This teacher is very good! She knows her stuff. She gives wonderful outlines of the material she is covering for the day. Her test are simple, and if James Madison is an option on a multiple choice test, James Madison is the answer! She kooky, but smart

Good teacher, very funny, but the tests are confusing sometimes because what she goes over in class isn't always on the tests, but stuff that has never been mentioned is. Just make sure to read the material more than once

The class is not easy, but Dr. Fine is so nice and makes what would normally be a boring subject, fun! If you read and study you should do fine. Just make sure you keep up with the material. Great teacher!
Prof gives no expectations or list of things to be included and then takes points off for their lack of inclusion. You will lose points on papers for not including a word count, However, she doesn't tell you that in advance.
If I could have those 4 mos back of my life I'd be happy. Yes, I got an A, but what a horrible teacher. No control of the classroom, no discernable lesson plan and incoherent half the time. The exams didn't test what was taught or what was in the book!
Very nice teacher, test are not easy, and can sometimes be confusing. Material in class is not always on test and vice versa.
It was half way fun at first but had to drag my self to the class towards the end, SO BORING! Then I would end up daydreaming. Print out the notes she gives you online so you dont have to write so much and just half way pay attention and youll do fine.
The teacher very covertly injects her political bias into the lectures. She seems to care about the students success in the class but she doesn't always accept answers on tests that she provided word-for-word during the lectures.
Had her for Amer Nat Gov't. Her voice gets annoying. She does help if you ask, as for her test: she tells u to study something, and quizes you on that and more. Just doesnt seem to be alright. Not bad, just study more than what she says.
This professor is very fair. Her tests come directly from the lecture. You do have to remember lots of material, but its easy. Be sure to write extra on each question to make sure to get all the credit.

I am really surprised that she has any bad rating. I had her for national government and thought she was a great teacher. Funny and easy to get along with. Very helpful. She does expect you to study, but isn't that why you guys are here?
Terrible. Actually told a student in class that he was "thinking too much like a political scientist." Isn't this a political science class??? Essays are graded all or nothing most of the time. Contradicts herself and the book.
Took this class over the summer. It was so easy! If you're gonna take it, take it during summer its a lot less work.
Her lectures were very hard to follow, they went all over the place, and the book didn't go along with her lectures, but she does seem to be helpful.

WORST TEACHER!!!! She came up with her own grading scale and gave me a B when I had an average grade of a 93. How did that happen? She is very unclear and unhelpful. She sucks!!

I have taken Dr. Fine for twice and I think she is a great professor. I'm not the best student and I did great in her classes. Test are easy if you study. Maybe those complaining shouldn't be taking upper level courses. Grow up!
This teacher is awful. She is not interested in the students learning. I am a honor student that carries a 3.8 average and I find myself struggling in this class. She takes off points on her own terms and when you question her about it matters get worse.
She will challenge you, so if you not up to defending your position do not try to do it.
I've taken two classes with her... got good grades in both (an A and a B). I don't think she's a good teacher. She gives grades based on her opinion of you and not your caliber of work. I think that she is also very cold and believes that she is superior

Very arbitrary teacher. Also, when you go to see her you receive little help yet when you go to talk after you get a poor grade she instantly has all the answers. Bottom line she's on a power trip and I think Jesus would get a B in her class

Pay attention, go to class, do the work. If you can accomplish those things you will pull a B no problem,garnering an A is rather difficult though. She's EXTREMELY accomadating with office hours and has helped me out tremendously (even trying to secure an internship). Not unreasonable, believe me
If your not a serious student, don't bother. I did my work and expect an A. And I am not a Polly Si major. Presents both sides of an argument. Pick a side and back it up. Would take her again.
Very good, professional person. As long as you take the class seriously, you should not have a problem. Just make sure to go to all classes, take notes, read text, etc. Not an Easy A professor!

Took the online class; way to much busy work. She is also a harsh grader. The course is very interesting, but the type and frequency of assignments takes away from the experience. If you do all the assignments expect a "B".

Fine grades papers not based on merit but on what her personal feelings are of you as a student. Her grading scale is based on starting every student at 0 and going up. That means that the possiblity of getting an A is extremely low. Unless your a woman then apparently she gives you an A

She is unclear on her insturctions. She grades papers based not only on your sex, but her personal feelings on the issue. And the best part is that when you don't understand something she tells you and I quote "Your notes shoudl tell you." Instead of properly explaining the concept. She is evil and the wordt professor that I have ever had.

