This is a very difficult course, but she does a great job helping the students the best she can. She volunteers several hours a week to help students that are struggling one on one. This course is not easy, but if you are going to take this course, make sure it is from her!

This course is difficult, but if you have to take it definately take it from Morgan. She does all of the homework in class so that no one is left behind. All of the mathematical problems that are required on skill quizzes and exams are done in class. There is a lot of hype that the class is difficult, it is only demanding like a mini math course.
Hardest Business Class at Weber State (depending on who you had for Logistics). Prof. Morgan is very helpful. The skills quizzes are a pain in the a**, and the Final is extremely hard. Best to take this class in the Summer with no other courses.
I wish this class was split over two semesters. It covers a ton of info quickly. Luckily, Terri has this class down to a science. She rushes through this class and barely manages to cover all of it before the semester ends, yet she does it thoroughly and clearly. Take FIN 3200 from her if you can.
I loved this class and this teacher made it a lot of fun. She's easy going and down to earth and she's completely willing to help if you need it. This is a gateway class for all finance majors and she does a good job of providing an overview of finance principles.
Fantastic professor! Wants students to actually learn the material, not just "learn for the test". Explains the why and the how clearly and is available outside of class as well. She does not play games, meaning that she will tell you what is on the skill quizzes and exams and will not leave you "in the lurch" wondering what to expect. A+
Great teacher. Don't take this class in the summer. It's too much information for 7 weeks....but if you do take it from her.
Great Professor! The class is difficult but she makes it bearable. If you have to take this class definitely take it from her. There's a lot of touch material but she forces you to keep up with it with the skills quizzes which I appreciated. She also goes over every homework problem in class.
Terri is great. She really works with you and wants you to learn the material. I always see her in her office helping students. Hands down the FIN 3200 professor to have.
I took this class in a summer block. It was hard and very busy, but if that is your only class you will be fine. Terri is an amazing teacher. She is good to explain the material. She wants the students to learn the material. The quizzes help you to remember the information. She lets you know what is going to be on the tests. Best class I've taken!
This may be the most disappointed I have ever been in a class/professor. Class consists of a reading of authors textbook answers, reading of text slide, and off hand in-class assignments. I felt like the professor put very little thought and effort into the class. All learning was on my own, she was zero help. If you have any other option take it!!
She is not an amazing teacher at all. She'd show up late almost every day, keep class late, and get annoyed if people left on time. She also HATES when you ask questions in class. She moves very fast and doesnt want to be slowed down. All she does is read slides off a powerpoint. Very little teaching involved. Gets snappy if you ask her to clarify
Dr. Morgan's vocab questions on her test are my biggest complaint. Those were very unclear. And she moves extremely fast and tries to cram far too much info into one class period. However, I think she was an extremely helpful instructor. She tells you exactly what problems will be on exams, and is willing to spend time outside of class to help.
She is a horrible teacher. Her test questions had some really vague questions. Especially vocabulary. Crams way too much into one class. And she's kinda rude. You have to get 100% on quizzes and assignments to get credit. Id recommend avoiding her honestly. Not impressed with her as a teacher or person
It was a great class and I really enjoyed the stock market game that I ended up winning my class.
She's pretty bad. Crams way too much into one class. I too have noticed that she doesn't like it when you asks questions or don't understand it the first time. I wouldnt take this class from her.
Do not take her night class she crams way to much into each class period. She is pretty straight forward with her expectations. But the way the class is laid out really doesn't work when you only meet once a week.
By far one of the hardest classes that I have had so far in the business program. There is a lot of material she has to cover so she goes super fast! My recommendation take this class early on during your time at WSU and take it during a semester that you have easy classes. NEVER MISS CLASS!!! Attendance is a must!!!
Took Morgan this Spring 2014. Great Professor! She rewards those who study. You can find answers to HW problems online. She tells you exactly what will be on the exams & quizzes. Do ALL HW probs & you'll be fine.
It's not THAT hard, but whatever you do, don't miss class and don't fall behind. Pay attention, take notes, study for the tests and you'll be OK. She's very clear about what's expected and what assignments are due when. I took the class summer block, and it wasn't as bad as I feared. She's a good teacher and will answer questions.
