seating charts, takes roll every meeting, calls on everyone for answers, very STRICT, qualified professor because he CAN teach, tests are work problems, you'll get adrenaline when you go to his class.

if you really want to learn go for him; otherwise, don't even try it. He's very STRICT, but believe me it makes you work harder and study as you have never imagine. His lectures and homework are excelent.

Calls on every student for answers to the hw so be prepared! Grading is fair, tests are hard, he explains the details well but very strict. Locked me out because I was 2 minutes late one morning. I deserved a B in the class but gave me a C.. not cool.

I loved this teacher! The class forced me to study everday. He will call on you, and YOU BTTER KNOW THE ANSWER! Got an A in the class, offers a 30pnt xtra credit assignment, try to sit in front, good teacher if youre not a lazy ass.

GREAT TEACHER. Lectures very clearly so you will definitely understand the material. His way of teaching will force you to study and do the hw. The subject is kinda difficult but he will make sure you know what your doing.

This is a great class to learn the concepts of accounting. He is a great lecturer, one of the best teachers I have had at pierce. Very colorful guy. Will lay a solid foundation for Acctg 2 - your gonna need it. Take Partington for Acctg 2 - Stay away from Jeppson..Far away

He is very good at teaching the material. The best teacher at lecturing. His explanations are very clear. Be on his good side. Very stylish for a man of his age. :)His wardrobe consists of so many different colors and styles of polo shirts.

The best teacher for accounting ever. His lectures are the best and vey clear. One word of advise, sit in the front, he picks on the people in the back. Oh, and turn off your phone in his class, never be late, other than that his class is easy. I got an "A"

only take him for acct1, fair teacher and smooth teaching style, you will learn something and you wont fall asleep in class. Do the EXTRA CREDIT. I would say EASY B

best coll acct prof EVER! explains everything that's on the test, and will crack jokes on dumb students. loved every minute of it. took a winter session, and didn't mind the 5 hr class; we got a break after 2, and half the time we were gone in 4 hrs...WAY BETTER THAN ANY BITTER ACCT TEACHER AT CSUN.

If you want to actually learn accounting, take it with Thomsen. He's not easy, but he knows what he's talking about. If you're one of the dumb students, beware-- he'll put you in your place.

This guy is hilarious. If you are not understanding the subject he will tear you apart. His outfitts are great, he teaches VERY well. Do your homework, its easy, and you will easily pass the class. He gives extra credit but i didnt even need it! =)

Awesome. If you sit in the front, beware he will call on you from out of nowhere; so be preapared, have all your homework done. He is very clear and very concise. Got an A in the class, best teacher I have had in a while.

Hes a good teacher but the subject is a little hard to understand at first. It takes some basic math but it can get confusing. Make sure you get chapter 1 down hard.

Love this teacher, he took a very boring subject and kept us awake with his humor. I wish all the teachers at Pierce were half as entertaining as this guy. He made the subject very clear.

Great teacher. Very professional, but also fun and friendly. Will drop half of the class, mostly because subject is hard. The good students will have a lot of fun. Always clear in his expectations and no surprises.

Mr. Thompsen is a very good teacher. He is very knowledgeable about accounting. His class is hard though. I took it and had to withdraw and enroll in Mrs. Glucks class. He moves very fast and you have to be able to keep up.

Best teacher at Pierce. You will learn accounting with him. A lot of work, you need to keep up or you will fall behind. I became an accounting major because of him. Get ready to be called on in class!

He is a wonderful teacher, he really knows his stuff. He is easy if you stay on top of the game otherwise you won't make it. But it's not his fault, it will be yours.

best accounting teacher you can find at pierce. but you have to keep up with the work. i took him during summer and got an A. if you do what he asks you to do you'll be ok, but if you are looking for a kick back calls this is not it. take him if you really want to learn.

If you really want to learn take this teacher. He doesnt take**** and runs a tight ship. Keep up with the work and you will never learn more in one semester than what you learn is mr.thomsens class.

VERY good teacher, and he clearly expects your work to be as good as his teaching. Be sure to do all the homework, ask plenty of questions, and compare notes with the people next to you. Take as much time as you need to fully understand the material, and you'll do fine.

This is the best teacher ever! He is kinda annoying in the beginning because he repeats himself ALOT! but in the end you realize how much it helps for him to do this. his final is not cummulative and if you take notes and study what he tells you, you will pass with no problem at all. He also gives extra credit!

He's probably the best accounting teacher in Pierce college. But you must do all the homework and review in order for you to get A. He's a tough guy who grades like son of a ****.

Well, I didn't do well in his class, but he is without doubt an excellent teacher. His way of teaching the class is very harsh and sometimes he makes you feel insignificant. Other than that, I do recommend him, but DON'T take accounting in a break. -.-

Mr. Thomsen is without a doubt the greatest teacher I have had yet. I do not recomend him however to anyone who does not expect to be doing any work. His tests are not easy but can be passed simply as long as you go to class.

