Great teacher. Tests later in the semester are difficult, but plenty of homework to help boost your grade.

Rubbed some people the wrong way, but don't all drama teachers to some extent? Easy to misunderstand if your not level headed comming into the class. Objective. Getting the grade was easy, teaches Stanislavsky's method acting.

Who said teaching had to be so formal and "professional"?Her teaching style is actually quite comfortable and non-bureaucratic.Enjoyed this class.tests are easy and course work is minimal;lectures is where all the information could be found.

She may not be the most tactful prof. at SMC, but this is not math, it's theatre. She's talented and creative and yes, at times overly dramatic...it goes with the territory. And she is NOT the head of the department (From the earlier post)

This professor is having hard times as a single mother of a new born baby but she loves to teach. However, she's always on time, be ready and she knows the material very well. You should talk to her if you have problem with her/class. She is kind...

u either get her, or u don't. i love her -very honest, helpful, no b.s. if you can't deal with HER, what the f. are u going to do when u get cut at an audition? grow up! would u rather have someone lie and say u'r good when u'r not? terrin ROCKS!

Terrin is a great teacher, very straight forward and makes the subject interesting and easy to grasp.

Knows her stuff, but a wishy-washy lecturer. All over the board in class and hilariously superstitious when she ran out into the hall to jump backwards because someone said "MacBeth" in class. Definitely has pets. Suprised me when I got an A

She knows what she's talking about. She won't lie to you about your acting and knows her theater history material. She'll give you the grade you deserve. Just go to class and study.

terrin is a very helpful professor,brutally honest she'll give it to you straight.however she can be pretty harsh but i wouldn't want it any other way.

I loved her, she's very honest so if you're sensitive don't take her because she tells it like it is and I loved her for that.

By far my favorite prof. thus far. I learned more in two weeks of performing for, and watching her than I did in a whole year as a theatre major in Colorado. She gives great feedback, and is not going to sugarcoat her comments like most. Very highly recommended.

Anyone who says that Terrin is a bad teacher is probably just a lazy slacker who can't handle the truth. Terrin may be brutally honest, but that's how she pulls the best out of people. If you have a weak stomach and cant handle crticism, then SHOW BUSINESS IS NOT FOR YOU! Terrin Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She tells it like it is. I think she honestly wants everyone to get better and if some people can't take the critiques they should not be in an acting class.

To the person who dropped Terrin and took Janie to get an A, I say "you will never make progress because all Janie does is say that everything looks nice. You obviously only care about the grade." Terrin may be tough but you will see results with her. Only take her class if you are hard-working.

i was intimidated at first, but as i watched terrin critique the rest of the class, they were valid comments, definitely helpful to the students. to get better, you have to be open to constructive criticism. otherwise don't act. she's 'tough' but makes us laugh, she tells it like it is and gives practical advice to make her students better actors.

Terrin is one hell of a teacher, an inspiring actor, and an all around great person I've ever had the pleasure to meet. Take the class--the comments are all bull. See for yourself. Yeah, you'll be intimidated at first, but she'll grown on ya.

Fun class

Amazing teacher....she is soooo helpful involved and very dedicated to giving her students the best criticism and input!!! Definitely Recommend! She is one of the COOL TEACHERS at SMC!

Terrin is an amazing teacher for any class. I had her for my Theatre 5 class, Musical Theatre Workshop, and Musical Production. Not only is she hilarious, but is truly dedicated to making any class or production the best it can be. She is one of my favorite teachers here. Once you get on her goodside, you are set!

funny teacher..at first i thougth she was weird but then as i got to see her personality more it became more clearly that she just has a great sense of humor..doesn't act her age.. likes to engage with the class..take the class...you actually stay up in class with her funny gestures

TRUST ME ON THIS ONE...this is the easiest A you can get..all you have to do is do the FEW hws she asks and dont get on her bad side! you don't even need a book!! if you dont get an A...then get out of school now lol..HIGHLLLYYYYY RECOMMENDED!!! so cool and easy

she is very easy. all you have to do is show up, she remembers faces and knows who is there and is not. do your hw and responses, go to a couple plays and poof!! you got an A. she is also funny. i recommend her.

