Heavy accent and difficult to understand. His tests are not based on the book, and lecture is extremely boring
cant understand a word he says. tests, quizes, homework all difficult. too much work for anyone unless you love math. tries to help, but hard to understand.
Thick accent and rigid course schedule, high expectations for a general ed course. Take this class at a community college NOT at OU!
Very hard to understand. Thick accent. Lectures are slow and boring. Hard exams and doesn't go over grades... don't take him!!!
the worst prof ever. says things are in notes when they're not. gives tons of handouts that are hand-written and hard to understand. don't even try to understand what he says - accent way to bad. don't take him PERIOD
While he is very nice he is extremely hard to understand. He gives you handouts of the lecture but his hand-writing is about as good as his English. I dropped this course because I couldnt understand a word he said except "you call me theo" on t
I had no idea what he was saying most of the time, the homework was hard, the tests were hard, there were VOCAB QUIZZES which were a joke. but for some odd reason the exam was super easy...forget taking this class if u want a decent grade and a good GPA
I think Theo is a great teacher and wants everyone to pass his class. Statistics is hard no matter who you take. If you try in his class you will pass. He speaks with an accent but is always willing to repeat himself if you don't understand him.
Ogunyemi is a great teacher. He is generous with his office hour time for those that benefit from 1-on-1 teaching. The only reason I passed stats the 1stI took it was because of his dedication to his students and I am really terrible at math.
Very nice, patient prof. Hard to understand though, speaks with an accent. Willing to help after class and during office hours, flexible. However, he explains things the same way he does in class so it doesn't really help. Hard class.
I had him in Spring of 2002. Theo was tough but I managed to get by with a 2.8 somehow. Always answered questions personally and during class. I found him to be far more clear than most of the other math/business teachers at OU.
I felt exteremly lost in his class. The book for the course is very poorly written, and he teaches without much explanation. Even if you attend all of the classes, he isn't much help. It is a lot of work and high expectations for a gen ed course.
theo is a great teacher;understandable accent, but bad writing.go to him anytime you need help and he is soooo willing, the demand are high for the class-lots hw; to pass you need to be organized because he gives tons of handouts; he's always on time
GET OUT NOW! I'm excellent in math and couldn't understand anything that he said. His quizzes are all fill in the blank and you have maybe 10 minutes to complete them. He doesn't speak clear at all and evertthing that I learned was in the Academic Skills Center. Don't take his course.
Get out of his class NOW! You can't understand a word he says, and he goes through material really fast. Gives pointless vocab quizzes, and his tests were handwritten and hard to see. DO NOT TAKE HIM
he was really good... a little hard to understand at times but you get used to him. I'm really bad at math and I ended up with a 3.8 in his class! The tests are easy if you get the past tests off the website. Alot of the times the multiple choice are the same and usually he lets you take the quizzes home b/c we run out of time. i would take him!
Prof. O is a good professor who will help you through anything if you go see him during his office hours. However, it is difficult to understand his accent and his tests can be hard if you miss one class. I got like a 3.2, but I worked my BUTT off. If you're willing to do the same...give him a try. If not, try some other prof or school.
Quite possibly the worst professor I have ever had. Told me he didn't have time for my emails. Even had the audacity to give us quizzes with 10 mins left in class(that required at least 25 mins to complete it), and told us not to be rude and hurry up so the next class could come in. What an idiot!
POOR GRADING. I did well on a test, and he graded me low, and then another person in the class did poorly and he graded high. No reason, and when I asked him about it, he said he would fix it and never did. Often lost my papers, hard to understand, very nice man though...

This guy was nice, nothing wrong with him personally. The class, however, is another story. This**** is useless and the class is hard as hell. Why is this required for business students? He does many examples and drags on work, adding extra work that isn't necessary. Don't take this class here. Avoid this class and professor like the plague.