Professor Fine was nice, at least in our class, but was VERY unclear about what she wanted on the exams. In Honors, be prepared for essay finals! The highest midterm grade was a low C for our Honors class. Very unclear and a difficult class because of it, but the class can be interesting.
SHE IS A GREAT PROF IN CLASS, BUT THE MIN YOU GO TO HER OFFICE SHE REALLY DOESN'T CARE. I FEEL THAT SHE IS REALLY BIASED, AND UNJUST. I DO NOT RECOMMEND TO HER ANYONE. IT ALMOST SEEMS LIKE SHE DOESN'T CARE FOR A STUDENTS PROGRESS.

SHE IS CRAZY! I worked my ass off in this class! I went to see her at least once a week. I did what she said and still recieved D's or F's on course work. I turned in over 20 pages for my final and she gave me an F!!!! DON"T TAKE HER SHE IS HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!
Do not take a course from this professor if you are male or a good student. She enjoys feeling superior, and will not give you a good grade. She refuses to help you with work or even explain her grading requirements. Grading has nothing to do with writing quality, content, or original thought - just her opinion of you and how she feels that day.
Odd grading system. Gave most of us a 0 out of 100 on our research proposals. 'Kind of a slap on the face, really. A weeks worth of work down the drain. Half the class dropped before add/drop last call.
Absolutely horrible professor. All we learned was that she's a failure in the publishing world and that she doesn't know the scientific method at all since what she taught us was contradictory to what all our textbooks and other Political Science professors teach.
This teacher is horrible. Her grading is horrible you need to write her essay tests the way SHE wants it written. If you don't then you get an F. She goes off on tangents all the time, and her notes are useless. She expects you to write what you think is important for the tests. Do yourself a favor and do not take her.

Dr. Fine is very ambiguous in what she wants from you in this class. She asks many questions that have multiple answers, but she is looking only for the answer that SHE wants. Tests are not that easy but not too hard - all writing, of course. Don't take her if you don't have to. Oh and she is OBSESSED with James Madison.
I'm not at all clear on what's going on with the other reviewers. I think she's great. She's very nice and very knowledgeable. I also think she isn't biased against dissenting opinions. I got an A in the class. I believe that if you act like a responsible adult, you'll do well with Dr. Fine.
I gotta say, I am surprised at the tone of these reviews. I am a guy, got an A and found her to be very helpful in her office she even wrote an LOR for law schoolf for me. Also, she was respectful to other points of view. She responded to every e mail I ever sent her and I found her tests and requirements to be very clear.
Had her for scope and methods of poltics. Class wasnt overally hard. Lots of assignments that seem like busy work. She isnt very clear and class was pretty disorganized, but she is a nice lady overall. 2 tests, articles every other week, book work every week, final 10 page paper. She isnt as bad as everyone says as long as you do you work.

While Dr. Fine is really nice and fairly interesting, she isn't clear at all on what she wants in assignment. Guidelines for final paper are vague and leave you wondering if you actually did what you were asked. Things will be pass/fail without her telling, and there is tons of tedious busy work.
I think Dr. Fine has to be my favorite professor to this day. She is so helpful and extremely interesting. I had previously read her ratings and they are soo wrong. She expects you to do the work, and be in class. Do not take her if you want an easy A. If you want to learn, I strongly recommend Dr. Fine!!!
Dr. Fine is an outstanding professor! I took her Political Psychology class online and learned a lot. There are weekly quizzes and papers, but it's not overbearing and the course is extremely well organized. The course books aren't bad either. I am going to try to take her again.
I took Political Psychology online over the summer. Quiz every week with 10 multiple choice ques. You also have an essay due every week that requires internet sources and lots of research. The books for the class are VERY difficult to read/understand and are boring. The good thing is you can pretty much bs the essays and still get by with A.

