Sure there are a few design flaws. for example, the distribution of grade points need changing. but after all, it is his first DSC240 class, I am sure it will be a lot better for the next term. Compared to many prior DSC240 classes, i think this is the best useful one. NOt too hard but useful. I learned Excel skills and analyse some business cases.

Mr T makes a lot of mistakes per class he does however figure them out eventually or email you the answer later. If you have a MAC then your this class is much more time consuming. Thaddeus Konar is one of those teachers that is somewhat trying too hard. He tries to be stern and rigid, yet he falters when it comes to keeping policies. The class itself is not hard, but his teaching method makes it difficult for students to understand as he goes through examples quite hastily. His humor is not the best either.

i LOVED him as a teacher however the class itself that the university offers is a complete joke. It is impossible to be a good dsc 240 teacher because the subject itself is worthless. konar is the man though!!!

Konar is a great guy, materials he teaches are material that could be easily learn on textbook, he is more like a person who test/grade your ability to understand the material. He is changing the format of the class next fall term, so it might get better.

He is a nice man,though his lecture is a little bit hard to digest. There are just too much details to learn well about Excel. He prefer students to learn by themselves rather than teach them everything. He would like to help you as long as you word hard . He does not like those who leave during his lecture or don't show up at all.

Eithor come prepared to lab section, or learn how to figure things out fast. He doesnt like it when you ask quesions to issues already answered. But if you meet him halfway, he will meet you back. A lot of complaint people have with him, are issues that are not is fault, but rather the student.

Aside from what others feel about DSC 240, I thought this was a very informational course. Sure the lectures sometimes felt a little disconnected, but the material and overall scope of the course was very satisfying. Although I had prior experience with Excel, I felt Thaddeus' job teaching the course was sufficient enough for anybody to learn.

I see a lot of negative comments about his teaching, but I do not think he is a bad teacher. He is really passionate about his class. The problem is not really him, but the way the class is formatted, most people do not want to spend time solving excel problems.He is a very helpful and nice instructor if you ask questions.

Konar is very good at what he does, and is also a very nice person with a sense of humor. He gets a bad repuation because many students slack off, and he doesn't tolerate laziness. All of the negative comments he gets below are probably from students who slacked off and are mad at him for getting a bad grade. Definately a great teacher.

Simple class as long as you are willing to put in the time outside of class. You just have to practice the problems prior to the discussion section. He is a good teacher with a different sense of humor.

The class is now called BA 240. I took the course the first term after it was remodeled so there were a few glitches that had to be worked out. Konar knows excel very well and its good at telling you exactly what you need to know. The skills you learn in the course will definitely be applicable to other classes as well as personal projects

It is a very useful class

Professor Konar has some interesting stories and life experiences (check out his blog), and overall the course is quite well organized. If you are not a "computer" person then set aside plenty of time for this class. Since taking DSC 240 I have used many of the Excel skills learned in class. Overall, this was a very valuable course!

This course is not difficult if you put the effort into it, most of the work is just common sense. Professor obviously loves teaching, go to his office hours and he will help you more than you could imagine. I learned a great skill through this class and you will too if you put in a little effort.

You can learn a lot of useful information from this class that is very applicable. However, you need to be willing to put in the time and effort to do well. The problem is not with the professor, he is very passionate about what he teaches and is approachable. Students that didn't do well didn't take the time to read or go to class.

I feel like most of the people who are writing negative comments talking about the class more than Thaddeus. He is a great teacher but he does make you carry your own load in the class and doesnt baby his students which some people feel is not fair. The class is difficult but if you work hard you will fine. Great Teacher in my opinion.

I think DSC240 is a very interesting class. Someone says that Konar made a lot of mistakes on classes; I think it is very common things for everyone to make mistakes when using Excel; because computer is not as smart as us, making mistakes are not avoidable. Also, Konar is a really good teacher. He is not as strict as you look.

