He lets us call him by his first name: Terry! what more can i say! Hes a great teacher likes to joke around. Hes very helpful and wants students to understand before moving on to new material! He makes Lab really interesting and I learned a lot-study for the quizes! I hope i get him next semester!

Johnson is a pretty laid back professor. His test arent hard at all, but do require that you study for them. He tries to be funny.

What a great guy! Always has a smile on his pretty little face and yes I have him for 8 a clock Biology and I am not much for science but he makes the class worth going to. He's an easy teacher if you hate/don't understand biology. His class is such a blowoff class, and to me, it seems almost an insult to college. Tests are really easy, based on the notes. Attendance is not required, but you do have attendance checks everyday. If you like bio or are majoring in it, I don't reccomend him, class is almost a joke

This is his first Micro class at Tarleton so it was a little unorganized, but I believe he will make it a great class to take.

This class is my first experience with university biology, and an excellent one. He's always quick to clarify and answer questions, and even stays after class on the occasion I want to ask more about a subject. Good teacher.

He'll make you like biology. He's a really good professor and easy to understand. There are quizzes every class, but they're easy and open book. Just pay attention and you'll pass.

Covers a lot of material but he is very clear as to what will be on the test. Go to class or you will not pass but there is no need to get the textbook. If you do the test reviews and go to class it will be an easy A.

This class was a challenge for me, but he's very easy to go to and discuss topics. Microbiology is a different type of science and like any science it takes time to learn. Attend class because there are quizzes and go to SI. There are plenty of tools out there for you succeed in this class.

His lectures are long but full of important info and very clear. He makes it easy to understand. He gives quizzes at the beginning of most classes but if you did your studying, they are actually VERY helpful when preparing for the test. Don't skip. I did amazing on the tests and lab, but the only reason I got a B is because I skipped so much class. There is a clicker quiz everyday and they are 15% of the total grade.

He is a great prof, I am taking him again for Bio 1407

Expect to put your hours in studying for this class; without them, you just won't get it. If you do get stuck on a topic, go ask Mr. Johnson about it; he's very approachable. Throughout the years I've had DNA replication, transcription and translation explained to me several times. No one has EVER explained it as clearly as Mr. Johnson.

Mr. Johnson displays enthusiasm for the subject and the students. He tries to modify the material and work in hand with those who are struggling. He encourages and respects his students. He sets clear goals and provides high-quality feedback to his students. Mr. Johnson is an all round good teacher.

I loved Dr. Johnson! He came to every 8am with an amazing smile that made you want to work hard for him. Great lectures, detailed reviews and his tests are not bad if you study regularly. I studied the notes and reviews about every other day and increased that before exams and I never struggled. Daily quizzes but they are usually a free answer.

Mr. Johnson is awesome. His lectures are really good, you really learn what he means, but Biology includes lots of memorization so you still have to study by yourself to pass. His tests are really easy. Dont bother buying the book, Blackboard is all you need to study.

Dr. Johnson actually cares about his students and what they get out of the class. His tests can be tough start studying early!! His test reviews follow the exams pretty well, and the Final Review follows nearly exactly to the test! He is very helpful, and will explain as much as he can to better your understanding.

He was one of the most helpful professors I've had yet! Yes there is a lot of material, it's a harder science course, but he makes it much easier!! Good teacher overall. I received a B in the class w/o trying. He gives you info in power points . Test come from these power points and extra credit. Test are 3-5 chapter 50-70 question but power points can be up to 150 slides and EC sides are 50+ slides. lots of info. Try to learn in class and gives daily pop quizzes that go towards attendance.

This class is not easy and it's not supposed to be. If you skip class, and don't manage your time well, don't expect to make a good grade. He gives assessments that you can use your notes on. Study study study! If you don't you will not do well. Multiple choice lecture test, fill in the blank lab test. you wont need the book.

Mr Johnson made me work for my A. I took the class a second time after I made a B. I had an88.8. Some teachers will round but for him you get what you earned. This is beneficial for nursing.

I was highly impressed with Mr. Johnson's summer microbiology course. Mr. Johnson has a wonderful personality and is so easily approachable with questions over the material or inquiries about where you went wrong on a past exam. You absolutely must earn your grade but he does all he can to help you achieve that. Understanding PowerPoints is vital.

During lecture he takes his time with difficult topics, and draws them on the board. His class expectations are reasonable, and he wants everyone to succeed. Literally best ever! He is very helpful and doesnt mind going over material during his office hours if you are struggling. If he sees you trying to improve he will help you in the right direction. I would attend SI just for extra help. Go to class he gives extra credit point over things in the power point and it really helps your grade in the end.

