Great class. He is funny and so passionate about his subject. He expects participation in class. He makes you work hard!!! Papers, exams, quizzes, lots of reading. He gives a ton of work but I learned alot and was never bored. I would recommend him.
I took an online class with him. He is a very unflexible individual. This is a fault for a teacher. He needs to take some pedagogy class and learn how to be a human being not a machine.
Terry Delaney in a community college professor trying not to be a community college professor. I've got news Terry, you are a community college professor for a reason. No professor at a respectable college would be as inflexible and biased as Terry Delaney is.
This guy is freaking tough. He can destroy you if you don't do your assignments. Just do the reading and stuff he assigns you and you will get at least a C+. Fortunately, he let me pass with a C-. I can't tell you the number of times I thanked him, but still.. you can't screw around in his class. It's not worth the risk. PS: He hates quiet students
One of the worst teachers I've had..he is unclear on what he wants, and never gives a straight answer. P.s. if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all..he should keep some of his comments to himself

Think twice even three times before taking a class with this professor. He will tear you to pieces if you say something incorrectly during "class" discussions, thinks he is an English professor and grades papers as such. He is so boring during his lectures as well.
Tough course. Wants you to work. He is passionate about history.
Great class. Really enjoyed the discussions and the lectures. Went off topic a bit but with the war it was easy to do. Papers tough but he sits and explains everyting.
Great teacher. Interesting lectures.
This guy is a joke! he acts as if we should be a Harvard level - hello, he's not even at hardvard level. He has a lot of contempt for his students and it shows. he thinks by being "hard" he is a good teacher. I loved history until I took him.
Great class. I am going out west just because of this class.
Western American history was a passion of the professor. He is very difficult, but it is worth the pain. If you come to class and read all your material the discussions are great. He asks loaded questions, so if you pay attention, you can snag up some of them for your participation portion of your grade. I would take another of his classes.
A prof with a 'sink or swim' attitude. I took him in an online class. What he expected from the essay writings was not clear at all. I did poorly on my first and I really didn't understand why except I came to different conclusions about History than him. For the next two I sort of had to guess what he wanted to hear-I did better. Don't recommend.
US History I, great class, you have to work for you grade, to many people just want to show up and get an "A". Guess What, do the work, and you will "learn" alot.
Biased, plays favorites, wants you to "spit back" what he's taught. Don't you dare deviate.
At first the clas is tough, but if you stay with it and do the readings, you will learn a lot.
I took US History I as an online class thinking it would better suit my work schedule. This class is like a SECOND FULL TIME JOB. Assigned readings in 2 full size textbooks, 2 historical literature books, and a plethora of online sources. Tests are based on trivial details of History rather than important concepts. I Don't Recommend
Be prepared to read A LOT in this class. There is a lot of work to put in but you will learn a lot as well. He is very enthusiastic about his class and subject. A good class if you are willing to work and are okay with heavy reading.
Class is a lot of work but I have learned a lot. Discussions are easy as questions posted before class. Smae with the tests. Go to his office hours and he practically explains everything you need.
very intelligent professor. he makes you work hard for the grade but if your willing to but the work you will earn his respect as well as a high mark.
I liked this class. The people giving the worst reviews are the people who probably did wnat to work. Everything you need he gives in advance. If you study, go to EVERY class and participate you will do okay. Grades tough but fair.
I thought it would be better to complete my history gen ed requirement online over the summer, rather than take it with 5 other courses during the semester. Wow. Horrible idea. There is far too much reading, online posting, test-taking, and he grades too hard on the papers. I strongly DO NOT recommend his online class.
Never responded to my emails in any helpful manner, I did the assignments I was aware of only to find out there were additional assignments I was unaware of, and never informed of. He teaches the online classes in an unacceptable manner. DO NOT TAKE HIM!
I just finished the online summer course. Lots of work but now I am done for the summer. Great course.
I was in the summer course too. Really easy to do with a great bonus at the end. All the work is spelled out and easy to find.
