Her lectures are short and to the point, the material is clearly defined she gives examples during lecture if needed and has a short quiz at the end to help make sure we have a clear understanding of material. She always reminds us of due dates for assignments, whats expected and helps in every step of the research paper.. Overall great teacher.

This class is basically just a big paper that you work on the entire semester completing small parts of the paper little by little. Professor Vela was extremely helpful, she makes this class easier and provides a lot of extra credit. She is also very quick to respond to any emails, definitely recommend her !!!!!!

Professor Vela was really helpful in class and helped you with any concepts you didn't understand, she is super straightforward with lectures. There is a quiz every day but they are easy as long as you read the textbook.

Although attendance isn't necessary, it is recommended since there are quizzes almost every meeting and valuable information to gain from the professor.

Overall she is a great professor. She explains things thoroughly and is available outside of class to help. Also, she gives great feedback for work to know how to do better for the final paper.

Professor Vela does an amazing job at making this course very organized and easy to follow. The expectations to follow is to take quizzes every time you attend class, which are easy to take as she gives us a brief review of each chapter before we take the quiz. In addition, expect to work in groups and given lots of extra credit opportunities :)

Her class was hard, but just because her content is hard. She would sometimes go a little fast. but if you told her you didn't get something, she would make sure to go over it and clarify any questions. So far, one of my favorite psych professors. She does quizzes daily on the book or lecture but if you pay attention, they should be easy.

The course is structured so that we have so many assignments and quizzes, but she makes them easy for the class to digest. She gives wonderful feedback on assignments and made the class fun!! She has quizzes over the textbook and lecture material to take attendance. She feels like a friend!

I've learned that this Psych Lab class is pretty challenging, although I'm glad I took it with Professor Vela! She's aware of the workload as she has taken the class herself. She did individual work although now things have changed into group work. There will be mainly group work. She's very attentive, easy to talk to. Would take her again!

By far the best professor I've had throughout my entire educational journey. She supports you every step of the way and is incredibly hands-on in her teaching approach. She's an excellent fit for kinesthetic learners or anyone with ADHD or ADD. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about her as a person, a professor, and course.

She always made sure we understood what we were being taught. Quizzes are over her lecture or APA manual chapters (there are cheap or free versions online). About two individual assignments (papers) and one big final paper that we build upon all throughout the semester so it wasn't hard.Very group-based class, lots of extra credit opportunities.

The material is tough but she does all she can to ensure that every student understands and has the opportunity to ask/resolve every question you might have. She grades hard but her feedback on assignments will help you with the final paper.

This semester I was going through a lot of with my family which is why my grade is where it's at.Her lectures aren't boring she knows what she's talking about and wants her students to also understand the material. Professor is really clear in her expectations and grading. However my only drawback for the class is that your grade is heavily impacted by the work of others since it consists of a lot of group work. If you pick a good group you will be fine if not your grade will suffer.

We had lecture/ textbook quizzes every day, but if you read the textbook and show up you'll be fine. This course is writing heavy but the professor gives good feedback to help you get a good grade. You work in a group throughout the semester as well.

Professor Vela is an exceptional teacher. She is understanding, lenient, and really does her best to make sure her students pass. Only required textbook is an APA book, but her lectures are clear enough where you don't really need to read it. It is a tougher course, but she really does her best to make it manageable to the best of her ability.

She really is a good professor. There is quizzes almost daily over lecture or chapter so be there. She does have group work which helps spread the work but also bad if group members are not showing up. There will be writing, and she is tough on grading. She is ALWAYS there to help or answer questions about assignments.

The content of the class is intimidating at first and can seem very overwhelming, but Professor Terue is very understanding and helpful with any questions you may have. As long as you put in the work at the beginning of the semester, the rest of the semester is very enjoyable and easy.

I've never paid as much attention in a class as I did in this one. The way that she exlained the terms helped a lot. There's a daily quiz of 5-10 questions, but they're easy if you pay attention. The teamwork can seem tedious, but professor Vela helped us every step of the way, so don't worry. I would definitely take her again.

Teddie was an AMAZING teacher. Although there was a lot of material to cover, she always made sure everyone understood. She also created a very chill environment, which made people more inclined to participate in class discussions. I have never been a strong writer, but she simplified things and made me feel more confident in my writing skills.

I am not interested in research based psychology, but professor vela made it super easy and honestly interesting at times! I would recommend taking her for lab, the paper is a pain (imo) but the criteria is clear and she's very helpful when it comes to writing and super knowledgeable!

The best professor by far here at UTSA, definitely some fun jokes/laughs in class, but times to get through all the material while still having plenty of time to answer any questions about what someone might have.