This professor makes no sense in her grading at all. I would stay as far away from her as possible!
She is the most unfair grader I've ever experienced. 60% of the class failed the first test and she has the nerve to go on a rant about how we all were on facebook during class time. She needs to stop teaching if its just one big ego trip for her. I learned more from the book than her feeble minded self righteous dribble.
Professor Fine is hands down the worst professor I have ever had. She is not clear in instructions whatsoever and is extremely uncompromising. She is a narrow minded individual and should not be allowed to teach at this or any university for that fact.
Have taken a couple online classes with her. She is extremely unclear in communication. However, once you understand what she is looking for in her assignments the courses are very easy. Easy A if you understand that 5 references does not mean 5 sources, it means 5 references to the book. Quizzes, discussion posts, and short papers make up grade.
Great prof. Need to know what you're talking about for tests, but it's a senior class, people. Read the book and actually go to lecture. Highly knowledgeable about religion and politics. Very friendly in class.
Dr. Fine is one of the best professors I have had in my college career. She is very helpful and really wants to see you succeed. Her classes are demanding, though, so be prepared to work. She does have a wide variety of assignments to help you earn a good grade, though. I've taken 2 classes with her so far, both As.

Online. Grade is based on thirteen 10 question quizzes you can take twice, eight short papers (including the final), and five discussion posts. You're allowed to miss one quiz, discussion post, and paper. She even lets you choose the final paper as the one you'd like to skip. Papers are challenging but she is helpful if you have any questions.
This class is easy if you follow directions.For the modules, all you need is to get the right word count (400-600 words), cite the book/court case at least 10 times total, and answer the question in a minimally coherent fashion and you can get an A. An amazing course! You will learn a lot! :)
Dr. Fine is an excellent professor. I had her for many classes in political science while I was at UCF. She was always helpful, and available, by email or during office hours, and she wrote me a great letter of recc. for law school several years after I graduated.
Her class seems very straight forward, however her directions are very confusing. You need to be a mind reader to get a good grade on assignments and discussions. Most people are failing this class! It's not a difficult class. She is a disorganized mess! Choose another professor!

You can get an A in this class if you are very detailed oriented. Make sure that you read the Student Protocols and Syllabus very thoroughly (8 times). She drops one grade from each category: Discussion/Quiz/Internet Modules. Important because you will probably get a zero on your first attempts due to lack of clarity. Not the best, but doable.
Do not take this class/professor unless you want to be continually confused and frustrated. Directions are so unclear and if you email her to clarify, you will still be confused. Dr. Fine's assignments are difficult and you will read and be quizzed on every chapter of the two books. You must also follow every direction to a tee or you will lose major points. She is more than happy to clarify any and all questions however and is very knowledgeable! Also, an A is a 95% and up!
Avoid enrolling in her class! If you wish to learn this subject in a well structured classroom, this class is not for you. I write research papers every other week but I had trouble keeping up with her specific rules and expectations from her assignments. You can contact her day and night but she will not budge on wrongfully graded assignments.
This class was so great! Definitely a lot of work and realistically can only miss one assignment & still get an A. It's challenging but not overbearing. Quizzes once a week, discussion posts throughout course, and module that require a certain amount of citations. It's super easy to get full credit on anything as long as you FOLLOW THE SYLLABUS!
Grading is all or nothing, miss a discussion response? 0 for the entire discussion. Use an outside source from the one provided? 0. It is more work than it should be, not worth the time and stress. Very rigid grading, no lectures, power points or overviews of the text. Very poor grading rubric and outline, assignments are interesting.
This is my first semester with Dr. Fine! Her class overall was fun and exciting to learn. She is extremely strict with grading, but as long as you follow her outlines you will do well in the course. I will be taking her next semester!
Dr. Fine is fine. You don't talk to her unless you message her. You get 2 chances for each quiz (same questions). Discussions are easy 100s. The 250 point essays suck. Impossible word limits given how many text references you MUST include and the breadth of topics. Subject material starts strong but policy change textbook is irrelevant to psych.
If she is the only option you have... Switch majors.
Listening to this woman lecture is more difficult than reading the most confusing political science textbook. She bounces around from topic to topic to topic! She is very unorganized in her thoughts and goes off on so many tangents during the lecture, it's unbearable. So, so difficult to pay attention to.
She lets her graduate assistant do all the grading and everything is done by a rubric. There is no real feedback and the assistant is just annoying.
I think the most frustrating part of the class is that she uses a rubric that is either this or that, so you either get all your points or pretty much nothing at all. If you were confused about something she wanted in a paper get ready to sack points. The papers are also really short with lots citations required. The lectures are just ok.
It can be hard to get in the swing of things with Dr. Fine at first, but once you do and can figure out what she is looking for she is not a bad professor. She seemed to care a lot about the class as a whole and could tell when things were getting overwhelming. She is easily accessible outside of class.
Is an extremely tough grader. Clearly does not want her students to succeed. Get ready to get a 0 on an assignment for making a minuscule mistake!!! Seriously, just take a different professor, you're going to end up working way too hard and only end of getting a B at most because she follows an absurdly rigid and nonsensical rubric/syllabus.
The assignments aren't too bad but she follows a very strict grading rubric for discussions and assignments. You must pay attention to it but even then you may make one mistake and get zero points for a whole area of the rubric because of it. It's possible to do good but you have to be careful. She responds to emails and communications with class.
Do NOT take this professor. It doesn't matter how much you may be passionate about the subject she teaches because she will ruin it for you. She alternates between discussions, intense 250 point assignments and quizzes. If you do not meet her insane requirements, you will get a 0. She doesn't do anything to help you succeed. This class is definitely tough. The class is internet modules, quizzes, and discussions. The quizzes are right out of the book and discussions are graded as long as you do them. The internet modules are tough due to the word count and sources needed but as long as you follow the rubric 100% you'll do fine.
Honestly, the absolute worse class I have ever had. she is the toughest professor I have had when it comes to grading. I have taken 400 level class before and this felt like a class for master students. she expects a lot out of her students and honestly it seems as if she doesn't want you to succeed. pick another teacher!
I am a strong student so thought I would ignore the warnings. DONT. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. The most unempathetic professor I have ever had. Don't even think about getting sick and submitting a doctors note. Her grading is very strict, rubrics all or nothing. Takes an initiative and passion out of you.

