Thune Le is a very good teacher who teaches a difficult subject. Sometimes has problems with his accent.
TOOK THE CLASS ONLINE, VERY DIFFICULT TO DO ONLINE. HARD TESTS
He's awesome and we always got out early. You don't have to buy books or anything. He's an awesome teacher for econ. I got an easy A.
he's funny.
the best economics teacher ever!!!!
The Best teacher ever!!!! Very understanding. Do need to study a little bit,he gives notes that are pretty much related to the tests, so it is no that hard. He does not require a book for any of his classes. He is a very smart guy. Knows his stuff. It is a little hard to understand his at first but you get use to his accent.
Mr Le found a great mix of humor, real life, and fact to teach this topic. He was wonderful. I would recommend him to anyone!
You get out of this class what you put into it. Energetic teacher. open for help. I got an "A".
He is the best teacher ever! He is so funny and so nice. He explains things very well, and you get to use a page of notes for the exams. You get out of class early all the time. This isn't a class you can breeze through, you still have to go, but he makes it interesting and clear. He is probably the best teacher that I've ever had in college.
He was an awsome teacher! Though for the first couple of classes he was difficult to understand, you get used to his accent and he is really funny
I took his online macro-econ class. Very easy. Once a week there is a discussion question to respond to. This takes 15 minutes a week. There is a test once every 3 weeks. Open book. You have two attempts to take the exact same test. Only requires 84% or better for an A.
First week of class you'll be very frustrated because Le's accent is heavy. But later on you'll get used to it. If you don't understand what he says, just ask. Didn't use a textbook - he tells you not to buy it. Study from notes and that's a B or better. Lets you get a note card for tests, always a plus.
I took macroeconomics, and it was super easy! I don't really understand economics well, but Mr. Le focused on just the important details that he felt we needed to know. He has a strong accent and is a funny guy. He grades on a curve- he practically gives everyone an A.
Great teacher. A must take teacher at Century.. He crack up alot of jokes. Get to use half a page note for in class quizzes. Love the teacher. Made me understand econ. Very interesting. Should of took this online but it is ok. He jokes was funny. Grade on a curvy. so i got an A..
Mr. Le is one of the best teachers I have had and would recommend him to anyone. He does everything he can to help the students. Thank you Mr.le
Awesome teacher! I wish he taught more classes! He only teaches what he needs for the night and then you're let out early most of the time. The tests can be hard but he lets you use notes. Overall I've learned a lot in this class, more than any other econ course because I actually learn how to use econ outside of the classroom!
very laid back teacher, grades on a curve
If you're looking for an easy A look no further. Your grade is composed as follows: 75% on tests and 25% online assignments. I took the online section and it's likely the easiest class I've taken at Century. As long as you earn 84% on tests and 82% on assignments, you're guaranteed an A. You will also gain invaluable knowledge on economics.
Thanh is an amazing professor. I recommend him to anyone who has to take economics. He explains the material greatly and he is always willing to help you out. Plus, for each quiz you take you get to use a 1/2 sheet of paper and for each test you get to use 1 sheet of paper. On top of that, on tests his curve is 82% and up is an A. I learned so much
Very laid back and funny teacher. He really knows his stuff, teaches everything from memory. Take his classes!
Knows his stuff! Makes class fun and entertaining. The first day he told us to return our books because they were overpriced and he would give us all the information we need.
Great teacher... i took the class as a 6 week program and it was a breeze theres no way to fail unless you dont show up and do the test and quiz... you get to use notes. he had no final.... no need for text book he'll teach you everything. and hes hillarious. minor fault heavy accent, you'll get over it. Learned alot. best part NO HOMEWORK.
I had her as an online instructor. Easy class, but when I had questions, she did not reply back to my e-mails.
Great teacher, was really interesting and had a good sense of humor, overall its a must take class!
Wasn't really that hard, he had a good sense of humor and will be a breeze if you pay attention since the concepts are clear.
The class was very fun because he has a great sense of humor. Unfortunately, we only had class one day a week, and it was a review class. Everything else was posted online. The exams are a little hard, but lots of the questions are repeats of the same basic idea. The class might be a little hard if you don't study the online materials.
I have taken two courses from Tahn Le and would encourage others to take courses from him. He takes the chapters slowly and only covers the necessary material. I felt as things were getting complicated, he would dumb down the material so students were passing. It also seemed like his exams were form years back and he hadn't looked at them since
after a day you can understand him better. basically he just lectures about some fundamental stuff but mostly just current things going on in the economy. you end up learning the basics, which aren't much for micro if you took macro. great class though! the curve is crazy.