He thinks he is end all of historians. Ask him for help at your peril as his 'help' means an automatic grade reduction. One piece of advice for this class...Write what he wants you to say in your papers. DO NOT have an opinion, you will be wrong.
Took online as my first course since undergrad college. heavy weight on discussions, do the reading and participate in the discussions wholeheartedly, it will help you. He grades 60 percent on papers, and is rigid. I got A's in writing , but could not earn over a D. Would not allow rewrites, etc so even if you are motivated he is not.
Great class. Discussions were lively. Tests were tough but the study guide before helps a lot.
Lots of essays, but great with office hours and willing to help you work on your essays so that you will get a great grade.
Send numerous email get nothing useful in responses. he will tell you how to write your essay. He gives way too much work for the week. Read at a minimum 2 chapters from the text and an additonal book on the side and post discussion board faithfully. This guy is nuts! i stuck it out to graduate but i definitely do not recommend him!
this guy lives breathes and sleeps history. he thinks that his class is the only class you take and piles on the work. you have to really pay attention to his lectures and take notes while reading the chapters. his tests are difficult if you don't study. i didnt like him at all.
He is a great professor for students who take college seriously. if you are just trying to skid by don't take his course. He takes teaching seriously and enjoys seeing student efforts to learn. his work load bearable he only asks you to read a chapter a week from the book. his tests can be difficult if you don't study as any test would be.
Excellent, very intelligent professor. He doesn't just hand out A's. You MUST earn it. Then he'll give you all the respect in the world. Study hard, go to him for any questions, and utilize the online study guides. Very fun class and I know I learned alot from him. He is a great professor.
He is teaching this online - doesn't believe in online learning though? He won't help or clarify very smart responses to questions I expressed a concern over a 20 quest test being 20 mins long he said I have a learning disability go get help. I am so frustrated I would not recommend to anyone at least not online.
I have always loved history and thought I would finish my histor pre-req online since it would work better with my schedule. This guy is no help and expects you to write what he wants. I love writing papers and always get A's but not in his class the highest grade I received was a c-. Do not take his class. HOrrible teacher.
I have never seen such a terrible professor for an online course. He grades hard and gives out hard assignments. He offers absolutely no help to his students and expects you to know everything on day one. He is demeaning of students and does not help students succeed in his class; Be advised: DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR.
Good teacher, very clear on what he expects in the beginning, and also very prompt. If you come late, he'll notice. I mention he's hard on grading, but all in all he's great cause you end up learning more than anything else. Reccomend for those wanting to learn history, don't take him if you "only need it for your major". He really knows his stuff.
My father had a heart attack on the day of the second test, so I emailed Delaney to let him know that I wasn't going to be there. Not only did he not respond, but when I came to class the following week, he told me that I would be receiving a ZERO for the test because, and I quote, it was my "responsibility to be in class". I couldn't believe it.
Great in class, horrible online.
I will never take a class with this professor again. He was unwilling to help and rude to several classmates. Also made us buy a book never used in the Semester
Was one of my absolute favorite professors, but be warned it wont be an easy a kinda class. You need to know all the information in alot of detail and he is more then willing to help, IF YOU GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS!
Worse teacher ever. He expects you to know alot of details. Will expect you to do all the reading and remember all of it. Not an easy class, very hard grading. He knows his stuff but he has NO people skills
Best professor, class is easy, not a lot of hw, tests are easy anddd he gives you the study guides forever in advance. The class is chill. Impossible not to get an A
DONT EVER TAKE A CLASS WITH THIS PROFESSOR. HE IS HORRIDLY HARD. I am taking 7 classes and have A's in all the other classes but am barely passing this history class. I took it online and it is beyond hard. He gives you 20 minutes to take a 20 question quiz on a 40 page chapter where each question takes a minute to even read and comprehend.
Best teacher at Three River's by far. Intelligent and interesting. He is challenging. Any class he teachers is worth taking.
