Have to come to class, she has a sign in sheet. You can miss 3 classes before she takes off of your grade. She's sometimes funny & easy to understand. Her powerpoints are detailed and I didn't need to buy the book. Tests are directly from notes and quizzes (online, once before each test and questions asked again on test)if you study she's very easy

This class was very interesting and Terri is an amazing professor. She lectures clearly and tells you what is going to be on the test. Attendance is not mandatory although she passes out a sign in sheet. Easy tests and quizzes, get to drop the lowest grade (or final!)

She has a dry sense of humor, but it's a lot of fun. She doesn't make the class feel like work. Taking two more of her classes in the Fall.

This class is super easy if you've already taken a few core classes some of the subjects are intertwined. She's really laid back and easy to approach and is interesting when she lectures. All you have to do is read the book and study and do your homework to make an easy A.

Awesome professor. Teaches clearly and from the book. She dismisses your lowest exam grade and goves very helpful study guides. I had her for both Drugs in Society and Criminology and I enjoyed both.

She is an awesome prof. If you read the book and go to the lectures you'll get an A. If you don't understand, she will take the time at the end of class to explain it to you. She does reviews for every test, and posts notes online. She gives bonus points for showing up, but no extra credit. She curves very well though. I loved her!

Excellent teacher, she's funny, kind, easygoing, and smart. She'll give you bonus points on certain days so just show up. She passes an attendance sheet but it's not mandatory. No pop quizzes. Tests are straight from lecture and book. Study and you'll get an A. Would def take and recommend her to others.

I took Earnest for Criminology and Race and Ethnic Relations this semester and both of her classes were excellent! She has great knowledge of her field of study and she really loves what she does. Classes cover interesting material and she definitely helps keep your attention. Would recommend any of her classes to soc and non soc majors.

Took Criminology with her. Was a very interesting class. She's very helpful and what she expects out of you is crystal clear. As for the person complaining about her attitude, if you act like a child and are disruptive and can't give the same undivided attention that the instructor is giving you, then get the hell out or go back to high school!

One of my favorite professors. you will definitely LEARN in her class and it won't be a waste of time. Sbe's knowledgeable and direct. Simple assignments, test are from her notes and the book. I don't mind when she calls people out for being rude and disrupting class. People are acting like babies because they're expected to pay attention in class

Best teacher I have had so far at UTSA. Her test are just like the assessments, and she gives you the short answer questions before the test. Lectures are bearable, and she goes out of her way to answer any and all questions. As long you go to class, you will be fine. She gives extra points for attendance.

She's a great teacher. Anyone getting a B in her classes just didn't try hard enough because she gives you a lot of leeway to attain an A. Her classes are very interesting. Boo hoo for those that think she's so strict. Grow up! Show up to class, turn of your phone, pay attention, and show some courtesy. This is college, not high school!

I took criminology with her and if I could take more classes with her I would. She's a great professor and has really interesting lectures. I'm actually glad that she's strict with ppl talking & such, some other professors don't care & it's so annoying sitting there trying to listen while they're blabbing in your ear.Take her if you get the chance!

Dr. Earnest is the best!!! She is so much fun and her classes are super interesting. You do need the book, but it's really easy to read/follow. She gives out bonus words and is always there to help you with any questions you may have. If I wasn't graduating next semester, I would totally take her again!!!

Doesn't tolerate people coming in late or talking. Her tests can be hard if you don't study. Very inconsistent grader. Lots of mistakes on tests but she will only tell the person who caught it the right answer. She also gave me a 96 on an assessment and my bf a 100 when we turned in the same exact answers, but wouldn't check his grade.

Took Earnest for Violence & Society. She hates it when people are late to class or are on their phones during lecture. Don't do that and you'll be cool. Attendance is required. Her exams aren't too bad. Light studying & attendance required for an A. Easiest class I took this semester. If you want to boost your GPA, take her. I personally liked her.

Dr. Earnest is very down to earth and is clear on what to expect on exams. Her lectures are not to be missed since they include exam material. You must read the chapters also. Do not leave class,arrive late, or disrupt others. Otherwise, she has fun relaying criminology material and loves students who interact with her lectures. I do recommend her.

This professor was one of my favorites. She is upfront with what she wants from her class. She doesn't make it a requirement to come to class, but NEVER be late. She will call people out for sleeping or being on their phone. Notes are online, but its what she lectures on in class that really helps. She also gives random points during class.