A bit hard to understand at first, but he has a great sense of humor. Always kept us laughing! The online tests are a little hard, as are the aplia quizzes. Instead of MWF classes, he only holds class on fridays. It's like a review day. Just skim over the chapters before you take the tests (after the review lecture), and you should do fine.
Prof. Le was an easy but good instructor. In the begining he was hard to understand but after a week it was easier. 80 is an A and there is no need for the books. Come to class and copy the notes on the board and you should be fine. The great thing is he lets you use a half sheet of notes for quizes and a whole sheet front and back for tests.
Took his Macroeconomics class online. Fairly easy, grades on 10 online assignments and 5 exams of equal weight. All material from the textbook and his notes.
Good teacher!!! if u are in class all quizes and tests are directly from his notes.Never opened the textbook and got an A
His class fills up fast for a reason: he makes econ easy to understand. He dismiesses class ealry but you can always stay back and ask questions. He cracks jokes but gets the point across. Listen to what he says the first day of class and you'll be fine. The cheat sheet is helpful but be careful for those majoring in business so you can recall late
I took this class online. The material was pretty easy to understand and the exams and quizzes seemed fair. He put up extra content/explanations online that I found helpful.
One of the easiest classes I've take at Century. He actually yet you use a piece of paper to use for your notes when you take a quiz.
extremely easy class.Exams are hard, quizzes are so easy and you are able to use notes. everything is graded on a curve, this class is impossible to fail, everyone should come out with an a or b if you attend class. NO HOMEWORK, DONT BUY THE BOOK!
He goes through material very fast and it can be hard to keep up. His exams can be hard, but you can use notes. Quizzes are easy. He is more of a mentor and can help you out with finances and saving money. He is super funny and has a lot of really good stories. If you attend class and take good notes you can get an a or b.
Easy A!! Take it.
First thing to know is that he won't use the text book AT ALL. He writes everything you need to know on the board. Write down everything he writes word for word. He usually fills time with awesome stories of when he first came to the US. Quizzes/Exams are open note, so you're golden. Also - tests are all he grades on, easy A/B.
Easiest grader I've ever had.
Online class was very easy. Weekly assignments based on textbook chapters (which greatly varied in length) and 5 exams throughout the semester. Each exam was graded on a curve. I think he graded our final grade on a curve as well, because I received and A which was surprising to me.
The Aplia assignments are pretty easy, but the tests can sometimes be hard. I took both Micro and Macro, but was definitely more helpful during my Micro class. Not bad, not great, just average.
Made everything very easy to understand in his class. Great teacher
Coolest teacher ever. Hands down. Funny guy and easy grader.
Mixed feelings here. It's entirely possible to not really know anything and still pass... so, gaining anything out of his classes is your responsibility. Otherwise, Mr. Le is very knowledgeable and will always help you if needed. I would totally take him again
This teacher was very helpful in helping me understand my mistakes. At times he talks fast but if you listen in you can hear what he is saying. He has a set format from the beginning 6 quizzes, 3 exams including final, he does curve but no retakes. His lectures are averagely about a half hour. He is a very nice person, he does respond to emails.
Sometimes he was hard to understand in his lectures. Good teacher though and very easy class. Very simple and straight forward. I ended up with a B. Just pay attention in class so you can understand him. If you ask him questions he will help you.
Lectures were increasingly sloppy as the semester progressed. What irks me about this is his lectures went from kinda teaching the class to straight up giving us the answers to his testsquizzes (you can use notes). I wrote bs answers on a section in a quiz and still received points. Meaningless A+. Side note: this class attracts a lot of PSEO kids
Awsome class. Just show up, take notes. And take the practice tests. You will pass very easily. He tells related stories and jokes too. It was lots of fun
He is a good teacher when it comes to story telling about jobs and funny scenarios. As for economics in the specific regard to learning the topic I feel he has too many jobs on his plate and tries to teach the bare minimum. The questions on the test will sometimes not even have the material we covered and guessing is required. Frustrating.
I took macroecon online, which isn't a very easy subject for me to begin with. When I emailed about questions on understanding the material he offered to let me sit in on some of his classes. I don't recommend taking this class online unless you have a descent understanding of the subject.
simple direction to follow through. As long as you do your work, you'll pass at least with a B or up.
His lectures were very entertaining. He curved the tests up so it was pretty easy to pass them. He lets you have a page of notes for all of his tests which was very helpful. You need to show up to class to get all the notes because he doesn't use the textbook ever and he is usually more willing to bump grades up if you showed up to class regularly.
I took Microeconomics online. Pretty easy class, although I didn't get much out of it. Homework assignment once a week and 5 midterms. Very easy to get an A if you put in the effort and complete the assigments.
