I took the Coursera-UC San Diego MOOC "Learning How to Learn," with Dr. Sejnowski. It is a great course and Dr. Sejnowski is a fantastic instructor--he explains cutting edge neuroscience so you can understand it and see how it is used.

Loved the clarity of all the material

An eminently qualified expert in the study of cognitive processes. It was amazing to have his insight. But he is more cerebral than shakespearean. We are fortunate to learn from a man of this caliber.

Terrence J Sejnowski has an immense knowledge and understanding of his subjects. His advice (mentioned in the course) helped me find answers to many questions.

Prof. Sejnowski is knowledgable but spoke as if he is reading a prompter. Sometimes too erudite, not very friendly, and seems like he wants to get through the topic rather than tranfer his knowledge to the student. He was a contrast to the excellent Barbara Oakly.

Dr. Sejnowski was a guest lecturer for Coursera online course called Learning How To Learn. I found his talks on the science of learning and basics of brain function very enlightening and an excellent augmentation to Prof. Oakley's class.

I didn't have any problems with his lectures. He seemed a bit uncomfortable, maybe because he was reading a script- I would be uncomfortable as well. His information was clear, presented well and the "technical" parts were well blended with the "common language." I'd love to take any class that he teaches.

The lectures have information presented systematically. Lectures are a bit slow, but easy to follow and understand.

I had the opportunity to take an online course and see him in some of the video lectures -- he's great at teaching! Although sometimes the material can be a bit confusing, but it's not too much!

The subject matter is very interesting and Professor Terrence Sejnowski is obviously very knowledgeable about the subject matter contained in the lectures, however, he is not comfortable in recording the lectures, as he loses his place in the cue cards which causes his delivery to be stilted and difficult to follow at times. Great info nonetheless!

Most of the things that Dr. Sejnowski talked about was new to me and I thank him most profoundly for making this great effort to teach us. I could see that he didn't seem to be at ease in front of the camera but the more I appreciate him for taking the time. Please continue the great work Dr. Sejnowski, we need your brilliance.

Very clear videos, I loved the transcripts for note taking, especially for vocabspelling. Even though I answered every quiz question 100% correctly, I read and appreciated the explanations that followed, allowing me to enhance my learning and assure myself of the correct statements and why the statements were true or false.

I usually had to listen to the lectures twice to get what he was teaching. He was interesting. I enjoyed the illustrations of him running as it really reinforced the point that your neurons grown when you exercise.

A bit stiff at times but much improved in the Mindshift MOOC compared to the Learning How To Learn MOOC.

Dr Sejnowski is not only a very insightful professor but also keeps his doors open for new concepts. He appears quite humble at the same time very disciplined. He practices his teachings. A learned person indeed.

What I mean by that is NOT if you have not taken a physics class before and think you would do well because it's interesting/you're kinda smart. If you have not taken a physics course before and EXCELLED in said class, just don't take this class. Great professor, but the class is hard.

Professor brought his expertise from his field of study and research into the MOOC - Mindshift: Break Through Obstacles to Learning and Discover Your Hidden Potential, learned valuable and useful things from his lessons and finally I liked his teaching style.

Mr. Sejnowski is very soft-spoken and tells you only the stuff you really need.

He definitely knows his stuff! He is not difficult but you might want to take his lectures slow and take note or look up words you might not understand.

Professor REALLY knows his material so ask ?s in class. Best advice = Learn some of the formulas and understand their purpose. Very little structure so confusing, but possible.