A very good teacher. He explains very well. If you do your homework you definitely will not have problem with the test. Minimum memorization required.

yes, he is a little eccentric. However, it doesn't interfere with his amazing ability to convey information to his students. This class is definitely worth taking. Just pay attention and you will get an A.

Thomsen is simply the best , you have to keep up with the work not to fall behind but this prof will really teach you acct . One of the best teacher i highly reccomend him .

I took his class last year, and enjoyed every minute of it. He is a great professor; he doesn't waist time and covers the important chapters in class. He is a college professor and teaches like one. Take him if you are interested in learning.

Hurry up and take him before he retires because he is retiring after fall 2006. He is an excellent teacher but just make sure you do not ask dumb question since he will make you feel stupid. However, otherwise he is really good. just do the hw and study it. and read some of the chapters. If you fail this class, then u are dumb. sorry.

a very professional acct teacher. his class is 4 hours during summer and i can honestly say i enjoyed every minute of it. his great teaching ability is only surpassed by his loud voice and clear lectures. class is not easy unless work and effort is put into it. tests are vague examples of hw and book material.

Wow! I can't believe people say that they enjoyed going to this hard class with this teacher!!!!!! The class is challenging and I took it over the winter break, which meant almost five hours of class everyday. Study the excercises/HW and you'll do well in the class. I also enjoyed going to this challenging class just like the other students.

IF you want to learn accounting without any BS, take him, he knows what he's talking about. This class isn't for those who are lazy. Just study, do the assignments, and come to class, and you can get a A/B. He reviews the day before the test. Excellent teacher. He will ridicule you for an incorrect answer but it is obvious that this is his personal way of trying to motivate you to understand the concepts as much as possible. Do what he says. If he listen and do not take notes, do it. If he says write this down, do it. Do what he says and do all the homework and u will get an A for sure.

Mr. Thomsen is by far one of the most inspirational and admirable acct. Teacher i will say that 1st time i took his class i droped out, i felt intimidated, but I took him again and He is really the meaning of education, he is the best of the best when it comes to acct. material. thank you Mr. Thomsen for pushing me to the limits it helped me mature

Okay, this teacher is tough, The reason I got an A was because i studied my ass off. He is clear and is a good teacher, but you have go and pay attention and do all of the homework. You will spend a lot of time studying and preparing for his tests, Alot of people show up, but the drop rate is 50%.

He's very hard. I really enjoys the way he teaches but the tests are really hard, if you want to get A, you have to 'swallow' every single word in the lecture and do all the homework. class is challenging but helpful so I recommend him.

ATTEND THE CLASSES, ASK QUESTION, AND DO THE HOMEWORK BECAUSE THE TESTS ARE BASE ON THEM

He is a very good teacher but you need to study a lot if you want to have a good grade.It is worth it !!!!. Sometimes he does not have enough patience to answer silly question. That is very bad because no everybody has an accounting mind like he does.

best accounting teacher one could ever ask for! he doesn't beat around the bushes and makes sure you REALLY understand the material. do all the hw, and you will not be led astray. overall, i am very impressed and recommend him to everyone. i only wish he taught accounting 2 as well..

Perfect professor. He is supper. The best professor in P.C. You gonna learn alot form him. It's passed almost two years, but I still remember all topics that I have learned from him. He is my world. But donot take with Foster.

He is a superb instructor. Lectures are pretty intense and are interactive. a lot of class time is spent going over homework and he will call on you so be prepared to participate. Exams are almost exactly the same as the homework problems. Listen to what he says, dont worry about taking notes except when he tells you to remember something specific

Thomsen is an incredible professor!!! This class can be very challenging but he teaches very well. All the exams are based upon the homework so be sure to do it otherwise you will be lost! I just wished he also taught Accounting 2.

Let's face it! Accounting is not exactly a fun class. Professor Thomsen makes it interesting though. You will have to study hard. Attend every class session. Be sure to do your homework and you'll do fine. Your grade will solely be based on four exams so there is a lot of pressure to do well on the tests. Tests 3 and 4 are the hardest.

Thomsen gives it to you straight in his lectures, no sugar coating. tests are easy if you've done the homework. i did way better on tests 3 and 4 than i did on the first two...got 140/140 on test 3 (ignore the review below about 'best student ever'). he gives no final exam so that's a BIG plus. he's WAY better than Foster.

Very through teacher. It's a tough class but if you do the homework and pay attention in class you will do well. This is not a scantron class and you will leave with a greater knowledge of accounting for it. I would highly recommend him.

Mr. Thomsen is an excellent professor, in fact the best I've taken in 70 units at Pierce. Don't expect to pass without doing work, but if you attend every class, ask questions and do the homework, you will pass. Homework is not graded, but is recommended for success. He covers HW and tests thoroughly. If you want learn accounting, take him!

He retired in 2014. One of the greatest Business professors on Pierce campus, or anywhere. He will be missed!
