snacks to explain manufacturing chapter which is hard, and it helps me a lot. Study the midterm n final sample which is very similar to the real one. Attend the class and dont miss the lecture!

Great professor! Very helpful and cares about her students. Grades fairly. Makes a boring subject fun and interesting by relating it to her own life experiences. I got an A in the class because I did the hw which prepared me for the quizzes and exams. There is extra credit which helped a ton! Take her.

I took online. She is the greatest professor. Not easy, not hard. At first, it seems hard, but she is always there for you to help. Plus, LOTS OF EXTRA CREDITS!!

I have taken 5 online business classes and Professor Bernstein was the best instructor. Her syllabus and task calendar clearly list the required assignments as well as the extra credit opportunities. I had some individual issues that needed her assistance and the professor was very helpful. She provides lots of resources to help the students learn.

I took Bernstein's ACCT 2 online during Spring 2011. She is an extremely bright woman with an intense passion for accounting who provides rigorous treatment of the subject. I had the pleasure of meeting her and she's the real deal -- that rare, high-quality community college instructor who could teach at university if she wanted.

I took her online class and she's really responsive which is good for this type of setting. She gives credit for participation and her syllabus is crystal clear as far as deadline ----- Yes she sticks to it! She uses a new book which is 10 times better than what I had in Acctg 1. I guess I will do self-study from Chap 1 to 12. Take her... Take her!

Took her online course & enjoyed it. I knew very little about acct, so the class was difficult for me. It's a lot of work, but she's helpful & clear. Be prepared to do lots of work & you can get an A. Plus she offers lots of extra credit. Very good teacher if you work hard & submit your hm on time.

ACCT2 online:Her class is not easy! You are graded on weekly homework, quiz, and class participation. Tough exams but you can also earn extra credit during the course. Instructor is very engaged in the class and you can tell she really enjoys the subject. You will learn a lot, just be prepared to work hard. Very clear instructions and syllabus.

Material is hard, however if you need help professor is willing to help. There are many extra credit opportunties. She gives alot of work which are very time consuming, but it's good practice. I would not recommend taking this class online if you had a hard time in accounting 1. I studied my butt off and received a B.

Acct'g 2 is difficult enough but taking an online course during the summer is even more hard. Prof Bernstein challenged the students but also encouraged us as well. Her class is tough but she does a good job in helping prep the students face the challenging material. she is passionate about teaching & really cares about her students. She is awesome

Class is so hard. She asks too much of her students. Q&A discussion, class participation. Theory questions that are irrelevant. So many things to do. You're better off taking another professor. She has nothing better to do. Her passion for this subject + she having nothing else better to do most probably results in this insane workload

Incredibly helpful. Wants everyone to do well. She allows a notecard with information for each test so not much studying required. I understood about 60% of the material from class but the homework concretized the remaining 40%. Always felt prepared for the tests. Easy A if you do the homework and go to class.

Fun, easy going professor. The class is pretty easy for an Accounting class. Could have been more clear on some topics, some chapters were really rushed. Easy A, online homework is mandatory, but easy, tests are easy. Weekly quizzes, 1 midterm, 1 final. Overall relaxing class, but probably not in depth enough if you're an accounting major.

She is the funniest most entertaining teacher. I took her for acctg. 1 and she's very helpful and really cares about the students... knows everyone by name. Stay on top of the online homework and you should get an A

Loved Professor Bernstein! Very pleasant with a great sense of humor. Left the class with a true understanding of the material. Method of teaching is excellent; really makes the material crystal clear and easy to follow. Easy A as long as you attend class and keep up with the work, which is far from demanding. A very genuine and kind professor. Coursework wasn't particularly difficult: just do the online homework - if you like the subject you'll do well. She allows you to bring in notecards for the tests - can't be much more forgiving short of being open book. She doesn't go off-track much like other professors, but is funny and entertaining nonetheless.

Go to every class and take notes, you'll get attendance and class work points. Do homework online And extra credit, they're good practice. Spend some time to make a good note card for the midterm and final. Professor is great, experienced and funny just don't interrupt or disrespect her, she's a mom and is scary like one when she gets serious.

I loved this class. Regular attendance is key as is keeping up with homework. Do that and you will be met with ample reward (points). Very understanding and easy to wrok with. I left the class with a fundamental comprehension of the rudiments of accounting. HIGHLY recommended.

She is really great. I came away from the class with a comprehensive understanding of the rudiments of accounting. She cares about her students and is happy to help regularly. Regular attendance is recommended as well as keeping up with homework, these are key. Notecards allowed on tests so its not hard to do well.

If you want a professor who actually cares about her students, then take Professor Bernstein's class! She puts in the effort to learn everyone's names, and she is always available during her office hours if you have any questions. Generally, there are weekly quizzes after each chapter. Love this professor! She is so cute and funny. Most importantly, the class is easy to get an A. Keep up with your online homework and do whatever she wants you to do. Easy midterm(with note card ), easy quizzes(lots of take-home ones). If you get a high score before final, you will be excused from taking final! Take this professor!!!!

Professor Bernstein is definitely one of the best teachers I have ever had. There are a lot of quizzes but I found these helpful in preparing for midterm and final. Go to her office hours! She truly cares about her students and as long as you follow directions and keep up with the course material, you'll do well.

Very good professor. I took the class because I needed the credit but I found this class extremely interesting and Professor Bernstein is definitely a huge part of it.

Professor Bernstein is great. She is respectful, makes the material interesting, and demonstrates, in class, EXACTLY what you need to know to get an A! My only criticism of Prof-she isn't very descriptive in explaining HOW to get to the answer. But let's be real, Acct 2 is a hard class. She is the Best teacher I have had in a long time!! Take her!