This is the worst professor at UCF. Literally take anything else. I accidentally took her again and she is doing her best to fail me, along with everyone else it seems. If you cite too many sources, you get a 0. Don't cite enough, 0. Cite sources other than assigned ones, 0. She is a miserable human. She gets off on watching students fail.
I actually enjoyed taking her classes. She has a strict schedule that is really easy to follow, is a harsh grader if you don't follow the rubric's requirements exactly, and was really understanding when I submitted the wrong module, giving me a whole week to re-submit. I recommend this professor, I enjoyed every class so far. Just stay organized!
She gave me a zero on assignment because I forgot to capitalize Medicare. Needs you to fit 15 sources into a 500 word essay with no room for opinion. Busy work. Never would take this teacher again. Didn't realize a simple grammatical error would land me a zero after spending two hours on it.
currently trying to fit 25 citations into 800 words. do the math and thats 32 words per citation not including intro and conclusion. Worst teacher i've had in all my years of schooling. this is the only review i've written here, and i am doing this as a warning to boycott her classes.
Requires 20 citations for 500 word "essays". Gave me a 0 on a discussion for missing one source. Tough grader is one thing but she doesn't even give you a chance. There is no room for error in her classes. There is no room for abstract thought or your own opinion in writing. Just force in the sources. Miss 2 put of 20? Immediate B. Terrible teacher
Other reviews are being extra. Took this course online, it wasn't easy, but wasn't terrible. Any emails you send, she responds quick. Quizzes were hard are not on quizlet. Very clear when grading and great feedback. About a 3/5 on difficulty. No textbook required or proctoring during quizzes (thank God)
The hardest grader ever. Does not offer partial credit so if she doesn't clarify something in the syllabus or rubric she is happy to give you zeros on 200 point assignments. Cite everything and follow the rubric to a T.
The MOST frustrating class I've ever taken. She will fail you no questions asked on any assignment if you miss one requirement or she wasn't satisfied with it. Honestly the worst professor and experience I've ever had at UCF. Her grading is ridiculous. I'm a 4.0 student and a few weeks into her class I had a D.
Her class is so unnecessarily difficult. The assignments are easy but she finds ways to take of points off for insignificant things. Instead of taking points off, she'll say an assignment was not eligible for credit. Definitely the worst teacher I've had at UCF.
She has a vague syllabus but I will tell you if you have an issue with her policies she does not care. Tips to pass:submit on time she will give a zero if you are 1 min late, don't go over the word limit you will lose all points in that section and in other rubric parts, cite (name, pg) or paragraph for EVERYTHING. You will get a zero if you don't.
For the love of god do not take this teacher. She has a vague syllabus and rubric that she will not hesitate to manipulate to give you a zero on a completed assignment. Incredibly condescending if you have any concerns. If you are able to follow her ghost rubric you'll get a 100 but even a slight error can get you a 0. I'm not kidding.
Seriously don't take this prof. Her grading criteria is very harsh and not consistent. Civic Engagement shouldn't be a hard class and she makes it impossible. The average grade for the last module was 25% for this very easy essay which she somehow twisted the rubric to give me and most of the class that grade. Avoid at all costs.
Worst professor I've ever had in my entire life. She is the harshest grader I've ever seen. One missing page number in an in text cite is the difference between a C and an A. I emailed her about a zero she gave me on one of our papers questions, and in her response she completely made up a part of the question that didn't even exist in the rubric.
Dr. Fine's class was well-structured. Every week there are writing assignments. They are a bit laborious w/ lots of articles. Discussions are simple enough. Overall, the book is interesting and the class is straight forward. However some of the grading from the rubric was unnecessarily rough. However, if you follow it VERY closely you'll be fine.