Took him online for Macroeconomics. The homework was very straightforward and clear, and the tests were fair. He is not organized - no schedule for the semester. If you do the assignments and make an effort on the tests you will do fine.
I am taking this course online, his grades make no sense, rarely if ever updated. He posts power-points online that are taken directly from and produced by the online textbook company, he doesn't post any lectures online or anything. I honestly think he put in less than an hour of work putting this course together. Easy to pass but a waste of $$$
Mr. Le is a great instructor. He's kind of hard to understand which English is his second language but he understand Macro ECON inside & out. He tell stories of his experiences. Take notes. Use notes for test. Test is straight forward. Practice test on D2L is helpful. Curving the grades. Possibly get a A or B+ in his class.
I took this class online and loved it! The teacher always gave good feedback and helped with any questions I had.
All assignments are online as well as exams (open book). Although his slides are a little vague and not as helpful as I was hoping, passing this course shouldn't be too hard if you spend a some time reading the chapters. Pretty straightforward professor.
He is a caring prof and wants you to do well, easy A if you come to class and take notes, you get to use cheat sheets on quizzes and exams, exams are multiple choice. Has a unique way of teaching and makes econ relatable to real life and he shares interesting stories. Accent is tough to understand first week but you will get used to it fast.
His Econ classes are mostly engineered by Cengage. I do my work based on announcements in D2L. He never mentioned exam 2, so I didn't realize the due date had passed. Then he announced the last exam but never announced the last Aplia assignment so I had to go in and take it before the semester was over. You don't need an instructor for this course
He doesn't require you to buy textbook so you have to come to class every day and take notes. He lets you use a half page of notes on quizzes-6 total and a whole page notes on tests-3 total. He doesn't put any grades in D2L so you have to keep record of your own progress in the class. No extra credit. Grade is made up of tests, quizzes & group work
The professor was hilarious this semester, the only thing I hated was that I could barely understand what he was saying half of the time. He writes and talks way to fast to keep up, I honestly dont even remember what I learned which was frustrating. Use caution and be advised.
I took Mr. Le this fall and even though he was funny, I felt rushed whenever I would talk to him. he would rush through his notes to where i didnt fully understand. His accent is VERY, VERY, VERY thick making it hard to understand him. I probably would recommend another teacher for Econ.
I enjoyed taking his class online. For the most part he was pretty organized and straightforward. Occasionally he would mess up posting the right homework assignments, but after attempting to contact him through email, it was usually fixed. Overall, he seems like a pretty good teacher my only struggle was trying to contact him and sort things out.
I did not learn anything from this teacher, he would barely teach; just have us the textbook, and the tests were so unclear
Easy grader. Show up to class and take good notes and you'll be fine for all the quizzes and exams as he allows cheat sheets. Tests and quizzes matter because there's no homework and only 5 group work that you could finish in class. Though he never took attendance, going to class would be beneficial because I personally never used the online book
This class wasn't terrible for doing Macro online. You take a few tests that gives you 2 hours and you get 2 tries. Google might be a useful tool in the test and all the powerpoints. Good class though
If you show up and take notes, you will pass this class no problem. Mr. Lee will often go off on personal tangents telling you about his life while making the whole class laugh. I often times looked forward to this class in my schedule and I'm very happy I took it with Thahn Lee. His accent is a little heavy, but you get used to it in no time.
Took an online course with the guy. Never met him. Self studied and got the A. Can't complain.
If your taking an Online Economics course like Macro/Micro/Stat for Business etc. Take them with him. His assignments are fairly easy and very manageable so are the weekly quizzes.
He posts lectures on D2L. Each week you have to do an assignment which is pretty easy and you get 3 tries per question. The tests are open notes, you have 2 hours to complete it and you have 2 attempts but I never needed to use the 2nd one. You can email him if you have questions and even though Ive never met him he seems pretty nice and laid back
Took his online microeconomics class. He barely posts on D2L but he responded fast to my emails. Just do the course work every week and you should be fine. He also allows 2 attempts for exams!!
This professor is amazing! He only gives an assignment to do for each week and requires you to read only a little bit of the textbook per week. I don't have to spend days studying at all for his class. He only gives about four tests and a final. A bonus is that he gives you two attempts on the test and choose the highest score between the two. GL!
Class taken fully online due to COVID. Seemed like a nice guy- responded to emails within a day and posted optional video lectures/powerpoints. One chapter/assignment per week, test every few weeks. Test is open book, 2 attempts, w/ two hours to complete 50 (at most) multiple choice questions. Assignment gives you 3 attempts at each question.