Often hard to follow, not very interesting and reluctant to help during office hours
Horrible! Don't really need to say much more. You're better off getting a tutor and showing up for test and turning in HW. I enjoy math and was really looking forward to this class. He's hard to understand and jumps around in the book alot. He seems like a nice guy and his laugh cracks me up, it's a function hehehehehehe
This class was horrible! It could have been taught much better. Ogunyemi just gave us hundreds upon hundreds of pages of SAS output and then for our homework assignments said "mimic my SAS code to do your assignment." Then every time it seems as if the code you needed wasn't given. And he wasn't helpful in resolving the issue.
He is a very smart guy but he doens't present information that well. He just kind of goes around in circles trying to explain something that you don't even need to know for the tests.
He does not make sense, is hard to understand, and overall have no structure in how he teaches.
This guy, although quite friendly, should not be allowed to teach PERIOD! Difficult to understand, not clear on grading, asks you to explain things that even the book doesn't go into that much detail on. Avoid him, don't take him, you'll end up retaking the class again like me. OU should do us all a favor and fire him before more students fail!!
Horrible! There is no question that he knows the information but he does not know how to teach it. The class had no structure. He jumped all around the sections and that makes it hard to follow information. His accent also makes it hard to understand him. Don't waste your tuition money on this guy, chances are you will have to take the class over.

WORST teacher/class ever! DO NOT take this class unless you are great at math. He doesnt speak english clearly, and his notes were terrible. Worst class I have had since I began college.
The absolute worst, never take him...EVER. Didnt learn a thing/undestand a thing because of its accent.
DO NOT TAKE ANY CLASS WITH THIS PROFESSOR! He didn't even teach his class the last 3 sections of the book and students were learning it the night before the exam with me and my SI. He's a nice guy, but that doesn't mean he can teach, which he cannot. How this guy still has a job is beyond me! If you have to take MTH 122, take Mullaly instead!
Don't listen to the negative comments, definitely hard to understand professor at first, but his english seemed to get much better. he really knows his stuff and knows how to teach it. he really wants his students to pass.class was super easy, i ended up with a 4.0 just need to attend class and do the homework and you'll be fine.
He is definetly hard to understand at first, BUT you do get used to it. His hand writing is clear and he definetly cares about the class doing well. He is available during office hours and by appointment and is willing to help you with whatever it is you are having a hard time. Overall I think he is not as bad as everyone says he is.
Wanna stick your GPA in a meat grinder? Take him and watch as a 4.0 become a 0.4.
Great & cool.
His accent doesn't get in the way too much and he's fairly understandable. He does not use the book or follow the syllabus, instead he hands out 1000 handouts, some badly handwritten, and you are supposed to learn using those. The test are a little confusing, but he tries to help at the end when he sees everyone is failing.
"are you following what I am saying?"... Interesting teacher, not as hard to understand as some say, Just make sure to do the homework... it is worth a higher grade than you may think.
He's a good teacher. He has an african accent which was hard to understand him in the beginning but you def get used to it. Hwrk is easy and worth a fair amount of pts make sure you buy the solution manual though. He gives you a review sheet for each test which is realy nice, just study it and u should do okay on tests. 3 tests
Class isn't mandatory, but some days he would take attendance. Accent isn't too hard to understand, sometimes quite funny actually how he pronounces some words. Class is quite boring, as he does the examples straight from the book. I missed a week and noticed that we hadn't made any real progress.
I thought Theo was a good teacher. I took the same class at MCC and failed, but passed it at OU. He is always available in his office if you need help, and had a nice curve for the class(60% = C) He has a slight accent but he was still easy to understand. Attend class, do the HW, and you should pass. Group Proj. tho. This guy should get a raise.
awesome math teacher. will help you no matter what and sit with you until you understand how to do it. accent is tough at first but easy after the first day or so. if you are worried about taking 122 for SBA take theo!
