All the tests are multiple choice and are difficult.
Hard professor bus extreamly interesting, take his class if you want to work out your brain. GREAT GUY, very helpful and forgiving.
I think that he is one of the worst teachers I ever had. He is pompas and arrogant which are not good qualities of teachers that are suppose to help students. I know more about his family than I do about psychology.
Lectures were interesting but tests were too hard.
boring teacher, makes a lot of family references. hard tests, not worth going to class because it doesn't make much of a difference if you read the textbook. you'll fall asleep easily.
Deak is a very smart guy, and demanding of his students. His tests are fair, and they'll accurately measure how much you know. If you're lazy you'll do bad, otherwise, if you want to learn psyc, Deak is a great guy to take it with.
makes you work
took a seminar with him... was a great guy, listens and is considerate/respectful, and gave me a great recommendation that probably helped me get into grad school!
His class is toooo hard for no reason!!! Even if you study your *** off there is no way you can get an A.!!!
He makes the class challenging and interesting. He is extremely intelligent and a great guy. I worked really hard though and only got a B.
Class is BORING. Better off reading the text book. Not a particularly nice person. Makes psych 111 tests difficult just for the hell of it.
I had a run in with him one time in class and he said to me that a petition i wanted to hand in made him look like a f*cking idiot. he is very arrogant and his test are crazy. Dont take it unless you want a c
Good teacher. The class is hard but if you take good notes and read the textbook you will be fine. He is only unfair when people whine and expect him to baby them like they're still in h.s. Use the study CD that's in the text, trust me it works I got an A
He seemed like he hated students and wanted to make their lives miserable. He should not be a teacher!!!!
Good professor, but not easy. If you don't read the text, you will not do well on his tests. Tests are fair though.
psychobiology of stress...he knows his stuff, so if you don't understand he will surely help you out. still, if you don't, he will surely just give you a mediocre grade. yeah, and don't give him a bad impression of yourself.
Great teacher. Makes you work, knows what he is talking about. Nice guy, his examples are good, is in touch with our generation and I enjoy his stories about his family. Fun class.
This man has caused me hell this semester. The best advice I can give to anyone considereing to take this class is to make sure you take good notes and READ THE TEXT. He is very funny and smart, but his test are very DIFFICULT. STUDY-STUDY-STUDY!!!
Good teacher and interesting class, but class is completely unnecessary. Just read the textbook. Tests are HARD (this is coming from someone who got the highest grade in the class on 2 out of the 3 tests!).
very unfair
Most tests based on notes, which means you must go to LECTURE and you MUST read the text! Tests are very hard! STUDY! STUDY! STUDY! Tests are VERY tricky!!!
not cool. brags about dog. seems to hate teaching people.
Good teacher, but not for an intro class. He's a stress specialist, and tends to focus on physiological and behavioral psych. It's very biologically oriented, you learn more brain processes than anything. That said, his lectures are quite enjoyable.
Anyone who says he doesn't care about his students is bitter. Granted the tests are hard, but that is the point of college in general. As a stress specialist, he is mainly unbaised and gives a broad overveiw of psychology in general.
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE teacher!!!! I HATE THIS MAN. ****
This man is dorky and annoying. Me and my friend had a tally for how many times he said HECK NO!! The way he speaks and all the material make it seem like he is teaching an upper level course. Relax buddy, this is intro psyc, not hard if u memorize notes
Deak is a good teacher, the material he does isn't too hard to understand...the people that talk during the whole lecture aren't going to do well in the class and shouldn't blame him for it
I hate this man. He is a terrible, and horrific grader. STAY AWAY!
I came into the class hearing many horrible reviews about him and they weren't true. Grading policy is REALLY TOUGH, but as a teacher he is good and fair, however, to get an A in that class is damn near impossible, good teacher but wish it was easier
Lectures have good clarity. Tests come more from his notes than from the textbook, but A students realize that they need to study both adequately. Its fairly difficult to get an A in his class but if you study efficiently you will have no problem
Very clear on material, anyone who doesn't bother to study their notes and the textbook like he tells the class to has no one to blame but themselves. Pretty nice guy generally, but is very strict on keeping the class on schedule.
enjoyable class. pretty interesting and well lectured.
The only way to get through his class with a decent grade is to read the book before lecture, and pay close attention to the examples he cites in lecture, because they WILL be on his exams. It is also exceptionally helpful to just go to class in general... with Deak, it should be mandatory.