The course and assignments are challenging but Professor Morgan really explains everything precisely and reviews exams extremely well. She is the best professor I've had in terms of preparing students for exam assignment materials. It is very clear what will be on the exams.
tests are hard. quizzes are all or nothing for credit. you get two tries and if you miss on thing you get zero points on them. this class is heavy on the work load.
Finn 3350 was much easier than 3200. She gives 2 take home exams and one major group assignment. There are weakly readings, with assignments. You also do 3 spreadsheets together in class. She is still a ruthless grader, but it is more doable. My class was 15 students so she was super causal and was more fun.
She is a great teacher! This class wasn't as high on workload as I thought it would be. HW is done in class; 1 quiz and 1 spreadsheet on almost every chapter. each will take anywhere from 30 min to 2 hrs to studydo (depends on your understanding). She says exactly what to study for quiztest. Tests wont really be that hard if you study the HW well
The class requires a lot of effort and class attendance. I loved the class. She is not as hard as everyone claims. As long as you pay attention and study you will do fine. Seeing her during office hours is a must. Tests are challenging. The final is tough. The class is information heavy and she goes pretty quickly over material.
I bet all her good reviews come from FIN or ACCT majors. Quizzes are full credit or 0. No credit for homework but points taken if not turned in. Required to memorize A LOT of formulas. This is a hard subject and she makes it harder. Her policies are RIDICULOUS! Life is not like that! Do not take her class unless you love finance. Glad to be done
Her class is not easy but she wants you to learn. The spreadsheets are not very clear but she is always willing to help. You have to get 100% on quizzes to get credit. No credit for homework but you will lose points from exams if it is not turned in. The last exam is the worst!!
Professor Morgan was nice enough, but didn't really help me understand the basics of finance. She was too concerned about rushing to finish a lecture. I didn't like that you had to get 100% on her assignments, and if you didn't, you got a zero. To me that wasn't fair! She claims that's how it is in the real world, but people make mistakes.
Fear not fellow students for I was in your place; reading these reviews and dreading life. But rest assured she's not THAT bad. Yes the "100% or no credit" gets irritating BUT it's not her doing. She has a lot to cover and will fly through lectures, but if you go to her office she is much more easy going and is very helpful. Great sense of humor.
Don't get me wrong, Morgan is kind of tough but I really appreciate how structured her class was. You know EXACTLY what you will be tested on and what to study. You have to get 100% on quizzes but she basically gives you the quiz problem to study and just changes the number. Don't let some students exaggerations scare you, I enjoyed the class.
Don't get behind on quizzes and assignments. I would recommend going to every class because she walks through everything. It was difficult material but manageable if you keep up with everything.
Tough Grader and she has very unrealistic expectations for you. Her class is hard and you need to plan your entire semester around her class. Don't miss class!
The class was enjoyable and I learned a lot of real life information. You will need to go to class. All homework is done in class, which is wonderful. There is a quiz on most chapters and it is all or nothing. You have two chances to get 100% or you get a zero, so study up.
She is difficult if you get behind so moral of the story... Don't. Alot of students don't like her but I found she is caring if you go talk to her. She is very clear on wants expected and tested. There are no suprises! Skip class and you wont pass. There are much needed formulas and calculator tutorials you cant miss. Buy her same calculator!
Very difficult class. Unfortunately there is no other professor to choose from. Must get 100% on quizzes and assignments or you get a 0. She is impatient and disrespectful with her students. Attendance is a must. Plan your semester around this class. Don't take other difficult classes at the same time. 3 tests. 9 Quizzes. Excel assignments.
I recommend you buy the HP17BII calc, or else you will be so behind & confused. Quizzes are all or nothing, but she tells you exactly what will be on each quiz & how to do it. You get 1 retry to get your quiz or Excel right. I enjoyed the class. But if you take it in the summer.. beware it's only half a semester & goes by fast. Always go to class.
Awful... Her assignments are all or nothing. She does give you 2 chances to take the quizzes, but you get no notes. It's a very difficult class because she makes you memorize 10-15 equations for the quizzes and tests. If you have time to study for 3 hours a week, you'll probably do ok. Don't take this class with a full school/work schedule.