People who cannot acknowledge a good professor reflect upon themselves certain inadequacies. This is a thoroughly fair man -- and hilarious.
his willingness to do as much needed to help you understand makes up for his hard to understand accent and general disorganization. His practice exams were JUST like the real ones, i am awful at math and got over 100% on all exams by making sure i could do the practice exams
I took his class for 121 and 122 and got a 4.0 in both. I really like math so that helped. The practice exams are EXACTLY the same as the tests, including the final. He gives a lot of homework that is worth a lot of points. He is extremely willing to help until you understand. And he randomly laughs in the middle of lectures... hilarious
Theo is actually a good math teacher. He definitely makes class enjoyably because he is simply hilarious. Laughs in the middle of class out of nowhere and pronounces words funny. But all in all he is a really good teacher. If you pay attention in class, do homework, and do practice exams you should be fine.
Word to the wise: Number the handouts as he gives them so you can refer to them in your notes! He gives so many handouts my notebook had tripled in size by the end of semester - easy to get lost among them. Theo, if you're reading this - number your handouts and refer to them by number, your students will love you for it.
He's a pretty funny guy, although unintentionally. Laughs randomly about things no one else finds funny, and picking up on his little idiosyncrasies made class slightly more enjoyable. He knows his stuff no doubt, but stats is a very dry subject for someone with no interest in it, and that's the same no matter who your professor is.
Dont take Theo. He is difficult to understand, his notes are impossible to read. He does give a lot of handouts which are nice, but other than that, the class was miserable. He has good intentions as a teacher, however that does not make up for the comments I made above. If you struggle with math, this class will be your worst nightmare.
First off, hes got a big accent. If you can get past that it'll be easy. He is one of the few professors that tries very hard to make topics understandable. He attempts to "link" every topic to each other to have it make more sense. If you try to listen to what he says and really put in a effort you will pass easily.
He is a terrible teacher, hes impossible to understand, his practice tests and quizzes aren't like the real tests. He is basically the worst math teacher Oakland has to offer.
Nice, he will try and help students in need. He tends to think Math comes easy to everyone and for some reason randomly laughs at equations. His accent makes him tough to understand and we all know MTH isn't Oakland's specialty. He does care about his student and if your on the verge of pass or fail if you put in the effort he will bump your grade
Hard to understand, class will put you to sleep. Take notes, gives surprise quizzes on the notes so attend class daily. Do the homework and stay ahead and easy 3.0
It is very hard to understand him so I would recommend sitting in the front of class. He always asks "Do I make myself clear?" and everyone just nods even though no one has a clue. I've taken Calc in highschool so right now its a bit of review. Those who havent taken Calc before will definitely have trouble b/c he acts like everyone has taken calc
HIS ACCENT IS UNDERSTANDABLE. The course material is only difficult if you don't pay attention in class. He gives many great examples and is humorous. He truly cares about the success rate in his class and will work with students who care to succeed. GREAT TEACHER!
I really liked this professor and this class. He really cares about his students understanding the material. He always encourages students to come to his office hours. His laugh is hilarious. There are 3 tests, many in class quizzes, and HW due before each test. He teaches exactly what is on the tests and I highly recommend him
Good Human Being but you will be fighting to just pass this class from day one
Theo is overall a good person with good intentions. He only tries to help and I am sure he is quite the professional in any other business related work he may do outside of school. Although Theo belongs to a group of great people, not everyone has the gift of teaching. Class notes do not correlate with homework and the book is not really followed.
Unorganized, class will stay late daily (20minsday), huge amount of homework, tons of grading errors (8% of my grade I brought errors to his attention), huge amount of handouts that are not used, would not recommend. Promises a curve, claims he never made the promise.
Theo has a very think accent, you can understand him, but you have to pay attention. He assigns a lot of homework. I had him for a summer course, and he said he'd take it easy on homework cause it was summer, but I still did a lot more than most other classes I've had. Book wasn't followed, he gave out a rain forest worth of packets to study from.