Great Professor! Interesting & fun class. She doesn't allow arriving late or chit-chatting. Thank goodness!! Easy A! All based on points & she gives plenty of them. 3 Exams + optional final & 4 assessments & 4 assignments. All help with exams since same questions show up on exam; so she is doing you a favor!! She is very clear on assignments, make sure your there for class because the slides will be on the test and more added info. if your late she will make it known and stop class. I learned a lot from her, very interesting and class has a clear understanding. tests are average if you study and take notes and attend. great teacher overall. great class.

4 exams, 4 homework, 2 assignments, drops lowest exam, no cumulative final. She's awesome, shows videos, adds supplemental articles, goes in depth, answers questions. Easy A for minimal effort. DO NOT TAKE if you are late, talk in class, text in class, or use laptop for anything other than note taking SHE WILL STOP LECTURE TO CALL YOU OUT.

Easiest course i have taken ever yet you learn alot very cool teacher and tells you exactly what she wants you to know if you have a free elective just take her seriously its an easy a did nothing it felt like and passed with an A without taking the final

Excellent prof, very punctual as far as attendance and deadlines which I find great. You'll get good statstheories and a chance @ a different perspective on the "justice" system if nothing else. Gives every opportunity to make an A; go to class, do your hw, do assignments you can even cram for the tests. Highly recommended.

The best class ever. Attendance is not mandatory but you should go because her lectures are really fun. Shes cool people and likes to joke around. Read the textbook it will save you. Got an A and didn't even have to take the final.

She's not an easy professor but if you attend class and do the assignments you can make an A. She's very fair and quite funny. I really enjoyed her.

Show up to class & do NOT be late! Not mandatory attendance, but the benefits are worth showing up. Participate for extra credit. Assignmentshomework are easy, but tests are a bit tricky. Make sure to read, or at least skim the book. Put in even the most minimal effort in this class & it's an easy A.

I've taken a number of Dr. E's sociology and criminology courses. She is very helpful and will give practice testsstudy tools before each exam. If you do well on these, you will do great on the exams. Don't be late or get caught using your phone during class, you'll be asked to leave immediately.

Dr. E is a great professor. I haven't heard a single negative comment about her. She will make you read and write, but nothing more than any other college professor. She is particular in how she wants her assignments turned it, just follow directions and you'll do fine. Finally, don't be late to her class or you will be asked to leave.

My favorite professor at UTSA. My second class with her and she was great! Literally how can anyone not get an A? Her study tools help so much for the tests. They aren't super easy but the E book is easier to get the answers tbh. NOT A BLOW OFF CLASS BY ANY MEANS! But literally i wish there were more professors like her.

Dr. Earnest is definitely loved because of her laid back approach and humor. I could definitely appreciate her humor to spice up the somewhat monotonous material, but I would have been more interested if the material weren't so redundant. You could probably do without the book but I found it helpful to clarify topics.

Dr. Earnest has a great sense of humor! Which is great for when she is talking about serious topics. Exams are not so bad, just as long as you complete the study guide and practice tests. There are 2 assignments during the semester, which are incredibly easy. Attendance isn't mandatory, but beneficial to get extra credit points. I loved this class!

Terri Earnest taught a great Violence in Society class. She was hilarious and even though the subject matter was heavy, she made it interesting and worth showing up. Attendance was optional. Her study guides for exams were super helpful. Most of the questions on the exam were from the study guide. Loved the segment on Serial Killers! Great Teacher!

She is such an amazing professor. Although some of her students continuously asked about things that were already clear, she was very respectful in her responses. The class is very straight forward if you are failing it is because you are a TOTAL slacker, I took her course with four senior level classes and passed with an A.

Professor Earnest is a funny and approachable teacher, she does her best to make class interesting and makes it easy to pass the class. If you score below an A, that's on you.

Dr. Earnest is a wonderful professor taking her class was a joy. She is hilarious and makes her lectures fun. She genuinely wants you to understand the material. Just read the assigned chapter which are very interesting and show up to lecture it's an easy A. Sometimes bonus points are given if you attend lecture.

The online assignments are really spread out in dates! She gives you about a week or two to do your assignments, and they're all very simple to do. Didn't use a textbook and passed with an A. Easy and informative course!

This course is centered around the assigned chapter readings and supplemental videos. I found this course really interesting and would definitely take more classes with Prof. Earnest.

Well organized class, schedule is clear. grading policy is clear. easy to communicate with and you don't need the book, just review her soft chalk power points (you'll still absorb the information.) . Easy A for those who have a busy schedule.

Class is simple and smooth. Unlimited retakes on quizzes. 4 Major test and the highest grade will replace the lowest. Test information very obtainable online. I knocked out my work 1 month early. Not alot of communication because its all very clearly written. Easy A with some interesting topics covered. I enjoyed the course.

Work is definitely easy and her lectures are very interesting. Criminology is something I find very interesting and her class definitely hit the spot.