Doing a show with Terrin has been one of the most wonderful experiences of my life thus far. Yes she comes off kind of mean at first but she lets you explore your creativity and then helps you out alot. Kudos to her and her talent. Can't wait to take her classes this fall!LOVE HER SOOOO MUCH.

She's just honest- and I love it. If you have no spine, then you have no spine (she isn't mean in the least). I got an A: tests were easy, assignments were few & she gives lots of time for them. You have to go see 2 productions and do write-ups. I legitimately missed one because I simply forgot, and I told her straight-up- and she let me make it up.

The guy removed by email forgot to mention he talked back on simple stage directions, failed to follow them, dropped character in shows, and was all-around disliked by the cast causing unneeded drama. Terrin is a great teacher, if you don't have a spine for criticism, don't take her. Either you will love her or hate her. She doesn't put up with BS.

Prof. Adair-Lynch runs a pretty smooth class. The class is pretty scatterbrained, as I can't even really remember which assignments counted and which didn't. There were two definitive tests, though, and as long as you follow the outlines, you should do fine.

This was one of the funnest classes ever. Grades reflect ability to follow directions. If you do an excellent job following instructions to assignments, you'll get an excellent grade. There should be more encouragement to help actors become represented as professionals. In real world, there is too much discrimination and pain to actors going on.

Very nice! Terrin is hot enough for a chili pepper. Thanks for giving me an A. This class is fun!

In theater arts 5, I had Terrin for an early class and had a great time being taught the history of theatre during fall semester. I currently am taking her Acting 1 class and am learning so much at once this winter. I will be taking her future classes because she is awesome. I understand that some people don't have a spine, but if you do, take her.

She is energetic fun teacher. She is honest which has helped me allot! Her "Hot seat" kicks booty (can't say the "a" word),I think thats the best way to learn.

Class may get a little slow at times, but she is very entertaining to watch and listen to. Notes are very easy to take and she prepares you very well for the tests.

What an awesome teacher! Hilarious & extremely entertaining. Her lectures aren't lectures, they're fun & interesting explanations. Soo easy to do good on her tests, not only because the work is simple, but because she clearly goes over everything and makes the subject and the way she explains things so interesting. Great way to start the day!

I took her Theatre Arts 5 Theatre history class. If you come to class, you will pass. She teaches history in a very interesting way, and you can tell she LOVES it. She puts on relevant movies and reviews before every test. Fun and funny. Highly recommended.

She's great... she knows what she's talking about - has a great eye and ear for good acting and definitely has some gems to share. She's very honest so prepare yourself for some REAL critique. Do you work and you will definitely get back what you put into it.

a great class to take over winter. terrin's lectures were always fun and interesting. you wouldn't need a textbook for this class. if you read her outlines, pay attention in class, take good notes, and study, you'll definitely get the A. (i don't understand why people gave such harsh comments about her...) terrin is simply awesome!! :)

All I can say is, "Oh Terrin." This is a super easy class and she certainly makes it easy and exciting. She loves theater. She's fun and answers questions. She's hilarious too. It is definitely worth going to the class just to see what she will do each day. She has some pretty great stories. There are attendance points.

Awesome. She's hilarious, sarcastic, and a great teacher. I had so much fun taking her stage make up course. You do have to buy your own make up supplies and bring a ton of baby oil. She was fantastic.

Terrin is a wonderful teacher, she is full of funny things to say, shows you how she herself can be embarrassed and generally makes Acting a fun experience. If you want to take Acting I or II with someone who WANTS to help you, take Terrin.

I Learned alot in her class, but she always seem to be in a bad mood. I have had more pleasnat acting teachers.