Very unorganized and unstructured, jumps all over the place. Gives out an insane amount of paper handouts with unreadable handwriting and poor photocopy quality. It was easier to teach the material to myself than to be taught by him as he made things more complicated. He's a nice guy but if you have the chance to take someone else, do it.
Theo is a great guy, but his teaching techniques were not so great. Do not miss class and do all of the homework. He gives out TONS of handouts, so keep them organized and handy. Lectures are long-winded and boring. Exams were difficult and some questions come from the homework. If you do well on exam 1 and 2, you should be okay for the final exam.
Theo is a very passionate professor. He does want his students to do well but expects diligence. Do NOT miss class unless it is unavoidable. Prepare to do a good bit of homework. His homework actually makes sense in regards to what was lectured. It is not hard, but listen to him because he will tell you what he will ask on tests. Some subjectivity.
Professor Theo was probably the worst teacher I have ever had. His lectures were very all over the place and hardly ever went over actual numerical examples. Most of class was spent doing some long proof that he would then put on the test as well. Tests are long and extremely difficult. His handwriting is bad and the hand out quality is even worse.
Not bad. Lectures could get long and boring. Homework was tedious, but he pulls test questions from it. I worked hard, and was rewarded with my 4.0.
For as all over the place as his lectures were, I felt that he was a very fair grader and provided extra credit to the students who put in the work. He gives a lot of homework but his tests are very similar to those problems. The final was pretty easy and he gives you a complete outline of what will be on each test
Class is terrible, he is terrible. Constantly goes on tangents that are meaningless. Tells us things he will do for test and does non of them. The lectures are torture. The only thing good about this class is laughing at how much of a joke it is. The guy is terrible.
Theo can be summed up in 5 things: Horrible handouts that we should never use again (and the department should condemn him for using). Horrifically unfunny (but has a dumb laugh for his "jokes"). Completely reliant on his calculator (can't do anything without it) Terribly unorganized Horrible handwriting and terrible listening/pronunciation skills
DON'T TAKE HIM I've been in this class for 4 weeks now, and I can already tell that this guy should reevaluate his teaching. Maybe if he did a statistical analysis here, he'd realize that no one likes how his class is structured. Theo is unorganized, hard to understand, can't do a thing without looking at the book or his calculator. DON'T TAKE HIM.
Learned more from him about math than any other professor.
Don't take him! Can't be understood. Same lecture is repeated the next day then rushes through new material the last 10 minutes going past class time. Hands out packets, the majority aren't relevant. Unorganized to the point he uses students' packets to teach. Bonus points on exams are only given if the answer is correct. Barely answers questions.
Theo is very scattered in his lectures and his poorly copied handouts that you get EVERY class don't inspire any learning at all. He doesn't have a set timeline for the class and is scattered everywhere with how he runs the class. I'm a very successful student, but he unfortunately kept me from that by having me teach much of the class myself.
This course is an easy A as long as you have common sense. His lectures can be redundant sometimes, but he tells you what you need to know for the exam. He also gives some extra-credit to help with the exams. He cares about his students and wants them to succeed. Take him for STA2222!
Save yourself and dont waste your time. He is extremely unorganized. He also never responded to a single one of my emails. He doesnt use the Oakland university provided Moodle for anything but short announcements which makes it extremely hard to stay on track. He is a terrible grader and input grades wrong. There is more but Im out of letters.
He constantly goes over class by at least 20 minutes. INCREDIBLY disorganized and technologically illiterate. He doesn't know how to use moodle, you have to email your exams to him in a PDF. Marked an exam as zero that I turned in. He only makse posts as announcements, which makes this course hard to follow. Save yourself some pain: avoid this prof
Had to drop this class, 10 weeks into the semester we were only on chapter 6, needed 23 chapters by the end of the semester. Did not give graded work back. Due dates online were contradictory to the actual due dates. Didn't know how to work basic zoom meetings, share his screen. Dismissed students questions, gave misleading information about tests.