Very difficult class for me. I didn't do as well as i would have hoped. He is, however a very decent man who will give you the time of day if you need his help. I was impressed by how eager and open he is to helping his students. BE READY TO WORK and possibly still not do very well
horrible teacher. not helpful at all!!!!I hate him.
Took him in Fall 03, guess things haven't changed much. Class is wayyyy too hard for an intro. Tests are ridiculously hard, studied for hours and still only managed a C. Sad part was I was genuinely interested in Psych and he completely killed it. Class should have a req't.: must have received grades of B or higher in prior science classes at Bing.
well given lectures. i actually enjoy this class...go to class and pay attention though. he seems like he does not play with his grades. overall nice guy. i dont think he is that evel

I love this man. He is so funny, smart and a cutie. His lectures are fun and he always includes awsome visuals however this is no easy class. Study your butt off.
great guy and amazing professor. more than willing to meet with students outside of class. fields all questions in class. lecture is FUN and deak conveys ideas very well through organized visuals. tons of reading, but the tests are straightforward mult-choice. go to office hours to review your test - he'll remember your name and is very friendly.
funny, smart, nice, good looking
I was worried about this class from the reviews I read, but I really enjoy the lectures. He tries his best to make it entertaining, and is always working so that his tests are as fair as possible. You definitely have to study, but if you take the time you shouldn't have a problem.
Really good lectures
interesting lecturesss, cutest baby ever!! we love deakie
Gives interesting lectures. Difficult course, but he tries to help you in any way.
really good teacher, explains well, good lectures. difficult tests, but study well and you will get an A. he works everything out in the end in your favor! [:
He is such a good teacher, very clear about everything and he puts all his notes on a big screen so all u have to do is copy them and pay attention to what he says to add ur own little notes in and u will do fine. I would suggest bringing a lap top to class if u can cause its a lot easier to get everything he says. Personally i loved the class.
There's no homework or papers, so your grade rests on a few tests. Like most huge classes, the amount of work you put in doesn't get reflected in your grade. He's very interesting as a speaker, so it was never hard sitting through an hour and a half of lecture.
He has really interesting lectures that you MUST go to! His tests are hard but if you pay attention in class and read the text you should be good.
he's boring and his test rediculously hard 23 slides of notes per lecture so pretty boring he's nice when he's in a good mood but angry when he doesnt feel good sick watever.. i woudnt take him again
Deak is an excellent lecturer. The class is easy as long as you take notes during lecture and read the text (a must). He knows what he is doing and it shows. He actually seems to care about helping you understand the material--go to his office hours if you don't understand something (forget about TAs). Convinced me to change my major to biopsych.
tests ok, final bs
Decent professor but very difficult class. Don't recommend taking it. You will regret.
make sure u have a passion for psychology before registering for deaks class!!! he is dedicated to teach the entire contents of the text within the scope of the semester. lectures move very fast, exams even faster. after the first exam this fall, about 40 kids dropped the class, which greatly influenced the "curve" he gives, or doesnt really give.
Really hard class, but if you read the textbook, pay attention in class, and study a lot you should be fine. Deak makes lecture interesting and puts all his notes on an overhead. Go in during office hours, it's really helpful.
Deak gives you a lot of notes to memorize, but he gives you a very good amount of time to learn to material covered. As long as you study for the class you can easily get a B.
Deak makes lectures and material interesting, and he usually has a fan club somewhere in the audience. I didn't devote anywhere near enough time to this class (never read the text book/didn't study that much) and I got a C, so definitely study for this one and you can do well.
Excellent lecturer. Moves fast but gives all notes on power point. Tells interesting stories to help the material relate better. Be prepared to read the text and take lots of notes. If the class puts him in a sour mood he will skip slides.
Lectures are very important, exams are difficult. He's a nice guy but you have to be very serious from the start to do well in this class.
Great professor, very personable, but you have to stay on your toes. Moves fast through materials but if you pay attention and go through the book you'll be fine.
Very Difficult tests. Classes are very interesting but the tests are brutal.
some people need to stop complaining about having to dare i say, open a book and attend a lecture. this is college people. in the real world, you work for what you get. like most things in life this is not an easy, its an intro class, there is a lot of info to cram into one little semester. there is a lot of reading, tests are hard. welcome to coll
Professor Deak is tough. I also learned more than I have in any other psych class yet.
we have to memorize too much.