Best teacher at three rivers by far, but you actually have to be intelligent or willing to work hard which is why he gets so many poor reviews.
I work mutiple jobs and am trying to get a degree at the same time. This professor is ridiculous. I am willing to work hard, but the amount of work he piles on is almost impossible to complete.
i am taking 6 other classes not including his, i believe that if i was not as busy as i am Prof delaney would be amazing. this class takes hard work and a fair amount of dedication. just be prepared to work your ass off. he is smart and funny and loves what he teaches.
Difficult teacher unless you are motivated. He only collects 4 tests and a research paper; hint-paper is a book report. I took him twice, the first time I barely passed with a C- The second time around I knew what to expect and was able to handle it,earning a B. He is the nicest guy and brigs the material to an understandable level.
Easy class. Only have to take three exams out of five, you choose which ones. Has posted study guide so you write answers before test then cut and past them in. Disucssio is part of it but get to write on whatever you want, no set questions. Cake course.
I will admit he is a very hard teacher. But if you are in class and do al of your work then doing well is possible. His tests are very hard and you have to know your stuff.
His expectations were way too high. Not a huge fan of overloading on the reading and he definitely expects you to reads three books during a semester like he is the only teacher you have a class with.
Do not enroll his class. The entire class was almost failed in the first test. If you study the assignments the he gave online, considering it as part of the test, you are going to failed. He loves to write abbreviated words on the board that when you study it back, you are completely lost.
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!
Do not enroll his class. Learning should be fun that it gives you a balance life between school, personal and work. He is too much. He gave school work load that is beyond acceptable. His grading system has no chance of passing a student or getting an A even you are an honor student. I hope the college is checking on this issues.
This is my third class with Delaney and I still think he's a great professor. Don't take his class if you're lazy or not willing to do the work because you'll fail. He teaches a lot in a short amount of time but his enthusiasm for history always shines through. If you do the reading and work hard you'll be fine.
He is very condescending, and he act annoyed when anyone would ask a question. He requires a lot of reading, and you have to keep up. There are so many kind, passionate history teachers that will still challenge you. Do not let Delaney ruin your excitement to learn about US history.
I would never recommend this class to anyone. The multiple choice quizzes aided nothing to my knowledge, but the essays for the exams helped a lot...being online he rarely contributed to the discussion. Didn't have anything other than exam study guides and a poorly designed website. Term paper was on the last chapters...hard to start before then!
Professor Delaney is amazing. Every single day he came to class enthusiastic about what he was teaching. There was a decent amount of work to do, don't think it's a sit back and relax class. If you go in with the right attitude, you'll love his class. Summery: Pretty decent workload, you'll have to work hard, but you will learn. Highly recommend.
I would never take this professor again! I dont understand history well so I had to seek extra help from the professor. He doesn't help at all. I am not a bad student by any means. Honor student, shows up and pays attention, takes notes, as well as read the textbook, (if you don't read and take notes you WILL be lost). He doesn't care if you fail.
Literally the worst teacher I have ever had. I have never complained about a teacher before, and usually have no problem getting along with them. Delaney is extremely rude when you email him for help or with a question and is an extremely hard grader. I have never gotten a D in my entire life but in this course I did. Do not take his class!!
Terrible teacher, RUDE, non-helpful and could care less about his students. It's black and white with him nothing in between. Module exams are multiple choice and short answer I do great on the multiple choice, fair on the short answer but I get an F for a grade? History isn't my life but it is his. Don't take this course unless it's your life too.
I would not recommend his online courses to anyone. I ended up dropping it and happily walked away with only 50% of my money. He assigns readings from two books, along with multiple websites, with no guidance and has a quiz due on every Friday. There are no slides, no lectures, no GUIDANCE. When I confronted him about it, I got no response.
Professor Delaney was a great teacher and I would take his class again. He is tough but fair. I do not really like History that much, but his choices made me enjoy what I was reading. I found him to be extremely fair and if I received a not so great grade, I knew it was due to my lack understanding the question or personal issues.