Don't let what you've heard about her scare you. It's true you have to get 100% on the quizzes and spreadsheets, or you don't get any points, but she gives you two tries. If you don't pass the first time she'll help you and explain what you did wrong, go to her office for help. HW is all done in class! I never read the book, but don't miss class!
Awful ... Get the 100% or nothing is not what college students want, her teaching style is weird and she does not explain the materials very well.
Come to class serious and prepared and it will be a valuable experience. Her teaching style is very structured and informative, I couldn't imagine another professor ingraining this material the way Morgan does. She is a tough grader, all or nothing, but she shows you how to do each problem in class.
Professor Morgan knows the topic extremely well and is a nice lady. But she claims that you receive the grade you earn which is not true. If I missed one question on the quiz I did not earn a zero. I would rather receive the grade I earned rather than a second chance. Overly stressful and difficult to take this class while working 60 hours per week
Shes a phenomenal teacher if your willing to become a better student. Im really excited by how much Ive learned in her class. She hands you everything you need to be successful on the quizzes and the exams in class; JUST DONT MISS CLASS. Your better off practicing the problems again and again then doing the reading if you have to choose.
This class is manageable for a half block semester; however, you will have significantly more studying to do toward the end of the semester. Aside from that, its a very useful class for finance majors and non majors alike. Youll really appreciate the importance understanding cash flows and the time value of money.

First impressions of Professor Morgan tend to be bad. But over the course of the semester, if you give your honest 110% effort, do as she says, participate, study, ask questions, and adapt to her instructing methods, you'll pass the class. Moreover, you will realize she knows her material, has real-world experience in the field, and respect her for the great professor she is. I will take as many classes as I can from her. She wants her students to succeed. But she wants to make sure you earn the grade you deserve based on everything mentioned above.
I entered this class scared to death of this professor due to ratings on this site. However, she's not as bad as I thought she would be. My tips are 1. Don't miss a single class 2. Make the best of her office hours 3. Ask TONS of questions 4. Focus on the concepts, not just crunching numbers.
I went into this class so terrified because of previous students. It honestly isn't that bad though. If you don't attend class, you won't pass. Her quizzes are pass or fail but you get 2 tries. She really does want you to learn the information, not just torture you. I wouldn't take too many other classes while taking this course. STUDY STUDY STUDY!
This class was intense, especially for a first block summer class. So much content and not enough time. She is very knowledgeable about the material but can come off a bit condescending when you ask a question or fall behind. 2 exams and several quizzes that you have two chances to get 100% all or nothing. There are also excel assignments.
I put this class off for over a year because of these reviews. She gives you all the material to succeed and the ire she receives is not justified. Tips: Record her exam reviews and listen to it to clarify all exam material, attend every class, 2-3 hours of CONCENTRATED studying to pass each quiz which then preps you for the exam, dont get behind.
I was terrified going in, but she really gives you all the material you need to succeed. Go to class and you will get the material you need to pass the quizzes. Record her test reviews so you can go back and listen again.
This class would be wonderful if you are a finance major, but she expects way to much from you for this to be a required business class. 100% or 0 on quizzes, you get 2 tries though. I hope you don't plan on taking any other classes that require any amount of focus. she expects you to treat this class as if it's your only class. Hardest class ever!
This was an extremely fast-paced and challenging course. The tests were difficult and studying for them was a long process that basically never ended. I'm normally an A student, and this is going to be my first B. There are 3 exams and about 10-15 quizzes that all have to be taken in the testing center. There are some spreadsheets assignments, too.
Professor Morgan was very challenging. It is a class that requires a lot of time and effort. She does a very good job of telling you exactly how the quizzes and tests are layed out but you'll still need a lot of studying. She tests your knowledge in a way most other professors don't. You will have a weekly quiz that you get two tries on.
