Only complaint: does NOT control class. Lets one girl talk like it's her personal individual tutoring session. Very bad on his part to not stop her. Wastes lots time w/ her about other classes. Starts late because he talks to her about non-math. Lets her sidetrack his lectures. No time left for us.

Terry Green is quite simply the only teacher worth taking in the math department as far as the Algebra courses are concerned. Unlike most of the other math professors, Green is willing to use creative methods, extra credit, and various opportunities to help students succeed. You must take Green! OK

Very helpful teacher, very funny. Makes subject matter easy to understand and provides sufficient notes that resemble material on test. Very straight forward, as long as you keep up with homework in this class you will succeed. There is no reason (unless your lazy)that you shouldn't get an A.

Had Mr.G for Math 31&20. Before him I had failed Math 31 twice,but he really helped me to pass tis class with a lot to cover with a B in Math 31 and A in Math 20. He is one of the best and most helpful teachers ever. Very good if you're not a math genius.

I've taken a lot of SMC classes and Mr. Green stands out as one of my favorites. He's warm, very human, and has a great teaching style. The things that you really will need to know will stick with you because his teaching is effective. He likes to share a good joke. He doesn't play "favorites".

I have taken the 4-best math teachers at smc(Chitgar,Quevedo,Jimenez,and Green), and by far Green was the best! He's super organized and clear when lecturing. He works extra-extra to help his students, creates a friendly environment, and provides students with lots of handouts to practice and learn better. He's the best (second choice Quevedo).

Prof Green is an absolute gem and I wish he taught at least 1 Statistics or college level math class. There is ALOT of homework to get through and the tests take time but he really does care about his students, knows how hard math is for some of us and wants us to not only pass but learn, understand the material and not be math adverse.

He is a good teacher on the board with good examples. However he is an unreasonable grader and will count a test question wrong if the work was not shown exactly and clearly. He has no mercy for students and is shameless. You must give up your social life to do all the homework. He seems nice, but remember it's his way or the highway!

I had failed algebra before I was lucky enough to get into Mr. Greens class. At the end of Mr. Green's class I actually tied for the highest score in the class. I was shocked and amazed and so thankful to have had such a caring, patient, fun and skilled teacher. He donated unscheduled time to our class to make sure we understood. He is Fabulous!

He's organized, clear, concise, respectful, and fun. A lot of work, but you learn a lot. Best Math teacher I've ever had.

Just a side note: Sometimes he has study groups in the Math Lab. Most helpful teacher I ever met. I had actually decided to drop my Math class with him, but he motivated me to continue and I ended up getting an A in his course. Now I've finished Multivarible Calculus and I'm ready to transfer. Mr. Green is very fair and helpful but not an easy professor at all... He gives tons of homework and expects a lot of his students. However, if you do all the homework, go to class, study the practice tests and not be lazy, you should be fine… If you have to take math 20 I would definitely recommend prof. Green!

VERY CLEAR. He tells you exactly what TYPE of problems will be on the test. You will get an A or B if you study the material he gives you. Attend his study sessions, they are very helpful. He really wants every one to pass and gives a lot of extra credit!

Do you want to know the Honest Truth? Mr. Green is THE BEST algebra teacher at SMC. His class is virtually full before enrollment begins. My advise is to take him for 31 and 20 if you can get in. Very helpfull, and offers many handouts. The only way you could be more prepared for the test is if he gave it to you ahead of time!

Mr Green is a nice guy and he is funny, but he gives a lot of problems on the exams. He takes a lot of points in exams for making one simple mistake. He made me hate Math even more because of this. Some teachers forget that students have other responsibilities and they tend to give a lot of homework. I felt overwhelmed in this class.

easiest math 20 teacher at SMC. A great learning experience also... exams are straight from the practice exams and reviews. Problems on the test are not at all more challenging than the homework or the study guides. just do the homewrk and get the A. lectures are amazing as well- extremely clear and helpful.

I am not a Math person, but I learned to appreciate the subject more in Prof. Green's class. The class is easy if you take notes, come to class, do your hw, and study for the tests. He explains the material well and relates it to everyday life.

AMAZING TEACHER! You have to study hard to get an A, but he prepares you incredibly well for the tests. His practice exams are almost identical to the exams. I am in Pre-Calculus right now and I am averaging the highest grade in the class-- 98% only because of GREEEN!!! Take Ramsey for Pre-Calc though--he's amazing too! you have to work hard though

He is amazing! I wouldnt recommend taking him in the winter or summer if you are not amazing at math because due to time he has to move quick(i.e 1 test a week and lots of hw) I ended up dropping it but will definitely take him again. He is very funny and makes math very enjoyable. He is not an easy teacher just makes understanding material easy!