Overall he's a great instructor, teaches in a great manner and makes sure his students know what he is talking about. Just make sure to do the assigned practices and you'll ace his class easily =)

Great Professor, however, you need to have at least some experience with excel to do well in this class. Quizes are a pain since you don't have time to think but only 30 sec to click

I really like this class and professor. I think DSC 240 is the most useful class I have learned so far. I can use the knowledge to deal with datas that usually make me mad. Thank you for your teaching.

The class was great and the professor did a great job. The overall structure of the class is a little shaky and the entire class should be in the lab but overall Professor Konar did a great job.

Thaddeus is a great professor. He is always trying to make this class better. Even though this class is very intense, one thirds of students end up with an A. So the hard-work finally paid off.

Thaddeus is a very knowledgeable and helpful professor. It is a challenging class but it teaches you many skills that are extremely applicable to the real business world. I highly recommend Prof Konar for this course!

Professor Konar was one of the most helpful and available teachers I've had thus far at our university. Though the coursework was challenging, Thaddeus made sure that you'd succeed if you put in enough effort.

Konar is a very nice teacher, although the DSC 240 is a really so boring but important class. Konar's advice is right, the most important thing you need do is just try the case following the textbook before class. Do this carefully and everyone can get an A

Konar is a fair instructor and you get back what you put into his class. He is also very knowledgeable on the subject and was always available and helpful in answering any questions.

Thaddeus Konar is a great teacher! If you do the work and go to class, you are going to learn about the material and do well. If you are respectful and not lazy, the class should be fun and somewhat easy!

Konar was a fine teacher. The class was a little slow but it's one of those classes everyone has to take to get into the business school, and you just have to do it. So there were a lot of freshman still acting like high schoolers, hazing the teacher, acting out in class, talking when he was trying to teach, messing with the iClickers..grow up!

The class material was hard at first, but after four weeks and I got it. I don't like the lecture class. However,the professor has high standers and thus push me study harder.

This class was quite challenging but I could tell Thaddeus was trying to improve the program to make it more fair. Since I took the class I have asked others about it and he really has done several key things to improve the class such as adding a lab time in the computer lab. Therefore I believe he is a great professor.

For this class, students have to do big effort,any complain does not help.

I took it long time ago. It was a struggle. But the knowledge you learn is definite valuable. He is funny sometime lol. But his exam is very hard ;(

Knowledgeable, but sometimes difficult to understand. The class was fair if you did the reading and paid attention. Way too many people acting like highschoolers and expecting an easy grade.

this class is not difficult if you read a book before going to class,pay attention to his lecture. All the answers are on the book plus your true understanding on the subject. I got A+ without strong previous background in excel...

This class is pretty easy. I f you go to lab and ask the TAs, they will help you on the homework!

Thaddeus is extremely knowledgeable with respect to Excel and databases. He's very helpful and makes class fun with jokes. He encourages students to learn the material by using Excel with trial and error. Many students complained and didn't want to do the footwork needed in order to master Excel. He's an excellent instructor. I give him an A+!

Class was quite simple, I got A+. I love his jokes: 20 pound bike and 20 pound lock is a 40 pound bike.

He has a funny/sometimes awkward sense of humor, keeps class interesting. Some parts of the class were difficult but he is very helpful and not a bad professor at all. I'd recommend him.

Professor Konar was so incredibly helpful during office hours. Excel by itself is difficult to learn in lecture but the he made it easy to follow, if I had any questions, he would entertain them during his office hours. I could even ask the same questions twice & he would joke about it and give me a clear and thorough explanation. Konar is great!

Great class he was funny and passionate sad he isn't teaching business anymore

He's an awesome guy, and his stature reminds of that of a Viking. He's a funny, nice guy that respects all students and is more than willing to help students and take input from them as well. His website on Piazza is very helpful and he often replies to you within an hour of asking for help on the "class forum" great guy overall!

Easy class, he post examples you can look at when doing projects. Important to go to class so you know what you're actually doing not just copying when it comes to coding. Also if you don't go to class you will struggle on the quizzes and midterm.