You can tell her intentions are good...she wants students to pass. VERY SARCASTIC... at times RUDE. Never even bought a textbook... She's very flexible but will complain about it. Will put you on the spot at a second's notice. If you don't have a strong personality or you're sensitive.. she's not the professor for you.

Terrin is truly a great teacher. Acting is not as easy as you think and getting up there and trying to memorize your lines is nerve-wracking, especially for the novice...Terrin helps you through this process with humor, care and hints and tips. You also get credit for checking out an SMC production. Take the class - you'll have enormous fun!

She's actually quite nice and fun. She likes and writes "silly funny little comedy" so when she go over the line in the class just don't take it so seriously. She ofthen poke fun at herself too. She basically want every to pass and expect students to have resonable respect. Really easy class, a bit unorganized though.

Terrin is a really great professor! She's more than just a college professor; she's an ENTERTAINER! She's so funny and puts a lot of energy into her discussions. EASY A!

So funny! she always had some sarcastic comment to say about something but she never failed to be hilarious! Just go to class and have fun with it. no major assignments or anything like that, just attend the school shows, stay away and go to 90% of classes and you've earned the easiest 3 units of your life.

Terrin is OKAY. i thought her class was pointless pretty much. I did like her somewhat as person. She was nice but teaching is NOT her forte. I am pretty sure I got an A but will never take a class like her's again. She's unorganized and almost too easy. She showed us the midterm and final. What teacher does that? It's just not right.

I could say that she is an okay professor. Sometimes the professor acts in crazy ways but it was funny for me. I could say that her class was a really easy A and she was always nice with us.

Great professor and easy class. If you study the study guides for her testsyoucan get A's on all the test.(the study guides are VERY similar to the actual tests.Besides study guides and test there is few class work and homework. I had her summer session so we only had to watch one play and write a short essay on the play.easy class!

She is so FUNNY! Her feedbacks help a lot!! Take her Comedy Theater class, she has fun activities for you to perform. You have to go to the shows to get a good grade. Her bell will annoy you at times, but trust me...its helpful!

such a creative and talented actress, who wouldn't want to learn from her? she loves theatre so much and her passion is infectious. If you do the work and show up prepared she will love you. she can give "harsh" feedback but thats just her personality and its all in good fun. I've taken all her classes and done a show with her! Terrin is amazing and passionate. She is very easy and gives out practice test that are basically the test. I loved her class, even though I wasn't interested in Theatre history. Take her, you'll love her! She isn't strict on having the correct edition for the textbook but again, I took her for Fall 2011.

She's one of the best teachers I've had at community college. Class is really interesting most of the time, she is really sarcastic and awesome, and there is a lot of extra credit for participating. Some people had trouble, but I found that if you came to class every time, paid attention, and read the handouts, an A was pretty much guaranteed.

Absolutely love Terrin. I took her Acting I in the winter session and am now in her Musical Theatre Workshop. She is blunt and funny with her critiques, so come with thick skin but her honestly is the best. With her acting classes she has you perform and then she gives feedback so her classes are student motivated, which is great. LOVE HER!

I love Terrin! She's hilarious and energetic so you won't be dozing off in class. Play attendance is mandatory (as it is for any Th. Art class) and you only write a paper on one. Practice exams she gives are almost identical to the actual exams. Few assignments here and there but such an easy and fun class! Highly recommend.

Very outgoing and entertaining. she preps you well on material and provides practice exams. You LEARN while receiving an easy enough A(if you put your mind to it.) Take!

Easiest class ever!! She is so down to earth and hilarious. Just pure memorization, and the practice tests are identical to the real test. She always goes over it too, so you can ask a question if you're confused. She tries to make it as simple as possible. RECOMMEND!! EASY A

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE TERRIN!!! She is so amazing! Her class was fun and she made everything super simple to understand. She emails you outlines, and practice tests. She makes sure you're prepared before giving out the exam. If you at least read the outlines and show up the day you go over the exams, you will be fine.

