Professor Ho is very entertaining and funny during lecture, however he goes pretty fast while lecturing so it's hard to completely understand what he is teaching. The class can be confusing so I definitely reccommend S/I, without it I would have no idea whats going on in class and it helped my grade go from a B to an A. TAKE SI!!!

very condescending when someone asks a question. hard to understand him due to a thick accent. Doesn't answer emails and messes up grades quite often. Quizzes periodically that are much more difficult than what we learn in the textbooks. Avoid him if you can. Very difficult to do well with him.

Wasn't as bad as expected. He does have a strong accent but I personally was able to understand him. He's nice and likes to tell stories of his family and past students. He also makes jokes to keep the students entertained. Seems like he really knows his chemistry. I would take him again, only if it's not Chem 140 :)

He expects us to already know the material before coming to class, so he speeds through lecture. He does have a thick accent but you learn to understand him. I wouldn't take him again, but he wasn't the absolute worst. He has some funny jokes but most of the time you don't really want to hear them. He only bases you grade off quizzes/tests.

Dr. Ho is one of the most hilarious professors I've ever had. He explains stuff in the form of jokes way which actually helps to retain the concept. I have never had a better professor for the lab and I wish I had taken my lecture with him too. He is a bit scary at first but trusts me that's superficial. Choosing him is the best thing you could do.

Dr. Ho is one of the best Chemistry professors in the whole department ngl. Idk where the salty comments are coming from but he's a funny af old guy, with a very interesting way of teaching through his humor. Sometimes I'd die laughing while I'm going through the same concept again at home. He is the best out there, do yourself a favor AND TAKE HIM

There's 7 quizzes total but he drops your 2 lowest scores. 3 exams + 1 cumulative final. He's really sweet and funny so I liked him a lot, but his lecturing was not very effective for me. He gives practice exams that really help with preparing for tests. I recommend making study groups and reading the textbook to help understand the material more.

Professor Ho is very sweet, but it took a while to comprehend his lectures as he uses a lot of metaphors and stories. Listen closely because he's trying to explain the concepts (most of the time). I recommend finding outside resources to supplement this course like Youtube, etc.

When I asked for clarification he often solved the whole problem for me which helped showed me where I went wrong. He is very funny and super helpful! Do yourself a favor, when you have a question ask it, he will be happy to give you the answer! Make sure to pay attention, he tends to move fast. Thanks Mr. Ho, never thought I could like Ochem lab

Awful lab TA. His grading is very inconsistent. My lab partner and I have put similar answers throughout the semester and he marked one of us down while the other got it correct. He is also very rude and condescending and has GIVEN UP on me and my lab partner when explaining what we were doing. He also has a thick accent that is hard to understand.

Did not enjoy this professor, has a very thick accent so you'll be confused throughout the semester. He's willing to help on the subject matter, but not very accessible. Although I did pass with a B , I taught ,myself the whole semester. If your not willing to put in the work yourself I would not suggest to take this class.

I love Professor Ho. He's so funny and tries to make his lectures easy to understand. He does has an accent, but it's not thick enough to not understand. He is very helpful, but very blunt, so if you can't handle that don't take him. He doesn't really respond to his email, but everything is done in class so talk to him in class.

Professor Ho is very nice and tries to make organic chemistry fun. But if you need lots of outside help and guidance, that will not be provided. Lectures are hard to follow along and grade is only based on quizzes and exams. No homework. If you can teach yourself material, you will be okay.

His explanations before labs are very helpful, he does a demonstration before you start. Although he can be quite blunt when you ask him questions, he usually either answers them or just does the lab for you. Definitely prepare for the quizzes by reading all the assigned materials.

Professor Ho is very kind and tries to make his lectures funny. But, overall his jokes were a tad tiring and he would always go off on tangents. Lectures did not help me much. The exams are textbook based with a handful of questions pulled straight out of it. You really have to understand concepts and practice to pass the class.

Very respectful and humorous at the beginning of the semester, but slowly he became more hostile and demeaning towards students during lab. Clear favoritism for certain students but yelled at others throughout the course. Lectures were unclear, but tried to make things fun. Being lab with someone who doesn't support you was just draining

bro is actually a GOATED lab instructor compared to the other ones. it's a shame that he's retiring but if he ever teaches again, you GOTTA take him. he's extremely funny and always helps out the students in lab. sometimes he does part of the procedure for you and will help you with the report questions if you ask. just take the prelabs seriously.