Honestly the worst prof I've ever had. Super rude to the whole class, in the syllabus and on the first exam says he curves exams, but then on test 2 acted like he never says that. Ignores students and emails, yells for asking questions during lectures. Cannot use zoom at all. Whatever you do, do not take this class at all.
Don't take him if it's an online course. I did have a really difficult time with this class being online, I think it would've been okay as an in person class. He doesn't use moodle for grades and is hard to reach outside of class. Thick accent as well.
It's not worth taking him ever, I would rather wait an entire semester to take this class with a different professor and graduate late than retake him. please avoid him at all costs. AND DO NOT TAKE HIM ONLINE. the list of things he does wrong piles up and you won't understand him at all by the end even if you have taken stats before.
This professor has seriously affected my mental health. Theo is a smart guy, but lacks all teaching qualities. His notes are sloppy, old and unorganized. They're so bad that over 75% of the class skips them; better off teaching yourself. His test are also very difficult and long. After this class, I will not be continuing my studies at OU.
Great guy, horrible teacher. The textbook and random guides on the internet will teach you far better than attending a lecture will. Rarely shows work for problems, and has bad notes. You basically teach yourself the course while doing the homework, which is occasionally too long. Refresh double integrals and your algebra/calc skills if taking him.
Professor is a cool guy, but old and barely knows how to work technology. Notes are useless, and he takes attendance everyday but not for a class grade. I didn't learn anything and ended up with a B-. He does a lot of curving though, but the exams are hard as hell. Know double integrals and expect to try to figure out everything on your own.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. He is too old; doesn't remember half the things he says and also lies. Has no clue on how to send emails and use modern technology(zoom). Gets upset if a student asks for help on homework or needs more time because some of us do take more than 1 class. Tests are graded arbitrarily; scores vary from lows 40's to 100's.
A professor who doesn't give a shit about his students is a trend that has been going on with the OU math department for years now. They'll pretend to care for you (does a good job at that). I suggest future students to take any math at community colleges. If you do take them at OU, you're going to lose some brain cells.
I don't understand how this guy even became a professor in the first place. Has no patience, is rude, misleading, uncaring, and knows how to act "nice". Thankfully I am done with math and never ever have to deal with power/money hungry OU math professors again. In reality, AVOID THIS PROFESSOR AT ALL COSTS!!!
Highly warn all future students to not take this course with this professor. Homework was graded by a TA, prof grades tests pretty unfairly, giving high marks to certain students and just randomly picking a number between 0-50 and assigning it to the rest of the students. GIVE ME PTSD. I'm glad I retook this class and passed it somewhere else.
Prof said he wanted the class to do better on tests, yet half of the students got low scores (30's - 50's). He has this fake smile he'll show when he talks about wanting us to do well. Do not fall for it. I would avoid this professor and the whole OU math department like the plague. His notes are from the 2000's, couldn't load them on my laptop
This professor is the worst. Gets mad if asked a simple question about the homework or overall class grade. Lectures are terrible. Grading is atrocious; there's no consistency between the number of points that are taken off (-20, -25). This prof seriously affected my mental health but glad I don't have to deal with him ever again. Thank goodness!!
Very Test Heavy, More Homework than you can imagine.., class requires Calc 1 but Math is Calc 2 or even Calc 3.. Teacher speaks horrible English, and has no idea how to use technology, requiring you to email him Homework on a specific day within a 15 minute time frame. Does not respond to emails/questions. Do not take.
Attendance points don't count. It's just a trick to make students have a feeling they can barely pass. Some get good Exam/tests grades; some get very low grades. Docks off points at the most random pace ever, -20, -25 without any legit explanation for the docking of points. AVOID.
PLS DONT TAKE, just horrible.exams were nothing what we did in class, but what was in the book.the only issue is he would not know/ tell us what chapters we were learning,so we could not study the book. exams also had stuff from ONLY his in person lecture and no where else.his notes were extremely illegible and disorganized, but were a part of exams.
