Mr. Faulders knows his stuff; provides clear explanations of the material.
The tests are tough and attendance is recommended. Grades fairly.
Simple enough. Faulders knows his stuff
An interesting approach to the basics of philosophy
Three papers and four tests; pretty basic course
My favorite class.
Very fair. Very intelligent. Cool guy.
Loves kangaroos! Anyway he's a great teacher. He tries to get to know his students. His tests are easy if you go to class. The papers are easy if you use his as a guideline. I would recommend taking this class.

I can't believe nobody else mentioned that he is cute! He is one of the best teachers I have ever had.
very good teacher w/ great abilities
I think that Mr. Faulders is a great teacher! He is not only excited about what he teaches he wants to make his students feel the same way. The class itself is hard, but he tries to make it clear. Philosophy is a different concept to many people.
Mr. Faulders rocks! Loves Philosophy, and makes sure the entire class does too. Take this class, capito? Braves rule!
awsome introductory course to all aspects of philosophy. each session is an intriguing glance at deeply meaningful ideas. i leave each class with new concepts about myslef and the world around me. oh, and he reminds me of guy pierce from Memento.
Great guy helpfull and fun
Great teacher!!
I started out just taking it because it was needed for transfer but now I find myself preaching philosophies outside of his class. I love his way of teaching and his love for the subject. I would highly recomend him to anyone; student or not.
Regrettably, the semester is coming to a close and I will have to bid adieu to Mr. Faulders. Helpful, generous, and genuine to students; steadfast, wise, and passionate about the discipline...and always a humble man. Take ANY class he teaches, you'll learn.
the shiznit
good buisness this class is. there's always great dialogue and debates. plus this guy is really helpful and goes over the tough parts to help the point get across.
He is a very smart and fun guy. The class is very interesting. You'll learn a lot.
nice guy, but not the best teacher
Take this class for an easy A, but don't expect to learn tons. Nice guy, but very unprofessional and close-minded. If you are a philo major, I recommend you challenge yourself with a class from Blakey or a better and more knowledgeable teacher.
Easy to understand, capito.
I think I may have lost brain cells by taking this class.
Thank you for an enjoyable introduction to Philosophy and Logic. Because of your skill at motivating students in general, and this student in particular, I am adding "Philosophy" to my graduate studies agenda. Thank you.
it was my first day of intro to logic today. but this guy is ****ing dope. cool guy, interesting, even more interesting subject matter. take this class if you're bored of the mundane and typical.
ive taken two phil classes with mr faulders, ive learned a lot and had a great time doing it. he always keeps it interesting, fun, and thought provoking.
Wow, i just finished his class and recommend it to everyone. He's a great teacher. And ladies if you like in intellecual type he's your guy, I know I would do him ;)
I love Mr.Faulders, He is the best professor at college of the canyons. He always makes sure you understand the material. I look forward to taking other courses with him.
i wrote an enthusiastic comment based on the 1st day of class. take it all back. worst class ever. makes me wanna kill myself. subject matter is a ? teaches a LOGIC class, but all he does is illogically voice his biased opinions on why bush is the right leader for the us cuz his evangelical faith
he is a very conservative philosopher and if you're more conservative like me you will probably love him. he's easy to understand and teaches the material well, while also allowing us to discuss and argue with each other in class. highly recommended
He is a good guy. Aristotle can be a little confusing though. Don't worry; he goes over Everything with you. Tests are specific so make sure you pay attention if you are not going to do homework. Ladies, he's a hottie in the sense that he is intellectual(way sexy)!
Faulders is a good guy at heart and he is very concerned about his students.Unfortunately he can be quite ignorant & unprofessional. I also found him to be a bit creepy last semester. All in all I'd say take the class, its very easy.I took 21 units and got an A. & eww not hot but Pr. Chartrand is :)
Faulders knew his material pretty well. I learned a great deal in this class. If I did not understand something, he would move at a slower pace.
He teaches his opinions, is very judgemental and close minded. Plays favorites, particularly to hot female students. Has no social skills. Other than that, decent teacher. Capito? WTF is that ?!
That last comment is so funny to me because he'd always hit on me!! and dude, I'm not even that hot. Its kinda hard to learn which teachers pull stuff like that on you. oh well, that was last semester and now I avoid him like the plague while on campus. Yea,he is super closed minded, but easy class!