I really like this class. the material is hard and the tests are hard. if you have time to put into this class and are willing to study a lot then take it. he is also a funny guy and interesting. you don't really have to go to class as long as you get the notes from someone. he drops 1 test out of 3
People need to stop complaining. He keeps class fun and teaches you at the same time. The tests are hard, but you can do well if you actually read the textbook and study the notes like he tells you to.
He like to talk about his life and his family drawing no connection between the topic and his tangents. He also tends to stammer often to the point where you wish you hadn't shown up to class at all.
The material is hard, as he likes to focus on the biology aspect of psychology, but as long as you read the textbook and take notes you should be alright. He's an entertaining lecturer and actually made me enjoy the class even though there's so much to know.
tries to make class fun, but class aveages on test s are always low 70's
He is a good teacher... does a good job of keeping the class entertained and interested. However, he teaches straight from the textbook... meaning, it is essential to have a good memory and good study habits to get a decent grade. I was hoping for material to think deeply about rather than facts to memorize. It's his biggest fault.
nice guy but Very hard exams and a lot of textbook reading
he's amazing! the best class i've taken at binghamton, he is HILARIOUS! but you really do have to read the text book. this class is very interesting, best prof to take intro psych with
Deak is pretty funny and his lectures are long so they can get boring but he is straight-forward and a good teacher. The tests are difficult but not because of him. As long as you study, you'll be fine.
best professor I've had. His tests are extremely difficult, tho He's very funny and helpful. You have to really know the material in order to do good. You have to read the book and attend class because the tests have material from the book and the lecture. Even though my lecture was 90 min, the time flies by because its very interesting
Lectures are pretty boring, but if you read the textbook you should be fine. I won't be taking another one of his classes though.
the tests are pretty hard not going to sugar-coat it. you have to really study and know both the textbook and lecture notes to do well... he keeps class interesting, always tries to answer questions when a hand is raised. overall he is ok and the class is ok.
Prof. Deak is a great guy, super nice and funny. He knows what he's talking about. If you go to class, take good notes you'll do fine. If you want to do really well, you definitely need to study the textbook.
Listen I'm not a freshman so i'll tell you how it is. I would say that this is a typical course that requires reading time every week preferably everyday before class. The lectures are very interesting and if you have a question just raise ur hand he will answer you. Go to office hours and look at your test to see what you did wrong. READ!
Deak's lectures could sometimes drag on but he definitely tries to keep you engaged. There were 3 tests and a final, and all of them were pretty challenging. Since you aren't assigned any homework or projects, your grade solely rides on how you do on tests, so make sure to go to lecture and read the textbook.
Psychology 111 is an introductory course that covers a ton of material. All of his tests are multiple choice, but they aren't easy. The class average on tests were around the C- range. Reading the textbook and showing up to every lecture is essential. Deak is a great professor.
You need to read the textbook and study the notes daily to get a decent grade. Don't be lazy! His tests are tough with specific questions; they're more about applying what you learned verses regurgitating all the info into the test. Difficult class, but Deak is a good teacher and is entertaining.
His lectures are generally very clear, well prepared, and informative. No problems there. The draw back is that he's arrogant and suffers from a very large ego. Deak, loosen your belt a few notches man. It would have made your senior level course more enjoyable.
He is a very knowledgeable man, and he will give a thorough lecture. However, the course is a bit ridiculous, as there are only exams. So, if you do not do well on the exams, your grade is basically finished. There is, nonetheless, a rather generous curve. Despite the fact that there are no clickers, come to class, as the notes are not posted.
3 exams, lowest dropped plus a final. The grades on these exams are usually around a 70% but it's doable if you go to class and take notes. Not trying to trick you with the exams but everything in the book and taught in class is fair game. Slides not posted online. Kinda funny, kinda arrogant. Overall, fine but not special.
You get most of your information from the lectures; you only have to consult the textbook sometimes. Lectures are fun and entertaining. Tests are hard so you actually have to work and commit to get a good grade.
He is a great guy, but does not seem to care at all if the whole class fails or passes. His lectures are interesting but never says anything about the tests and pretty much does not give any materials to prepare for the tests and even though they are multiple choice they are really hard.
A lot of reading, quizzes are online but they are still difficult. And no, you can not review the quiz to see what you got wrong afterwards. 3 test but you can drop one and there is a mandatory CUMULATIVE final. You are only graded on the quizzes average, the scores of the 2 test and the final.
