Really great teacher! Funny,smart,& allows students to give their opinions. Every class was super interesting & mentally stimulating. I looked foward to going to class even though it ended at 7:30pm.If you take this class with him, you won't regret it!

prof cole is the best. he's very clear and straight foward in class. plus its so hard not too fall asleep in his class haha....he's hilarious..and his requirements aren't bad at all. I had a great time in his class.

Prof. Cole told us at the beginning of the African American Literature class that he was going to make us a "little bit blacker" . He did. We came out learning not only about African American writers but culture and history as well. His comments in class and on essays made the exceptional.

In the Bible as Literature class we called him B.J. for Black Jesus because of his dreadlocks and his manner. He taught not only the historical roots of the Bible, Christianity, Judaism and Islam, but also brought in readings from Buddhism, Hinduism, even Wicca for us to discuss. He's cute, too.

I have taken just about every class that prof. cole has taught at lagcc. He is an excellent/inspirational professor, who stimulates his student's minds and makes them interested in just about every topic he discusses. He also sparks student's curiosity to go out and research history, writers and books.

he is a little unorthodox in his methods, but, boy do you learn and retain what he teaches in his classes. Brilliant teacher, must take.

This guy rocks and rolls, connecting constantly between issues as diverse as slave narratives and police actions against blacks in New York City. He makes all the literature come alive by relating it to events past and present. What other African American course do you learn about Dante's Inferno in?

The brightest Professor in LaGuardia in my opinion. Wonderful Teacher you learn alot in his class.

The prof. made this class interesting and fun. I really enjoy the class. He's not a hard prof., and he only gives you three eassays to do, but he's a hard grader. You better make sure there's no grammatical errors on your paper, because he deducts points for all the errors. Other than that I would recommend taking his class.

Terry is one the best English professors that I ever meet. In my opinion, he is one the best professors that LaGuardia currently employees. He is one of the few professors that actually teaches a course. If you are a student at LAGCC you know what I am taking about. If you want to learn something new take this or any of his other courses.

Very cool Prof. personable and easy to talk to. He is not a hard grader and is very knowledgeable. His work load is not heavy either. My only small critique would be that he talked to much about other religions that did not pertain to the Bible. It was more like comparative Religion class at points. But you will learn a lot from this class.

Prof. Cole is a very good professor. He teaches well and he's very interesting and will keep you awake. He's not a hard grader at all and if you do what you have to do, you shouldn't have a problem. I definately would recommend him for an English course.

I had this professor for my Bible as Literature class. The class itself was extremely interesting. However, this Professor made it even more interesting and I would love the small debates in the class. He brought a lot of interesting conceptualizations to light about different religions. This Prof. is smart & has a great voice. He draws you in!

Little to say, Terry is the most awesome professor that you can take at LGCC. He is wit and funny, and very laid back. Any class you take with him is going to have the same qualities. If you're looking for an interesting class and discussions I definitely recommend him.

Terry Cole is a masterpiece of a man. This is a professors who is actually worth your money and time. Although he comes in and half an hour or more late. You actually don?t care once he beings his lesson. There?s never a dull moment in the class. I believe he knows just about everything and you would feel compelled to ask him everything.

Professor Cole is Awesome. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK! If you have a laptop Just google the story titles and read them in class. Also, know this now. He is never, and I mean NEVER on time. EVER. But if you do the work you will get a good grade. He makes class interesting. He is very funny, charismatic and opinionated.

Great professor, he's a really passionate person who makes you take interest in the subject he's teaching. Saturday morning classes had never been better than with Cole.

Take every class you can with him. He is a marvelous character. Unorthodox style of teaching that keeps you coming back for more. He's really good at what he does. He doesn't make it feel like you are being forced to take the course. You'll have a good time in class. Funny and smart. Praise yourself, you just got the best English professor in CUNY.

The BEST Professor. Hilarious and incredibly intelligent. A true teacher.

By far the best! Funny, sarcastic, promotes heated discussions that boggle your mind, always late to class (15-20 mins but TRUST me he makes up for it), only 2 two-paged papers, doesn't give anyone a D. No books for the course cause he covers a lot of greek and roman tragedies so he gives you copies of readings.

Great Professor, You will need the books required for this class. Terry has a great sense of humor, and makes class interesting. I recommend him to anyone, he is GREAT!

Just finished the semester with him and got an A in children's literature. This is really the BEST professor in all of LaGuardia. No one can top him I guarantee it. Best of the best I ever had in LaGuardia. He just make his teaching interesting, funny, and connected it to real world experience. I will strongly recommend him for any English classes. Up top of that, he read most of his stories of his head so you can tell that he knows what he is teaching.