Basically he only collects 3 unit tests and a research paper, most likely on a historical book. So that is where people may get the impression that he is tough. Very funny and entertaining teacher, helps you retain things with modern analogies. My only regret is dropping his class, the third time I took one of his.
I thought he was a horrible professor, no clarity at all and not willing to help the students whats so ever. I do not recommend it.
He needs to make his class more oriented around learning civil war material, and less about reading and writing. Although I learned a lot about the civil war, I withdrew because your grade is based on how well you write, not what you know about the civil war.
This guy is a hard grader, and does not put things clearly. I got a D on my final paper because I didn't have a clear thesis, that seems a little harsh. He never helped me out, just criticized what I did, in turn because I didn't know exactly what I was supposed to be doing. I wouldn't recommend this guy for anything. Didn't really check up on us.
Nice professor, but his class is not good. his problems were: 1. Expects excellent writing skills. Most projects are more about writing knowledge than history. 2. Does not assign clear projects, then expects them done a certain way. 3. Too much reading for a short time period. By the time you get the book, you'll have little time to read it.
He was an absolutely nightmare for students who were honestly trying their best. Unclear guidelines led to 90% of students failing the term paper and when I emailed him in regards to this he had no desire to help or to make clear what we did wrong. Annoyance crosses his face for any question made in class along with rude responses to emails. Bad.
Professor Delaney was an amazing teacher. If you do the readings and do exactly what he asked of you, you will get an A. He is also very helpful when you go for extra help and will basically grade your tests and give you pointers before the test.
It is only the first week of school and I am already seeking another professor for the course. The professor uses his own site that is poorly designed with very unclear deadlines, assignments, & no clear expectations. Grades based more on your writing skills than the subject itself. Professor very short and condescending when asked for help.
In addition to being a generally rude and condescending human being, Terrence Delaney is a very poor professor. His "lectures" are nothing more than random facts he finds interesting, with attendance, of course, being mandatory. Even though his lecturing will not help you with testing, he grades incredibly tough, and is little help outside of class
Delaney is an excellent professor. As long as you do the readings and come prepared to the class you will get an A. He gives you the questions for the tests and if you do the test beforehand he will give you feedback. This was one of my favorite classes that I actually learned a lot from. Delaney is also very intelligent which i value a lot.
I took this class online for starters. First of he gives way too much work for 7 weeks. His emails and the way he words comments are extremely rude and inappropriate. His final paper didn't make any sense and his grading was even worse! Not to mention his assignments were from another book.
Unclear grading criteria on multiple assignments. Won't give you the time of day in an email so meet up with him if you need to discuss something. Be prepared for him to not care about a word you say and to make you feel like you aren't trying hard enough, when in reality you are. Don't take any class with him, for your sake.
Rude. Won't give you the time of day in an email so meet up with him if you need to discuss something. Be prepared for him to not care about a word you say and to make you feel like you aren't trying hard enough, when in reality you are. Don't take any class with him, for your sake. (accidentally gave wrong level of difficulty on previous review).
This is one of the worst classes and worst professor. He is very rude and not helpful at all. At one time I thought I just wanted to quit college after dealing with him. He made me feel like a stupid student. Do not take any class with him. You will be stressed out.
Delaney is one of those professors where whatever you do he'll find something. Expects you to know every single little detail from the text, he's pretty fair when you go talk to him about any issues that may arise. Get ready to put in the work for at least a B!
There was reading every week with questions we had to do that would be discussed in class. It was hard work and the final paper was hard. But if you show up every day and work for it he is a fair grader. I had to redo my final essay but he gave me the chance to, instead of giving me a F.
Yes there was a chapter of reading every week (welcome to college, imagine that) but his class is not difficult if you put in a little bit of effort. I enjoyed his American History 1866 - Present class and he definitely deserves at least a 4.3 rating. (Do the reading, use evidence from the textbook in the papers, cite your work and you'll get a B).
