Went from A student to getting an F in his class. Nice guy but REALLY hard tests

His test's were so hard only around 7 people out of my 40 - 50 student class ever even passed the tests. The class average grade in my class was 32%.
This class sucked. He was hard as hell. Even though I studied my brains out, the test were made to fail everyone. I did decent in the class, but the class average was around 24% the semester I took his class.
take anyone but Jones!
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS! He may be the only anatomy teacher at stanislaus but i repeat do not take this class. take it at a jc. his tests are EXTREMELY hard very few students pass his class
just a horrible all round teacher
It isn't about his class being hard, its about the conveyance of knowledge and his failure to so so. Jones is a Darwin alright, but only to himself. No can do when it comes to explainning stuff. Other than that, hes ok.
This teacher needs to be fired.
Dr. Jones doesn't deserve his reputation. Anatomy is tough. Thats not his fault. The people who struggled the semester I had the class, were the ones who didnt put in the time. if you want to pass, be prepared to spend lots of time in lab and studying your lecture notes. College is supposed to be HARD!!! the sciences are not easy A's!
Do not take this teacher. He does not know how to lecture. His Lab has no direction. He is horrible. Take this class at a jc!!!
He sucked i wouldnt take him again. Got lucky with the grade I got but I didnt learn anything.
Difficult teacher, must work hard to do well. Doesn't like to give you answers wants you find them yourself.
He wont help you dosent know how to lecture. No organization has an ego. If you care about your GPA get ready for it to drop points.
This is a very tough class, but this is college, not high school! Dr. Jones is very knowledgable and wants his students to at least try to find answers on their own, but he is helpful. The students that complained the most always left lab early or missed lecture a lot. You have to put in the time, because his class is hard!
I am an honor student at CSUS and found this instructor to be useless. You are better-off to take this class elswehere and transfer it later. This was the worst Anatomy instructor I have ever had. He needs to learn how to teach in order for people to learn. Perhaps it would be in his best interest to remain in research. Dropping was impossible.
he is a cool guy but not the greatest teacher. his lab is absolutely pointless!! u sit there, read his lab manual, and your left to basically fend for yourself. his lectures are also pointless. he crams too much in a short time and also goes off topic alot! if you can get a different prof or go take it at a jc
I took his class during a Fall semester. His tests weren't impossible(though they were close), but I do not agree with his teaching methods. Sometimes I felt he was more into his stupid football team, rather than the students he was getting paid to teach. He was tough and I will eventually end up retaking this class, hopefully not with him though.

seriously he was the absolute worst professor i have ever had. every student is assigned a presentation 4 the semester and these presentations are every friday thruout the entire semester. so in other words he only lectures 2hrs a week and leaves most of the time during lab. he had 2 curve every1s final grade by 2 letter grades. i barely passed!
This teacher is a good teacher the class is hard but all anatomy classes are hard, useful lecture notes and helpful in the lab. It's a lot to remember and you have to study.
Tended to get off topic too easily, which was annoying, but he's a nice guy and knows what he's talking about in terms of Biology Lab. Often had classic rock music playing in background, which was cool.
Dont take terry jones, he is not a good teacher. I am taking him for evolution and he always goes off topic and at times seem like he doesnt know what hes talking about. He also pushes his political oppinion in class very anoying.
Nursing major. Failed his class. Impossible to get into any program in the state of California. This man ruined my life.
Jones should not teach evolution, he really does not have a clue what hes talking about when he thinks he does. Pushes is liberal point of view every class. To bad he has a 10 year or I would try and get him fired
gets off topic alot
Human Anatomy was an exciting and tough course. If you want to pass, better be prepared to dedicate your whole life towards this class. My advice to you would be to understand everything and PAY ATTENTION TO THE LITTLE DETAILS.Side effects:go to sleep studying, studying in your dream, and wake up studying.Think APPLICATION, not memorization.