He is no longer just an "Easy A". Starting from Spring 2014, he has become tougher, meaning he is giving out all 3 essays and you actually have to know what you're talking about on the essay. However, his classes are still easy and fun !

Professor Terry Cole is hilarious! His lectures are always entertaining. I wish he taught in the morning but he only teaches in the evening. He is not one of those strict professor who make your life hell, he is very helpful! Definitely recommend him!

Professor Cole's style of teaching is like no others. He doesn't sweat the small stuff, and you will benefit from every lecture. I actually looked forward to each class, you won't be disappointed! He's an old school laid back type of professor, but don't get it twisted you better do the essays and watch your grammar. You will enjoy every class!

Honestly, my favorite professor in this school. He teaches a variety of English courses. And no matter the subject, he knows his stuff. He makes class interesting and fun, and you walk away from his class actually learning something. He doesn't worry about the small stuff, and is helpful whenever you ask. You won't regret taking his classes.

He made literature relatable and very entertaining. He will grade papers with a very careful eye, but I appreciate that because of the challenge.

I took British literature with him and he's AMAZING. If you ever have to miss class just shoot him an email explaining why and get the missing work he's very understanding. His lectures are very interesting and he's hilarious. I've never had a boring class with him. I would highly recommend taking a class with him you won't regret it :-).

Give 3 exams, they're based on the material given. He comes to class late, but he's a relaxed professor. No text book involved. you don't need a notebook unless you want to bring it just in case, you can write the little bit of notes on the poems he gives you. He has many jokes some come prepared and he's honest

Great professor, very inspirational - I started liking poetry thanks to him (reading only!). He gives so much information about writers, American history and conveys one toward the "right" literature. Read his texts carefully, incorporate the notes you took in the class, be careful with grammar, think beyond thesis essay and it will be an easy "A".

Prof Cole is truly a gem. One of the best, if not the best professor at lagcc. Poetry class was fun because of his teaching. He tends to be late, which is fine. He doesn't gives tons of hw and gives one take home exam and a take home final exam which is a piece of cake. If you have the chance take his classes, you won't regret it!

It's been 4 years since I've taken a course with Terry and till this day I still talk about him. He is THEE best hands down prof at LAGCC. Take this professor!!! SERIOUSLY! You will not regret it. Even though I did not want to take a late night class, it was SO worth it. He is hilarious, very lenient when an issue pops up. We only had to do 2 exams in this class which are essays and that's all. He gives you like 15 options on what you want to do for the exam. Best guy ever, for real.

Hes sweet and funny, gave no homework other than the take home midterm and final, and I learned so much more from his lectures than I would have from a class that constantly assigned homework. I will be taking him again in the Spring so I highly recommend anyone take his class if you can, youll learn a lot.

Professor Cole is a very realistic teacher. He gives examples of real life and on historical facts. He is very smart. He keeps the class engaged with his humor. I took professor Terry Cole 10 years ago at laguardia. Even to this day, I still remember him. He gives very powerful presentations and speeches. He is very inspiring and has so many stories. He is very wise. Take it from me, who still thinks about this guy 10 years later, he is the best. Prob the BEST (and I'm not exaggerating) prof I've ever had.

Kind of a late rate but Terry Cole is great. If you havent heard of him before through LaGuardia, I highly recommend him. Took him for British Literature and just had to take him again for The Bible As Literature. Both classes were well taught and he gives very minimal work. You literally should not be failing this class as long as you do the worK

I've taken a virtual class with him and truly enjoyed it. Considering what we're going through right now in the country- pandemic and racial injustice. The class was inspiring/empowering. Professor Cole is down to earth and knowledgeable. He is very compassionate and he cares about his students. He responds to emails quickly. There is a a lot of reading but, he interprets it for you. DO NOT copy any literature or poems, he has READ everything. His library is massive. Communicate with him and he will guide you. He is GREAT!

Hes a really funny guy, I hate any type of English, hate writing or reading..... however in his class I dont mind reading what he writes, his work is easy and understandable, he also leaves a lot of jokes in his writing.... barley gives any homework.

Very funny, I definitely would have received an A if I handed in 1 assignment but It's fine. Overall a great experience.

All students and faculty in the English Dept. know this guy is a legend. Crazy fun class that also generates meaningful discussions. He gives few assignments and grades leniently, so def. an easy A. That said, you get out what you put in because Terry has a lot to teach about literature and life in general.