Easily one of the worst professors Ive ever had. I emailed him with a test correction and here I am 12 DAYS later still with no response. I had to drop on week 14/15 because he failed me on a test and refused to change the grade.
Be prepared to do a lot of reading, and essay writing. You have to work your behind off to get a B. Dropped the class so it didn't kill my GPA. If you take this class and you work full time, take it as a single class. The work you have to put in is equal to two classes.
He could be good in face to face class, but I took an online class with him where communication was lacking and his directions somewhat vague. He wrote long, snarky announcements that were confusing and dated incorrectly to the last semester. Willing to help with some things though, and gives detailed feedback at times.
Was vague and unclear in communications.
You basically have to teach yourself in the online class. Extremely unclear with his assignment instructions. In order to find one assignment due date you would have to click on multiple links to get there. His online class is through a personal website not the school which was difficult to navigate.
Prof. Delaney is the only teacher I had to drop because of his terrible, rude, and insensitive attitude. I have never met a man so conceited and toxic in the classroom. When you ask for help, he's rude, when you have a question about homework, he's rude. He simply doesn't like to communicate with his students and he tries his best to make you fail.
I was so scared to take History. I have to say that I was intimidated being that this professor majored in both English and History (two of my worst subjects). All I have to say is that you must do the homework in order to pass. I got a B- which was by far the best grade that I ever received in a US History class! Very happy with the final grade!
I was really nervous to take this class based on the reviews for him on here. needless to say, I was presently surprised at how easy this course was as LONG AS YOU READ the material and use the study guides he provides for the exams. He is a TOUGH grader though with essays, use evidence from the textbooks and you should be ok though.
Dropping the class ASAP. His directions are so unclear thats is not even a joke. Used a completely different website that is not blackboard. He puts everything on the announcements on blackboard however doesnt really use it for anything else. Wouldnt recommend taking him runnnn now while you can.
Extremely rigid and difficult grader. Does not care if you work still expects you to do 3 classes worth of work for his one class. Expects the world from you but cant even be bothered to use blackboard. I wish I had never taken history with him. Just an all around horrible teacher Im surprised three rivers hasnt gotten rid of him.
Wish I could leave a zero. Hes that bad. Has unrealistic expectations. The class covers civil war through world war 2 and Vietnam and he somehow made all of that boring and tedious. Do not take any classes with Delaney. Wait until a better professor comes along. If I needed his class to graduate I would postpone my graduation just to avoid him.
Bad just all around bad do not take a class with him you will regret it.
I should have listen when his past students told me to drop the class since the beginning. This man does not care about his students, nothing is good for him, you can put your heart to his works still receive 0/10 if he is not feeling your answer. Do not take him if you don't want your GPA to go down yeah his that bad. Very tough
people complaining about the work in this class wanted an easy ride. This class will prepare you for what college is actually like down the road. It isn't everyday you get a professor who is passionate and doesn't just read from slides or a texbook. Do the reading, participate, go to his office for questions (hes always available) youll be fine
There is no syllabus as far as I could tell and the only grading that made a dent was discussion questions (essays essentially) that I never knew the due date for. I got at least 80% on all of my quizzes and was failing by midterms. I asked for help and he told me my "concerns ring hollow" with a link to his external website that is not helpful
Honestly his class is not that hard but he wants to make sure you learn the content. So f you really in to history you should take the class... but if you're like me and just need a quick passing grade or credit than stay away.
Mr. Terrence Delaney or whatever you call him is simply not a good professor. Not only does he make students visit his website that is not even secure, but he does not even post the adequate information to make sure we are prepared. He does his teaching by making you read countless textbook pages and watch hours of pointless videos. Bad grader
Professor Delaney, cares about his students even if he doesnt show it. The class I had was a great class. Professor Delaney is passionate about history he gives a fair work load and I really enjoyed his class would take history with him again. His exams were difficult but they really helped you grasp the material they were fair. Make sure you read
Get ready for a very difficult class. He gives way too much reading and expects reports at a level unreachable. Would never have this professor again.