I took this class over this past summer and then transferred it to the college I'm currently attending. Overall, this class was graded clearly, not too hard of a workload for a summer class, and the expectations of the class were clearly stated, so it was easy to follow. I did miss quite a few assignments but still passed which is great. Good prof.
I loved this class! He was very sweet, the only thing I would recommend is making sure you study for the exams. The homework would only take me an hour a week and every other week was an exam.
I honestly didn't read the textbook or watch the lectures and got a B+, easy class. His assignments let you try each question 3 times and you take the highest score.
There are weekly assignments that gives you 3 tries for each question and takes the highest score. Exams are every other week and open book and gives you 2 hours to complete them. They're multiple choice questions so it's not too hard. He also responds fast if you email him with any questions.
Professor Le is wonderful, as long as you're at least somewhat self-motivated. There is weekly reading and homework, as well as 5 (I believe?) exams. The homework and tests are how your grade is calculated. Macroeconomics is by no means a simple subject, but the book Professor Le uses is fairly understandable, and he also posts lecture videos.
Professor Le is awesome. His lectures are very interesting and the powerpoints are helpful. The homework is harder than the exams. As long as you do what is required and try your best you should get an A or B.
This class was much easier than I expected. The hardest part were the homework assignments in Mind Tap. 5 Exams in total, questions are easy though. In all assignments and quizzes, google is your friend. I learned a lot. There was not a lot of communication between Thanh Le and I, but he seemed nice and straightforward.
Mr. Le is an incredible professor. His lectures helped me understand the course really well and everything in the textbook is on the homework and tests. He is lenient when it comes to missing assignments and he replies to emails relatively fast. One thing I would recommend is getting ready to read and take notes for this class to succeed.
He record lectures and has a presentation slide. I used those instead of reading the book. 1 homework a week, there is a total of 5 quizzes. It's a more relaxing class in my opinion.
This is the guy you want for economics classes. Very easy to understand and has a great way of describing things to make them easier to understand. Homework assignments were short, but made you proficient at the material. Tests were an absolute breeze if you knew the stuff. Overall great professor.
Super quick weekly assignments with an exam every few weeks. Homework took 1-3 hours a week max, I just learned as I did it since you get three attempts at every question. You get two attempts for every exam. I recommend looking at the lecture notes he uploads and the chapter study guide in MindTap to review.
I took Microeconomics with Professor Thanh Le online, it was a very easy class. I learned a lot about economics with no stress. There were weekly homework assignments for accuracy but you get 3 attempts on each question. There are only 5 exams (no midterms or finals), each with 2 attempts. The textbook was online. Overall, easy to get an A.
Easy work, chill professor, gets the point across.
Professor Le was super understanding and responded to emails very quickly. The class itself wasn't too difficult, you had 5 tests that made up 500/600 points the whole semester and 100 homework points so it was fairly test-heavy. If you read the textbook and did the assignments you would do fine.
I took microeconomics with Professor Le, the class was easy. Very straightforward: weekly notes/lecture posted and homework on the online textbook (up to 15 questions, 3 attempts, due Sunday). There were 5 exams, two attempts on each. I had an 88%, so I emailed him, he simply just gave me an A. Overall I would recommend his course, he was great!
Literally an amazing professor. Super kind, wholesome, and understanding of everyone's situations. Would 100% take him again!
he has a very strong accent that made it hard to understand the video lectures, but the online textbook + slideshows made the content easy despite that. my advice is take the tests on thursdays and then study for missed questions/content and retake on saturday or sunday because you get two attempts on the exact same test!
Overall good. Weekly assignments were easy and didn't take too long, but the tests were pretty difficult, and they were really the only thing that goes into the gradebook. Some of the topics weren't covered the best and we weren't always given videos to go along with the weekly notes power points, but there's lots of practice problems available.
He was a great professor. I took the online class and each week we took around an hour worth of notes and then a quiz with that chapter. We also had tested every few weeks, but they were pretty easy and straightforward. I liked how each was the same in the sense of what we were doing, and it was never confusing.
Professor Le's ECON1021 class was manageable with the weekly assignments and exams. The course content was straightforward, and tools like Unstuckstudy and the textbook helped me stay on top of the material.
Not much conversation with him, but he's very direct with the way he manages his class. Only one assignment a week, due every Sunday, and an exam every few weeks. Provides 10-20 minute video lectures every week, but has a pretty thick accent. Just do the homework and exams, and you'll get a good grade.
his macro class was very easy! homework every week, but 3 attempts on each question (not a lot of questions either), best score taken. test every few weeks with 2 attempts, and best score taken for that too! as long as you do the notes, you'll do well. he also has videos if you want to understand the content better. not a time-consuming class!
