He is very passionate of sociology topics. He makes the class very interesting when it could be extremely boring. I highly recommend him for any sociology class.

if your looking for a teacher who is easy and still can get alot of knowledge from, he is your teacher. this guy makes everyone participate so the class is always involoved. he never has a boring lectures because he speaks to his students like friends rather than students.

THIS IS THE EASIEST CLASS EVER!!!!. i took soc 120. damn all you do is one presentation to the class for the whole unit. No tests no anythign. you are supposed to read but he didnt test anybody.

I don't even go to cod ne more and I would have to say that Mr. Hogan is the best teacher ive ever had. I took 2 classes w/ him and they were both completely organized differently. They were easy but i still learned alot. It is required that u talk in his classes and attend and if you do that, you in. To be honest, I am not one who goes to class much, but I went to his classes. If i was still at cod I would take another class with him and I still want to. many of my friends have taken him too and love him2

One of the best professors I have ever had, he is a good and honorable man. An excellent teacher who knows how to get the lessons across and have students start to think out of the box. I highly recommend him to anyone interested in sociology or political science. He will help anyone who needs it, truely an amazing individual.

He is one of the best at COD. Sorry you had your bad experience so you say, however, you must not have partcipated, or done your work in his course. This is all he ask of his students. He is open minded and fair to all. I have had him for most of my sociology courses.

Sex, Marriage & family is a great class! His classes are always so fun. It is a discussion based class with about half of your grade from participation and attendance, so go to class but it is so fun and you get out early. He is a great professor and I would take any of his classes. He is such a nice guy and just wants to have others blearn more.

Professor Hogan has been one of the best teachers I have ever had. His race and ethnic relations class is very interesting. The round table discussions each class can get pretty intense. You really get a chance to share your true feelings in this class. You learn about topics through views and opinions that you haven't learned about before.

He is a wonderful teacher, whom is not only great to look at, but so dedicated to his students, and all you have to do is show up to all classes to get a B. He's so fun you will always want to be on time. though he is a little bragadose... full of himself.

Honestly, I'm halfway through his sex/marriage/family class and just signed up to take his social problems class. He is a wonderful professor. Really grinds the information into your head and forces you to think outside the box. He doesn't ask for much, good attendance and participation. TAKE HIM!!! I wouldn't miss the chance.

Dr. Hogan is awesome! I had him for Sex, Marriage & Family... really knows what he's talking about. Spends time talking about interesting subjects and discussion or taking notes from a powerpoint. Tests are take home and you get a week, very easy. Takes attendence at the beginning of class... and we get out at least 10 minutes early every day.

Dr. Hogan is da bomb. He is a very good teacher. Hes not easy nor will he let you just do nothing and get an A. But we had a lot of classroom discussions, which was great and helpful (my way to learn). We had 3 takehome essays which is a lot about what we talk abotu and applying it. Im taking again as much as possible, he knows his stuff

I took 3 classes with him and he has been a great influence in my academic career, he is still a great help to me in my graduate studies. I took his classes almost 3 years ago and would reccomend him to anyone.

This class was great! I took it over the summer and it was well worth it. I learned a lot from the course and it's been my favorite sociology course so far. You need to read the chapters assigned and have an interesting fact to discuss each class. Attendance is manditory. There are no test just a few papers. If you work hard you'll get a good grade

Hogan made the class very interesting with his stories and methods of teaching. Grade is based on papers, but all answers to the questions are in the book or his powerpoints presentations. Atttendance is required to succeed. Highly recommended if you want to throughly understand the subject of sex, marriage,and relationships.

This class is fantastic. He relates topics from the book to actual events and breaks it down and you actually get a mind full and what he's talking about. The class discussion are the best because you get more views from other people. Great Class, serious topics and as long as u do the work, attend, and participate you will be fine.

This teacher is amazing! He has lots of in class discussions and he's easy.But you MUST read the chapters and MUST attend class...do a decent job on Ur tests...(all take home essays)!!! and Ur going to get at least a C to B... Anyone who says otherwise must not have tried or didnt come to class??

This class was SO fun!! About 40% of the grade is based on class discussion, so show up and talk. There are 4 or 5 papers, which aren't too bad. Read the book! Pop quiz if you don't!!

dr. hogan is probably one of the most lively teachers i've ever had. he really goes deep into the subjects but not so much so that you get lost in them. although he is incredibly intelligent, he still manages to keep it all in lamence terms. his essays are very easy and he even gives you extra credit! HONESTLY...take him if you want to pass!