Accused me and another former student of plaigarism with no basis. Repeatedly fought me on coursework submissions, refused to take late work despite the unclear nature of his syllabus and course layout. Does not teach. Grades are extremely unclear.
I used to love history until I took Delaney's class. He's rude, a tough grader, and demands much more respect than he gives you. When I was homeless, he refused to extend any deadlines. I had a 95 in his class, until he gave me a D- on the final for not using additional sources (the videos he has you watch). He's a bad teacher and a worse person.
Delaney is a tough grader and is rough around the edges. If you're looking for an easy class or easy A he may not be for you. He may not have been my favorite professor but I can say I came out of his class a better student. He pushes you to do your best and expects you to do the work and readings he assigns, if you do no issues.
Avoid at all costs. The professor deliberately adds announcements and exam requirements stealthily to the bottom of blackboard announcements, and when you don't see them and fail an exam he considers it your fault. Totally uncaring and dismissive, any problems are your problems, even if he causes them deliberately.
He is extremely rude, if you email him for help, don't use blackboard because he will not respond. He doesn't use blackboard Utterly rude and self absorbed. You ask for help and it's a bother that you ask him for it. He will be no use to you or help to you. He acts like he's to good to be teaching community college and helping the students in it.
Whenever I email him he is very condescending and acts like I'm stupid for asking a question. Extremely tough grader. We just had our first exam and the majority of the class did really bad. Do not expect help from him either. If you're having trouble in the class and try to get help, he'll be very rude and barely even make an effort to help.
Delany's online course is so disorganized. He created his own website that is nearly impossible to navigate. He is straight-up rude and condescending. If I weren't so far in I would be dropping his class, I've scored above 75 on every quiz we've taken so far and got an F on the midterm grade that was "based on all the work you've submitted".
The reading is HEAVY in this class, as are the expectations. I am in agreement with many of my fellow students that there's a disrespectful tone in each announcement, plus surprise assignments and a very inflexible exam schedule. Don't recommend for folks with a heavy course load. This course pushes me to be more diligent, but I'm exhausted.
Probably the worst professor I have ever had. I would never take this guys class again. horrible. Has all materials on his own website and is unorganized and hard to find anything. Does not teach, tells you to look at the book. very pretentious. For someone making almost 300k a year from the state, a complete waste of money from the state of CT.
Its a shame that he is still teaching, such a terrible professor. Professors like Delaney are the reason tenure should not exist. DO NOT TAKE ANY OF HIS CLASSES. Worst teacher I have ever had, his ego is insane and he is very rude. He is a textbook a narcissist.
Avoid at all costs this guy made me hate history, the name terrence, and his hair. Very distracting demands respect even though he doesn't deserve it. this guy shouldn't have became a professor.
Despite the huge tests, Delaney is not bad of a professor. Take notes during class, CTRL+F the (ungraded) homework assignments, and grind out the three tests and the final paper and you'll be fine. Show up to every class, know how to write essays, and go to office hours for help when needed and it's a fairly easy A.
Narcissistic teacher. Had an A+ all semester until the final, where he gave me an F because I didn't incorporate enough info from the optional homework. I asked him for leniency when I was homeless and he said it was too late. My advisor reached out to him, and this guy effectively told her to buzz off because he's tenured. Avoid at all costs.
horrible professor! incredibly disorganized on blackboard and incorporates confusing formats on the tests/quizzes without explaining directions. he claims he understands that many students don't like history but expected us to write the term paper as if we're historians. please save yourself unnecessary stress and don't take this class!
I had to withdraw from this class before it was starting to affecting my stress levels and mental health. The professor is extremely rude and horribly disorganized. He refuses to answer students questions. Incredibly difficult and disorganized for an online course. Please avoid this professor at all costs!