Literally could not take a worse course. If you don't get 100% on a quiz then she'll give you a 0 (nothing, nada, zilch, 0.0000000%). I don't know if this is old fashioned or something but it SUCKS and is really setting you up to fail. I haven't met a single person that likes the class and/or even tolerates it. It's trash. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
The only class that I have taken up to this point in my degree (Senior) where the class is truly set up for you to fail. Lectures are rushed and disorganized, and much of the information you'll never know if it is important or not. Quizzes are 100% or 0, she's the only one who teaches this class so it being awful isn't her problem... Good luck..
The class is very difficult and you will need to spend a lot of time studying. Highly recommend that you take this class solo or with easy classes. The expectations are clear but the content is hard. Ill admit I had to take this class twice. She is willing to help but if you dont understand what shes explaining she gets frustrated quickly.
I was nervous for this class because I had heard nothing but bad things about it. After taking this course, I do not feel like it was near as bad as everyone said. You have to work hard to get a good grade, but she gives you all the info you need to pass and do well. Her quizzes are hard because its all or nothing, but she tells you what is on it.
Unfortunately she is the only one who teaches this class and it is a required course if you are a business major. 100% or nothing on the quizzes, and you have to round correctly out to like the 4th or 6th decimal point depending on the problems. Gives no help with spreadsheet assignments, and when asked questions she treats you like you are dumb.
Professor Morgan is super knowledgeable about finance and is passionate about it. But she cares too much about the material and not enough about how her students are receiving the material. There is a real disconnect between her and the students.
Prof. Morgan requires 100% on all quizzes or you get no credit, and this is not an exaggeration. When COVID-19 shut down schools, it took roughly 2 weeks for her to get this class online but we were still required to complete the same amount of material and work in less time without on-campus lectures.
She is the worst teacher I have ever had!! If you miss a day of class you might as well just drop the class. Her Quizzes are 100% or 0% and her tests look nothing like the quizzes. If you don't spend hours studying before the test you won't pass. the first test the class avarage was around 60%
Night/day difference between this and her 3200 class. One of the easiest courses I've ever taken. Some quizzes had 20 questions in 15 minutes, which was rough. She added more time part way through the semester. The course format will likely change when more social restrictions are lifted, but I've heard that the class is manageable even in person.
This is a great class that is helpful for all majors, but taught in a very poor way. Professor Morgan is the only one who teaches it. Prepare to read and review a lot. Spreadsheet assignments that are supposed to be helpful to grasp concepts, but end up confusing you more than helping you.
I had a rough time in 3200 like everyone else, so I was a little nervous to take 3350 but it has been Great! Nothing like 3200, no formulas to memorize or equations to work out. It's a ton of real world problems and concepts that aren't hard to learn because you can see them in real life. Prof Morgan is much more relaxed and fun in this class.
It's unfortunate that she is the only professor that teaches the class. If it's a required class for all business majors, make it part of the Fundamentals group. Otherwise, drop it from all but Finance majors. Or add other professors to teach the class. The only easy grade is the homework, which you don't do yourself.
This class is extremely difficult. The only way to take this class is in the summer by itself. She goes so fast that you struggle to even just copy down the homeworks let alone understand them. Quizzes are all-or-nothing and tests are not curved. Expect to study for hours every night. Knowledgeable about the material but not great at teaching it.
Dr. Morgan tries... a little too hard. I took Fin3200 online bc I had heard how terrible it was. Basically, I ended up with 3-4 hours of lecture + 3-4 hours for quizzes & spreadsheets. It doesn't feel like anything we learn ends up on the tests. I realize this class is required for bus. majors; take fewer credit hours because this class is ALOT
Be prepared to work super hard in this class. You'll be on your own for most of the homework and quizzes. She only gives zeros or full credit for assignments. Won't help students unless really pushed to- will only copy and paste homework instructions when a clarifying question is asked. A lot of assignments aren't taught in class or in the textbook
She is a sweet women but horrible professor. Can't believe how difficult this course was. Rather than learning about applicable finance we were taught to memorize formulas. Spreadsheets suck, Homework sucks, everything about this course sucked. Get ready because you'll probably have to take this class from her. RIP
This class by far has been the most difficult class so far in college ( I also graduate next semester for context). However; this class might be difficult, professor Morgan is a great teacher. She is willing to go the extra mile when you cry out for help. If you know you're not great with numbers I would make sure to attend the zoom meetings 4 help
Nice professor and pretty responsive to questions. One of the most heavy and intensive courses I've taken. SO much info and about 5 chapters worth of material on tests & several formulas you have to memorize. Do the extra credit. The work was time consuming even though I had other classes too. Glad I got it over with but my grade hurt by the end
This has been the toughest professor Ive had at Weber state. No formula sheets on exams. Class requires 6+ hours weekly. You have to get 100% on quizzes or you have to retake them. Teacher is extremely picky on how you answer problems. Class average on all exams was 68%. The only saving grace was an unexpected curve on class grades.