Mr. Hogan is a good teacher and he breaks the material down so that you can understand. Participation in class is mandatory. You need to read and come prepared to discuss the chapter. If you participate and do your work and come to class you will get a good grade but you have to work for it.

Dr. Hogan is GREAT! I have taken 2 of his classes and he really knows his stuff. Great class discussions. He gives great notes and as long as you follow his guidelines you will have no problem getting an A. He is the best one of the best teachers I have ever had!

Attendance is the most important part of your grade. I really enjoyed our discussions and watching videos related to the topics we were reading about. He definitely relates to young students well. He is willing to work with you for a fair final grade. Take him!!

HE IS AWESOME. Mr. Hogan is the best teacher I've had at cod. I took him for 2220 as you see and many people may think im exaggerating with my ratings. I most definitely am not. He really looks to engage his students into learning and he can relate to just about anyone. I recommend taking him for whatever you can!

This is the only class that I?ve taken that I haven't been tempted to take a nap. He is kind, knowledgeable, and understanding. The tests are off the notes but you must read the material. I spoke to a few other people in the class and they said the same thing. Take him and see for yourself.

Professor Hogan was a very good teacher. It was clear and if you didn't understand just ask right then. He would always remind us that if we needed him to let him know. There were in class quizzes very easy and really no major final exam. He also offers extra credit. I would refer anyone to him. If I may add, he has a very nice dress code.

One of the best teachers I've had since my first grade teacher. Dr. Hogan cares and listens to the students thoughts and ideas rather than rewording the textbook required. He does a lot more than teach, he allowed me to explore and understand why certain things are the way they are in society.

I love Professor Hogan! Honestly, a great man who has a great sense of humor and really gets to the criteria. He does require reading but he just wants to have a good discussion about it. If you or the class doesn't read, he will do surprise quizzes and he will count them. Very understanding and would definitely recommend him.

Took this guy for intro to soc and honestly one of the best profs i've had. he is an overall great guy. if you want to do well in class you MUST show up! attendance is mandatory. and do the readings, there will be lots of discussions. if you show up and participate you will do great. definitely take him :)

He says if you skip one class you won't pass the class. I skipped four or five times and I got an A. But, you have to do really well on the final presentation. He does not post PowerPoint on blackboard, however, he makes it clear enough so that he doesn't need to post it. Overall an excellent teacher. I loved going to his class.

If you skip more than 3 classes you won't get the A most want. The study guides are word for word the quizzes he just only chooses 10 questions from the study guide so know it. I failed one quiz but was able to get an ending A by getting extra credit and doing well on the other two quizzes. Great and funny! He's the Kevin Hart of teaching

he is a really great, its impossible to fail his class he gives you everything like a study guide which are the exact questions on the tesst, hes funny smart and you can not miss a day cause of how good he is.

Tests are memorizing 20 vocab words off Quizlet (and only three of). Final project sounds like a big deal, but he doesn't even use it in final grade. As he asks us the grade we got on the tests at the end then writes down that grade. Don't need the textbook at all if you use Quizlet. Smart and funny teacher, definitely recommend for easy and fun A.

Dr. Hogan is an amazing person. He does so much and it's clear he cares about his students. His class is not difficult at all. Dr. Hogan is a great guy. He makes class fun. The class is fairly easy BUT his grading is VERY unfair. There are 6 assignments for the whole semester and they are each on a 20 point scale (for example: a B would be a 15/20 and a F is 0/20). Due to the minimal amount of work he gives, your only choice is to get an A on every assignment to pass.

Terry Hogan is an amazing professor. I have taken two of his courses and passed with flying colors in them. He is extremely nice and respectful and we discuss important matter and I was ALWAYS interested in what he had to say. Book isn't needed, all test answers can be found online and he gives answers to the first 2 exams, the third exam you're on your own but it's 20 questions multiple choice. Highly recommend him for an easy A!

Such a good teacher, loves to talk to his students and get to know them. The class was very straight forward. Read and take notes and you pass. Very funny and caring teacher, if I could I would take him for every class

I've taken this professor twice because he is awesome. The class is based on lectures and all you have to do is take notes. The notes match with the three tests he gives, and the questions come from your notes. Easy class if you show up. Few extra credit opportunities. As long as you show up and try, you will do fine.