I had him his first semester teaching at C.O.C. and he was kinda awkward. Not in a bad way, just a little nervous. I liked his class alot, I got a "B". Tests were not just mutiple choice, had to study and pay attention. Good and interesting class, nice guy
Great teacher. i liked the discussion we got into during class. a great teacher to take during the summer. mention about surfing and he may take the class to go. he took ours and we had a blast. alot of good memories
GRATZI...GRATZI...GRATZI... WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT THAT TED
i took a shortened class and really enjoyed it. he made things clear and easy to understand. he has a great way of explaining things-- philosophy isn't my strongpoint and I got an A. You really have to work for your grade though. Study for the tests and ask if you can do an extra paper if you're not satisfied with your grade.
This is the best teacher I have ever had at COC. I never got any negative vibes from him at all. He was incredible. I looked forward to his class every week. He was so helpful and gave great advice. He is very easy to talk to, and will do anything he can to help his students. Very wise, challenged me to do some critical introspective thinking.
I enjoyed the class a lot and will recommend it to others. I appreciate everything we learned. Most of all I appreciate the astronomy lectures at UCLA which I attended with Dr. Faulders and several students from COC.
Dr. Faulders is great! Really enjoyed his logic and Philosphy 101 class. He has a great sense of humor and really cares for his students. Take any of this class you won't be sorry.
He was excellent! He made philosphy interesting & was laid back which is nice! He was interested in student progress & there to help if you needed clarification. Just ask! The reading can be difficult & a little dry but I would encourage everyone to hang in there! It's worth it. Easy to pass but you have to really work for the A. Good class!
Great teacher........very interactive class setting....Great personality........BRAVO
Great class! Take & review notes for test. Easy going instructor. Always has time for his students.

Very interesting. He can be intimidating, but overall - just relax and pay attention.
I am very thankful for an informative and interesting class. I enjoyed Critical thinking and look forward to taking another philosophy course by Faulders in the near future.
I will miss the class discussions because they were very interesting and fun. Dr. Faulders let the whole class participate in the lectures. This is a very useful tool that everyone should use. They need to implement this at the university level.
Dr. Faulders is a great teacher! Lectures are interesting and thought provoking. He does a great job of getting the entire class to participate. He will prepare you for the tests and papers, really cares about his students. I hope to take more classes from him soon. Thanks for a great semester!
He was saying things during class that were inapproprate and hypocritical. He says the reason to learn logic is peace, but he preaches hatred. He was speaking against muslims. I became very offended and shocked. I'm finding out right now who in the college I should talk to about this.
Excellent teacher! Communicates well with the class and does an excellent job on getting the whole class involved in discussions. Prepares students well for tests and papers, and was always willing to help. I really learned alot from him. I wish he taught more classes at COC, he's the best!
Dr. Faulders is a busy person who looks over rough drafts and makes sure your work is turned in. Saying that he "preaches hate" is the fallacy ad hominem. To argue that what he says is shocking because it is inappropriate is the fallacy begging the question. And finding people to tell him is the scare tactic fallacy. Great class, Faulders
I find him to be completely caring and passionate about his work and his students. His classes have not only inspired me academically, but also internally to improve myself. Ive learned so much about myself and life in general because he made me look at the world from a birds eye view.
He is a VERY good teacher. Unfortunately, Faulders has a tendency to indoctrinate despite fervently opposing indoctrination. He told us how to vote in a recent local election, he inapprpriately spoke ill of other teachers and staff, and said hateful things about Muslims. I was also in that class. Despite his skills, he should NOT be in a classroom.
Any teacher who lets his summer class take the final early and use the last day of class for surfing should get some points. He's a cool teacher, but he does put his own beliefs into what he teaches (which seems unavoidable in the realm of philosophical teachings).
He is very clear with everything he teaches. I'd take another one of his courses
Not only is he intellectually stimulating, but he has great hair and an amazing smile:-)He creates thought provoking moments that encourage the search for truth. He is optimistic, good natured, funny, and always in a good mood. He is dedicated to his students and it shows through his teaching methods. I highly recommend any Dr. Faulders teaches.
Faulders is an ass. I think he is very smart and i have had a lot of intresting and enlightning conversations with him outside of class. BUT JESUS! I think he is a bad teacher, one thing that particularly pisses me off about him is that he doesn't answer your questions and acts like you didn't say anything.