Although his lectures can lag, he does his best to keep them interesting. Preparing for tests is 100% in your hands, but there are weekly open note quizzes that get you prepared for the style of questions. The textbook is a good reinforcer, but I stopped reading it after chapter 5 and found his lectures covered just as much material.
If you read the textbook, this class is not difficult. He is a good lecturer and a funny guy. He does a thorough job at explaining everything on his slides. However, he does sometimes move through slides too fast to get all the info down. Overall, he is good at what he does and wants students to succeed in his class.
Terrence Deak has to be the best professor ever. There's a short online quiz every week about each chapter and honestly it has helped me stay on top of the chapter and be prepared. At the end of the course he allowed us one retake of all the chapter quizzes, boosting my grade up. He also gave out lots of extra credit points at the end. Love him
Read the textbook & make sure to get the notes. Lectures are boring but cover a lot. Be ready to study a lot. His tests are multiple choice but difficult. He gives a lot of resources to study due to Cengage, but it is in your hands. He drops the lowest exam, and lowest 2 quizzes but the grade is not based off anything else. The class is hard.
Very unfair lecture compared to other Psych 111 lectures. Other lecture has 3 tests, final included. They get one test dropped and their final is 4 chapters. This section has three tests and then a final, one dropped but the final is cumulative. It is very different and unfair to students within this lecture as you have to study 15 chapters vs 4.
Really good professor and knows his stuff. If you read the textbook religiously, you honestly don't even need to go to class. Weekly quizzes are great because they actually make the material for each test a little more manageable. Lots of work and you really need to study for your grade but honestly worth it. Overall great class!
Solid professor overall. Drops one exam. Actually lectures and provides interesting examples. Cracks a few jokes once in a while, sometimes no one laughs but he doesn't care. Could maybe talk less about how some students will inevitably fail the course. How to succeed: READ THE TEXTBOOK. Exams are straightforward, 100% memorization.
11 quizzes; 3 exams (drops one); 1 fatttt final... If you are not required to take this course, do not take it because the amount of work required for it will not be worth it for you, trust me
If you are not required to take this course you probably don't want to take this. Psychology is very interesting... and Terrence Deak is a very good professor but this class isn't an easy A. 3 tests, drops 1, and 11 online quizzes, and a cumulative final. So test heavy. If you can test well and remember a lot of information you'll probably do okay.
Terrence Deak is a good professor and is knowledgable. The course, however, had a lotttttt of information. Three tests, a bunch of quizzes, and a cum. final. An A is 100% do-able but doesn't slack on the quizzes (they add up), and also try your best to do well on the tests which are very application-based. NGL they are hard tests. Good luck.
Psyc 111 Is not a easy A, yet he is a very knowledgeable lecturer and gives students many opportunities to do well as long as you put in the work. Definitely read the textbook and pay attention to the online quizzes as they can really help your grade. Professor Deak cares about his students and is overall a good guy!
Very fair professor in terms of grading. Let us retake all of the quizzes at the end of the course. Read is necessary each week and make sure to use the book for the quizzes. The tests are definitely challenging. so make sure to study.
This was the worst class i have every taken. It was so hard and your hard work barely paid off. I read each chapter in the book 4 times and it still was not enough. The tests are so hard and the final was impossible. Stay away
By far the class that I did the most work for this semester and I ended up with the worst grade. The average for every exam was within the C range, he does not offer extra credit, your grade is only composed of exams and quizzes. He said we'd have a generous curve on our overall grade but it barely made a difference
worst class. do not take it if you dont have to or get a different professor. very definition of will ruin your gpa
Disliked him at first because he was a know-it-all kind of guy who tried scaring people out of his class but he got better as semester progressed. He makes you work for your grade. Tests are very specific so you need to study lectures and textbook to get an A. Definitely a lot of work.
Intelligent guy who gives clear, interesting lectures. Tests are a large part of the grade, but grade can be brought up w/ weekly online quizzes (based on textbook). Definitely have to read textbook for the tests too; that & notes make up all the info you need to know. A very doable class if you read & put in the work to memorize/study.
He tries to cram wayyy too much into one class claiming we have to be "on schedule" and even if you pull multiple all-nighters or only take 12 credits you still won't do that well. Take Merriwhether or someone else. Ridiculous that you have no TA or professor with adequate time to teach you the material for a gen-ed class. brings down ur gpa.
It's a really interesting class that is pretty vocab-oriented. If you study the vocab you should be okay. Prof tells a lot of jokes during class which helps keep the class awake. He also gives a quiz a week, which isn't too bad because it's a take-home and open book. Records lectures and leaves them up for a week which is helpful.