One important advice to give about this class: DO NOT OVERTHINK THE ASSIGNMENTS. I spent so much time stressing about whether my work is sufficient enough to submit when it ended up being 100% anyway. This class is incredibly simple, but for exams, be sure to read the text and other information she gives. This was an awesome class to experience!

Professor Earnest does a great job on setting expectation right upfront- READ the syllabus, follow the due dates, read the chapters and you will succeed! I have taken two classes, two different semesters and both were fully online. I appreciate the due dates and work being completely clear and easy to understand- Highly recommend this professor!

Some of the exams are textbook heavy but I advice to take this class with her as it is an easy A and would help boost your GPA.

This class was very interesting but Dr. E will definitely make you work for your grade, it is not an easy A. She is easy going, but just make sure to stay on top of reading, and completing your modules and attend the class meetings. She is very passionate about this class and will hold you to it!

Loved this class. It was a truly self paced. Prof pretty much had all the assignments open for u to complete at your leisure, of course there was due dates but u could get ahead & free up time for other classes, a fair amount of work (seems like alot )but easy she gives you all the tools to complete it. She checks in often & grades quickly.

Took Criminology online for Fall 2021. It is an Easy A but do no leave the work to the last minute. 2 major due dates in the semester. Used Vantage program for all testing, chapter quizzes, and assignments. Not a difficult class but it is time consuming. Professor kept in touch through emails. Highly recommend!

Dr. E is a very caring professor. She has it to where it is almost impossible to fail her class (if you stay on top of your work). She is also accessible via zoom if you want to see her "face-to-face" rather than messaging on blackboard. Her softchalk lectures are well thought-out and they are concise. I also liked that she provided practice tests

I took Dr. E for SOC 3053 and could not have been happier. All of the course material was right there front-and-center for you to get started. She does not provide all the material needed to pass the quizzes, so the textbook is a must-have. I am excited to have her again for SOC 4023 and SOC 4213 next semester!

each chapter has knowledge checks & test which are added to your grade. The main things graded on is Exams (4) 50qs 60mins time was stressful at first but easy.

She is very clear from the start of expectations. Not many assignments are given (two or three and an exam) but you have about four weeks to complete them. For this class you do have to read a lot since it is a fully online course.

Prof. Earnest is the best of the best. She cares and is passionate about her teachings. Her lectures are not boring. Lots of work, but if you like a good mystery, this is the class for you. She is always available to assist.

Gave out all the assignments for the chapter and you had a month to finish the section. The assigments are super easy and the tests follow the assignments. Communicates quickly if there are any issues and fixes them as quickly as possible, very understanding. You could go through this course without the book but every once in a while it is helpful.

I just took Professor Earnest for a 5-week online summer course for criminology. She spaces out her assignments pretty well, but it is a good amount of fairly simple work. She really is one of those professors, where the course is hard to fail. She's great at communicating her deadlines and makes assignments pretty easy to understand.

Love Dr. Earnest. Great professor, will be taking another one of her classes. She is accessible outside of class and gives some extra credit. Had fun in the class. 10/10.

I never spoke to her because it was all online, but I could see her personality peek through her lecture slides! At the beginning of the semester there were a lot of issues with vantage, but she fixed everyones grades as long as you emailed her :) I suggest following her calendar if you're doing online to manage your workload, but its manageable.

Although her class was completely online, she was very organized through her canvas. Assignments were due every 2 weeks, but there were a lot of assignments. Sent out reminders every week about the assignments so I wouldn't forget since it was my only online class. Great communication through canvas and easy to get ahold of.

She is so nice and funny. Her lectures have a tons of class participation which makes it fun and engaging. Assignments are majority online and her notes are helpful. Attendance isn't mandatory but there is in class participation points you will miss if you are absent.

This professor is great if you are truly passionate to what she is going to teach. Her homework is really loaded, and it takes time.

The professor is amazing. It is not often that I find instructors who are this dedicated to explaining concepts to students. She offers clear directions, due dates, and extra credit assignments. She is also available during office hours and email. Enroll any of her courses if you want an easy A. You got this for sure!

I like this class, but the Sage Vantage book, chapter quizzes, and mini quizzes embedded in the book were a little excessive on top of the 75-question exams we would have after 1-3 chapters. Overall, I liked the material but think it got too heavy at times in terms of the workload.

I took it for the summer so it was fast paced and a lot of assignments, but this is an easy course. Mandatory to buy the access code for homework. I would definitely take her course again.

I highly recommend taking her class. Her grading guidelines are simple to understand and the work isn't too much. I took her for a summer class and it was a great decision. No mandatory acess code for this class either.