Jones is a very tough teacher, but with ALOT of hard work you can get a good grade. Make sure to read his Lab book thoroughly. He is helpful when you show him that you really care about your grade. He is very opinionated and political which gets in the way of his teaching Anatomy. He believes he is right and he can be arrogant.
VERY VERY DIFFICULT. have to know every bold word in lab manual. expect to spend all time studying for this class and still barely pass. Would def recommend taking it at a JC.
DO NOT,I REPEAT,DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!YOU WILL END UP STUDYING YOUR BUTT OFF FOR NOTHING.CLASS AVERAGE IS(YR AFTER YR)IN THE 20% RANGE.HE IS SMART BUT OBVIOUSLY WANTS EVEYONE TO FAIL B/C HE DOESN'T CHANGE HIS TEACHING METHODS.I GOT A C BUT I KNOW OTHER STUDENTS GOT BETTER GRADES AND DIDNT ANYTHING SO BASICALLY TALK ABOUT FOOTBALL W/HIM,YOU'LL PASS
This is a hard class no lies...but its possible to pass it with a lot of hard work and dedication. i recommend you take it during the summer so you can dedicate only to this class. do not take it during fall or spring when you have other classes
Very thorough with expectations of class; lectures are important to attend because they provide direct* information that will be on exams. Exam questions are based; lab practicals are trickier. Don't be lazy, you won't be so stressed throughout the semseter. Talk to him: only good comes of it, he is very helpful to those who care
pay attention in lecture, live in the lab, and STUDY STUDY STUDY STUDY STUDY STUDY STUDY STUDY STUDY STUDY STUDY STUDY STUDY STUDY STUDY STUDY STUDY STUDY STUDY STUDY STUDY STUDY STUDY STUDY STUDY STUDY ... and study some more.
he will help you if you ask questions & there are so many people asking ?s itll take a long time for him to get to you, but i don't like his style of teaching in lab. let me rephrase that, HE DOESN'T TEACH IN LAB! teach yourself, youtube works great. he wants u to fail, don't let him do it!
Dr. Jones does a great job of making a tough subject as easy as possible. Anatomy is a difficult class that requires a ton of studying, but he is really good at breaking things down, using analogies, and giving tricks for remembering things. He simplifies things as much as possible, but he can't transform anatomy into some magically easy subject!
DO NOT TAKE TERRY JONES!! WORST TEACHER EVER. HIS SLIDES ARE USELESS, HIS LECTURE IS USELESS.
He is the worst professor I have ever had my entire life. He makes the class harder than it should be, expectations high af. He is super general when he explains stuff, and the notes are useless. Don't take his class.
This class was extremely hard to take over a summer session. My honest advice is to NOT do this course over summer unless this will be the only thing getting every second of your attention. He is knowledgeable. His tests are based off his lectures, his lab based off of lab manuals, but do not expect to know what is on them because he won't tell you
The first test he made an error in grading the scantrons by switching up the keys(there were only two keys).Lab manuals with the material we were responsible to learn(and spell correctly) were filled misspelled words and stuff "you dont have to know"(his words not mine). Save your money and take this at a JC, the material will be taught alot better
Dr. Jones is a great teacher and does his best to make a hard class more manageable. That said it is Anatomy and will require studying on your own. Don't fall behind or it will be tricky. Highly recommend getting a group together early to study with. He's always available to help if you show you really care. Make sure you study well for practicals
He doesn't take attendance in class because there are just so many students, but don't think that just because he doesn't take attendance that you won't have to go to class. You Still Do. His lectures are everything from the book, BUT, he doesn't cover everything. Why? because what he covers in lecture is what is on the test. STUDY HARD & GOOD LUCK
the 411 to pass this class! go 2 lecture & write notes on what he lectures. test base on what he lectures only. type ur notes as you read the chapter with it also, adding more information that was not clear during lecture (vry important) organize these typed notes as a study guide! exam ? r specific so be sure that u fullly understand what u r typn
He is one hard professor so far. I think its impossible to know all the stuff he wants you to know. Just study and try hard. Don't get behind.