Constantly says to not memorize formulas, but instead learn what they mean. There is no time to learn what the formulas mean, there's no time to even memorize formulas. Been on honor roll for last few years with straight As, except for this class.. think that says something.
Dropped after first exam. Exams are based off quizzes, but need to memorize formulas, cant bring in a formula sheet. Feel like just knowing how to use the formulas is good way to check for understanding, kinda crazy to expect students to memorize these formulas when we go through a chapter every other day.
I signed up for this class thinking it would be a Zoom class and come to find out that she does not give the lectures during the scheduled Zoom meeting and wants us to watch pre recored 2 hour lecture videos before or after the Zoom meeting. So it felt like she was not really teaching us.
I took FIN3200 accelerated in first block of 2021. After reading all the review's I was nervous to take this class from Prof. Morgan but I was pleasantly surprised. This class is difficult but not impossible. She gives you all the materials to succeed you just have to put in the effort in studying hard for her exams. I studied aprox. 5 hrs per exam
Terri Morgan has created an environment that is set up for students to fail. My issue isn't that the class is difficult, but that she seems to take pride in seeing large numbers of students fail.
After reading the reviews I was very nervous to take this course. I heard she was a hard grader and that you have to get 100% on everything. That is false. Terri is amazing! She gives you all the material you need to succeed. If you watch the quiz lectures and review them you will pass the exam easily! She replies fast and cares about her students
Professor Morgan is honestly such an amazing professor! This class is not easy, and requires a lot of time but she's willing to help if you just ASK! The exams are difficult, just put in the time to study and make sure you're getting high scores on the quizzes + homework. Professor Morgan really cares about her students and is such a kind person!
Professor Morgan is a great professor. While her classes are not easy, she is more than happy to help you if you just ask for it. If you put in the work, you will do just fine in her classes. Overall, she is a very caring professor that wants to see her students succeed.
I took this in the Summer so there was a lot of homework, however, she is an excellent teacher. She grades swiftly and offers helpful feedback. If you message her with any questions, she responds almost instantly. Her lecture videos are very thorough. Very difficult class, but if you put in the effort, you can get a good grade.
In-class participation is mandated and she grades all work done in-class as credit/no credit depending on if it's 100% correct. Assessments are weekly and are VERY wordy and VERY strictly timed. As a slower test taker, I constantly was failing tests because of her absurdly fast time limits. I wish every day I had dropped this class.
I was told by someone to not do a finance major at WSU because of the professors and I am glad I switched to accounting. I was very busy helping with taxes for my accounting internship and missing classes and being busy killed me. Short times to turn in work ex. open Tuesday night after class due Wednesday. This is my first time getting a C :(
I took the summer accelerated course and it was not even that bad. She gives you all of the resources and everything you need to do well on the quizzes and assessments. She also takes the time to give you detailed feedback on everything you missed on your scratch paper and homework and all.
By far the most difficult class I've taken but Terri was great. She prepares you well for the content on quizzes and exams. The timed assessments made me panic a lot more than I'd like to admit, but I understand why they're set up the way they are. Do not miss class, study, and try not to panic during assessments like I did!
This class (financial institutions) was much easier than finance 3200. Really the only 'hard' part is the quiz every week. If you want to do decent you'll have to read the chapter. Also, every class is a mini group homework but she will come in and help your group make corrections as needed. I dislike finance but if you enjoy it this class is great
Professor Morgan is very difficult to work with. The way she treats students is disrespectful, and does not foster a beneficial learning environment. Assignments have vauge criteria that she does not elaborate on and expects you to guess at. She does not know the material and refers to the textbook for everything. Unnecessary difficult class.