Wonderful guy who loves to make bio as interesting as possible. He will always be saying dad jokes throughout lecture. He really does want you to pass and will help whenever you need it inside or outside of class. You really do have to study power points incredibly hard to pass his course. Wonderful guy!

LOVE this professor, I took him again for 1407 and made A's in both courses. He is very patient & passionate. If you have a question, go ask him. There are 4 tests but he makes reviews, DO THE REVIEWS & study & you'll pass. Come to class everyday, he has questions that pop up through out his ppts, its his way of attendance and easy 100 for you.

In 1407, the online homework w/ textbook wasn't bad, just do it. Also, show up for the 1-5 pop questions in his ppt, its how you'll get easy 100. His tests are alright, do the review he puts up and do not avoid the vocab words, these tests I thought leaned more to the vocab words than questions. Overall, study some, show up, and you should pass.

I had to retake biology 1407 because I had emergency surgery and missed the last lab practical and final, but there was still a few things about the plant life cycles I could never grasp, but he made it so much easier to understand. Attending class is mandatory to pass. If you can try and take your lab with him too.

Johnson was a really great teacher. Be ready to devote a lot of your time to studying for the tests because they're a lot of information. There's three tests, class clicker quizzes every lecture, and there's lab. As long as you study the notes on Johnsons BB, for lecture, pretty thoroughly you'll make an A in the class. Terry is a great professor!! But to pass this class you will HAVE to study. Its a TON of information. I never paid attention in lecture, I just showed up for the attendance grade because all his PowerPoints are online. If you study the vocabulary words and everything on his online reviews, youll make an A in his class. Studying is key to passing.

Lecture consist of going over power points but attendance is a grade. He is a tough grader in lab and the lab test are the hardest thing in the class. They are fill in the blank and are timed. Make sure to know the power points front and back for the lecture test. He does give extra credit opportunities at the end of every test.

Definitely need to study for his exams, theyre all on his powerpoints which are on Blackboard. The realest thing I can say is he is fair. If he sees you working hard he will help. I had him for lab and he was super helpful and positive. Definitely study a lot for his lab exams and also ask him questions to show that you care about earning your grade. Also look over your exams you can get some bonus points and a letter grade difference.

I took him for biology 1407 and 1406 and he is fairly easy. his tests are pretty difficult but the quizzes are easier. he gives in-class quizzes to keep attendance, so go to class it helps your grade. this semester and last semester in 1407, he gave extra credit for showing up to study skills sessions. I would go to those it saved my grade!

He is so relaxed and kind. He has amazing lectures and you can tell he is passionate about what he teaches. He provide great information and tips for tests and memory aide! Most of the students complained of Professor Johnson's class but in reality, none of them tried hard enough. When taking notes, I don't recommend printing out the powerpoints because it's harder to retain the information if you're not actively thinking and writing your own notes. The grade you get reflects the effort you put in. Very caring prof!

Awesome professor he dropped our lowest exam grade and some of our low assignment grades. Attendance isn't mandatory but he has a quiz every class that's like 3 questions long and sometimes its about class and other times he just does it to give credit for those who are there. He just wants you to pass the class. You have to be show up to lecture, there is an attendance quiz every day. The homework is online and easy to manage. The lecture tests are made from the homework. He also instructs some labs. Lab itself is not hard by any standard just show up. I took another prof and dropped to take micro with him, worth it!

I loved his class he's very clear that the test are basically all the notes and thats so true, if you simply just study the notes you'll pass no problem, you have to go to class though he has a quiz every class.

The only reason I didn't learn more than I did in this course is my mind and discipline. Professor Johnson is a great teacher, extremely understanding, and I recommend him to any student who takes any biology.

Professor Johnson was great! He truly cares and wants you to succeed. Tests can be difficult, but He gives extra credit on every test. Every class you take an open book quiz, so make sure you are there. Go to class and study for tests and you will be just fine.

Would 100% take this professor again. I knew taking A&P ll as a 5-week summer class would suck, and I'm sure that if I had any other professor, I would've dropped it. This should not be allowed as a 5 week course. However, it was obvious he did absolutely everything he could to help us succeed. Responds/grades super fast!

He does drop grades and gives you a lot of opportunities to do good in class. Didn't have a problem with him but make sure you study for his tests.

Material was clearly and thoroughly conveyed in each class. If you attend class regularly you will do well on the test. Mr. Johnson is very explicit about what is on the test (lecture notes only}. His demeanor is always pleasant and encourages participation. I thoroughly enjoyed this class and would recommend him highly to future students.

I love Mr. Johnson, and that is really it. He made microbiology fun and easy, which helped me maintain a high grade. Make sure to take notes and actually study, especially for the extra credit sections. He posts all the powerpoints so it is simple really!