DO NOT TAKE, i am a 4.0 student and i took this class this man is the reason i will never be a nurse
You really have to go to class because what he lectures is on the test. He is not helpful at all and gives no study guides. Horrible, horrible teacher. Made my want to change my major and lost faith in myself.
You have to put a lot of time in, it's not impossible but it's so frustrating. Exams are really hard cus they are basically based on his lecture plus can be tricky so you will have to read on your own. STUDY STUDY STUDY. Too many made it seem like super hard, it is but you can do it. I have a job&i'm in a sorority& I am managing a midlow B.
To be honest, some people can do this class and some cannot. It is all based on you and your mentality. My friend is not passing the class at all and she goes home every night and studies. I on the other hand have a midhigh C so far. I read the book every night too. This class shouldn't be this hard. Just study and hope for the best. Bad professor!
Gives online Homework and Quizzes. Gonna have to read the textbook cause the lectures is most pictures from the textbook. Grading is pretty easy but the class is not so much if you get a 75% or higher that's an A. There's 3 exams and 1 final all multiple choice. Lab practical is what kills your grade through.
He is by far the worst Anatomy professor out there. He knows his stuff, but definitely does not know how to teach it. His tests are based on what he lectures, but you must learn the material by heart in order to pass his tests. I recommend to take the anatomy class elsewhere, especially if you need an A to get into the nursing program.
HARDEST CLASS I've ever taken. I studied a few hours every single day and it was still impossible for me to pass. Dr. Jones simply doesn't want you to pass! He wants us all to fail and make it impossible for any of us to fulfill our dream of becoming a nurse. ONLY 50% OF THE CLASS PASSES! Mostly everyone changed their major by the end of the term.
This class is really tough. Most people don't even pass and end up changing their major. He does not provide help or study guides. You think you can do it but you really can't. I study all day everyday, including weekends and i still can't pass! By the way I am on the dean's list for the past three semesters, so it doesn't mean that I don't study.
Don't even try and take a class with Jones. He WILL fail you. Nobody passes this class, there's no point.
Just don't take this class. DON'T.
Jones' way of teaching is not the best . The lecture tests were the hardest because the practicals are just memorizing & identifying. An A in his class is really really hard but its not impossible. I got a B in his class but had I put 10% more effort, I would have had an A. Just study even if you feel like you know it because chances are you don't.
I think the reason people find the class hard is bc the tests he gives includes 4-6 chpts at a time and ea. chpttest is very detailed. Practicals are the same, only 2 and ea. includes 12 of semester's worth info. Go to class, rewrite your notes, read, & you should do fine. Also visit the lab, besides lab days and the Friday before a practical
This class is not worth your effort and time. Please take this course somewhere else. It gets to the point where you have to spend all your time to this class. You won't even have time to do homework for your other courses.
Don't take him. Spend your money elsewhere. Take it at a JC.
Do yourself a favor and don't take this class. It isn't worth it.
Don't take this class!
The exams are hard because there is a lot to study for them. Also the lab practicals are hard especially the first one. There are only two practicals. I recommend to not take his class but if you have to then you will have to dedicate your whole life to this one class. And you will barely pass! Half the class fails, and half passes. Good luck!!!!
He's not very approachable, hates what he considers dumb questions. His tests are hard, so be ready to spend a huge chunk of your time studying. The book is definitely essential, as well as attending his lectures, which he says he bases he tests on, but the questions are way more in depth than the lectures.
I found this to be the most helpful: tutoring center, make FLASHCARDS after EVERY test(the final exam is cumulative), type out your notes after EVERY lecture(helps retain the info & makes it fresh in ur mind), and go to his office to review missed questions. This class is VERY challenging, but not entirely impossible. I got an A, but it wasn't easy
Please save yourself from tears and stress, don't take him. It isn't worth it. Smart people are struggling in this class. It is super hard. You can spend all the time you want studying for this class and you will barely pass.