Tests are multiple choice,& you have to show your work in blue book. You can retake any of ur tets. He doesn't give partial credit.Late homework is accepted,he gives LOTS of extra credit, and gives study guides that have very similar questions 2 wats on tests. However, He never replies to emails, and takes a long time to grade tests.

What a guy! The best experience with math I have ever had. He uses many stories and tools to explain math in a way that is easy to understand. Gives lots of study guides and will answer any question you have as if it is the best question he has ever gotten. It is still math though, you need to go to class study and do all the homework. Mr. Terry Green is the best professor one can have to re-learn or learn Algebra 2. He uses his manners to solve problems and explains easy and hard ways to find a solution to a problem. He also gives jokes at the end of class that leaves you happy at the end of the day after an hour of math.

Mr. Green is the BEST teacher at smc. He makes everyhting so clear and so many examples that if you dont get it your really not trying at all. He lets you retake test nomatter what grade you got and allows test corrections. This man is my hero and all around sweetheart

I'm bad at math; his tests were hard 4 me. He will be tricky & their mostly scantron. Make sure 2 prep 4 make up tests!! Always happy & never gives up on u. tons of e.c. & show him u care!

Green is a bit of a dork but thats what makes his class fun. If you hate math because its boring and hard take his class. He will turn formulas into little stories or give them odd names so you can remember them. Come test time you will find yourself smiling because you actually remember the formulas because you're probably reciting those stories.

Spring 2011 and Fall 2011 first I took Math 31 with him. I passed it the first time. Than I took Math 20 with him passed the first time. The work can be hard for some. But he is the best math teacher in SMC. If you don't push yourself than you have no one to blame but yourself. This class does require a lot of time and effort. DO your HW!

There is just not enough space here to mention how WONDERFUL this professor is, he is 1,000x better than my other Math 31 professor that I had this past spring! Really nice, funny, and you can tell that he cares a lot about your success, show him that you're willing to work hard and he'll treat you the same way, overall, MAGNIFICENT!

Even though you need full time commitment for this course, I guaranteed you'll stop hating math because Green will help you love math by any means necessary. Before class is over, he brings "joke of the day" so that you'll be very happy afterclass.

I'm awful in math but took him for both 31 & 20 and got 'A's! 1.DO the homework! This was my 2nd time taking Math31, although my 1st with Professor Green. He is hands down the nicest teacher I've ever had in my entire life. He wants everyone in his class to succeed. Great teaching methods, plenty of extra credit, reviews for every test, and lets you retake. It is a 5 unit class, but I highly recommend taking it with Prof. Green

I just want to echo what everyone else here has said about Green. If you need to take math 31 and/or math 20 at SMC, take him! You won't regret it! You will have to work, but he makes math as easy to understand as possible. He is also so personable, he wants you to get the best grade possible, even if math is not your best subject.

I had Prof. Green this past winter semester for Math 20, and loved him. He is a great teacher, clear and understanding. But there is a lot of work that you have to do for the reduced semesters, it seems like the math dept. would be better if he ran it. Great teacher.

Mr. Green in a great teacher! The homework is there to help refresh the mind in the work we have been doing. He is very clear and breaks it down to the main point of the math problems. He is right on the money when it comes to math. I took him for spring 11' and now I sit in my new class wishing he was my teacher because my math teacher sucks!

Took this class in the summer. Do your homework, study for exams, complete extra credit work, and go to office hrs. Professor Green is an awesome teacher, he truly enjoys what he does and cares about his students. Terry Green is the best professor I've had at SMC hands down. Math has always been a dreaded subject for me and he actually made it extremely tolerable, which I thought was completely impossible. He offers help constantly and is extremely dedicated to the well being of his students. The world would be a brighter place with more Terry Green's in it.

Prof. Green is very caring teacher with great humor and personality. His lectures are easy and sometimes funny but when it comes to the test, it becomes serious. He gave us many chances to earn extra credit and retake the exams. The one thing I hated was some students seemed like taking an advantage on Prof. Green cuz he is too generous.

SMC is lucky to have a great teacher like him. He loves to teach and it shows. He gives lots of extra credit and let's you correct the tests. A lot of hw but it's expected in a 6-week class. He gives credit for notes too so be in class everyday. There's no reason not to get an A. He is clear about what's on test too so you CANT fail.

Not sure if this is the same Teacher/Professor Terry Green that also taught at Samohi in the 70's but I had him at Samohi for a Summer School Algebra math class. He was just an awesome teacher/professor. He made math superbly easy to comprehend. I have fond memory of Teacher Green. Best regards!