Dr. Faulders may have doctrine in Philosophy, but how he got it boggles the mind. The man knows little about logic and even less about teaching. The only thing worse than his teaching was his personal hygiene. Don't be fooled; he is nothing short of an egotistical, half-brained phony who takes pride in perpetuating the downfall of humanity
thinks he knows everything. hammers thoughts and views into your head until you feel like you are incompetent of forming your own. this class is supposed to be an introduction to logic yet it feels like nothing more than thought control...worth mentioning: faulders puts Aristotle on a pedestal and probably bakes a cake in his memory every year…
My first impression of him was that he was a bit odd. He was usually at class early, and chatted with many of the students about different thing. He is very personable, and appeared helpful to students that are trying, never put anyone down for not getting it. I think his favorite saying was, “let’s go down to the pub and discuses fifteen points.”
The best instructor in College of the Canyons
Great teacher, knows the material very well. He really seems to enjoy teaching and wants to make sure everyone in the class understands the material. The tests are hard, but he's not a tough grader. You'll get alot out of his classes, be a better logician and better prepared for life. Definately worth taking this class.
He is one of the best instructors at College of the Canyons, and he is so cute!
one of the best teachers at coc. he is very intimidating at first. lectures are very interesting and makes you think. everyone should take this clas!!!!!
Excellent teacher. Really makes you think and is open to all opinions. He never puts anyone down. If you have an open mind and are willing to learn new things you will have fun. People who don't like him are usually the ones who are stubborn, resentful and unwilling to learn. A+ Teacher
WHY?
he worships Aristotle and bakes a cake every year in his honor.
You can sense his knowledge when he speaks but there are times when he may confuse you. You at first believe he will be a hard teacher... but he grades so easily it does not matter that the tests are difficult. Participate and he will like you. Participate and he will give you an A... I think.
Faulders is honestly my favorite teacher so far at College of the Canyons. His class is so rewarding and one of the only ones where I feel that I learn anything. He grades easy on 2 (easy) papers, and he throws in points for you on the tests. He is also funny, our class bursts out laughing every class. I definitely reccommend. So fun.
He is the most disgusting man I have ever met. At first, you cannot see through the facade he puts up but once you do, which many never do, his inner demeanor is crystal clear. He is condescending and sarcastic. He will come onto you and if you deny him he will be very bitter and it will affect your grade. Brown nose! But be careful.
He is a jerk.He thinks he knows everything and presents his opinions as fact.He speaks about groups of people (mormons, liberals, etc.) in a condescending way not caring whether or not his hurtful comments affect his students.RUDE.I will say that he is knowledgable in his field but not a good teacher. Those who like him are fooled by his outerfacade
Amazing teacher. I enjoyed every minute of his class. He is extremely helpful, just don't be afraid to ask for help.
I welcome, accept, endorse, and approve of the question; is Dr. Faulders a worthy profesor of philosophy? Based upon class with Dr. Faulders I affirm that his teaching abilities are superior to others at COC. Take his class, you will be smarter when you are finished!
Dr. Faulders is the most understanding professor that I have every had. His lectures are absolutely intruiging and fascinating. TAKE THIS CLASS!
He was a fantastic instructor. I have went to Cal State Long Beach and Long Beach City College before COC and he is the best instructor I have had in 10 years. I would recommend him to anyone. Just attend class and write your paper in a timely manner...don't wait until the last minute, he can tell. If you do this you will get a good grade.
EXCELLENT AND FUNNY TEACHER
Tests are mildly challenging. He grades relatively easy which makes the tougher questions on the tests not so bad. He is a terrific motivator. He seems to enjoy his job and that makes the class time go by faster. Take the class, ignore all the weird comments on here about him they are simply not true.
To get an A in this class you really need to go the extra mile in everything you do. there are many students who are typically A students where there lowest grade is in this class. however, he truly wants everyone to do well and believes in his students. his teaching method is a little odd but necessary for complicated subjects.
He's a very smart guy, but he has not learned how to be a good teacher. He lectures with a cramped vocabulary and makes the material seem much more difficult than it really is. The textbook and readings are really good, but his lectures are dumbed down. He needs to learn that students taking his class are not 3rd graders.
really motivating and smart man
really motivating and smart man can be funny
He is very funny, interesting, and handsome.