Don't take him even if he is your last option.
Honestly, this professor and this class material itself is challenging. There's no way to sugar coat it, but now that I've been in the program a few semesters, this kind of class prepares you for the nursing program (which is why you're taking it). Just expect it to be difficult no matter who teaches, and buckle down and do the best you can!
Typically 4.0 student and this is the hardest class I have ever taken. Anatomy is a tough course but he doesn't care about student success. Practicals impossible (class average of 22%) and his lecture tests are much more in depth than lecture so be prepared to read the textbook thoroughly. It is possible to pass but it has to be your life goal. LOL
Jones' way of teaching isn't the best. But I do know that he does curve your grades at the end. I honestly did not learn anything in his class and reading the book did not help. I ended up with a C at the end of the semester. I wished I would've taken this course at the jc instead. I decided to switch majors from a pre-nursing to kinesiology.
This subject is difficult no matter who teaches it. Jones is a very difficult professor as well as a tough grader, however what most students don't seem to do is utilize open lab and ask him for help. Dr. Jones is extremely helpful when asked (especially when it's evident you've already tried to answer it yourself). Go to class and study hard.
This is one of the most difficult professors I've had. A cheap book was assigned that I dabbled in, but he focuses more on lecture and ESPECIALLY lab. He wants you to know function and application of these principles not just memorization. That's why so many people fail. Y'all really don't know how to learn and retain information. That's his focus
The lectures are long and jam packed with information. He doesn't provide study guides for exams so whatever you go over, you need to know for the exams so basically be ready to dedicate your semester to this class. It is a hard class but an A is attainable as long as you put in the work for it and go to open lab and SI sessions.
Take anatomy somewhere else.
If you are a athlete DO NOT take this class during season. Try to take this class at a junior college but if you do take him be ready for fast pace lectures, power points with no text, no study guides and memorizing the entire chapter because literally anything and everything is fair game during test. Study groups or tutoring is highly recommended.
We studied the labia minora and majora. It was great. Also the prepuce. DONT TAKE THIS CLASS THO 4 REAL
Dr. Jones as a person is great. Dr. Jones as a professor is a nightmare. The guy is super cool but he doesn't help you pass the class at all. You really have to dedicate your life to this class. Advice: make quilts or powerpoint then study. After that, study some more because you'll need to study at least everyday if you want an A.
This is a very difficult subject regardless of the professor. Dr. Jones makes himself very available inside and outside of class and he is really knowledgeable. The class is crazy hard but if you spend a lot of time studying you can do well. Best bet is to focus on his lab manual and attend extra lab sections every week. You Tube is a big help too.
class average? 48% -- get ready to teach yourself
Anatomy is hard. That's just a fact, so be prepared to work hard for your grade. Jones is the most available professor I've ever had. He's available before and after class and during the other lab times. He doesn't mind if you go to other labs to get help. Study the lab manual. Go to class. Ask when you have a question. Simple, but difficult.
Take his class to challenge yourself. If you can't handle him then please consider to change your major. Currently, in doc. grad. program and he saved me. I am so glad that I took him before I start my grad. program. He will bring you up to the next level. DO NOT; give up/complaints, JUST DO IT. He is there to help you.
Anatomy is hard wherever you take it. Dr. Jones makes himself available to you and helps you wherever you can. He is a difficult grader but if you do the work and actually study you will be fine. If you think he graded something wrong he allows you to challenge him. You get what you put into it!
Terrible professor. Lecture slides were diagrams taken straight from the textbook, and he would simply spend class rambling about the diagrams. Very condescending, I do not think he cares to see students succeed, all he cares about is his paycheck. I've put hours into this class but still find myself coming home after class frustrated and upset.
Really difficult to pass this class. You can understand the material on your own, however the tests are what fails the whole class. He marks you down for spelling and gives quizzes every week. Beware. Our class average was 13%.