Deak does his best to make PSYCH 111 engaging for students. He fixes what he screws up (giving us a large curve on an exam where the questions were not the best testing material), and is responsive to respectful criticism. The lectures are relatively interesting. Also, if you want a B+ or above, get the textbook (or a free pdf of it).
Weekly quizzes on lecture and textbook means you need to put work into the course, but if you do it's not difficult to do well. Generous curves and good lectures.
Prof terrence is a good teacher of the curriculum, but the class itself isn't too hard. As long as you read the chapters, the quizzes and tests are pretty straight forward. Would recommend this class.
Heavy on lectures and if you don't go or watch recorded lectures you won't pass. Lectures are boring. Make sure you do quizzes bc that will bring up your grade. There are three major exams and a final in which the worst grade is dropped. He is fair because he curves tests. Tests are HARD bc of wording. He doesn't let you see your test afterwards
You should both attend lectures and read the textbook to pass exams. Attendance isn't taken and we had recordings of lectures this year, but it's highly recommended. Informative lectures that he tries to make interesting. Graded by weekly open note quizzes, two best exams, final, and research participation completion
Really awesome prof and gives great lectures. Funny and chill, makes jokes and interacts with students. His lectures are long and so are the exams but he cares about the success of his students and makes an effort to help students by preparing them well for exams and the final. As long as you study youll be fine.
This is a tough one. He gives long lectures and doesn't post his slide shows. He posts his lectures on brightspace for 1 week and then deletes them. difficult weekly quizzes. Grade breakdown: 25% final, 25% - 1 test, 25% - 1 test, 25% quizzes. one test is dropped. emails back quickly. Take another prof if you can, but not the worst if you cant.
Deak was such a nice prof this year. He was constantly going out of his way to accommodate his students with 8 point curves, retakes on quizzes, exam preps, and TA review zoom calls. You can tell he really cares about his students and wants them to do well. You will have to put decent work in but he does this best to help students out.
Professor Deak was such a nice professor. Loved his lectures. You need to show up for the notes, and the tests are pretty difficult but he lets you retake quizzes, and drops the lowest test score. He wants students to succeed and his class was really interesting. Definitely recommend. Loved his teaching style.
This class is incredibly work heavy and will require lots of reading and lots of studying. Deak is an accommodating professor as he gives good curve, online quizzes, and good lecture. The class is not meant for the weak-minded but the class is interesting.
Deak is a great professor who clearly cares about the success of his students. He's incredibly knowledgable and can clearly answer any question , and his lectures are all extensive. He gave us multiple chances to improve our grade, as well as changed his grading criteria to make our lives and grades easier. Reading the textbook is your friend.
Really good professor, enjoyed his lectures. He's funny and cares about you and your grade. The tests can be difficult but if you study enough you should be good.
Difficult exams and lots of content, but Prof. Deak genuinely cares about the success of his students. Work hard and you'll succeed (:
Professor Deak made me interested in psychology. Most importantly he is so accommodating to students needs and changed his syllabus a lot to help boost our grades, such as letting us retake quizzes. Would recommend taking this class with him and I hope to take another class with him in the future.
Deak is an amazing professor. He makes you work for your grade but wants every student to succeed so will curve the tests/finals. This class is very content heavy. Just read the textbook and study for weekly quizzes and you will be fine!
Didn't go to any lectures, due to the fact where he really didn't teach the info well. The only way to do significantly well on exams were to read the textbook, that was super duper ooper long. Weekly online quizzes has answers on quizlet. During the middle of the semester, he changed the grading criteria, to benefit students.
I liked him as a person, bur psychology is just soooo boring to me. He made it a little more bearable, I guess.
Professor Deak is great at lecturing, however his tests are super hard. They are mainly application based, and even after studying for hours on end, it's practically impossible to do well on a test. The class averages for exams are around a 70, which shows just how difficult this course is. Don't take this class unless it's for a major fulfillment.
Amazing professor! He conveys information really well and actually makes the subject interesting. That being said, the course itself is test heavy and you need to study a lot to get a good grade. Lectures are vital to understanding material. As difficult as it is, Deak really cares about his students and is lenient about grades/curves nicely.
Such an awesome professor. Very knowledgeable about the material and he was so accommodating to students, you can tell that he actually cares. It is a hard class because of the memorization / studying, but I found this class interesting so it wasn't too bad. If you apply yourself and study you will succeed.