Dr.Delaney's expectations for students are really not that bad and the assignments are very straight forward. If you don't procrastinate on the writings for the exams and term paper as well as show up to class on time and actually participate in lectures/ class discussions you will do fine in the class.
Do not take his class if you are not a history major he is a harsh grader and has his expectations set way to high he is awful do not take any class with him as the teacher
I strongly advise against taking any classes with Dr. Delaney. He demonstrated zero compassion or empathy. class was structured horribly with very confusing syllabus hidden on his website. the materials were spread out throughout blackboard, his website or just not posted. He insulted me multiple times and was extremely disrespectful. DO NOT TAKE!
Professor thinks that you are only taking his class and no one else's. He required 3 text books for the course, 2/3 were utilized. My final paper, I cited from 2 of the 3 books that we used from class, and his comments were "I find it astonishing that you did not use all 3 books for this course, and graded against me for not using all three books"
This professor's syllabus is unclear, quizzes are as tough as tests, and studying notes alone isn't enough you need to know the entire textbook. Deadlines are confusing and grading is harsh. Expect a heavy workload and stress. Not recommended unless you're a history major or history buff.
The professor is strict with grading and has a confusing course structure. The syllabus is on a self-made website that's hard to navigate. Due dates are unclear, and exams and discussions are overly challenging. He expects precise citations and specific answers to broad questions. He's not understanding, often saying, "You should've known better,"
His course was nearly unbearable.
Professor Delaneys class was a very confusing one. The quizzes were fine and the exams were fine but his class is structured poorly. It is like a needle in a hay stack to find out where the syllabus and the course schedule and when I told him about my trouble with links he said that since everything was fine on his end it wasn't his problem.
Delaney's class is tough, with heavy reading and strict exam policies. But tackle it head-on and Unstuck study can help with efficient study prep. Just be ready for a demanding workload.
For someone who is very disorganized when it comes to his website, blackboard, and syllabus, he is very sassy.
Had to drop considering how unorganized his class was as well as the heavy workload. Don't even get me started on his website, a 9 year old could make one better...
Choose another professor but Delaney.
crash out every week, only grades available to you are the three tests and the term paper that is a time period of 100 years and you have to use 15 sources and the entire textbook. I don't think he realizes we have other classes and work to do or he just doesn't care. TOO MUCH WORK and slightly rude.
Terrible. It's history 101, Delaney, not 4th year history… act like it. He never engages with the students. He rarely responds to emails. He's snarky and rude and gives awful feedback. He expects us to improve then doesn't tell us how. ONLINE YET HE IS TERRIBLE WITH TECHNOLOGY. Never again, he's only there because of tenure. Not hard, just bad prof
Would get mad if you didn't participate but would also get mad if you tried and got a question even just slightly wrong, often would walk out in the middle of class and would never come back, website is outdated and has many dead links and is listed on 'unsafe' on many modern browsers, changed the final's due date without any notice. Really rude.
'Hilarious' in the way that it is baffling that someone his age disrespects his students who are way younger than him, was very disrespectful over things such as personal clothing choices and hobbies despite it not being relevant to the course. He would also walk out of the middle of class and not come back, frustrating if you are trying to learn.
Do NOT take his class online. His website is outdated, and he takes WEEKS to grade. He has high standards, even though this is an intro course. He springs things upon you without an announcement; when he does make an announcement, it's buried, and you don't get a notification. You have a test EVERY WEEK. He is a harsh grader and expects perfection.
no respect towards students, never a good morning or hi in announcements or emails. very complicated grading if you get all multiple choice correct and make a mistake of not citing for short answers, you somehow fail? no flexibility and or understanding students at all. it seems most students have said the same given the 2.2 rating.
I wouldn't wish my worst enemy the pain of having him as their Professor. He's THAT BAD!
Worst professor I've ever had. The class was disorganized, instructions unclear, expectations constantly changed. The workload was excessive. Questions were met with sarcasm and dismissive responses. Despite earning A's on over 10 quizzes, I still failed. Avoid.