Dr. Jones is funny throughout his lectures, very sarcastic. His power points are just a guide to what you will learn. So you must comprehend what is going on because his exams are fill in the blanks with no word bank. Make sure you genuinely learn and go to ALL open labs (its worth it at the end!)
During lectures, he would get off topic A LOT! All exams are fill in the blank. For his short answer questions he wants it specific and DO NOT WRITE OUTSIDE THE BOX. He will automatically give you a ZERO. He barely told the class this when we began our THIRD EXAM! He's a tough grader so be ready!
he is very hard and you have to be very precise on what terms you use even though he might have said it during lecture it could be marked down. Clarify with him on the correct terminology. Go to all the SI's they really help and reread your notes everyday. Do not take this class if you have a choice.
Great
Lectures give little to no info., Labs are difficult to grasp ( paragraph descriptions- uses harder terms to describe what you should know, very little pictures) Test fill in blank, paragraph answer, no word bank - Avoid this class or Drop - or take it literally anywhere else
Class outline: given a blank piece of paper, no word bank all short answer Class avg. 39/100 (1st test) (does no curve) Lab: gives little diagrams if any (bad at explaining) Lecture: attendance not necessary this semester, isn't effective on staying on topic or explaining, posts slides with pictures but little words (had vacation pictures in class
High retention( fail rate) averages for two tests so far both under 50% (38,45). Teacher doesn't explain/ plan out lecture well, no curve. Prof has tenure and doesn't care, Take anywhere else
Hopefully this Professor finds something he's good at because he sure isn't good at teaching. Lecture sucks, tells stories and jokes more than he teaches. Tests are difficult. It's all short answer, and he marks students for writing outside the box on tests and also for spelling.
Hard, Hard, Hard....... Take somewhere else! He's really lazy and exams are super hard. You must dedicate 100% of your time to pass this class.
DO NOT JONES IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO PUT IN MAX EFFORT, his class is passable, but you better know what you are talking about. He is VERYYY picky on his tests so make sure your definitions are specific and clear!! He is very available outside of class especially for lab. Lab requires a lot of time and effort, but is straight forward if you study.
Unless you're Einstein or have no other priorities, this class is not for you. He is not accommodating at all and it is nearly impossible to pass his class. You have to dedicate every waking hour to studying for this class ALL the time. All his exams are short answer and you have to be incredibly detailed. He's a cool dude just a bad professor.
Hes cool to talk to in lab, but if you need a good grade in anatomy to get into the nursing program, do NOT take it here. The class average for exams were always really low, once as low as 27% for my class, and he is a tough grader. He wants very specific answers, the tests are unnecessarily hard, and all questions on every exam are open ended.
DONT be intimidated. if you actually like anatomy then this class shouldnt be hard for you. He does care about students but doesnt show it much. you have to ask him questions during lab. I took him during the summer and he didnt have a problem helping identify things. READ HIS MANUAL, make sure you understand what hes explaining.
Nope. Do not even read the 4/5 star ratings. I took this class thinking that I would be challenged and would get an A but noo. I study very hard and meticulous for this class. Do not waste your time and money. Take your Anatomyor any of your sciencesat a JC. -Pre-nursing
I honestly have no words. Average for everything was low F's like how it is at UC's, but the difference is no curve over here lol. Anyone that leaves a good review probably was only taking anatomy and had no job which allowed them to study 8 hours plus a day. I am so shook from his class.
Probably the worst teacher I have had at Stanislaus. Extremely difficult, I would spend so much time studying and still would not pass exams. Even some of the advisors would warn me about him.
Goodluck for those of you that think his anatomy being online is going to be easier. Exams come from a big pool of questions so even if you take the exams in a group you are all going to have different exams. Also, you can't just look up answers from google because the exams go through Turnitin and if there is plagiarism... you failed the class.
You will have a lot of work to do. He gave us too many resources (which I think were not necessary) to read. The work is not easy and he will make it harder for you! Many people cheated on their tests and he decided to not curve any grades for this semester. All the tests are timed, for example 45 questions in 30 minutes.