Love, love LOVE Terrin. Easy class, never opened the book, fun movies/lectures, AND you learn a lot about theatre. Be prepared to spend about $50 on performance tickets though, they make up 30% of the grade. Highly recommend to get an arts req. done for IGETC!

Took Terrin for comedy class and loved her. She is a great instructor, but needs to give more feedback rather than just saying whether she liked or disliked a performance.

Terrin is awesome and funny. She does mostly powerpoint lectures and some movies. Minimal homework, and a few tests. She gives you practice tests and corrects them with you before the test. A bit of studying and you're good to go. She doesn't make you buy the book either, and never uses it.

Terrin is hilarious! I had her for Theater History and it was really easy. She makes it more enjoyable with her jokes as well. She prepares you for the test the class before and it's a piece of cake!

She is awesome!! Truly cares about students and is willing to work with you. She is very interesting, and sends you all the lectures before class, as well as a practice test, that she goes over in class!! I actually learned a lot with her teaching method and its stress free! will need $50 for tickets to play. Overall wonderful experience with her!

TAKE TERRIN. I wish she could teach me all subjects. You learn a lot while doing very reasonable assignments and laughing at her jokes. She knows her stuff and wants you to do well. Ask her about anything you are unsure of, and she's there to help.

Terrin's really amazing! Her make-up class is a lot of fun and easier than you think. The make-up you do in class seem complicated at first, but by the end of the class, you'll get the hang of it. She gives teacher challenges which sound a bit tough, but you get to work with partners for some of them. I would love to take her class again! :)

Love her! She's a wonderful teacher and director! Totally recommend working for or being in one of her productions! You'll have a lot of fun working with her and your cast and crew! Show up on time, sign in, and do your duties if you're a crew member but same goes with the actors! Feel free to help your stage managers as well! :D

Terrin is an amazing teacher and director. People who write a bad comments on this page don't know how to appreciate her humor. She is caring and understanding. She is more than just helpful. Furthermore, Terrin is an amazing director who knows her subject very well. She gives easy tasks and her lectures are very fun and entertaining.

Terrin is a great teacher and an excellent director. She's smart and original and definitely has hilarious ideas. She gets the work done, and you learn a tremendous amount. She knows how to help you select material and coaches your acting and performing so you are successful and gain confidence.

This is one of the easiest classes I have ever taken. She's a bit brash, but she knows what she's talking about and explains it very well. I really recommend this class if you want to fulfill the Art section of your IGETC. The grade consists of attending plays and writing reviews, creative projects, and tests. She's an easy grader also. Easy A!

This class and teacher was the best that I ever had. All assignments are easy and receives full points. Last but not least, the best thing that all students can participate in plays

This one a very chill class. Show up and make sure you know what is due and when. She emails you a detailed study guide before the tests and thats all you need to look at to get an A. Projects are all really easy. Some might find her attitude offensive but she's nice if you do what your suppose to do. Did all my work and got an easy A.

She's so nice and funny and REALLY cares about theater so she'll answer any of your questions. You don't really need the textbook and honestly with a little effort you can get an easy A. She's amazing and kind! Totally recommend it, especially if you want to fulfill a credit :)

I highly recommend Professor Terrin. She's so nice, funny and genuinely cares about her students. We have a lot of assignments but they are really easy and all the exams are multiple choice. You can tell that she loves theatre and the she is extremely passionate. Watching shows are compulsory, 3 shows (around 10$ each). TAKE HER CLASS!!!!

If you want direct, clear and specific feedback on your performance, Terrain is your girl. Terrain will get up and show you what you are doing that looks awkward and it is always spot on, and then show you how to do it naturally. She is quick, hilarious and comes up with really ingenious ideas for blocking. Loved taking MTW with her.

Creative and will give you honest feedback. Will not sugarcoat it, but will help you improve

Professor Terrin is great! She is easy to get along with & super funny. She usually lets you out early if you are done, and we watched a lot of movies in her class. She was the first Professor I had in college & gave me a great experience! All you need to do is follow instructions & you're sure to get an A!

