i ADORE this man. he is so caring about his students and although the subject matter may be somewhat difficult, he does his best to help you get through it. he's fair with his grading but it definately helps to let him know that you are struggling and trying. he loves enthusiasm. and he's just nice!

The greatest chemistry teacher you'll ever have. He goes at your speed if you don't understand, and he helps you with problems if you see him anywhere on campus. You'll have to study on your own, and his tests are straighforward. He doesn't try to trick you, but merely challenges you to learn.

First of all, one important thing : He really cares about his students. Always willing to help and gives out many examples for students to understand the material clearly. Tests are fairly easy if you read the textbook. TAKE HIM!

Damm if he only taught higher levels of chem. This teacher is hands down the best teacher out there. If you don't sleep, do the hw he gives, you WILL GET AN A. Respect him and you will be respected. Tests are straight forward, no curve-balls. Keeps you accountable with frequent but very easy quizzes.

GREAT PROF!! If you have a chance to take him, DO! It's an easy A if you just show up and pay attention. Took him during summer school. Exam once a week, and daily quizzes, but he tells you exactly what will be on each. No extra credit in his class, but listen to lectures and it's a sure thing!

Great teacher!!! Daily quizzes keep you on your feet but it is a great way to keep you from lagging. He gives lots of extra credit and even drops your lowest exam score! Take him for CHEM 101! You won't regret it!

Honestly, you won't get a better and easier Chem teacher than Mr. Chan. You do have to work hard but it IS a chem class, but I've had other chem teachers and he's the best so far!

Took him in Fall '07. His lecture helps a lot for you to understand. I did have to do my part and do hw, attend class, and study. I would study all day before the test and I would get 80's T^T, but he gave me a B in the class, so he's really nice! GET 10'S ON UR QUIZZES cuz its worth 100pts in the sem!! Quizzes help a lot if you are borderline!!

This guy is one of the funniest/nicest professor at fjc. He actually cares about his students and tries to get to know everyone. His jokes are a lil lame but that makes it even more funny. Hes fairly easy as long as you show up to class, do your hw, turn in the labs, which will probably get you a B.

I LOVE PROFESSOR CHAN!!! he is so adorable. I took CHEM 101 with lab in the summer and I will never do a science class in the summer every again. Quiz everyday and tests every week. Chemistry in itself is NOT an easy subject. Professor Chan makes it easy to understand and if you have questions is extremely helpful. This is not a class if you want to do no work in. 5 unit workload, studying is required.

Made me actually think about switching to chem major by the time I was done and I really wasn't looking forward to taking this class even though i'm a bio major. Genuinely cares, tries to make subject interesting. Quizzes help you understand concept and boost grade. Drops lowest test, has a study guide. Lectures are understandable. Very approachable, very helpful. Made learning subject manageable. HW not required, but if grade is borderline, doing the HW will bump you to next grade. One of the best profs!

He is an amazing instructor. Very helpful and a great sense of humor. He gives you alot of practice worksheets, and online homework. If you want to get an A you have to work hard for it. Do all of the online homework it is extremely helpful when taking the tests. Preread chapters prior to class and then reread again, do the problems in the chapter.

It's not hard to get an A in this class if you do all of the work and actually put in some extra time to study. Chan is also extremely helpful and unlike most professors, he takes the time to get to know all of his students. I definitely recommend taking him for Chem 107.

There is a lot of online homework not hard but tedious. there are about 4 tests, 1 unit exam, and a final. There is a quiz almost everyday about 3 questions from the prior lesson which he gives sample problems for that are exactly whats going to be on the quiz. He is a very clear teacher and his notes are better than the books.

Im taking this class during this summer. serious no life. i wish i had taken him during the semister it would be less stressful. however its duable probably the easiest science classes for prereq for nursing. Have to study for sure to earn a good grade. never miss class. summer class is so hectic. beware.

He's a very difficult prof.He explains the material clearly, but you still have to study a lot. lots of hw especially online hw.If your grade is an A until the last couple of weeks,guess what? You won't end up getting an A at last,cuz Chan somehow changes his style,so your grade changes completely.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND this teacher for chem101. Class is organized and his lectures are easy to understand. If you are strong in math this class can be easy, if not, my best tip is to make sure you keep up with the online homework. Some questions on there will appear on the test and you can go back rework the problems for practice. Awesome teacher!

Very passionate and helpful, he's a really great guy and a fantastic professor. His lectures are crystal clear and went by VERY quickly despite the length (lab is short, unlike other chems, very fast-paced). Additionally, he gives you everything you need to pass the class with an A, just make sure to do the online homework and to attend lab.

Was scared to take chem101 but Chan helped a lot, he wants everyone to pass! He is always willing to help you in anyway to make sure you are getting the material. Be sure to study and read the book. His tests can be hard, yes you need the book and read it because he will test you on stuff that he didn't teach, it is only in the book. good luck!!!!!

One of the best professors I've had. I got a D in chem when I took it in High school, but Chan made the class interesting and easier to follow. Its a tough five unit class, but putting in the time makes a difference. Chan is good about responding via email and helping you during office hours. I got an A.

He is very helpful but the labs just move waaay too fast. I can't imagine if I would have gotten to the point of using chemicals in that lab trying to run around and finish on time. Maybe if I took this class alone? Very disappointing because i can't take micro or physio without this course so i'll be behind for nursing. :(

His system and lectures are very organized and clear as you keep in pace diligently doing ALL worksheets and assignments and studying what he teaches in lecture diligently, you will get an A. Hands down my favorite Professor ever! He's such a genuine guy and just really wants all of his students to succeed. This class is tough so expect to study everyday for at least an hour. I took his summer class. He is very funny and loves chemistry. Honestly the only downside would be that he gives online homework for every day of the week!! And the points really add up. Prof. Chan is one of the best professors I have had so far here at Fullerton College. He enjoys conversing with his students, and it shows that he really cares about their grade. He really makes the subject fun by talking about his experiences and his weird analogies. All work he assigns is pretty much on the test, online homework is pretty easy.

Chemistry is tough, and he will push you and motivate you by pretending that you'v let him down by getting bad grades etc. If you ask, he will tell you exactly what you need to do to pass. Probably the nicest/caring professor I've had in a long time. Truly wants you to understand material. Don't be afraid to ask questions if you don't understand anything. Will answer your emails, even late at night. Class can be kind of hard if you work/have family/etc as you do have to study for tests. Otherwise very enjoyable class.

Took Professor Chan for both 101 and 201 course. He was awesome for both courses. Professor Chan was awesome! The beginning of the class isnt to hard if you have taken some form of chemistry before. Towards the middle and back half of the semester it does get challenging, however if you pair up and do study groups youll be just fine. The tutoring sessions were very helpful as well, you are given more papers and study guides. Do all the worksheets he gives you repeatedly and youll do great :)

Chem 201 is HARD. Lots of online hw and papers he gives out. he wants lab reports to be very specific. 3 exams, 1 final exam, and a lab exam. don't take any other classes if you're taking this class. make sure to study every day. There are quizzes every week.