Dr. Faulders is a very good professor if you want to learn. I would definitely recommend him! :)
Good Professor, does his best to make sure that everyone understands the coursework, makes himself available for questions and additional help if needed. Course is pretty easy and entertaining as long as you are there, attendance is important.
Excellent instructor, made what is a difficult course into an extremely relaxed class environment, and is willing to assist his students.
Super funny guy, really inspiring and very loving....
Great Great Great, may be stuck in his opinions however the class is spectacular especially since he uses additional text from Aristotle
He teaches responsibility but he is extremely politicaly biased. 60% of class time is political indoctrination and 40 is Aristotle. He grades based on how much you agree with him and not how well you do in class.
Loved Him. Learned much. Even laughed.
Professor Faulders was one of the best teachers I have ever had. His class was my favorite and I truly looked forward to it each week. Show up and pay attention to the readings and you will do fine. I highly suggest taking his class.
If you're not a republican and you're not a christian, don't take his class. My favorite quotes from him- "George Bush should of won the nobel peace prize" - "You'll realize that Roman Catholicism is the purest and truest religion on earth". He at one point scolded me for being an atheist. Join as a christian, leave as a christian, or no A for you.
I will be pursuing and continuing to take philosophy classes thanks to Dr. Faulders' teachings. I have learned a lot about life and the world we live in. Taking philosophy class with him has really opened my eyes and has changed my train of thought.
Such an amazing class. It was a great experience for me, and every class I went to I left feeling happy, and excited for my future. The "pep talks" are really inspiring, and his drive to help us succeed made me motivated and determined to complete my goals in life.
Excellent teacher, very helpful when you email him. Very nice and treats each student with respect. Remembers everyones name. 3 tests, two papers and alot of homework. Do the work and you will do good in the class. Attendance is important to him.
Faulders is a nice guy but he is very politically and religiously biased. Write a paper he is going to agree with or you probably wont like the grade you got. three tests, two papers, attend class and you will get a good grade. very intelligent and makes jokes but can come across intimidating at times.he does remember your name which is rare.
Heavily pushed a Christian agenda. Not cool to be so openly biased when teaching philosophy.
Dr. Faulders can change your life (for the better) if you let him. He's 100% caring, generous, AND challenging. He will make you think twice about what you believe. You must be open-minded, or you won't learn a thing. He's AWESOME, basically. Come to class ON TIME, do the WORK, put forth an EFFORT, and you'll absolutely LOVE his class!
He is the best teacher I've ever had. He doesn't force his beliefs on anyone he just enforces the FACTS. He respects all opinions even when the person arguing with him makes no sense. Put the effort into the class and you'll learn more than you can imagine. I'm for sure taking him again.
Dr. Faulders is the best professor I've ever had. He is very caring and knowledgable. He remembers every students name and makes an effort to communicate with each student during his lectures. His classed challenged me to think outside of the box and changed my life for the better. I strongly recommend taking his classes!!
Dr. Faulders is one of the greatest Professors at COC. There needs to be more profs like him. He is very passionate about what he teaches which some may misconstrued as being biased. We are all entitled to our own beliefs and opinions. He merely gives you facts about the subject. Highly recommended. Capito or no capito?!! :D
Well, he will embrase you. you by what your name is and the way you talk and also the was your voice sound like at the beginning in class like in the First day or second day in class. Also when someone trying to crash the class and trying to get a successful carrier...
He is fantastic!! I work full time as well as go to school full time. He was very helpful by schuduling retakes for test and keeping in touch through email. He is passionate about what he teaches which makes the class more interesting. He also knows he stuff!
Awesome guy.. Do the homework and youll pass
Very funny and nice, but gives off a total creeper vibe. Be sure to laugh at his jokes and participate in class. Heavily pushes a Conservative, Christian agenda.
Faulders is hands down the best teacher ive had at CoC. hes a good guy, hes helpful, and hell give you a break if you show you deserve one. i def recommend him for any philosophy classes.
Still one of the best teachers ever.