I took this class because I needed to get an arts class out the way to transfer. I actually learned a lot during this class. Her lectures are very interesting too. She tells them as if she is telling a story and sometimes acts in class. Never studied for the tests and I got an A. You have to go to plays too which are kinds cool. Not a hard class.

Easy A class. You just need to follow all the instructions she gives. You will also learn a lot from the lecture if you are interested in the theater!

OMG!!! She's the #1 Theater Arts Professor at SMC!! She gives her students outstanding lectures on how to be Professional Actors! She's so sweet, nice, funny, & genuinely cares about her students. Her lectures and exams are as easy as pie! I recommend to all students who are interested in taking theater arts! TAKE HER CLASS PLEASE!!!!

Terrin is the best best best teacher. She is just a kind corky cool funny person. She is maternal and caring to every one, and makes friends with all of her students, especially if you are in a production and not just a big theatre class. If you have the opportunity to take her class, you won't regret it! Easy A and super super fun.

Took the class in Summer 2020 mid-pandemic. It was supposed to be in person. Terryn is a chill, clear, and relatable lecturer. VERY flexible. The material isn't that hard and it's fun to learn actually. She had us watch three free plays on YT that we needed to critique, probably the most work. They actually made me really appreciate theatre.

Great art history class. Lectures are very staring forward and taking notes is important.

Summer 6-week online class, majors/non-majors, 18 assignments including 3 exams, 3 play write ups. Not terribly hard but she micromanages; grades your notes to see if you're keeping up! As adults we can manage ourselves IMHO. Having to make my notes readable for another person was annoying and added stress. Good lecture videos, replies to emails.

Summer is 6-week intense. Easy even without a theatre background. Handouts, reminders, lecture & Q&A videos are provided. She might seem scattered but isn't. Due dates can be fluid and change, late work accepted with minimal penalty. Must watch lectures to pass and understand homework; plan time to watch plays; no book. Responds to emails fast.

Excellent lecturer, experienced, shares her personal experiences, and the most organized instructor I've ever had. The history of theater is really the history of our culture; if you actively participate you will be rewarded with a wealth of insight and gain a life-long appreciation for Theater. You may even be tempted to change your major.

Taken 3 classes with Ms. Adair Lynch, the chillest nicest easy going teacher ever! Easy A! She is super sweet, and always responds to emails. She grades really easy, gives easy classes and assignments. She is very sweet and you don't have to attend the zooms.

Prof is so chill and generous with grading. She wants you to succeed! I would give 5 stars but I'm not a theater fan so found it a little boring. Definitely recommend if you want GE credit with minimal effort. I took the 6-week version and, to the benefit of the lazy student, it felt very stripped down.

As long as you complete the assignments, you should pass. All of them were pretty easy and didn't take a long time to complete. She is also lenient on late work! The exams (midterm & final) were also pretty easy as long as you study the material she provides.

not a lot of homework in terms of quantity, but all the assignments do require a lot of time and effort (ex. watching hour-long videos and taking notes on them) there are 3 production viewings which i found frustrating because of how long it took lots of recorded lectures required to watch

I took Professor Adair-Lynch for Theater 2 class during the Winter semester. Her course is organized, and she provides all the information in the best way possible. I had a great time and learned so much about theater, which further sparked me to continue taking theater courses for fun! I enjoyed having her as my professor!

Amazing theater professor.

I love Terrin and she's a great professor but the workload of this class is hard to manage. If you have the time for it then take this class b/c it's educational but if you don't have the time to commit to the assignments don't take it. There's a lot of homework and long lectures and everything is worth a lot of points so its easy to fall behind.

Professor Lynch was very sweet and super nice, the class was fully online. The material was easy to understand and she is a very nice person and great teacher! There was one long paper on Peter Pan play I did but other than that the work is doable.

The professor is chill and generous with grading. While the workload can be heavy, unstuck AI and other study tools make it manageable. Definitely recommend for an easy GE credit.
