Awesome teacher! Fun and silly. Really helps you out for the final, pay attention to everything she says and print out any powerpoint she has on webct. Very understanding but come to class when she says its very important to. Some kids missed the first part of finals and didn't get the take home final. overall: wonderful experience!!!

If you want a fun teacher this is her.. she does expect you to do your work but its not hard. she gives you plenty of time to complete your work and even gives a lot of extra credit. she is amazing and i am so glad that i was part of her class

It was a hybrid class and I thought it was ok. She does give a lot of "busy" work but its easy and she works with you if you get behind. Take it if you need an elective credit! Easy A-B if you do your work.

This professor is the best teacher out there. She is funny and really, really easy. Took student success online and passed with an A. She only gives one test which is the final exam and it is based on the logs you completed throughout the course. She is a very sweet and caring person. Will take her 100 time more if I could.

All you need to pass this class is common sense. Shes perfectly clear about what she expects out of you and she doesn't expect you to be a genius. Just do the work and keep up your stuff. DON'T THROW ANYTHING AWAY. Just make sure you check your grade a lot because she does make mistakes sometimes.(shell tell you from the start, shes dyslexic)

Professor Carles is a pretty good professor, way too many assignments and group projects but an easy A and a cool teacher. I mean, if you're taking SLS & you don't know what you want to do with your life, take this class & you'll probably find out.

She was my first professor at Valencia and by far the best! I loved her class. She was so nice, so helpful even though I emailed her a billion times throughout the semester and always understanding. She gives out a lot of homework but its actually enjoyable to do. I would take her class again if I could.

Terry Rafter-Carles was an amazing teacher! She responds to email so fast and she is so kind. I was not excited about taking this class, but it really helped me ! The work is very easy but keeps you busy.

Professor Carles is very nice and clear with instructions. She makes learning fun. The group project is a short movie about a chapter from a certain book. The class is about you learning about yourself and what you want to do for a career.

Very clear on what she expects. Makes class funny and gives us short life lessons. What I learned from this class has helped me so much. Amazing professor , I would reccomend to everyone and half the time u are not even in class. She gives students "work days" to complete assignments during class time and attendance is optional.

Great, great professor!! Really cares about students (event though she pretends she doesn't). Always available. She's even emailed me on weekends to answer questions. She will give you "the look" if she thinks you're not working up to your potential... even though she's old enough to be my mom, she's still cute.

If you are forced to take this pointless class, you might as well take it with her. She is super caring and fantastic at teaching. I feel like her teaching skills should be put towards a better class. Lots of homework, but tons of resources and clear instructions. Most of the work is online. Tons of extra credit - do it. She is just AMAZING!!!! absolutely loved her class! In her SLS class i was able to truly find what i wanted to do as my career.. If i didn't take her for SLS i would've continued to do a career that i would'nt have enoyed as much as the one i am going for now. She's just great. If you don't take Professor Carles for SLS, you're doing college wrong. She is AMAZING. I accidentally missed the first day of class, but she was kind and understanding to let me stay. This class is A LOT of work that seems pointless, in my opinion, throughout the year but it all comes together with your final project/exam. Prof. Carles is provides good feedback on your work, which is great.

Easily the best professor I have had thus far. She gives fantastic feedback and grades within 1-3 days of the time you submitted your assignment. Many discussions, but they are all very interesting. This class is an easy A as her assignments are extremely easy and allow you really plan out your future! 11/10 would take again :)

She's pretty cool. She gives a lot of homework, but she gives 100 points of extra credit as a safety net. Beware the final and her laugh bc it's low key annoying, but she's really nice. Understanding, and if you turn in your work, you'll pass.

I took her class online as a dual enrollment student. I really enjoyed her class and I would definitely recommend to take her. I rarely communicated with her, but when I did she was very helpful and replied back quickly. She also was a bit of a harsh grader when it came to making sure you had the right MLA format and word count/sentences.

My favorite professor so far. She's hilarious and super helpful. She's always ready to help. She hardly does the boring lecture. This class is a lot if interacting with the teacher and the students.

Take this Professor if you need to take New Student Experience (SLS 1122)!!!! I failed during my first semester because my teacher didnt care to be in class and neither did I lol A little scared retaking the same course but Professor Terry helped me soo much and she gives tons of extra credit opportunities and I got nothing less than an A!!

She offered a lot of extra credit opportunities and the final project is basically broken up throughout the semester. Shes highly organized and offers clear rubrics. Its impossible to not get an A.

I toke professor Carles as a hybrid class where we only meet on Wednesdays and she is a really great professor. she cares about you and your grades. she gives extra credit so i ended up with a 106% as my final grade very easy to talk to and she gives good feedback's. if you want an easy course, take her!!!

Easy A. Requires you to think about the future often. Most of her graded assignments are worksheets you have to fill in. She offers many extra credit options but her class is really easy so it's not needed.

Professor Rafter-Carles was an excellent choice for my first ever Valencia DE course. She truly cares about her students success rates and offers a plethora of extra credit opportunities. Professor Terry is a wonderful SLS professor. i learned so much in her class. she is very funny, nice ,sweet, and a caring professor. I would definitely recommend anyone to take her. you will not regret it. she is just a sweetheart.

This class helps you learn who you are by taking online personality, interest and strengths tests. The professor opens the entire class at the beginning. I was able to complete it in a few weeks. This professor really cares about her students. She is there for you and wants to help you succeed in getting your degree.

An incredibly kind and helpful professor. I took her online class and the only thing you need is the textbook digital access code for an assignment. She's great if you're looking for an easy class that you will get an A in. Her final consists of making a video about a letter from your future self, giving advice to someone applying to college. I literally did it all in 3 hours and still managed to get 100 on it. If you do something late she only marks off a few points. Plenty of extra credit too

I loved taking the New Student class with Professor Carles! She is caring, inspirational, patient, and a clear communicator. I was not afraid to ask her questions when I was confused. She made getting through the modules fun by hiding Easter eggs in the reading material. I highly recommend taking the New Student class with her. :)

Few homework but each one is SO LONG. Quite easy just put in the Hardwork and do this class 1st not at last minute! I made it out with a 106.88% :) She let me SKIP the final project, gave SO MUCH extra credit there's no way you can fail. I learned a lot to be honest. Very sweet and gave me extension because of personal emergencies. TAKE NOW!
