I took Professor Balkarans Accountimg 201 for 6weeks. It was challenging at first, but I learned a lot from his lectures! People like him is the reason why I choose to be an accountant! Professor B is a great professor. He made a hard course easier. The exams a open book and online, but make sure you understand and memorize homework questions. Participation points are important and easy to get! It just need you to ask/answer questions on discussion board as much as possible! Very easy to get!

Used the textbook but in addition learned more that wasn't included in the textbook. If you complete and study the homework and slides, it helps prepare for the midterm/final. I took 201 during the second summer session. It was a lot of work in a short amount of time. Thankfully professor B clearly laid out what was in store for the course. There's several types of QC professors I encountered so far: those with dull teaching skills but gives you easy A, those who's hilarious but cant teach, and those who's suck at teaching and grading. Professor Balkaran is a really cool professor. He uploads every homework in Blackboard, and you can review all these homework easily with blackboard before exams. I had 2 exams in total. Exams are related toCPA exam, so they are useful for accounting major students. I became a fan of him and made a drawing out of him, I recommend to take his class.

What I like from prof. B is that is not the typical professor that grades you base only what you score in the exams. He cares more that students come to class all the time, participates in class and blackboard, do all quizzes and Hw. If you do all that, you get a decent grade even if you did not score a high in the exams (class taken 201, 372, 311)

Professor Balkan is a well rounded professor he clearly knows his stuff. He's not big on exams but is more lean on participation and I recommend that you should show up to class so he knows who you are. In my personal opinion, the information was given to us in a manner that was seen more as a review than 'let me teach you how this is done'. I had to rely on the textbook/outside sources for most of the class. Keep in mind, I took this class in the summer.

I took Professor Balkaran ACCT 201 course for the summer (6 week). The overall grade includes 1 midterm, 1 final, 1 group project, participation, and quizzes online. A bit late on the rate, but I took his summer class accounting 201, and may I say he was was a gem. Good looking guy, smart and very inspirational. He knew what he was teaching. You get 2 pop quizzes, and 2 test and a group project. Easy going, if you participate and study you will be guaranteed an A.

Summer class was 7 weeks so was a lot to get done. Prof b makes the class fun by relating the subject matter to real life. He is CPA focus and tries hard to make students comfortable. He inject humor and his experience on the subject matter via stories. Cares for his students and push them to work hard to learn. Get set to learn!

Prof B is one of the greatest professor at QC. He not only teaches the course but also tells us about the real world. Especially motivates us to take the CPA exam. His exams are like the CPA and we took them on a computer to get the feel of the CPA exam. Attend all the classes and take great notes. Make sure to sit in the front of the class!

Terry Balkaran is one of the most inspirational people I've ever met. His intelligence and confidence can be intimidating, but nonetheless inspiring. He's humorous and caring and gives you many opportunities to pass his class. But this is not an easy course. 13 chapters, so I do NOT recommend taking in the summer. Would deff take him again though.

Great professor that knows how to keep students engaged and brings up real situations that help solidify the material. For the class your grade is based on several quizzes, inclass quizzes, an essay, midterm, final and blackboard discussion postings.

Advance accounting is not an easy subject but with Balakaran expert, attention and teaching makes the material accessible in a way I never thought possible at the beginning of the semester. Acct 311 is one of the hardest accounting course and on top of that, the class is 4 hours long. However, professor understands this and gives frequent breaks and gives real life examples, shares stories, and give valuable advise. Quizzes and particiaption are done on Blackboard so make sure you do them.

Amazing professor! I would encourage everyone to take him. There are tons of homework questions to study for the tax part of the CPA in his class. You'll have to get intimate with those questions yourself. His classes are more based around understanding the Fax forms as a professional. Take him if you get the chance.

Be prepared to participate in order to get a good grade. The grade is based on your participation and 2 exams. Even if you do poorly on the midterm/final, you will have enough time to recover as long as you actively participate in his class.

He's one of the best professors in acct 311. He gives a lot of homework (quizzes) and group project but it's totally doable. His midterm and finals are hard but he does not take too many points away from it. Very lenient on grading. My advice is to get his attention by showing you are trying in his class.

Although he comes late for all his classes, he does care about his students. He's lenient on grading which helps because most people did not so well in the midterms. Best advice, do all the hw (quizzes), participate in BB, and show you care about his class by asking questions.

All of all of his classes, (311, 372, 367), this is his most easiest and most passionate class of all. He seriously like taxation, and would encourage everyone to pursue taxation as a career/specialty. My advice is to do all quizzes, ask him about specific tax laws, and how to prepare yourself for the CPA exam.

Prof Terry cares a lot of his students future, he gives great advise on how to become successful people after school. He focus a lot on CPA questions. There are lots of online quizzes and he like students to get involve via discussion board. He is very reasonable with your grades, once he sees you are making effort you will be fine.

I have taken this professor for three Undergraduate courses (in person) and now a Graduate course and he is very solid. This is different because this course was online due to COVID, he usually doesn't do online. Professor's lecture is clear and very helpful so it's not wise to miss the class lectures. There are weekly homework assignments that help for the midterm and final. Most of the course rules and codifications and is very helpful for CPA exam preparation. Professor explained a very hard subject in an understandable way.

I having this professor numerous of times for the classes I signed up for. He's always very generous and courteous. There's a lot to do in his class, but it's better than nothing when you can easily pass and not put a lot of pressure on yourself when it comes to the midterm and the final, that he curves and that it is an online exam for both.

I did more work in these two classes than the entirety of the accounting major. Class is hybrid so on campus and off campus days align for both. Professor B is a great professor who wants to see his students succeed and offers a lot of practical career and life advice. I would definitely recommend taking him for at least 372 if not both.

Honestly, one of the best professors i have taken in the entirety of college. His teaching style is what'd you get from an expensive private college. Although the course says in-person, switches it to hybrid after the first class. You'll only go in few times throughout the whole semester. lots of quizzes but their taken online, exams online as well

Lots of weekly MCQ quizzes that you have multiple attempts on and can see what you got wrong. Hard exams but the prof gives you a lot of graded work to cushion your grade. Quite funny too.

The Prof. cares about his students. His in-class lectures are meaningful and he provides video lectures to reinforce his teachings. All the questions on the exams are from his lectures, textbook, and quizzes. You should do great in his class if you follow the syllabus and meet his deadlines. It's easy to fall behind, so do the work when it is due.

Prof Terry wants his students to succeed. He brings a lot of real-world knowledge to the class. Mostly online classes or videos you can watch and learn at your own pace. Quizzes for each chapter with multiple attempts. One group project, plus an online midterm and final. Exams are challenging but he curves. Overall, a very chill and fair professor.

Amazing lectures, lots of assignments but also a lot of time to get them done. Try to network because it makes the class way easier.