Loved him, he gradually got funnier during lecture as the semester went on, and while the class was test heavy I never felt like the material was too challenging or presented poorly. He doesn't cover everything in lecture, so be sure to go through the textbook afterwards.
To do well in this course, I recommend doing the readings ahead of the lectures. Weekly quizzes. 3 exams, the lowest score was dropped!
Great professor! He actually made me interested in the class and although attendance wasn't mandatory I never missed a lecture because of him! Weekly quizzes are very helpful for reviewing chapters and 3 exams given (lowest dropped). Easily one of the best profs at Bing.
You have to be able to study and learn on your own for this class. There are weekly quizzes, but he let's you redo them all at the end of the semester and the lowest two grades are dropped anyways. He also only gives three tests during the semester, and one of them is dropped. Our third test was the day before Thanksgiving break but was so easy.
Good teacher, 3 fair tests- 1 is dropped. + cumulative final which can't be dropped. 12 easy quizzes- 2 are dropped. rtn the textbook and use quizlets to study for each test. not a lot of work except studying for tests which takes 2-3 days
Professor Deak is great! He really cares about the success of his students and is responsive to feedback. 12 total quizzes (2 dropped) and 4 exams (3 throughout the course (one is dropped) + the cumulative final exam). Really try to read the textbook carefully and take in-depth notes before class, and attend lecture for the best results. Good luck!
Prof. Deak is a nice, friendly guy. The lectures have 400 people and are irrelevant. All the lectures are recorded and all the material on the tests are on the slides he puts up. This isn't a hard class as you just need to study for the exams and you'll be fine. I would suggest never going to class; just copy down the recorded slides and study.
Professor Deak is awesome! He made lectures interesting and fun, despite the large number of people in the lecture hall. He was also extremely generous with curves for exams, which were well structured. Most of the material on exams came from the textbook, so you definitely have to read what's assigned. Highly recommend taking a class with him!
Some people hate on Deak, but he's actually a good professor. He at least tries to engage his students. The class is hard if you don't put the effort in. The tests are difficult, so study!!! Read the textbook-- it's actually kind of interesting and will help on the tests. There's no homework, only weekly quizzes. 4 tests make up most of your grade.
Loved Deak. He gave great lectures and was super understanding of students' issues and always willing to help us and work with his students'. Only complaint is that the final grade was only computed of a few things but other than that very good class/professor.
He's a good professor, there's just a lot of material to cover.
He's a great teacher but class is hard and definitely need to study for the tests a lot. His textbook was also super helpful but quizzes were very hard and the class was based on only tests and quizzes. Def go to lecture and use quizlet for the quizzes. He wants everyone to do well so he let us retake all the quizzes again.
This class was very difficult in terms of the amount of preparation needed before tests. However, Professor Deak does a great job at explaining complex topics, and keeping students intrigued. There is one quiz each week, but besides that you're graded on 3 tests and a final exam. I would definitely recommend this course!!
This class is definitely hard. There is lots of reading long chapters because tests come from the textbook and lecture. 1 chapter has average of like 35-40 pages. We finish one chapter in like 2 classes. Final grade computed on a frew things, majority of it being exams. Final and exams were not easy. Make sure to read and study lecture slides.
I loved this class! He cares about the students and is very engaging with the class. There is no extra credit but 2 lowest quiz grades are dropped (quizzes are online) and one test grade is dropped. (all tests were curved). Tests are hard and get the textbook if you can get it. Overall great class and would take it with him again. Highly Recommend
Pro Deak is funny and even tho a lot of the content was boring he made it more interesting. He was available outside of class as well as TAs. However, this class was super difficult, lots of reading and the entire grade was based off of quizzes (lowest 2 of 12 dropped) and 3 tests (lowest one dropped) and the final test, and NO extra credit at all.
take notes,he posts some recordings of lectures,READ THE TEXTBOOK,read chapters before lecture,a lot of material but covers it well, has good sense of humor, grades are all based on tests and quizzes, quizzes are online+answers straight from textbook, tests include both textbook and lecture information(USE FLASHCARDS) but absolutely loved the class
Amazing professor.
Pro Deak is a great lecturer who makes the material engaging. The class is tough with lots of reading and tests, but Deak is understanding and available to help. I found unstuck ai useful for flashcards and practice quizzes.
too much info, you had to read the textbook super through to understand on top of the lecture