The class is out of 100 points. It's worth A LOT to be there since the total is little points, 3 absences are free, then 5% off each time, if you miss often don't take it you'll fail. There's 3 test, 20 points each, easy enough to do good if you study tbh, no homework to turn in just to read, we talk and share stories daily so you got to be openn.

I just finish Dr. Hogan 7:00 a.m. class and it was wonderful. His instructions and expectations are very clear, he repeats over and over again throughout the entire semester what is expected of us as students. Yes, he has a five min. grace period, but he still let's you in after the 5 min. One of the most caring professor I know. Good semester!

Professor Hogan is an awesome teacher. SOC1100 consists of 3 tests, two of which he gives you study guides with answers for, and the last one he gives you a study guide and you have to find the answers. Also the final is a group project. Hogan makes this class easy but YOU HAVE TO SHOW UP!!!! ATTENDANCE IS WORTH 20 points out of 100.

Professor Hogan was one of my favorite instructors at COD. He really wants to get to know his students and make sure you guys are enjoying class while youre there. If you show up, do the work, You should enjoy this course. One group project at the end of the semester so make friends with the people around you!

Professor Hogan has good lectures and he keep it real. He gives you three test and group presentation, fairly easy class. Recommend his course. HILARIOUS

Dr. Hogan is a very funny guy and is passionate about the subject. Attendance is mandatory, but there is rarely a boring class. This isn't a complete blow-off class. You will need to study for the tests and do the projects, but outside of that there is almost no homework. Don't miss class. If you need a sociology credit, take Dr. Hogan.

Hogan was a bit unclear at times, but altogether if you put in the work in the class it was an easy A/B . Only a few assignments and you had to study and do well on all the tests, and make sure you were prepared for the group presentation. Inspiring professor, just be prepared to stay after class and ask him questions one on one for clarity.

Considering the professors I had this semester, good guy. Just ask for clarity, he is always open to explaining whatever you feel uncomfortable with.

Dr. Hogan is an amazing person! He is super kind & really cares about his students. If you take the time to chat with him he will make the class super fun for you. I highly recommend 10/10 I wish I could take him for every single class. You have to study but as long as it somewhat interests you it's not a big deal. Show up & do extra credit!

Dr. Hogan is AMAZING!!!!!! He made the class really enjoyable and sparked interesting discussions during lectures. BE SURE TO GET THERE ONTIME as he locks the door at the start of class! Also make sure that you get into a good group for the final project because it accounts for 20% of your course grade :)

This class taught me so much about myself

Dr. Hogan has been one of my favorite professors. He is super funny and brings so much life to the class, he genuinely values education and cares about each and every student. Only three super easy multiple choice tests and practically gives you all of the answers to the first two, he is strict on attendance though, Highly recommend Dr. Hogan.

The best teacher/professor I have ever had in my whole life, he cares so much about his students, the material is quality and he makes everything we talk about fun, lots of opportunity for extra credit and the 3 tests throughout the semester are clearly outlined with study guides.

Prof Hogan is an interesting guy and would have really liked him more in-person. We need to buy a online text with launchpad and there is one chapter due for each week - 10 question open book quiz and one discussion post. That is it - do your job and easy A. He gives extra credit end of the sem too. Clear grading criteria!

Dr. Hogan is a really funny guy and he really made this semester fun for me. Overall the work is pretty easy as you just show up to zoom meetings, read a section on Mindtap each week, watch some videos, participate in the discussion boards, and then take a ten-question quiz. Repeat these steps every week and you should finish with an easy A.

I enjoyed this class and would retake it! Precise grading with accessible quizzes. Just make sure you do the discussion boards; that's where a lot of points come in. Also, make sure you do textbook assignments. Never skip them! Though you have to read, it's not bad because the textbook is online, so you can sit and have it read out loud.

I had him for net classes so never got to see him but his workload is bareable. It's the same process every week so I've got use to it and you get used to it. It's open book for the quizzes which makes it easier to get an A. It takes over an hour to do the reading but it really helps for the quizzes.

Dr. Hogan has amazing and stimulating lectures! As long as you do your assignments on time and study you will do amazing! He definitely sets his students up for success and cares about how well his students are understanding the material needed for the tests. His lectures are inspirational and he has such an amazing personality even in online class