I am currently taking Dr. Fine's Political Psychology class and find her to be more than fair. The class is structured, textbooks are a bit of a boring read but the class I find interesting! She allows each quiz 2x! Discussions are very fairly graded. Papers have a rigid rubric, when she grades I get a good grade, the teaching assistant not so much
Worst professor I ever had. Does not provide any lecture notes. Heavy reading which really wont matter for the class. Assignments aren't clear and is a tough grader if they don't meet the criteria she wants which she doesn't elaborate on. She lowered my paper by 2 grades because it was two sentences too long!! She also doesn't give feedback.
I would recommend that you never take this class with her if you dont want to fail. I accidentally took it a second time after failing the first time. If you miss one citation or one capitalization its a 0. Wouldnt let me rewrite a paper, doesnt really care about how you feel. Just really not a good teacher. No second chances with her at all
My grade is listed as "NOT SURE YET" because she never released grades as the semester was going on and my last assignment was graded two days ago. She unclear about what she wants in assignments and her grading system makes no sense. She'll expect you to pull 5 sources from a 300 word reading assignment, then doc points for quoting too much of it
I'll be honest I hate that I didn't dislike her class more. In the couple conversations I had with her she was super nice. However, her class is awful, don't follow the rubric it's an instant 0. Literally follow everything she says if not it's a zero, he papers are hard. I'm an Honors student and I got a D so that tells all.
The only prof I've ever considered dropping out of college over. She's rude, gaslights, & couldn't provide clear instructions if they were pre-typed by God Himself. Legit proved her test was flawed with book citations and she laughed at me. Classwork is easy except you have to guess what she wants. 10/10 do NOT recommend. Fun material tho
DO NOT TAKE! Even though I followed the rubrics as closely as possible, put effort into the writing, and read the materials, I still received several F's for the written assignments. Horrible feedback. I got more points deducted from components of the assignment than the expected deduction according to the rubric. I've never for more discouraged.
Literally the worst professor I have ever had in my entire life. No one here is joking in regards to her grading. I assume she paints a picture of her students in her head based on the writing and immediately determines wether she like you or not. I will need to withdraw to save GPA and heartache because two weeks in Im at an F. Im a 3.1 gpa stud
I've had Prof. Fine as an instructor three times and she demands your best. The first two classes I received A's and the third I got a C. If you miss a assignment or your under word count, it truly seems to affect how she grades you throughout the semester. Be prepared for tough grading and a teacher who will wreck your grade over bad grammar.
I don't really understand the bad ratings for this Professor. I took Politics and Religion with her, and I enjoyed it. I downloaded the book for free online. The course load wasn't terrible, but expect to write/read. She is actually very clear on her grading criteria, but you CANNOT deviate from it one iota. Put in the work, and you'll be fine.
Currently in the middle of taking her class and wish i would have read the reviews before i took her class. She does indeed do every single thing that the reviews say. Gives low word count assignments (300 words) and requires you to stay within 10 percent of that while also citing the textbook 4 times. Avoid at all costs.
This professor ruined my grade because of one essay. I had a high A and then received a bad grade on the essay, which brought me down to a D. I asked her if I could please resubmit, but she was incredibly out of touch and asked me to resubmit for a critique but wouldn't grade it. I had no choice but to withdraw. She screwed me over.
I was shocked to see the bad reviews for her. While it wasn't the easiest or most lenient class ever, it was enjoyable and an easy A as long as you put in the work. She specifies everything she wants to see in your essays, and as long as you stay on topic you'll get a good grade. Sometimes she would take points off for random things but that's it.