Don't get me wrong Dr. Jones is easy to talk to and will help you if you ask him. What I didn't like was that he would watch his baseball games during lab. He was super laid back but didn't seem super invested in his students. All exams are fill in the blank, expect to know everything! Only bright side is that he curves your grade.
This class is really hard, you have to put lots of effort inorder to pass this class. Exams are all using a lockdown browser and camera. Study the SB and understand the lesson, also review using quizlet's for each chapter. Lecture homework is on Connect and the Lab is on Lt. ONLY TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU ARE READY TO STUDY HARD EVERY DAY!!!!!
Pretty tough class, but workable. Format might change up in this online era of school, but most points come from tests and lab practicals. Lab practicals are killer, most slides come from APR or Practice Atlas (online resources that come with your textbook and class registration).
He is a good professor but his class is really hard so you have to put in so much effort in order to pass. He curves the grade by the end of the semester. STUDY EVERYDAY AND DONT WAIT TILL THE LAST MINUTE! Overall you are mainly graded by the exams so review the APR for labs and Sb for lectures (Quizlet). Don't buy the book.
This class was a nightmare. This is my second time taking this course, the first time with a different professor, and I was hoping that Jones would be better. HE'S NOT! I think this course is just terrible at Stan. This class gave me so much anxiety I broke down sobbing multiple times - it's not worth it.
The worst professor I've had during my time at Stan State, next up would be Scales. The anatomy professors at this school are awful and I wish they would look into that. The class is ridiculous and you're expected to memorize more stuff than humanly possible. Taking this class means that you enjoy pain and suffering.
He was a horrible professor... If you want to pass this class you'll need a miracle because he will do everything in his power to make it impossible for you to pass. he would also explain his family was "white trailer trash" which was extremely disrespectful and out of line for a professor. He also would treat you horribly if you asked questions...
He was an OK professor. He didn't really teach during his lectures and most of the time went off topic. I had to teach myself since his lectures weren't helpful. He creates a textbook that you are required to buy. I also took his lab and most of the time was lost. You definitely need to study and read the text book before class or you'll be lost.
Although the professor doesn't teach, you can still pass the class if you put in time yourself. I'd suggest reading the lab manual, asking questions in lab, making a study group/going to SI. Try to get full points on all the homework, it will help you in the long run. Go over material before class, so it can be a review during class.
The professor isn't too bad.The problem is the amount of material that is taught. As you are both tested on lecture and lab separately when taking this class. Lecture utilizes information from the online textbook. Lab utilizes models and cadavers. As advice. Use smartbooks to study lecture. For lab annotate your manual, askquestions to himifconfused
Terry Jones is the worst professor I've ever had. His lectures are pointless as he tends to get off subject and only provides slides with no text. His labs are also very lack luster as I have barely learned anything from them since he relies on students "teaching" other students. Anatomy is challenging and I would highly recommend a better teacher.
Jones is the worst professor I have ever had in my entire life. He is extremely lazy and makes everything online and auto-graded. He sits around and does absolutely nothing during labs and would rather talk about beers during lecture. If you are unable to get Scales, take anatomy at MJC, do everything to avoid Jones. I mean it when I say RUN!
I had a hard time with Jones, you are setup to struggle. Lab was a waste of my time, it was all students teaching each other. HE ASSUMES EVERYONE KNOWS ANATOMY LIKE HE KNOWS IT. Lecture was a waste of time too he talked more about rock bands or drinking beer. You are set up to fail for Lab exams!
This is the worst Professor I've ever encountered. He teaches NOTHING, lab consists of him sitting on his phone scrolling for 3+ hours while he relies on students to teach each other, His lecture is basically him making bad jokes and talking about beer and heavy metal. I honestly am astounded that he is a professor at CSU Stanislaus.
Labs consisted of students teaching each other. Lots of homework assignments that are worth nothing in your grade. Great person, not so great professor. Be prepared to teach yourself everything and rely on outside sources because I learned nothing in lecture, less than 1/2 of the content on the readings was taught during lecture.