At first, I thought he was an arrogant, better than thou snob. Boy was I wrong! He is funny, brilliant, helpful, understanding and human. I would recommend him in a heartbeat
The Best Teacher I have EVER Had!!! He's always happy and is very helpful. I always leave his class Happy! He makes you think and values your opinions. Everyone always has fun in his class and it is Never boring! I would Recommend him to Everyone! Take his Calss you won't regret it!:)
Found the hw reading to be of little relevance in that it is not philosophy but a biologist's argument for why the Christian god is real (odd choice for PHILO 101) and his lectures can't really compare to other philosophy and theory professors I've had. I got an A, not too hard but wouldn't recommend him.
take this this teacher he is a smart man and will make u think sometimes i felt a little intimidated by him, do the homework and the two papers its super easy unless u lazy u will pass the class test are okay if u attended class and actually understand the material then u are set but if u are confused just study i got B :D
He was entertaining and his class was easy, but he says hurtful biased things about homosexuals. Be prepared.
Mr. Faulders is rude and talks down to his students. If you are taking him for a world religions class, I suggest you take a different class because he is extremely biased toward any religion except his own. He does not have an open mind or an appreciation for other views and belief systems.
Best teacher I have ever had. Really pushes his students to think. Very strong in his own views. Gets the entire class involved in discussion of a topic. Took both philosophy classes he offered and wish I could have taken more. Actually cares about his students. Very entertaining, but not easy.
One of the best teachers I've ever had. He gets you thinking about stuff outside of class, like life and religion. It's really interesting. He's a cool, funny dude. TAKE FOR NIGHT CLASS!!!!! Only keeps you in for two hours as oppose to 3 & 1/2.
Awkward but effective teaching style. Has firm opinions and biases; just show him respect and he'll treat you accordingly. Learns every student's name and includes each person in class discussion. Assignments not hard but be thorough with your own ideas. Includes current issues in discussion. Just respect his viewpoints. Dont come if you dont care
If you treat him with respect, you'll get the same in return. Unless you have religious or political views that differ from his. He literally laughed at my religion and, in front of the whole class, stated, "You know that's all made up, right?" But to pass with a decent grade, just play up your intelligence and vocabulary a bit. Tests are easy.
No need to purchase textbook, it is can be found online. He cares alot about his students and is funny. He is a great professors my top 3 for sure and he has strong beliefs so just dont take too personally. But I HIGHLY recommend him for sure!!
Within the first hour Faulders had made derogatory comments about everything from vegetarians to secondary teachers. He told his captive audience that fuel cost should be $1 but the $3 extra goes for teachers' pensions and cited inaccurate info about graduation rates .Teaching style-listen to him while he reads.Sorry for those required to attend.
Dr. Faulders is the best! He makes everything clear until YOU GET IT. If you don't then... I'm guessing that's all ON YOU. But I strongly recommend him as a teacher. Great sense of humor. CAPITO OR NO CAPITO? :D
lots of class discussion!
Great man with good intentions. Come to class with an open mind and you'll do very well. If you are stubborn and continuously disagree with him, you will have a problem. Easy material. However, you have to go the extra mile to get an A, i.e. answer homework questions PLUS an extra 5 pages of thought. Bare minimum will get you a B. CAPITO? ;)
The class was made up of 14 homework assignments, 2 tests, 1 non-cumulative final, and a paper. An A in this class must be earned doing extra work. Dr. Faulders is a professor who is passionate about what he teaches. He is intelligent and not patronizing. He has opinions and welcomes those who voice their own opinions respectfully. Wonderful prof.
He was one Professor that opens your eyes to new thinking. If your the type to enjoy taking on a difficult course and feeling good about yourself when passing, this is your class.Challenges you, but he is there to help you every step. Great teacher, HIGHLY educated& very wise. Highly recommended. He does make unfavorable comments, but get over it.
Dr. Faulders always made the class enjoyable. The insight he shared w/his students was great. Occasionally gave us "pep talks." If you pay attention in class, you'll do fine on the exams. He learns every students name and calls on students to answer so make sure to pay attention. What I learned in this class helped me in other classes.
Dr. Faulders is a wonderful teacher. His teaching style is laid back, although he covers very serious topics. This class will get you thinking about life and God. Complete the assignments, read the text, study for the tests, and listen to his advice. He cares about his students. He enjoys hanging out with students and giving us "high fives."
By far one of the greatest professors I have had. Makes you participate in lecture and attendance is important. He is extremely laid back and you will learn a lot. Homework and tests are not hard as long as you pay attention. Would definitely recommend and take again.