Terri is ridiculously harsh in her grading and does not treat her students with respect. Her timed assessments are sooo wordy and really difficult to complete with the given time. The summer class is extremely stressful because for some assignments you only have 1 day to complete them. Her class is doable but not because Terri is a good teacher
Do not take any classes from Terri Morgan. She has completely unrealistic expectations for her students like expecting them to commit 10+ hours a week to this ONE class. Having 12+ assignments a week. At most you'll have less then 24 hours to view, complete, and submit them. The class is inverted so you have to teach yourself finance with no help.
If you are good at math, or like math, this is a fun class. I really enjoyed it. Terri is awesome. You need to attend class. If you do, Terri walks you through everything. The material can be challenging sometimes, but Terri is there to help. This course requires a lot of your time, but if you can commit to that, you will do well.
Comparing to FIN 3200, this class is a piece of cake. You have to attend class because you get a group assignment each class that is completed during class. Then you get a research assignment and a quiz each week. No exams. If I would've allocated more time, it could've been an easy A.
Extremely tough grader. You must do it her way or it is wrong, even if you get the correct answer. The class setup is terrible—something due and assigned just about every day, especially on weekends. I would not take from her again, unfortunately did not have any other choice.
This professor is probably the worst I have ever had. She is extremely hard with grading. It is structured so old school. Homework is due constantly. Definitely would not even consider her as a professor. Do yourself a favor and find someone different. Needs a change or more professors to teach this subject. Lots to memorize, no mercy with grading.
The structure of the class is very strict, you better follow it to the dot because she allows no room for mistakes. Often, in her lectures, she assigns breakout rooms to look up definitions and then present them, which is not beneficial for anyone's learning. She also will post quizzes, assessments, and homework, then has them due the next day
I cannot stress this enough: TAKE THE SUMMER ACCELERATED COURSE. its a lot of work, but its inevitably a hard class. Its way easier to take it over the summer with a lighter course load with less classes to worry about than taking it in the midst of 4 other classes. (also terri > prof turner in case ur debating, trust. I had to drop turner's class)
By far the worst professor I have ever had. Her “teaching” style is awful. Good luck to anyone who takes her class.
Horrible feedback. Get the right answer using your calculator but don't show work? no credit. Lectures are horrible to sit through, teach yourself using the book and you'll be better off but she probably will take some points from you because you don't show your work the way she likes
Prof Morgan is very particular and I'd agree her expectations for the course are a bit unreasonable, but what can you do? If you actual listen, follow her instructions, and apply yourself there's no reason you shouldn't be able to pass the class. She's actually one of the kinder profs I've experienced at WSU. Don't let the reviews scare you too bad
I loved her class! It was clear & concise. She was a wonderful teacher. If you follow along, study, ask questions, be respectful it will be a great class. A lot of what she teaches is applicable to real world & can help you make good financial decisions.
This is easily the worst class structure I've ever seen. She will lock assignments, lectures, and has no respect to our own schedules. She will create an assignment but it have it due the very next day. I currently have a 3.96 GPA but I will be lucky if I even pass this class. From what I heard, take it in the summer. It's so hard to learn from her
You want a social life? Gone... Your schedule is now finance for the next 3 months. Terri was the absolute worst professor to ever take finance from and she is the only one that teaches it! Her tests were the hardest I have ever had to take and were nothing like what was suggested to study. No notes, scratch paper or study guide. She needs to go!
This is a required class in the Macc, so push through or don't. This class is organized just like her FIN3200 class, but with more work. Just like in the undergraduate class, you cannot work ahead. This class is so difficult that I know many fellow students went to the Mtax purely because of her. I know a dude who had to quit his job.
Terri is a good human.. Shouldn't teach. This was the hardest and worst class I have ever taken. The reviews aren't lying- no mercy on grading AT ALL, the exams are literally insane, and there is no good way to study unless you already know finance for some reason. I would say take it from someone else, but there is no one else. READ THE TEXTBOOK!