Okay he's controversial.. has no lecture slides but u can follow along w the book which is good. Doesn't give study guides like Scales, BUT he has no in person lab quizzes! its on APR which is easy just open the tab before hand. Total of 6 exams. 3 lab practicals (1 online) and 3 Lect Exams all online through proctor and the last one is cumulative.
Nice guy but he doesnt really teach. lecture is him reading off the book. Recommend watching YouTube vids and going to SI very helpful. And for lab i would say go to open lab its so important, and watch youtube videos on the models, and cat dissection. ASK HIM FOR HELP during lab he's very helpful and nice dont feel pressured not to ask questions.
Jones was awesome! If you aren't going to be dedicated and spend hours studying like you're supposed to, don't take the class. People blame him but the material is just difficult. He will spend time talking to you if you aren't understanding a concept, so go to office hours. Go to open lab if you want to succeed on lab exams. Use APR to study.
IDK what the last few reviews are about but Dr Jones has no place being a professor at CSU STAN. He simply does not care, and puts in almost no effort to teach his class. This is the worst college experience i've had and it's extremely stressful investing so much money to take this class with so little help or guidance. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!
Worst professor ever, he doesn't teach in lab just sits on his phone and relies on students teaching each other?? I'm paying for this class not to be taught by fellow students! Lectures are a waste of time he just makes lame jokes and talks about beer and metal bands. Do not take this class with Dr. Jones you'll regret it!
Took Dr. Jones lab for anatomy and loved it! He was very helpful during lab days and was always willing to help out when we were confused. He definitely wants everyone to succeed and set up his lab for success as well. Of course the material is difficult but that is not a reflection of the professor. 10/10 recommend, take lab with him if you can!!!
DO NOT take this class in the summer especially if it is you're first time taking it... Way too fast paced, you won't be able to keep up. The highest grade in the class was a B- and it was just one person. I'm usually do well in science classes, and this was the first time I really struggled. You're on your own during lab, he doesn't really help.
Listen to these reviews, do not take Terry Jones he is a terrible professor. Anatomy is already a tough course and he makes it as hard as possible. The average for our class lab practical was a 40% and a student even got a 4/100, half the class did not pass.
Dropped this class within the first 2 weeks as a student with a 4.0. This class was ridiculous. No open lab, no recording lectures, does not provide lecture material. Doesn't teach during lab, is on his phone or out of the room. Lectures are rambles and barely any material but no words on his slides only pictures. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.
I've had straight As since high school. Took this over the summer and regret it so much. You have a much better chance taking the class with someone else. This course was a waste of money and delayed me two semesters because it was too late to enroll in the fall. I will have to take the class again next spring with a different professor.
Dr jones knows his anatomy well but a lazy professor. When I was lost, I would ask questions after class, and he has helped me understand concepts. Since he is lazy for his lectures, I did read the textbook to help fill the gaps. It's not the end of the world if you take jones, you'll just need to do some extra work to understand concepts. STUDY!!
By far the hardest class i've taken. Not a good prof & lazy most of the time. Most people fail this class & few (1-3) people get As. Lab is important. I thought people were being dramatic but this was a terrible semester. Would spend 20-40 hrs a week studying and still fail. Average lab tests were 20/100 + lecture 60/100 + tests are 80% of grade.
I would not recommend this professor at all. In fact, take another professor-Scales! Didn't learn anything in this class, had to teach myself and rely on the books for class. Labs were boring too,you are on your own if you want to learn. The professor somehow manages to turn every lecture into a rambling monologue about beer, his wife, and his kid
I DON'T recommend taking Jones. He isn't helpful, during labs he would just sit in the middle of the classroom on his phone and when you would call him, he seemed bothered. In lecture, he would get off track and talk about his family and ribeye. Some tests I felt confident and I would fail it like? I LOWKEY THINKS he purposely fails students
